Coming up: the cost of BT, doubts over whether women here will get

their now banned breast implants removed for free. Also tonight, we

look around Guernsey's new hospice and ask where it will find the

money to keep going. And milking the Jersey name, as

dairy farmers target lucrative Pressure is mounting on private

surgeons who carried out breast enlargements using the

controversial French PIP implants to remove them without charging. A

consultant plastic surgeon who has used them on patients in Jersey has

offered to give his time for free to remove those implants. In

Guernsey, a private healthcare provider has offered to give free

checks to all women with implants. These are the breast implants that

are causing the concern. Both the island's help services so that none

of the French made PIP implants were given to patients in the

island's hospitals but it doesn'ts of women have had them privately. -

- dozens of women. Here at the clinic in St Hellier, Adrian

Grobbelar is holding a private clinic. He has used these implants

in the past. Today his secretary told me that he would be giving his

time for free to those who wanted them removed. What remains unclear

is who would pay for the theatre time and staff. TPs have reported a

rise in the number of women concerned about the implants. --

GPs. Women that have been consulting GPs. They are not sure

which in plant they have had. Guernsey, the private health

provider, Centre for Modern Medicine, is providing free local

check-ups to any woman who has the PIP implants. They have also gone

further saying that if any implants need replacing or if a woman

decides she wants to go down that route to anyway, they will offer

the procedure at a reduced tariff. We need to understand what happened

in the United Kingdom. A review was announced by the UK health service

today. That will do little to allay the women -- fears of women here

who are wondering how safe their implants are and if they need to be

removed, who will pay. Two people had to climb out of a

bedroom window on to their route to escape a fire in St Hellier last

night. The fire was on the first floor at a home on Bellozane Avenue

and broke out at around 11pm. It was brought under control by the

fire service. The cause is being investigated.

Police in Jersey have renewed their appeal for their woman who has been

missing for almost a month. Margarida Nascimento de Ascensao

was last seen around 9pm on Friday 16th December at her home in St

Saviours Road. She has not been in touch with anyone since. She is

from Madeira, around five feet two inches tall, of a medium to stocky

build and has long dark hair. a concern. In the course of a year,

we have 700 missing person reports and those people are found within

hours or days. She has now been missing for almost four weeks. The

appeal today is really not just from members of the public but to

Margarida Nascimento de Ascensao herself. You are not in any trouble,

we are concerned for your welfare. If you do not want people to know

why you are, please do contact us. Patients and staff have been

settling into Jersey's new Les Bourgs Hospice this week. There is

still a very large bill to be paid however.

I like be fitted sheets. They are so easy to drive. From the

bedsheets to the bedrooms, there are lots of admirers at Guernsey's

new hospice. I am sure they are going to be very happy years. I

think we are all going to be happy because it is a luxury for us.

Relatives have been flabbergasted by how lovely it is. The patients

have been recovering from the shock of any event and are glad to be

settling in. Despite every bedroom having some of the latest

technologies such as this hoist system that goes all around the

room, they also benefit from having a private terrace and the all-

important room with a view. garden is the focal point of the

hospice and all seven on suite bedrooms have easy access to the

outdoors. This is not just a story about a new hospice. It still needs

to be paid for, approximately �1 million to write off, and that is

before covering the annual running costs of almost three-quarters of a

million pounds. The hospice is not resting on its laurels and is

trying to generate new income streams. We now have a marvellous

training room and we are hoping to provide that as a service to the

island if people want to lease the room which will give us a small

income streams. Everything helps. new beginning for this hospice. But

not the end for the charity's financial challenges.

They Rahme the warship which is affiliated to Guernsey has left

Portsmouth on its first operational deployment. HMS Daring is one of

the new -- new type-45 Destroyers and Costa billion pounds. She will

spend several months in the Gulf and the Indian Ocean.

The Matt Banahan has been dropped from the England rugby squad for

the upcoming Six Nations tournament. He did not make it into the squad.

He was part of England's World Cup team in the autumn and was one of

their team changes in the squad. Later in Spotlight with Justin and

Victoria, it is a race against time to finish a 140 it old bridge so

that steam trains can return. -- 140 year old bridge.

Jersey could be exporting cow embryos to China within the next

two years. The President of the island's agricultural society says

that China has been importing dairy cows to increase production.

Embryos have been sent to Argentina, delivering a welcome financial

boost to local dairy farmers. Lech time at Le Ferme. These cows

are famous the world Ovett -- lunch time. Their fame is set to get

bigger. Last summer, a law was changed which means that farmers

can now send power embryos to countries where there is a demand

for pedigree cattle. The first ones have just arrived in Argentina.

They are a few days old and are extracted from the donor cows and

deep-frozen. They are exported as about -50 degrees. They have gone

to Argentina and been given better than a clearance at the weekend.

Each embryo can reach up to �500 for farmers. Now the forest seemed

interested in a bit of the Jersey too. The dairy industry in China is

growing rapidly but they are not yet in the position to take on high

and genetics. They will be there soon. It is a marvellous

opportunity for Jersey. It has also been welcomed by Anne Perchard. She

has been farming since 1950 and says that the decision is a long

time coming. It is wonderful because it is as a diversification

for the dairy farmer. He now has a pool of embryos that he can sell.

It must be really top-quality stuff, I must say. Farmers think they will

export 200 embryos a year. Agricultural bosses says this

decision will not dilute the Jersey breed but strengthen it and will

provide a welcome financial boost for one of the island's most

important industries. A film crew will be taking in the

sites around their C this week. For the BBC share Countryfile, they

have been filming of the island's West Coast finding more about Lihou

Island. The plan was to have a go at ormering and learn more about

the tradition that that was not the only thing the presenters will be

focusing on. There are loads of great stories we can cover. We are

looking at dairy farming, the possibilities for what can be grown

here because there's so much light and warmth. Also, I will be looking

at the oil spill that happened in the 1960s and at the impact that

has had on the island. If you want to see what they have

January. The sunshine came out for the

cameras this morning showing off Lihou Island in all its glory.

Let's see what the weather is doing The dry fine weather continues. A

cold tonight. A lot of dry weather and clear skies. The high pressure

will weaken a little overnight and tomorrow. A cold front will come

down from the north. It will weekend but introduce a lot more

cloud. It will bring colder air from the north as well. Quite a

cold weekend. Temperatures overnight it down as low as five or

six degrees. Light westerly winds. Tomorrow morning, find whether to

start the day. Gradually it will cloud over but that will take a

while. Temperatures again on the mild side. The winds picking up

from the West and veering north- westerly later. Coastal waters

The forecast over the weekend, quite a big swing in temperatures.

We will be down at on the weekend took six or seven degrees. Friday

could be quite cloudy at the start and misty in places before the

sunshine breaks through. Easily winds. Saturday and Sunday, more

cloud coming, particularly on Sunday, and the winds will freshen

from the south-east making it cold. Temperatures will be struggling.
