Good evening and welcome to BBC Newsline. The police are

:00:09.:00:13.

investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a

:00:14.:00:16.

man outside Dungannon. The body of the man, believed to be in his 30s,

:00:17.:00:20.

was found in the garden of a house in the Millview Manor area of the

:00:21.:00:23.

town this morning. A postmortem examination is to be carried out to

:00:24.:00:27.

determine the cause of death. The police haven't released any more

:00:28.:00:30.

details at this stage as they continue their inquiries.

:00:31.:00:33.

There has been a petrol bomb attack on a house in Coalisland. A device

:00:34.:00:37.

was thrown at the property at Inishmore Park around half past ten

:00:38.:00:40.

last night, causing scorch damage to a window. Nobody was in the house at

:00:41.:00:44.

the time. The police say three men believed to have been involved in

:00:45.:00:48.

the incident made off in a white coloured car along the Washingbay

:00:49.:00:51.

Road. The Sinn Fein MP for the area has condemned the attack.

:00:52.:01:00.

I was speaking to the family this morning and they were devastated

:01:01.:01:02.

completely. They do not know an actual reason for it and our concern

:01:03.:01:08.

is why this attack would happen. I don't believe it would happen by

:01:09.:01:11.

anyone within the call Island area, but we have no knowledge of that at

:01:12.:01:16.

the present time. The situation if there had not been someone sitting

:01:17.:01:20.

on the sofa in this situation we would be talking about death this

:01:21.:01:24.

morning, and that is the sad situation.

:01:25.:01:25.

Police searching for missing Ballymena woman Elizabeth Greer are

:01:26.:01:28.

investigating the discovery of a body at Randalstown, close to Lough

:01:29.:01:32.

Neagh this morning. The 46-year-old was last seen in

:01:33.:01:36.

Ballymena on Wednesday. The body has not yet been formally identified and

:01:37.:01:40.

a postmortem is to be held. The chairman of the Ulster Unionist

:01:41.:01:43.

Party, Lord Empey, has tabled an amendment at Westminster which, if

:01:44.:01:46.

passed, would pave the way for an opposition to be set up in the

:01:47.:01:49.

Assembly. His party leader Mike Nesbitt has said there is no need

:01:50.:01:53.

for an official opposition at Stormont and speaking on the Sunday

:01:54.:01:55.

Politics show, the Ulster Unionist peer insisted that the party were

:01:56.:02:04.

not making a U-turn on policy. If you look at our 2010 manifesto,

:02:05.:02:10.

it had provision for an opposition in the manifesto. In our Assembly

:02:11.:02:15.

election manifesto 2011 it is included in it, and in Mike Nesbitt

:02:16.:02:22.

was Michael maiden speech in 2011 he raised the question of opposition.

:02:23.:02:28.

-- Mike Nesbitt's maiden speech. Whether we would seek to be in

:02:29.:02:31.

opposition is whether -- a totally different issue to whether we have

:02:32.:02:36.

an opposition or not. We think it would strengthen stomach, move us

:02:37.:02:39.

one stage towards more normal politics and I cannot see any reason

:02:40.:02:43.

why anyone would be opposed to it. And you can see The Politics Show

:02:44.:02:52.

again tonight at 11pm on BBC Two. -- it would strengthen Stormont.

:02:53.:02:55.

The body of Simon Chase, who died in a suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan

:02:56.:02:58.

nine days ago, has arrived back in Northern Ireland. Mr Chase, who was

:02:59.:03:02.

originally from Chester but had been living in Limavady with his partner

:03:03.:03:04.

and two sons, had been working with an EU mission in Kabul when he was

:03:05.:03:09.

killed. His funeral will take place on Tuesday in the town.

:03:10.:03:12.

A leading charity in Northern Ireland is calling on the Assembly

:03:13.:03:15.

to ban the sale of electronic cigarettes to children under 18. It

:03:16.:03:19.

follows the decision by the Public Health Minister in England to

:03:20.:03:21.

prohibit children buying E-cigarettes. Electronic cigarettes

:03:22.:03:24.

deliver a hit of nicotine and emit water vapour which mimics the

:03:25.:03:29.

feeling and look of smoking. Chest, Heart and Stroke believes Stormont

:03:30.:03:31.

should introduce similar legislation.

