6pm. It's goodbye from me and on BBC One, we join our teams where you

:00:00.3:59:59

are. Tonight, accusations of unnecessary

:00:00.:00:11.

violence as a police officer appears to throw punches at a student

:00:12.:00:17.

protest at the University of London. Police were hitting people and

:00:18.:00:21.

shoving people all over the place. And today, more scuffles. Also

:00:22.:00:26.

tonight, the practising Christian fighting for the legal right not to

:00:27.:00:31.

work on Sundays. A royal opening for the Greenwich

:00:32.:00:35.

Equestrian Centre, celebrating the Olympic legacy of the borough.

:00:36.:00:41.

Recreating the Long walk to freedom. We talked to the stars of the new

:00:42.:00:44.

Nelson Mandela film, live on the red carpet.

:00:45.:00:56.

Good evening. Welcome to the programme. First, accusations that

:00:57.:01:02.

some police officers used unnecessary violence to end a

:01:03.:01:06.

student sit in at the University of London. Footage appears to show an

:01:07.:01:11.

officer throwing two punches. There were numerous skirmishes and three

:01:12.:01:13.

arrests as police stopped the demonstration last night. The

:01:14.:01:18.

Metropolitan Police say that there has been no official complaints.

:01:19.:01:24.

This afternoon, more protests. This footage appears to show a

:01:25.:01:28.

police officer punching a man in a black booty. Look again. The

:01:29.:01:33.

officer's left`hand seems to strike him in the face, and then this. This

:01:34.:01:39.

time, a woman appears to be dragged by other officers. Both of these

:01:40.:01:43.

videos were taken last night and passed to BBC London today. Other

:01:44.:01:47.

students say that they saw the police being heavy`handed. The

:01:48.:01:50.

police were hitting and shoving people all over the place. There was

:01:51.:01:55.

no violence in the occupation. All of the violence came from the

:01:56.:02:00.

security staff, beating people up. Police people beating `` police

:02:01.:02:07.

beating people up. The students were protesting against plans to close

:02:08.:02:12.

the student union. At 5pm, the staff were escorted from the building

:02:13.:02:13.

before were escorted from the building

:02:14.:02:15.

protesters were ordered to leave one hour later. At 7:20pm, the police

:02:16.:02:18.

and security staff removed protesters. The University said they

:02:19.:02:25.

called the police because they were worried about staff and described

:02:26.:02:28.

the behaviour of students yesterday as aggressive and dating. But

:02:29.:02:33.

students who gathered today are unconvinced. `` aggressive and

:02:34.:02:36.

intimidating. We were peaceful and the police got violent. Ice are a

:02:37.:02:42.

student being dragged by the neck. I cannot imagine doing anything that

:02:43.:02:47.

have warrants, physical brutality from the police. The mix of police

:02:48.:02:52.

and protesters, too many police, that made the mood confrontational.

:02:53.:03:01.

The protest today was in response to yesterday's events. 200 students

:03:02.:03:04.

gathered at the University of London and was a big police presence to

:03:05.:03:08.

match. In the last few minutes, police vans have arrived. It was not

:03:09.:03:15.

`` it was very peaceful but tension has risen. Police have confirmed

:03:16.:03:19.

that they have not received any complaints about the conduct of

:03:20.:03:23.

their officers last night. Coming up later, it looks like the

:03:24.:03:30.

storm in the North is going to have a pasty sting in its tail for us. I

:03:31.:03:34.

will have the details later in the programme.

:03:35.:03:37.

`` a Nazis staying. A police officer has told the

:03:38.:03:46.

inquest into the death of Mark Duggan that the suggestion that he

:03:47.:03:49.

planted a gun at the scene was highly offensive will stop the

:03:50.:03:52.

witness giving evidence anonymously denied that he was a liar during

:03:53.:03:58.

exchanges with the lawyer representing Duggan's family.

:03:59.:04:04.

