end of the week? No. Had Russia heading our way and wet and windy | :00:00. | :00:00.
Good evening, the headlines on BBC Newsline: Three of the families of | :00:00. | :00:22.
patients who died at the Royal's emergency department have not been | :00:23. | :00:25.
told the exact circumstances of their deaths. | :00:26. | :00:29.
Another construction firm is caught up in a campaign of sabotage against | :00:30. | :00:34.
the former Quinn Group. Changes to controversial school | :00:35. | :00:37.
funding cuts but there's concern they're just a short-term measure. | :00:38. | :00:47.
Find out how a piper from Armagh found himself working with the Boss. | :00:48. | :00:53.
A coastal road battered in recent storms partially collapses in County | :00:54. | :00:56.
Down. And there's more stormy weather to | :00:57. | :00:59.
come across parts of Northern Ireland tonight - I'll have the full | :01:00. | :01:09.
forecast later. Three families have yet to be given | :01:10. | :01:12.
the full details of the circumstances surrounding the death | :01:13. | :01:14.
of their relatives after treatment at the Royal Victoria Hospital's | :01:15. | :01:20.
Emergency Department. Last night's BBC Spotlight programme highlighted | :01:21. | :01:25.
the cases of five patients. They died in circumstances where delays | :01:26. | :01:30.
may have been a contributory factor. This afternoon, Edwin Poots told the | :01:31. | :01:33.
health committee at the Assembly that the coroner is now involved in | :01:34. | :01:37.
four of the cases and he said this is not a crisis. A doctor who worked | :01:38. | :01:44.
in the Royal's Emergency Department has told BBC Newsline he more often | :01:45. | :01:47.
managed chaos and not patients. Our Health Correspondent Marie-Louise | :01:48. | :01:54.
Connolly reports. Too few medics dealing with too few | :01:55. | :02:00.
patients and what emerges is an environment struggling to cope. Last | :02:01. | :02:05.
night's Spotlight programme revealed pressures in the Royal's emergency | :02:06. | :02:08.
department led to delays which may have in a contributory factor in the | :02:09. | :02:12.
deaths of five patients. It also revealed that doctors on the front | :02:13. | :02:15.
line e-mailed and met with senior managers warning them of robin over | :02:16. | :02:20.
one year ago. For the first time, one of those doctors has broken his | :02:21. | :02:27.
silence to explain why. On many night shifts or weekend shifts that | :02:28. | :02:31.
I worked there, I did not give a standard of care that I thought was | :02:32. | :02:36.
appropriate to patients because our sole focus was on just managing the | :02:37. | :02:43.
chaos. Over the past 18 months, questions about the safety of | :02:44. | :02:45.
emergency departments from doctors, politicians, the public and the | :02:46. | :02:51.
media have often been dismissed as hype. Only two weeks ago, the Health | :02:52. | :02:55.
Minister gave this assurance. Northern Ireland's is a safe place | :02:56. | :02:59.
to get emergency medicine. It is a safe place to have medical care. | :03:00. | :03:06.
What is the true picture? While deaths in hospitals must be | :03:07. | :03:10.
expected, what these latest fad cases highlight is whether the | :03:11. | :03:13.
Biedermann is as safe as it should be. -- whether the environment is as | :03:14. | :03:18.
safe as it should be. Doctor Millar did the figure could be higher. The | :03:19. | :03:24.
cases must only represent the tip of the iceberg. These are cases that | :03:25. | :03:29.
have been flagged up under serious procedure. There are a lot of people | :03:30. | :03:34.
who have come into the hospital and have died or have come to harm read | :03:35. | :03:41.
this procedure has not been flagged up. -- way this procedure has not | :03:42. | :03:46.
been flagged up. Dealings were running high at the health committee | :03:47. | :03:51.
where, under pressure, the Health Minister reiterated there is no | :03:52. | :03:56.
crisis. The treatment and care of that those five people got may well | :03:57. | :04:02.
have fallen short and we will have an appropriate investigation of that | :04:03. | :04:06.
matter. I've people banking in hospital of 80,000 being treated is | :04:07. | :04:13.
not a crisis. -- five people banking in hospital. Some people questioned | :04:14. | :04:17.
the treatment of patients and families. Some people out there | :04:18. | :04:23.
don't know whether the waiting time contributed to their deaths. My | :04:24. | :04:29.
