That's all from us. Now the news where you are. | :00:00. | :00:00.
Tonight on BBC London News. Celebrations in Lewisham ` the | :00:00. | :00:08.
campaigners who defeated the Government's plans to cut their | :00:09. | :00:13.
hospital services. We'll ask what today's decision means for other | :00:14. | :00:16.
London hospitals. Also tonight: The Prime Minister | :00:17. | :00:20.
says he wants London to become the West's greatest centre for Islamic | :00:21. | :00:25.
finance. More tales of lucky escapes from St | :00:26. | :00:29.
Jude's storm, as the clean up continues. | :00:30. | :00:34.
Plus: Her Majesty in Brixton ` indulging in one of her greatest | :00:35. | :00:36.
passions. Good evening, and welcome to the | :00:37. | :00:57.
programme. First night, the Prime Minister has said he wants London's | :00:58. | :01:01.
stock exchange to be at the centre of the flummoxed financial markets. | :01:02. | :01:07.
He has also announced plans to open an Islamic index. This is to cash in | :01:08. | :01:20.
on a sector that has seen a 150% increase in investment over the last | :01:21. | :01:24.
seven years. We want to make London one of the greatest centres for | :01:25. | :01:27.
Islamic finance anywhere in the world. During this conference there | :01:28. | :01:36.
will be new support for Islamic entrepreneurs. David Cameron was | :01:37. | :01:39.
addressing some of the key figures in the Islamic financial world, and | :01:40. | :01:43.
hoping to convince them that the real Centre for Islamic finance lies | :01:44. | :01:53.
here. We are in the ideal time zone. We have the rule of law here, which | :01:54. | :01:58.
is important to investors. We have the English language, and above all, | :01:59. | :02:03.
many of these people went to school or university in this country. The | :02:04. | :02:09.
capital's Skylab already shows sign of investment using so`called sharia | :02:10. | :02:17.
principles. `` skyline. If you update your phone, my profit rate is | :02:18. | :02:23.
?5. ?15 for the phone, and in five years' time, you pay me ?15 for the | :02:24. | :02:28.
phone. What happens if I cannot afford that ?15? You take a risk. | :02:29. | :02:35.
There is no additional payment along `` other than the ?15. Part of | :02:36. | :02:42.
today's big cell was an index of companies that comply with this law. | :02:43. | :02:48.
Will this make London more attractive, or just more | :02:49. | :02:52.
complicated? The transaction has to be more complicated, because you | :02:53. | :02:55.
have to find a way to structure it to make it looks like it isn't | :02:56. | :03:03.
interest. You can debate whether or not that really works, whether or | :03:04. | :03:09.
not it is really interest, but it is certainly no simpler than the | :03:10. | :03:13.
transactions we know about. London needs to look to new places if it is | :03:14. | :03:17.
to save the world finance capital. The Islamic way of doing things just | :03:18. | :03:26.
might be the answer. Lots more to come, including an exceptional | :03:27. | :03:30.
find, the priceless statue found on the building site of a new hotel | :03:31. | :03:33.
that reveals more about London's Roman past. | :03:34. | :03:41.
The Thames Link upgrade could end up being a shambolic 30 year long | :03:42. | :03:48.
project, according to a group of MPs. The multi`billion pound scheme | :03:49. | :03:52.
to improve journeys through the capital may not be finished until at | :03:53. | :03:59.
least 2020. The Public Accounts Committee blames government | :04:00. | :04:01.
mismanagement. Our correspondent is at Westminster. This is a really | :04:02. | :04:07.
damaging assessment. Is there more? Yes. The Public Accounts Committee, | :04:08. | :04:12.
which is chaired by Bach and `` bark and Dagenham MP, Margaret Hodge, | :04:13. | :04:14.
which is chaired by Bach and `` bark and Dagenham MP, Margaret Hodge has | :04:15. | :04:18.
been very critical of the project. That links Bedford through Central | :04:19. | :04:23.