The senior firearms officer, known only as the 59, returns to the High

:04:05.:04:08.

Court today to explain why his evidence about what happened at the

:04:09.:04:13.

scene of Mark Duggan's shooting has changed since he appeared in court

:04:14.:04:21.

in October. V59 Initially told investigators that he instructed

:04:22.:04:25.

back`up firearms officers to secure a gun that had been found on ground

:04:26.:04:31.

close to the incident. But now he said he was mistaken and that

:04:32.:04:34.

conversation must have happened later. Mr Thomas, for the family,

:04:35.:04:38.

suggested that footage taken by a resident in a tower block nearby, in

:04:39.:04:46.

the aftermath of the shooting, challenged V59's account, and

:04:47.:04:48.

suggested that he and his colleagues pointed the gun. Mr Thomas went on

:04:49.:04:51.

to say: V59, speaking from buying the

:04:52.:05:09.

screen, said that he was confused about timings of when he gave

:05:10.:05:13.

specific instructions to officers in the immediate aftermath of this

:05:14.:05:19.

shooting. The jury is not expected to hear any more evidence and the

:05:20.:05:24.

judge says he plans to begin summing up to the jury next week.

:05:25.:05:33.

A former Superbike rider has been arrested on suspicion of murdering

:05:34.:05:38.

his wife in Dubai. Sean Emmett was stranded in the Gulf state for ten

:05:39.:05:41.

months after his wife fell from a hotel window. He had just had his

:05:42.:05:51.

passport returned, and flew in this morning.

:05:52.:05:55.

The Surrey police said they made several arrests last night. Apple is

:05:56.:05:59.

linked to human trafficking were targeted, as well as businesses

:06:00.:06:03.

suspected of handling stolen goods. The Chancellor has said that foreign

:06:04.:06:09.

investment buying `` foreign investors buying property in London

:06:10.:06:12.

will soon pay capital gains tax. The announcement comes after accusations

:06:13.:06:16.

that foreign buyers are driving up property prices in the capital.

:06:17.:06:23.

They have been held partly responsible for pushing house prices

:06:24.:06:26.

through the roof. In prime locations especially. But no foreign investors

:06:27.:06:31.

are to become liable for capital gains tax. I think it is unlikely

:06:32.:06:36.

that the tax will put a lot of people off. There is a risk that it

:06:37.:06:40.

sends out an issue that the taxation of foreign owned property is

:06:41.:06:45.

something that will be looked at in the run`up to the election, but the

:06:46.:06:49.

tax itself is not so severe as to have an impact on people's desire to

:06:50.:06:54.

buy. The Treasury insists that this is not designed to deter investors

:06:55.:06:57.

from buying and selling property in the capital, simply to deal with an

:06:58.:07:02.

anomaly in the tax system. In the scheme of things, it will not make

:07:03.:07:06.

that much money. The early estimate is about ?15 million in 2016, ?40

:07:07.:07:11.

million the next year and ?70 million the router. While it is

:07:12.:07:14.

welcome, because hopefully million the next year and ?70

:07:15.:07:18.

million the router. While it it will come `` Kama the housing market, the

:07:19.:07:21.

bigger issue is that we need to build more homes. The problem we

:07:22.:07:25.

have seen is that the government has been stalking house prices with

:07:26.:07:30.

different measures, like up to buy, but not enough is being done on the

:07:31.:07:33.

supply side, where we are seeing the lowest rate of new build

:07:34.:07:40.

internationally since the 20s. It is not expected that people will start

:07:41.:07:43.

selling up until `` when this comes into course because current owners

:07:44.:07:49.

will not pay any capital gains until after this comes in, in 2015. We are

:07:50.:07:53.

seeing this in relation to other regime changes, other rule changes,

:07:54.:08:01.

whether it is a question of self`assessment. We have had to

:08:02.:08:04.

calculate the value of a particular property at a set date in order to

:08:05.:08:09.

cater for tax change. And the issues of valuation and how the tax will be

:08:10.:08:12.

permitted will now be subject to consultation.

