Seven years in jail for the man guilty of repeatedly abusing a

child and making hundreds of indecent photographs.

Also tonight, Jersey has a new Chief Minister. Ian Gorst tells us

how he'll lead the Island. I want to continue to serve. I want to

of the community. How an Alderney woman survived a

plane crash but couldn't save her A Jerseyman has been sentenced to

seven years in prison for making over 600 indecent images of

children. Lee Albert De Mouilpied had also been found guilty of

procuring acts of gross indecency and indecently assaulting a child.

This is Lee Albert De Mouilpied, 35-year-old Injuriesy man. For five

years he sexually abuse add child and on one occasion he filmed it.

Over 600 indecent images were found on his computer.

This is the conclusion of an investigation starting in February

2010. On this occasion, the victim came forward and I commend the

victim for coming forward and explaining to the police what

happened. The judge described Lee Albert De

Mouilpied's crimes as unnecessary and cruel. He said the not guilty

plea despite video evidence of the assault required the victim to sit

around in a building to see whether he would be cross-examined. He said,

"I was able to watch that room as a trial judge and to watch the victim

and to see the stress and anguish he was put through.

". Lee Albert De Mouilpied has been sentenced to five years for

indecent assault and two years for making indecent images of children.

He will serve those terms one after the other. When the sentence was

read out, he showed no emotion. His defence team say they are not sure

Jersey's new Chief Minister is Ian Gorst. The newly elected Senator

beat the one other candidate, former Bailiff, Senator Philip

Bailhache by just three votes. Newly elected senators, deputies

and constable took their seats in the in the State's chamber today

and the first thing on the agen darks one of the most important

issues of all. After drawing lots Senator Ian

Gorst made his quest first. I have immense pride in this island.

For me, politics is about public service in the interest of all

islanders. Then former bailiff, Sir Philip

Bailhache. I will offer members leadership

from the fronted. Whether members members follow, will be a matter

for them. It was then time for us to turn the

cameras off while voting took place. As both men sat patiently next to

each other, the result was read out by the bailiff.

The votes cast in the ballot were as follows. Senator Bailhache 24

votes. Senator Gorst, 27 votes. Friends and supporters came to

applaud Jersey's new minister. I want to continue to serve. I want

to continue to include, not only every State member, but also every

member of the community so they feel they have a future here and a

brighter future than perhaps they feel at this moment in time.

Both candidates thanked each other for their support. The work for

senator Ian Gorst begins tonight because on Thursday, he will be

back here with other members to decide who is going to be on his

Senator Terry Le Sueur unveiled Jersey Airport's ducks sculpture in

its new home. Air crash investigators are trying

to establish what caused a light aircraft to ditch into the sea on

Saturday. The search for 79-year- old Ian Dickinson from Alderney has

been called off after the aircraft he was flying came down 25 miles

north-west of Guernsey. His wife, who is 78, survive the crash. Mike

Wilkins reports. The couple were heading to Alderney.

They never made it. Let's take a look at what really happened. Ian

and Ann-Marie Dickinson took off from this aircraft in Hampshire at

2.45pm on Saturday afternoon. Guernsey's air traffic control for

monitoring the plane. Rescue teams from France and the Channel Islands

raced to where the plane was last seen, close to one of the shipping

lanes, 5 miles north-west of Guernsey. Fortunately a Russian

merchant ship was in the area and heard the mayday call. They had a

launch vessel which went to rescue Mrs Dickinson who was found

floating in a dinghy. At 5pm a French helicopter winched her from

the vessel and flew her to hospital. The passengers on the aeroplane was

extremely lucky that the aeroplane ditched near a merchant ship that

had the capability of assisting. Mrs Dickinson told her rescuers she

tried to save her husband, once the plane ditched, but was unable to

and had to get out of the aircraft which sank very quickly.

They had been living in Alderney for over 20 years.

Obviously totally unexpected and they were a couple that were

involved in many things on the island, especially the church where

they were both very regular attendees and stalwart members of

that community. Air accident investigators told the

BBC it could be months before they know why this aircraft was so far

off course and what caused it to crash. And with the plane at the

bottom of the channel, Mrs Dickinson is probably the only one

so we had to listen to the National Anthem again and put the flag right.

It was twice the joy. Some success for Guernsey as well.

What is the atmosphere like amongst the Jersey and Guernsey teams out

there. There is a little bit of rivalry. You are away from the

Jersey Guernsey sort of stuff. People imagine bowls to be a

leisurely hobby. I imagine at the top it must be competitive and

require a lot of training. Tell us about that. It is very competitive,

but the training, I haven't played bowls since the finals at the end

of August and we are now into November, so I haven't done a lot

of bowls lately. That makes this even more

incredible. Thank you very much. Well done.

the Channel Islands. There will be more in the way of cloud tomorrow.

But we should have another fine start to the day and a little bit

cooler overnight. Overnight temperatures getting into into

single figures. Not Not much change in the set-up, a couple of areas of

low pressure. They will move closer through the day tomorrow, but not

making much progress, by Wednesday they come closerment perhaps

bringing more in the way of cloud, but for much of the day on

Wednesday, it is a dry store yip. For the first-half of this week, no

chance of any rain. This evening and tonne, a lot of clear sky

around. As I mentioned, the temperatures will fall into single

figures so a colder night than we have seen recently, down to 8 or 9

Celsius. Tomorrow morning, a fine, chilly start. It will warm up

through the day, but also more cloud coming in. The cloud

approaching from the south will cloud things over into the

afternoon. 14 Celsius the maximum temperature. A similar wind

direction, it is a moderate south- On Wednesday evening, there will be

a few light showers. Colder through Thursday and Friday, but a lot of

bright, dry weather around and as we move towards the end of the week,

temperatures getting back down to I'm joined by a special friend in