London down to Brighton, and the idea is to upgrade the route, to | :04:24. | :04:29.
mean more frequent trains, longer trains, and upgrading some of the | :04:30. | :04:33.
stations. The recent Blackfriars upgrade is one of those. This is | :04:34. | :04:38.
supposed to be completed by the end of 2018, but this group of MPs has | :04:39. | :04:42.
said that by the time it is finished, the work will of taken 30 | :04:43. | :04:50.
years, and it also says that there are not enough people working on | :04:51. | :04:54.
this project. It is critical of a three`year delay of awarding the | :04:55. | :05:00.
company `` awarding the contract to a company that needs to make these | :05:01. | :05:07.
trains. That contract has gone to a company in Germany. Many people are | :05:08. | :05:09.
critical that that contract didn't go to a British company. I think, | :05:10. | :05:13.
number one, it has demonstrated what we have been saying. A complete and | :05:14. | :05:16.
absolute mess, confusing, must have caused millions of pounds to be | :05:17. | :05:20.
wasted, and something that I think they really need to take stock of is | :05:21. | :05:24.
the waste of time. Loads of jobs could have been saved at Bombardier. | :05:25. | :05:27.
British jobs could have been saved, if they had listened to what was | :05:28. | :05:31.
being said, not just by us, but by people in the industry as well. | :05:32. | :05:40.
Not mincing his words there. What has the government had to say? | :05:41. | :05:45.
Department for Transport remains optimistic it can deliver. It says | :05:46. | :05:51.
in financial markets did lead to a delay in concluding the rolling | :05:52. | :05:55.
stock contract, but they remain confident that trains will be | :05:56. | :05:58.
delivered at the right time. It says a major recruitment programme is | :05:59. | :06:01.
under way to ensure they have the right people in the right roles. | :06:02. | :06:04.
under way to ensure they have the right people in the right roles The | :06:05. | :06:04.
right people in the right roles. The Department for Transport is saying | :06:05. | :06:08.
they can get those additional trains by the deadline of 2018. Thank you. | :06:09. | :06:16.
It has been one of the hardest fought battles over changes to | :06:17. | :06:20.
London's hospitals, but the Court of Appeal ruled today that A and | :06:21. | :06:25.
maternity services in Lewisham would stay, even though the government | :06:26. | :06:29.
wanted to downgrade them as part of a rescue plan for a neighbouring | :06:30. | :06:32.
health trust. This is the first time the | :06:33. | :06:35.
Government's new process for dealing with failing NHS organisations has | :06:36. | :06:39.
been put to the test in court. Local campaigners say they're thrilled. | :06:40. | :06:41.
The Health Secretary says he'll look into changing the law to give the | :06:42. | :06:45.
government a freer hand to change health services. Our political | :06:46. | :06:47.
correspondent, Karl Mercer, is in Lewisham tonight. It was a year ago | :06:48. | :06:58.
today exactly that these people found out that the local A here | :06:59. | :07:03.
rat Lewisham may be in danger of the downgrade. Since then, they have | :07:04. | :07:08.
done a lot of this, chanting, marching, and handing petitions to | :07:09. | :07:12.
Downing Street. They have been to court twice to try and save their | :07:13. | :07:19.
local A Today, they found out they had won. A conventional | :07:20. | :07:23.
celebration at the end of what has been a relentless campaign. A year | :07:24. | :07:33.
ago today, the people of Lewisham learned that there are A and | :07:34. | :07:35.
maternity units were being downgraded. This has been over a | :07:36. | :07:43.
year of struggle and fight, and galvanising local support. And my | :07:44. | :07:47.
goodness me, can Lewisham really gather together and bring other | :07:48. | :07:52.
people into our story! We are thrilled, and really relieved that | :07:53. | :07:57.
justice has been done. Twice now. And we have proved our point twice | :07:58. | :08:02.
against government that they were acting unlawfully. I want to thank, | :08:03. | :08:07.
from the bottom of my heart, the totally magnificent Lewisham | :08:08. | :08:12.
community. Tonight, a celebration party at the hospital itself, a | :08:13. | :08:18.
chance. To join in. Just seeing the community out there, coming | :08:19. | :08:22.
together, it is very, very humbling. I am so proud to be invited to be | :08:23. | :08:25.
part of this community. I'm emotional. Lewisham hospitals to | :08:26. | :08:33.
keep their A and maternity services for years to come. There | :08:34. | :08:36.
has been a huge outpouring of support from local people and GPs, | :08:37. | :08:41.
and this could not have happened without their support. In last July, | :08:42. | :08:45.
a special administrator was sent in to sort out the problems at the | :08:46. | :08:51.
South London health care trust, which ran three hospitals, the Queen | :08:52. | :08:54.