:08:13.:08:18.

`` tax will be implemented. What else happened? He allowed local

:08:19.:08:25.

authorities across the country ?300 million more headroom to borrow, to

:08:26.:08:32.

build more rooms. London council will say that is not enough. He also

:08:33.:08:36.

suggested that the should be a blitz on trying to sell the more expensive

:08:37.:08:41.

social housing. So that you could then build more, numerically. That

:08:42.:08:45.

could impact on the centre of London. Help for small businesses,

:08:46.:08:50.

as expected. They welcomed that there will not be an inflation rise,

:08:51.:08:54.

and the business rate will be capped at 2%. And there were measures to

:08:55.:08:59.

improve the high streets. He mentioned Brentford, a town centre

:09:00.:09:01.

which has been concerned about the number of vacancies and the problems

:09:02.:09:05.

in that High Street. Offering a ?1000 discount on rates for

:09:06.:09:11.

properties in places like Brentford, and also for new businesses, to get

:09:12.:09:19.

them in, offering them a half the rates for a period of time, to

:09:20.:09:23.

attract businesses into vacant premises. And what is this about

:09:24.:09:26.

train fares you make this has urged today, and appears to show the

:09:27.:09:31.

government and City Hall are not speaking as one. This is related to

:09:32.:09:36.

real fears. The Chancellor, quite a surprise, said he was quick to be

:09:37.:09:42.

taking real fears and inflation today. Three days ago, you will

:09:43.:09:47.

remember that the mayor set his package out. He was assuming that

:09:48.:09:51.

the Chancellor was like to put inflation plus 1% on the fares. This

:09:52.:09:55.

is crucial when you think about travel cards. He is charging people

:09:56.:10:00.

next year in London, 1% above inflation because he thought that

:10:01.:10:03.

would be a big component of rail. The Chancellor has said, no, real

:10:04.:10:08.

fears are going to be lower. `` rail fares. Labour, for instance, have

:10:09.:10:14.

said straightaway that he has to bring down the travel cards, the

:10:15.:10:18.

price. Three days after he told us that he is bring it in.

:10:19.:10:23.

What we need is for the May two play catch up and actually bring down the

:10:24.:10:30.

costs of season tickets. `` the mayor Ayr play catch up. He cannot

:10:31.:10:35.

sensibly put them up above the rate that the government is suggesting.

:10:36.:10:41.

City Hall is saying that they are relaxed about this but there is

:10:42.:10:44.

something here. I know that TEFL officials had no idea that this was

:10:45.:10:50.

going to happen. `` Transport for London. One official said it was

:10:51.:10:54.

shafting the mere because he has already decided on his policy and

:10:55.:10:57.

now there is money available for the Chancellor and it does not look as

:10:58.:11:02.

if London is going to get it. According to City Hall, there is a

:11:03.:11:06.

statement year, congratulating George on holding down next year's

:11:07.:11:10.

real fears for all passengers, wherever they are in the country. ``

:11:11.:11:16.

rail fares. It is not at all clear that there will be the case. Tim

:11:17.:11:22.

Donovan. Police in Southend are investigating

:11:23.:11:25.

the possibility that a mother killed her son before taking her own life

:11:26.:11:29.

after starting a fire in their car. The bodies of Catherine mlaba and

:11:30.:11:39.

her son, 10p Mack, were found on Tuesday evening.

:11:40.:11:42.

A Christian woman has lost the latest round of her legal battle not

:11:43.:11:46.

to be forced to work on Sundays. 50 age old Celestina Mba wanted to

:11:47.:11:56.

claim this directive dismissal. For the reasons it's played in the

:11:57.:12:00.

judgement, the appeal is dismissed. The moment that Celestina Mba lost

:12:01.:12:03.

her latest legal battle to have Sundays off work. She is a Baptist,

:12:04.:12:09.

and cared for autistic children at a centre run by the council. She

:12:10.:12:12.

claimed that she had an agreement with her employer that she would be

:12:13.:12:16.

able to observe the fourth commandment, to rest and pray on the

:12:17.:12:21.

