Good evening. I'm Alice Bhandhukravi. A seven`year`old boy

has died after he two adults became ill at a house in Chertsey which has

been badly affected by flooding It comes as water levels continue to

rise in London and the Home Counties, with parts of Surrey and

Berkshire particularly badly affected. Here is Emma North.

There is still no clear idea of what happened on this house in a street

in Chertsey last night, yards from a fast flowing Thames. Amylin screws

were called at around `` ambulance crews were called at about 3:30pm,

where a mother, father and seven`year`old boy had been taken

ill. The bridge has been closed since yesterday afternoon because of

flooding, so when ambulance crews arrived in the early hours of the

morning they had difficulty getting to their destination. The little boy

died later in hospital. His parents are still seriously ill and 15 other

people including some police were treated in hospital. With so many

affected and the source of field is not yet established, the whole

street remained sealed off. The police say they can't rule out that

what happened here may be linked to the flooding. More wind and more

rain is on the way. By mid`morning this morning on the other side of

Chertsey, people were wondering how much worse things could get and who

they could rely on when the waters rise again. There seems to be a lack

of coordination between the authorities. We don't have a direct

telephone number that we can phone up and get all our problems

resolved. We need, there needs to be more coordination between the

various authorities such as EDF Thames Water and Runnymede Council.

The local MP and Defence Secretary agreed lessons need to be learned.

What will be necessary is to make sure that in future we have a single

lead public agency, it could be the local authority, it could be the

police, it could be the county council. All of these services are

bracing themselves as the bad weather returns tonight.

We will have the latest weather later on in the bulletin. A north

London hospital is considering banning electronic cigarettes. The

cigarettes, as they are called, have proved a big success with many

former smokers, but a number of organisations are worried about

them. Sarah and John used to be smokers.

Now they inhale the vapour from their electric cigarettes. Coming in

all different shapes and sizes, they deliver nicotine via liquid vapours,

offering a smoking sensation without the smoke. There is growing

concern. The University of London has already banned them. Some

countries you can only get them under medical prescription and they

are untested. I have to keep coming back to the fact they are untested.

The Whittington Hospital in Highgate is the latest public body to

consider a ban, claiming that into line with national guidelines there

is insufficient evidence about their long`term safety. Speaking last

November the British Medical Association believe there is an

image problem as well. Our concern with the use of e`cigarettes is that

this normalises that behaviour again and our biggest concern is that

becomes glamorous again. But those lobbying for e`cigarettes, the

medical profession is missing a golden opportunity. They are orders

of magnitude safer than smoking and the public health community needs to

get on board. Sarah and Johnny are happy not to be smoking cigarettes.

A man who was found with stab wounds after crashing a car into a bus in

Stockwell yesterday evening has died. Police have named the

22`year`old as Femi Junaid and believe he was stabbed in Clapham

Road before getting into his car and colliding with the boss. They are

appealing for witnesses. Now with the latest on the rain

here is Georgina Burnett. It is a wet and windy night to come.

There is heavy showers coming and this strong bath `` south`westerly

wind continues, with temperatures down to five or six Celsius in the

night. Winds continuing through tomorrow as well. Fairly cloudy

start of the day. The best of the sunshine is likely to be in the

afternoon. By about 3pm we are reaching five or six Celsius but it

could go a couple of degrees above that later in the day. The strong

south`westerly winds and heavy showers are going to be a fairly

similar day today. Monday, ice may be a risk as we have a cold start to

the day. For Tuesday and Wednesday there is an early yellow warning for