Elizabeth in Woolwich, Queen Mary 's incident cup, and the Princess Royal | :08:55. | :08:59.
in Bromley. It had annual debts of more than ?60 million and was losing | :09:00. | :09:04.
money every week. The administrator thought the trust should be broken | :09:05. | :09:09.
up. Most controversially, he said the Queen Elizabeth should merge | :09:10. | :09:13.
with Lewisham, a decision that would lead to the downgrading of A and | :09:14. | :09:23.
maternity services in Lewisham. Demonstrators got that decision | :09:24. | :09:28.
overturned. Today, the Court of Appeal agreed. The Health Secretary, | :09:29. | :09:32.
Jeremy Hunt, said today that he could understand why the people of | :09:33. | :09:35.
Lewisham didn't want changes to their services, but that it was his | :09:36. | :09:39.
job to try to protect services across London. He said he was | :09:40. | :09:44.
looking at ways to change the law to ensure that at times of great | :09:45. | :09:48.
challenge, the NHS could change and innovate. Lewisham has shown that | :09:49. | :09:53.
changing the NHS is there a difficult and very lengthy. It is | :09:54. | :09:57.
incredible the difficult to make changes in London, and throughout | :09:58. | :10:02.
the NHS. We do know that the NHS is facing a serious crunch in the next | :10:03. | :10:06.
few years. It has a system of hospitals that was designed for the | :10:07. | :10:13.
last century, not this one. Tonight, those sort of thoughts will not be | :10:14. | :10:14.
entertained. Their fight is won The entertained. Their fight is won. The | :10:15. | :10:20.
challenge now is to make the two A work together. That is a real | :10:21. | :10:28.
talent for local hospital administrators and GPs. Winning the | :10:29. | :10:32.
court case is really any part of the battle. We have been reporting on | :10:33. | :10:37.
other local campaigns about hospitals across the capital, and | :10:38. | :10:42.
planned changes for them. Will today's court decision affect those | :10:43. | :10:47.
campaigns? I den think so. It was very difficult `` it was very | :10:48. | :10:51.
specific about the role of the administrator who was sent in to | :10:52. | :10:55.
sort out the problems in south`east London. But there are some big | :10:56. | :10:59.
things to come. Tomorrow, perhaps, the Health Secretary will rule on | :11:00. | :11:05.
the potential closure of other A departments. Thank you. | :11:06. | :11:15.
In other news, Two men have been arrested over a fatal hit and run in | :11:16. | :11:19.
west London. A 60`year`old woman was killed as she crossed the road with | :11:20. | :11:22.
her granddaughter. It happened in Brentford, on Boston Manor Road, | :11:23. | :11:24.
Brentford, on Boston Manor Road yesterday afternoon. Police say the | :11:25. | :11:27.
car, a damaged red hatch back, drove off without stopping. The woman's | :11:28. | :11:28.
off without stopping. The woman s seven`year`old granddaughter was not | :11:29. | :11:37.
hurt. A former Liberal Democrat leader of Kingston Council has been | :11:38. | :11:42.
found guilty of child pornography charges. He was also told he may `` | :11:43. | :11:49.
you must register as a sex offender for the next ten years. | :11:50. | :11:55.
A flyover at a key intersection in west London has been closed. Routine | :11:56. | :11:59.
inspection following the storm revealed a degradation in the | :12:00. | :12:05.
contract `` in the concrete. This comes daily two years after | :12:06. | :12:10.
structural defects forced a temporary closure of the nearby | :12:11. | :12:13.
Hammersmith fly`over. More than 24 hours after the worst | :12:14. | :12:18.
of St Jude 's storm passed over London and the south`east, its | :12:19. | :12:22.
effects are still being felt. A major clean`up operation continues, | :12:23. | :12:28.
and there remain problems on some rail routes. More stories are | :12:29. | :12:31.
emerging of lucky escapes today Still in shock. | :12:32. | :12:36.
This woman looks at what is left of her home in Forest Hill. The Cerys | :12:37. | :12:41.
rebalanced, part of the 200`year`old, 50 tonne oak tree, | :12:42. | :12:46.
which crashed through the house jury yesterday 's storm. Crushed and | :12:47. | :12:48.
caving in is the roof above Sue's caving in is the roof above Sue's | :12:49. | :12:52.
daughter 's bedroom. Thankfully she daughter 's bedroom. Thankfully she | :12:53. | :12:56.
wasn't there at the time. The tree lodged itself into my door to's | :12:57. | :13:02.
bedroom. If she had been in there, I don't really like what to think what | :13:03. | :13:06.
could have happened. But the bedroom doesn't exist any more. Also | :13:07. | :13:12.