understanding is that some of those cases where particular conditions | :04:30. | :04:32.
that needed treated urgently. So the waiting time was crucial. It has | :04:33. | :04:38.
also been confirmed that the coroner is now dealing with four of the five | :04:39. | :04:43.
cases. An indication of just how seriously the Belfast Health Trust | :04:44. | :04:48.
is treating the issue. MLAs weren't the only ones to react | :04:49. | :04:52.
to the revelations uncovered by the BBC's Spotlight programme. Medical | :04:53. | :04:54.
professionals have been quick too. Some say they knew there were | :04:55. | :04:57.
problems and aren't altogether surprised. Helen Jones reports. | :04:58. | :05:08.
The revelations were shocking and the reaction quick to follow. For | :05:09. | :05:13.
the Royal Oak and nursing, it is a case, we told you so 18 ago. -- the | :05:14. | :05:19.
Royal College of nursing. It is disturbing that this system is not | :05:20. | :05:24.
working. The ability of staff to provide safe and dignified care has | :05:25. | :05:28.
been compromised. Some of the five patients who died had been waiting | :05:29. | :05:31.
up to three hours after their initial assessment. The Belfast | :05:32. | :05:35.
trust said they should have been seen within one hour. There is a | :05:36. | :05:39.
shortage of hospital doctors throughout Northern Ireland and long | :05:40. | :05:44.
trolley waits to not just affect the Royal Victoria Hospital. You need to | :05:45. | :05:49.
have two or three days of high volume of people coming in and all | :05:50. | :05:52.
of a sudden the beds are full. The whole hospital cannot admit them. | :05:53. | :05:56.
They had this problem. I have repeatedly said this and said that | :05:57. | :06:00.
this was what was needed to solve the problem. The response that I got | :06:01. | :06:07.
was, I was told to resign. The minister did not want to you the | :06:08. | :06:13.
truth. Is this system at the Royal Victoria Hospital at breaking point? | :06:14. | :06:18.
It does not have enough staff to cope with the period. Something they | :06:19. | :06:23.
occur at weekends. The important thing is that nobody actually can | :06:24. | :06:28.
anticipate or forecast that accurately. The system is not | :06:29. | :06:31.
flexible enough to put resources around the hospital to make sure | :06:32. | :06:39.
that whenever the Q is there, the staff are there. It has announced | :06:40. | :06:42.
the families of those five patients do not all know about the | :06:43. | :06:45.
circumstances surrounding those deaths. The trust said some families | :06:46. | :06:50.
do not want any more information and for those who do, they will be fully | :06:51. | :06:56.
informed. On the whole, A E units do a good job with limited resources | :06:57. | :06:59.
but the revelations have raised concerns. The last 48 hours have | :07:00. | :07:06.
been a shocking time for people in our emergency departments. We are | :07:07. | :07:10.
concerned on the patient council that the families who have been | :07:11. | :07:13.
involved get the right support at this time and of course as well as | :07:14. | :07:16.
the families that are directly involved, there will be other people | :07:17. | :07:20.
who want to use our emergency services and will be worried about | :07:21. | :07:24.
how safe they are. There are also people whose family have been in | :07:25. | :07:28.
emergency departments in the past and they will be wondering about the | :07:29. | :07:30.
care that they received there as well. Lots of issues for people who | :07:31. | :07:36.
use emergency departments. It seems the health service is rarely out of | :07:37. | :07:38.
the spotlight. Making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Mate we asked | :07:39. | :07:46.
someone from the Belfast Health Trust to be interviewed this | :07:47. | :07:52.
evening. -- we asked someone. No one was available. | :07:53. | :07:55.
Attacks against the companies once owned by Sean Quinn appear to have | :07:56. | :07:59.
taken a new twist - with another firm now being targeted. Last week | :08:00. | :08:02.
it was announced that Quinn Rooftiles was being sold to Lagan | :08:03. | :08:04.
Cement Products. Since then, hundreds of thousands of pounds of | :08:05. | :08:08.
damage has been caused. Here's our South West reporter, Julian Fowler. | :08:09. | :08:16.