Sabbath. But after two years, she claims the council put on weekend

:12:22.:12:25.

shifts, forcing her to resign. An employment tribunal overruled her

:12:26.:12:30.

claim of constructive dismissal, and so now has a Court of Appeal. But

:12:31.:12:37.

there was an important legal victory for Celestina. All three members of

:12:38.:12:41.

the court have identified a legal error in the decision of the

:12:42.:12:43.

voluntary Google. There is some difference between us in our

:12:44.:12:49.

analysis. At the heart of the legal argument was whether or not the

:12:50.:12:54.

fourth commandment is a core component of the Christian faith.

:12:55.:12:59.

They tribunal says that it is not. The Court of Appeal says that that

:13:00.:13:01.

was a legal mistake will stop illegal judges ruled that the faith

:13:02.:13:05.

of the individual believers should be recognised and protected.

:13:06.:13:10.

Actually, they have acknowledged that the Christian faith, having

:13:11.:13:18.

Sunday off is a core component. What inspired you to bring this case

:13:19.:13:21.

forward and keep fighting so hard? Jesus. Jesus. Because Jesus is

:13:22.:13:28.

everything. Everything to Christians. In a statement, the

:13:29.:13:31.

leader of the council said: Although her appeal failed because

:13:32.:13:54.

she was contractually obliged to work Sundays, Christian campaigners

:13:55.:13:58.

say a court's acknowledgement that religious beliefs should be

:13:59.:14:02.

protected could turn the tide and Christians being marginalised in the

:14:03.:14:11.

workplace. It's the new home Brentford have been dreaming of for

:14:12.:14:14.

more than a decade. And tonight they'll find out whether plans for a

:14:15.:14:18.

new 20,000 seater stadium close to the club's current ground will be

:14:19.:14:21.

approved. But some people in the area are not happy with some aspects

:14:22.:14:24.

of the redevelopment. Chris Slegg has the story. Griffin Park, an

:14:25.:14:32.

intimate ground, not even the cameraman gets a clear view for big

:14:33.:14:36.

games like this win over Premier League Everton. This place has been

:14:37.:14:40.

home to Brentford since 1904. It gives rise to that famous piece of

:14:41.:14:44.

football trivia, it's the only stadium with a pub on every corner.

:14:45.:14:49.

But if the club gets its way, at a meeting at Hounslow Civic Centre

:14:50.:14:52.

tonight, the fans could soon be doing their pre`match drinking in a

:14:53.:14:59.

different part of town. A mile away at Lionel Road is where Brentford

:15:00.:15:03.

want to build a new stadium. On a 7.6 acre site between Kew Bridge

:15:04.:15:07.

railway station and the M4. This is what they propose. New homes,

:15:08.:15:13.

community facilities and 20,000 seater stadium. The most important

:15:14.:15:19.

day in the club's history. It is more important than any game we've

:15:20.:15:22.

played this season, we've had some good ones and big ones. If you look

:15:23.:15:27.

at the case we put forward, it should happen. By Isner Brentford

:15:28.:15:30.

began their bid to move 11 years ago. Last year they bought the site.

:15:31.:15:34.

They applied for planning permission in May and hope to move in by August

:15:35.:15:40.

2016. Several local groups are against the building of residential

:15:41.:15:59.

tower to help finance the move. The scheme has been opposed by the

:16:00.:16:01.

London Borough of Richmond, by the Royal palaces, by English Heritage.

:16:02.:16:03.