counting the cost today, managers at Hampstead Heath. Here, 100 trees lie | :13:13. | :13:18.
flattened by the 70 mph winds. I suspect we will be here for at least | :13:19. | :13:19.
two weeks. It could take longer We two weeks. It could take longer We | :13:20. | :13:27.
are still actually finding the number of trees damaged in our | :13:28. | :13:32.
woodland areas. In Hounslow, the two people killed by suspected damage to | :13:33. | :13:39.
a gas pipe has been named tonight. As well as the big clean`up, | :13:40. | :13:43.
commuters are today demanding to know why so many were left without | :13:44. | :13:47.
proper information yesterday about which trains would be running and | :13:48. | :13:52.
when. There was a lot of contradictory information on the | :13:53. | :13:56.
national rail website, the TEFL website or the train operators' | :13:57. | :14:01.
website. If there was a single source of the truth, as we have been | :14:02. | :14:07.
advocating for many years. In a statement, TEFL said that train | :14:08. | :14:15.
companies know how important it is for travellers to have up`to`date | :14:16. | :14:19.
information. They said they had spent a lot of time and money | :14:20. | :14:24.
investing in information available to customers. For Sue, another shock | :14:25. | :14:32.
this evening. She has been told her whole house is structurally unsafe. | :14:33. | :14:35.
It could be months before the family is allowed back in. | :14:36. | :14:46.
Still to come: How a true story which changed America inspired a hit | :14:47. | :14:50.
musical. And Brixton gets the Royal Ascot | :14:51. | :14:53.
treatment, as the Queen and Duchess of Cornwall visit a horse riding | :14:54. | :14:55.
centre. there is a reunion in North London | :14:56. | :15:13.
this evening as Arsenal host Chelsea in the league cup. It means to | :15:14. | :15:16.
heavyweight managers also link horns. We are talking about Arsene | :15:17. | :15:22.
Wenger taking his Arsenal team to go up against Jose Mourinho, and it is | :15:23. | :15:31.
the first time they have locked horns on offer will pitch since | :15:32. | :15:39.
2007. That was during Jose Mourinho's first stint as the blues | :15:40. | :15:44.
manager. There was no love lost between these two men with the | :15:45. | :15:47.
rivalry sometimes turning uncomfortable. Arsene Wenger accused | :15:48. | :15:56.
Jose Mourinho of being a voyeur. Jose Mourinho of being a voyeur | :15:57. | :16:00.
Since then relations have improved. With Arsenal at the Premier League | :16:01. | :16:06.
table, Chelsea just behind, both are very keen for results. Do expect | :16:07. | :16:12.
both managers to rotate their squad, because Chelsea only played on | :16:13. | :16:18.
Sunday. You can get full commentary on BBC London of Burnley against | :16:19. | :16:24.
West Ham and also Leicester against Fulham is on BBC London digital | :16:25. | :16:27.
radio. Tell us about the announcement from London Irish? | :16:28. | :16:35.
They confirmed the signing of James O'Connor joining the club. He is | :16:36. | :16:41.
known as a bad boy of Australian rugby after a string of disciplinary | :16:42. | :16:46.
issues. He has admitted to making mistakes but wants to settle into | :16:47. | :16:51.
life in England. It is an enormous opportunity for me to be involved | :16:52. | :16:59.
with London Irish. They are a family `based club. It is the next step in | :17:00. | :17:08.
my life I need right now. He has only signed a short contract but is | :17:09. | :17:11.
expected to play against Northampton this weekend. | :17:12. | :17:15.
It's the latest piece of Roman history to be unearthed at a London | :17:16. | :17:18.
building site, but this time archaeologists are describing the | :17:19. | :17:21.
ancient sculpture as an exceptional find. In fact, the statue, which | :17:22. | :17:25.
shows an eagle clasping a serpent in its beak, has been hailed by experts | :17:26. | :17:29.
as one of the finest artefacts ever unearthed in Britain. It was found | :17:30. | :17:32.
on the building site of a boutique hotel near Aldgate tube station. | :17:33. | :17:37.
Katharine Carpenter has more. A wing, eight week and a claw. | :17:38. | :17:45.
Exquisitely carved and beautifully preserved, this is an eagle. | :17:46. | :17:50.
Grasping a writhing serpent in its beak, it was unearthed in a Roman | :17:51. | :17:55.
ditch last month on the very last day of the dig near the tower of | :17:56. | :18:01.