:03:32.:03:39.

The quickest way to do that is to use the children and families bill

:03:40.:03:42.

that is now progressing through Westminster, and if it is tagged

:03:43.:03:46.

onto that we in Northern Ireland can use that built to deliver this band

:03:47.:03:52.

much more speedily so that we can stop young people buying these.

:03:53.:03:55.

In a statement, the Department of Health said that the minister, Edwin

:03:56.:03:57.

Poots, strongly supported any measure that discouraged people of

:03:58.:04:01.

any age from taking up smoking and would be watching developments in

:04:02.:04:03.

England closely. Turning to football now,

:04:04.:04:05.

Cliftonville defeated their North Belfast rivals Crusaders to retain

:04:06.:04:10.

the League Cup last night. But it took extra time and penalties to

:04:11.:04:13.

separate the two teams. Here's Sharon Hall.

:04:14.:04:18.

Both sides had their chances. Liam Boyce went close with this header

:04:19.:04:26.

and the Crusaders responded when this volley forced Conor Devon into

:04:27.:04:31.

a good save. At the end of normal time, Martin Burnley almost broke

:04:32.:04:35.

the deadlock for the Reds in injury time with a deft chip. When extra

:04:36.:04:42.

time ended scoreless Devlin was the hero. Cliftonville's or Carol and

:04:43.:04:56.

Connell put their kicks away. There was a feel-good -- feel-good

:04:57.:05:01.

factor for North Belfast. OK, it was not the best affair, but there will

:05:02.:05:05.

be better matches in time to come. It just shows you that the hunger

:05:06.:05:09.

and appetite for football around here and the following Cliftonville

:05:10.:05:12.

have, the supporters were magnificent, I would like to thank

:05:13.:05:15.

them, as well. And now with a look at what the

:05:16.:05:18.

weather has in store, here's Barra Best.

:05:19.:05:24.

It stays in control in the next few days. White windy at the moment, we

:05:25.:05:32.

have a weather warning in force for strong winds towards the north coast

:05:33.:05:37.

but the main area of concern is for ice, especially during the first

:05:38.:05:40.

half of the night. The Met Office has issued a weather warning. Where

:05:41.:05:46.

we have clear skies we could see ice on untreated surfaces. Scattered

:05:47.:05:50.

showers will continue tonight and during the first part of the night

:05:51.:05:54.

we are likely to see sleet and snow and especially for the hills and

:05:55.:05:59.

mountains. By tomorrow morning there will be milder air and most of what

:06:00.:06:03.

is following will fall as rain. Tomorrow morning will be fairly

:06:04.:06:08.

unsettled, scattered showers throughout the day and windy at

:06:09.:06:11.

times. To begin with, a lot of us waking up

:06:12.:06:15.

to damp weather but like today it will not rain all day, bright

:06:16.:06:20.

weather and spills of sunshine throughout the day. Low pressure is

:06:21.:06:23.

in control across Britain and Ireland bringing scattered showers,

:06:24.:06:27.

wintry conditions and spells of rain, snow for some higher areas of

:06:28.:06:32.

northern England and Scotland. The best of any drier weather will'

:06:33.:06:37.

England and towards the east coast. For Northern Ireland it will feel

:06:38.:06:41.

quite called with westerly winds and any scattered showers will continue

:06:42.:06:45.

to fade across, some wintry across high ground but most of us will see

:06:46.:06:50.

showers as rain. Low pressure in control for Tuesday, bringing spells

:06:51.:06:53.

of rain and scattered showers, but also some dry weather, at the moment

:06:54.:06:57.

looking most likely for western and southern areas. For the rest of the

:06:58.:07:02.

week low pressure remained in control on Wednesday, scattered

:07:03.:07:05.

showers throughout the day in between brighter weather and spills

:07:06.:07:08.

of sunshine, eventually the low-pressure slipping away by

:07:09.:07:12.

Thursday and we are expecting a much better day then. We will keep an eye

:07:13.:07:15.