So whatever they decide tonight, it will have to go to the heir and

:16:04.:16:06.

possibly the Secretary of State. We hope that at some point the new

:16:07.:16:09.

scheme, which is much more satisfactory, will emerge.

:16:10.:16:10.

Brentford's journey towards their dream home still has some distance

:16:11.:16:15.

left to run. Still to come... Albie talking to Londoners Naomi Harris

:16:16.:16:19.

and Idris Elba, as they take on the huge roles of Nelson and Winnie

:16:20.:16:22.

Mandela in the biopic, The Long Walk to Freedom.

:16:23.:16:31.

Greenwich Park was the backdrop for the London 2012 equestrian events.

:16:32.:16:36.

And today the legacy lives on with the opening of Equestrian Centre by

:16:37.:16:40.

the Princess Royal. It's not just to attract local people to take up

:16:41.:16:43.

riding but also to consider a career in the equine world, as our sports

:16:44.:16:46.

news correspondent, Adrian Warner, reports. The most spectacular

:16:47.:16:55.

Olympic equestrian stage ever. Jumping across the Meridian line.

:16:56.:17:04.

That's all right, but my word, she is on the edge! And also trying to

:17:05.:17:08.

break down class barriers, by bringing what some say is a posh

:17:09.:17:13.

sport into the city. Not everybody wanted the Olympics to come here.

:17:14.:17:17.

Some were worried about the park being damaged. Others said there

:17:18.:17:20.

wouldn't be a sporting legacy for Greenwich. The new Greenwich

:17:21.:17:27.

Equestrian Centre is about proving them wrong. A place where students

:17:28.:17:32.

learn how to look after horses, and they certainly get VIP treatment

:17:33.:17:36.

here. This is physiotherapy for animals will stop a freezing cold

:17:37.:17:43.

footbath. It's very much like a massage effect. You can control the

:17:44.:17:46.

depth of the water and the intensity of the amount of bubbles that are

:17:47.:17:53.

there. That can help with numerous different injuries in the lower leg.

:17:54.:17:58.

To help the horses recovery time. There wasn't much of this around

:17:59.:18:03.

when Princess Anne Road for Britain at the 1976 Olympics. The stables

:18:04.:18:07.

look the same, but the treatment of the horses has changed dramatically.

:18:08.:18:14.

Chelsea Charles wants to run her own stables for dressage horses when she

:18:15.:18:18.

has finished her training. After the Olympics, that was what made me want

:18:19.:18:24.

to come here. When I first found out about this, I was the first person

:18:25.:18:30.

to sign up to come here. So signs of some equestrian legacy just up the

:18:31.:18:34.

road from Greenwich Park. I won't say I've got it straight from the

:18:35.:18:38.

horses mouth... But after this, maybe I will!

:18:39.:18:48.

It's stood as a decaying landmark for 30 years. Now, at last,

:18:49.:18:53.

restoration work has started on Battersea Power Station. Gyles

:18:54.:18:55.

Brandreth was given exclusive access as the first diggers went in. From

:18:56.:19:01.

the outside Battersea Power Station looks much as it always has done.

:19:02.:19:06.

Dominating the skyline on the Southbank this side Chelsea Bridge.

:19:07.:19:10.

It is only when you get inside that you appreciate the scale of the

:19:11.:19:14.

industrial vandalism that has taken place here. The project is expected

:19:15.:19:20.

to cast a `` a cool three quarters of ?1 billion. You are the CEO of

:19:21.:19:25.

the whole enterprise, what's your ambition? We want to make Battersea

:19:26.:19:31.

Power Station one of London's most exciting and unique developments.

:19:32.:19:35.

Building on a heritage of this fantastic building. We are out

:19:36.:19:39.

sourcing the original manufacturers of light fittings, the original

:19:40.:19:42.

brickworks where the bricks came from. We are doing as much quality

:19:43.:19:48.

control of the heritage as we can. David Hills is a specialist heritage

:19:49.:19:54.

architect. Can I? Indeed. So I've turned out all the lights in London?