London. As they continue to clean the peace and define the shoulders | :18:02. | :18:06.
of the Eagle and the feathers, they have started to realise the | :18:07. | :18:09.
significance of what they found. have started to realise the | :18:10. | :18:11.
significance of what they found But significance of what they found But | :18:12. | :18:15.
they kept it quiet at first. The sculpture was in such good | :18:16. | :18:18.
condition, the team was nervous it might not be as old as they thought. | :18:19. | :18:22.
Specialists confirmed it is from the first and second century A.D., | :18:23. | :18:29.
around 1900 years old. It is one of the finest pieces I have had the | :18:30. | :18:35.
chance to work on. It is incredibly important. It comes from Rome and | :18:36. | :18:41.
London and an area where there would have been a lot of sculpture and | :18:42. | :18:47.
associated with mausoleum and tombs. Unfortunately, very little of | :18:48. | :18:51.
it survives, soap to get this insight into that world is | :18:52. | :18:57.
incredible. Archaeologists say sometimes a large`scale developments | :18:58. | :19:00.
can be good for our understanding of London. It is often a condition of | :19:01. | :19:04.
planning permission that archaeologists have to be called in. | :19:05. | :19:08.
If it wasn't for the plan to build a large hotel near the Tower of | :19:09. | :19:11.
London, it might not have been discovered. It is similar across | :19:12. | :19:17.
London. This day Bloomberg place uncovered 10,000 fines. It does | :19:18. | :19:24.
create this opportunity for us to develop our search, enhance what we | :19:25. | :19:27.
know about London as a city. But this is incredibly rare. The closest | :19:28. | :19:33.
comparisons come from Jordan and from tomorrow the public will be | :19:34. | :19:37.
able to enjoy it when it goes on display at the Museum of London. | :19:38. | :19:49.
It's a musical brought to you by the people behind Chicago, Cabaret and | :19:50. | :19:51.
The Producers. No wonder then that the Scottsboro Boys received an | :19:52. | :19:54.
impressive 12 Tony Award nominations on Broadway. Now the wait is over | :19:55. | :19:58.
for Londoners ` the hit musical premiere's tonight at the Young Vic | :19:59. | :20:02.
Theatre. It is based on a true story which had a powerful effect on | :20:03. | :20:05.
American history and its legal system. Our Arts Correspondent, | :20:06. | :20:12.
Brenda Emmanus has more. It may appear to be another up beat | :20:13. | :20:19.
musical, but the Scottsboro Boys has been called provocative and | :20:20. | :20:22.
exhilarating in its telling of the true story of a miscarriage of | :20:23. | :20:26.
justice in 1930s America. It receives its UK premiere here at the | :20:27. | :20:35.
Young Vic. It starts off very happy clappy. But then you realise these | :20:36. | :20:41.
guys are accused of rape by two white women. You know it isn't true. | :20:42. | :20:47.
It is weird, because it is a musical and you are having a good time and | :20:48. | :20:55.
then you are in this deeper water. You do feel kind of exhilarated. | :20:56. | :21:11.
What you see is courage. Directed by the director behind The Producers, | :21:12. | :21:17.
it is made up of London talent and original actors from the Broadway | :21:18. | :21:22.
hit. How have they managed to tell this story in musical form? It is | :21:23. | :21:31.
very smart. Just to sit through the story of the Scottsboro Boys and the | :21:32. | :21:36.
horrors that happened to them. We have read transcripts of court | :21:37. | :21:43.
documents. It was so horrific. They found a way to tell the story. It is | :21:44. | :21:56.
very sly and smarter. `` smarter. It is very satirical and clever? It | :21:57. | :22:02.
draws you in. When it draws you in, you hear what has been said and you | :22:03. | :22:08.
are intellectually provoked, emotionally provoked on so many | :22:09. | :22:12.
different levels. The trials and appeals of these young men led to | :22:13. | :22:17.
the passing of two pivotal Crown Court rulings. And now the | :22:18. | :22:27.
Scottsboro Boys act was passed exonerating them 82 years after the | :22:28. | :22:36.
event. The Queen and The Duchess of | :22:37. | :22:39.
Cornwall made a rare joint engagement when they visited a | :22:40. | :22:42.
riding school in the heart of Brixton. It's been seen as further | :22:43. | :22:45.
confirmation of the Queen's support for Camilla's public role and future | :22:46. | :22:48.
status. The Duchess of Cornwall has supported the South London charity | :22:49. | :22:49.
since it was established in 1996, since it was established in 1996, | :22:50. | :22:52.
offering inner city children the opportunity to ride and care for | :22:53. | :22:58.
horses. Chris Slegg was there. They waited... And watched. From | :22:59. | :23:05.
where ever they could. The visitors are familiar faces at the races, | :23:06. | :23:08.
where ever they could. The visitors are familiar faces at the races but | :23:09. | :23:09.
not in equine surroundings like these. It is not somewhere you would | :23:10. | :23:17.
expect the Queen to come. I am pleased she has taken the time out | :23:18. | :23:21.
to do it. It is in the heart of the community. The stables are brilliant | :23:22. | :23:27.
for the children in this area. The horse club was set up in 1996 and is | :23:28. | :23:33.
credited for transforming the lives of many young people in this area. | :23:34. | :23:38.
Taking kids who have never sat on a horse, all the way to competitive | :23:39. | :23:43.
level. They have enjoyed many special days, but not as special as | :23:44. | :23:48.
this. I would like to ask her Majesty the Queen, to unveil a | :23:49. | :23:51.
plaque to commemorate her visit here today. This lady found the club for | :23:52. | :23:59.
youngsters in Brixton. Two years ago, it got its own home here. I was | :24:00. | :24:06.
brought up in Hammersmith and loved horses. I always wanted to ride. It | :24:07. | :24:12.
was borne out of my own struggle to be a rider as a London person. When | :24:13. | :24:17.
I grew up I wanted to extend that experience to other young people who | :24:18. | :24:22.
did not have the opportunity. After the formalities came the fun as the | :24:23. | :24:26.
youngsters put on a show for their special guests. I was very nervous. | :24:27. | :24:32.
Had to make sure he was going to be done very properly. I wanted to live | :24:33. | :24:36.
the moment, it is not everyday you to meet her Majesty. It means a lot, | :24:37. | :24:41.
it is really precious I got to meet the Queen. It is a | :24:42. | :24:46.
once`in`a`lifetime thing, you meet the Queen. For one day only, Brixton | :24:47. | :24:52.
felt like Royal ascot. Now let's check on the weather with | :24:53. | :24:54.
Peter. Is it all back to normal now? | :24:55. | :25:09.
Not quite as noisy as it was on Monday. Today has been bright and | :25:10. | :25:13.
breezy and we have had scattered showers. They are fading this | :25:14. | :25:18.
evening and skies are clearing. As the night goes on the wind will | :25:19. | :25:24.
lighten. That is a recipe for it to get quite cold. Temperatures in | :25:25. | :25:29.
urban areas, they will fall to around five or six Celsius. They | :25:30. | :25:33.
will be lower in the countryside, which means it will probably get | :25:34. | :25:37.
cold enough for a touch of frost on the grass. You will almost guarantee | :25:38. | :25:44.
a touch of Frost in Coulsdon, the chips dead Valley first thing in the | :25:45. | :25:52.
morning. By the afternoon, Cloud will start to gather from the West. | :25:53. | :25:57.
Even so, likely to seek the average are getting up to 15 Celsius. | :25:58. | :26:02.
Eventually the cloud will bring us some rain. Initially just a few | :26:03. | :26:06.
drops of rain here and there. Once it start, we will see wetter weather | :26:07. | :26:12.
moving across the London area. That will be with us tomorrow night and | :26:13. | :26:16.
the cloud and the rain, it will not be as cold. The rain will clear away | :26:17. | :26:21.
on Thursday but we will keep a lot of cloud. On Friday we can expect | :26:22. | :26:26.
more showery outbreaks of rain. Perhaps even longer spells of rain | :26:27. | :26:28.
but mainly light rain on Friday. Perhaps even longer spells of rain | :26:29. | :26:30.
but mainly light rain on Friday At but mainly light rain on Friday At | :26:31. | :26:34.
the weekend, another low is set to cross the United Kingdom. This one | :26:35. | :26:40.
is not quite as intense as St Jude. It will get quite windy. At the | :26:41. | :26:46.
moment it looks as though Sunday will be about as blustery as last | :26:47. | :26:50.
Sunday. If you can remember that, you will know how windy it is likely | :26:51. | :26:55.
to be this weekend. In the meantime, a touch of Frost, temperatures in | :26:56. | :26:59.
the teens, a bit of rain dash it is autumn. | :27:00. | :27:03.