:19:55.:20:01.

You've just switched off Wimbledon. So this can be restored but not

:20:02.:20:08.

fully workable. You're right, but we can refurbish the machine. David has

:20:09.:20:13.

spent the last few months conducting a detailed survey of everything that

:20:14.:20:19.

has survived here. This is an inventory of all the surviving

:20:20.:20:22.

features within the power station. 500 plus items in here. Like the

:20:23.:20:29.

lavatory. That's quite a special 1950s lavatory, on the office block.

:20:30.:20:36.

So it's down to that kind of detail. Exactly. It is elements like this

:20:37.:20:40.

which give it the character of the building. Cup `` can you come at

:20:41.:20:46.

English Heritage, make sure the developers stick to their word?

:20:47.:20:53.

Proposals are submitted and approved by English Heritage, they are

:20:54.:20:56.

fantastically detailed. That covers the chimneys, repair to the

:20:57.:21:00.

brickwork, the type of bricks used to repair. We will be working very

:21:01.:21:04.

closely with all those involved to make sure that it isn't just brought

:21:05.:21:09.

back to life but is brought back to life perfectly. If everything goes

:21:10.:21:12.

to plan, Battersea Power Station will eventually find itself taken

:21:13.:21:16.

off the English Heritage at risk register. But new cases of

:21:17.:21:20.

architectural neglect are coming to light all the time, ready to take

:21:21.:21:23.

the place of those buildings lucky enough to be saved. And you can see

:21:24.:21:27.

more on Restoring England's Heritage tonight on BBC at 7.30pm.

:21:28.:21:37.

It's the new biopic of the life of the former South African President

:21:38.:21:42.

Nelson Mandela, portrayed by Londoner and Luther star Idris Elba.

Naomi Harris plays his wife, Winnie. The European premiere takes place in

:21:46.:21:48.

Leicester Square tonight, which will be attended by the Duke and Duchess

:21:49.:21:51.

of Cambridge. Our Entertainment Correspondent, Brenda Emmanus, is

:21:52.:21:58.

there. It is the most highly anticipated

:21:59.:22:02.

biopic of one of the most revered world leaders, and stars two

:22:03.:22:06.

Londoners who had an amazing year. Idris Elba and Naomi Harris Blake

:22:07.:22:11.

Nelson and Winnie Mandela. It must be great bringing the premiere here

:22:12.:22:15.

to London. It feels great. London has come out for us, the Royal

:22:16.:22:20.

Family has come out for us and it feels very special. It's cold as

:22:21.:22:26.

well. You look amazing but you must be freezing! How would you sum up

:22:27.:22:32.

the experience? Fabulous. We are just so proud of this movie. We got

:22:33.:22:36.

the experience of taking it to South Africa and having their stamp of

:22:37.:22:41.

approval. They've broken all kinds of box office records in South

:22:42.:22:45.

Africa. Has it changed your perception of the man and that time

:22:46.:22:50.

in history at all? Massively. It educated me. One of the things about

:22:51.:22:55.

the film, you get an education about not only South Africa but who

:22:56.:22:58.

Mandela was. We know him as the older guy but we really didn't know

:22:59.:23:03.

him as the younger guy, and that is what this film achieves. Would you

:23:04.:23:06.

say it has affected the roles that you will take on after this, either

:23:07.:23:11.

of you? Know, as an actor we are just lucky to get work! I like to be

:23:12.:23:17.

diverse in the roles I take. From Mrs Mandela to Moneypenny, are you

:23:18.:23:23.

looking forward to developing that will again? Yes, that's what my next

:23:24.:23:28.

rollers. It's a nice transition. I like to keep mixing it up, keep it

:23:29.:23:32.

eclectic and keep challenging myself in completely different ways. But

:23:33.:23:36.

Naomi wants to do a wrong come with me. `` romantic comedy with me. A

:23:37.:23:45.

lot of people would like to do that with you! Is Luther going to be made

:23:46.:23:51.

into a movie? You can look forward to an extended version of Luther. It

:23:52.:23:55.

is an idea that everyone wants to see happen. I want to be true to the

:23:56.:24:00.

fans, they've been loyal to us. The film is coming! The fans have

:24:01.:24:05.

certainly been waiting for them not to come. The film is released in

:24:06.:24:11.

January. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

:24:12.:24:20.

Let's get a check on the weather. We've heard about the storms in the

:24:21.:24:27.

north, how will it affect us, if at all? We've missed the worst of the

:24:28.:24:31.

weather. We have to bear in mind that an awful lot of water is being

:24:32.:24:37.

blown down the North Sea. It is surging southwards this evening.

:24:38.:24:43.

That's the reason we have got lots of coastal flood warnings, all the

:24:44.:24:51.

way down the east coast, across the Thames Estuary and into Kent. This

:24:52.:24:55.

could be the worst tidal surge for over 60 years will stop we should be

:24:56.:25:01.

taking this very seriously. In fact, the Environment Agency told us a few

:25:02.:25:05.

moments ago that they will be closing the Thames barrier at 10pm

:25:06.:25:10.

tonight. That is as an emergency measure to protect London. If you

:25:11.:25:16.

live the other side of the Thames Barrier, then you really do need to

:25:17.:25:22.

make sure you are up to date with the latest flood risk. The reason

:25:23.:25:27.

for that, as you can see, high water in the Thames Estuary tonight is

:25:28.:25:33.

going to be around 2am or 3am. So do not go to bed until you know exactly

:25:34.:25:38.

what is going on. You can find out what the flood risks are along the

:25:39.:25:42.

Essex and Kent coasts by going to the BBC weather website. You can see

:25:43.:25:49.

a red banner. If you click on the one that says flood warnings, it

:25:50.:25:53.

will take you to all the information that you need. Weather`wise, well,

:25:54.:26:00.

it is relatively quiet. We will have clearing skies this evening. There's

:26:01.:26:06.

a bit of a chill in the breeze. You wouldn't know it with Naomi Harris'

:26:07.:26:13.

dress, would you? ! Even a few sleety showers running down from the

:26:14.:26:17.

Midlands across Hertfordshire and into Essex. With air temperatures as

:26:18.:26:21.

low as those tonight, there might be a little bit of ice in the morning.

:26:22.:26:26.

Tomorrow is going to be a bright and breezy day, the winds will continue

:26:27.:26:30.

to moderate, but you still need to keep an eye on the flood risk if you

:26:31.:26:36.

are on that Thames Estuary coast. We have got another high water later on

:26:37.:26:40.

in the day. Things really do come down as we go into the weekend, even

:26:41.:26:45.

the sea, although it will be turning rather cloudy again. Bearing in mind

:26:46.:26:50.

that any holes in the cloud over the weekend, we might get a bit of frost

:26:51.:26:52.

and fork risk. Time for a look at the main

:26:53.:27:05.

headlines. First Scotland and now the rest of the UK is being battered

:27:06.:27:09.

by a powerful storm. 9,000 homes are being evacuated on the east coast

:27:10.:27:12.

because of an expected tidal surge this evening. In his Autumn

:27:13.:27:15.

Statement, the Chancellor confirmed that increases in the state pension

:27:16.:27:18.

age are being brought forward, which will affect people now in their 40s.

:27:19.:27:22.

Fuel is duty is to be frozen next year. And in London, foreign owners

:27:23.:27:27.

will soon be made to pay capital gains tax on their homes in the

:27:28.:27:31.

capital. It comes after criticism that foreign investors are falsely

:27:32.:27:38.

inflating house prices here. We will be back later during the 10 O'Clock

:27:39.:27:42.

News. Thanks for watching and do enjoy your evening.