The message left by those who vandalised this quarry near all is | :08:17. | :08:21.
burned last week is clear. More than 800,000 pounds of damage has been | :08:22. | :08:25.
caused to plant and equipment at three different sites in attacks | :08:26. | :08:29.
similar to those carried out against the former Quinn Group. The attacks | :08:30. | :08:37.
began after apprentice and rented it was selling Quinn Rooftiles and that | :08:38. | :08:41.
the new owners were committed to continuing employment and production | :08:42. | :08:45.
at this plant. -- Aventus. The campaign of sabotage which began | :08:46. | :08:52.
some time ago has now spread all over Ireland. There has been arson | :08:53. | :08:59.
attacks on three Lagan related properties in Aventus two and as far | :09:00. | :09:04.
away as court. Lambert -- Lagan 's is owned by Kevin Lagan. Last year | :09:05. | :09:10.
coming he was sent a bullet in the post during plans for a joint | :09:11. | :09:15.
venture with Quinn Group. But the Pond Park quarry in Lisburn belongs | :09:16. | :09:20.
to a different company. That is owned by his brother Michael. It | :09:21. | :09:24.
said it is not connected in anyway to the former Sean Quinn businesses | :09:25. | :09:29.
and says the attacks are nonsensical, serving no purpose but | :09:30. | :09:32.
to damage property and threaten jobs. Lagan 's and says its | :09:33. | :09:39.
indigenous eye this company committed to providing long-term | :09:40. | :09:43.
quality employment. -- says it is an indigenous Irish company. It says | :09:44. | :09:47.
there is no justification for this vandalism. Police are best to | :09:48. | :09:52.
getting these latest incident but so far, no one has been charged in | :09:53. | :09:55.
connection with the campaign of destruction. -- police are | :09:56. | :10:00.
investigating these latest incidents. | :10:01. | :10:05.
There's plenty to come on the programme before seven. | :10:06. | :10:08.
We'll hear how an Armagh piper found himself playing with the rocker | :10:09. | :10:15.
Bruce Springsteen. Some flights are being diverted from | :10:16. | :10:17.
Dublin Airport to Belfast International because of the 100mph | :10:18. | :10:23.
winds coming from the west. This latest Atlantic weather front | :10:24. | :10:25.
hitting these shores is called Storm Darwin. As you'd expect, some Irish | :10:26. | :10:32.
Sea sailings have been cancelled. We're being warned to expect strong | :10:33. | :10:35.
winds tonight and possible damage to the electricity network. As Will | :10:36. | :10:40.
Leitch reports, today's bad weather is not a one-off. | :10:41. | :10:49.
The relentless cycle of storm and take this winter makes its mark | :10:50. | :10:52.
again. This time a partial road collapsed in the busy A2 shore road | :10:53. | :10:58.
between Rostrevor, a root undergoing repairs. It has meant buses | :10:59. | :11:02.
diverted, motorists as to think of another route and big delays. This | :11:03. | :11:09.
is a serious situation. That road uses a lot of heavy vehicles. We'll | :11:10. | :11:14.
use a lot of by roads and they are very busy. I would not advise anyone | :11:15. | :11:20.
to take this route. There needs to be a comprehensive survey carried | :11:21. | :11:25.
out along this entire stretch. The sea wall collapsed last year as | :11:26. | :11:29.
well. With rising tides coming, climate change coming, we need to | :11:30. | :11:35.
make sure that this is fit for purpose for 21st-century weather | :11:36. | :11:39.
conditions. Many places in the north-west had been affected by | :11:40. | :11:41.
heavy snowfall overnight and some schools were forced to close. The | :11:42. | :11:48.
roads service said it deployed extra critters. The rest of the rains have | :11:49. | :11:53.
hit the South West of Ireland. Gusts of 100 mph. -- the worst of the | :11:54. | :12:02.
rains. One onlooker captured the first few seconds of this incident. | :12:03. | :12:13.
By late afternoon, more than a quarter of a million homes in the | :12:14. | :12:16.
Republic were without power. Tonight, then align's Belfast to | :12:17. | :12:23.
Liverpool ferry has been cancelled and airports are experiencing delays | :12:24. | :12:26.
from other areas including Dublin. The North should escape the worst of | :12:27. | :12:31.
the winds, even so and amber warning is in force for all areas here this | :12:32. | :12:39.
evening. School principals who feared they would lose thousands of | :12:40. | :12:43.
pounds in a budget shake-up have given a cautious welcome to news of | :12:44. | :12:46.
a reprieve. The Education Committee at the Assembly has heard assurances | :12:47. | :12:50.
that not a single school will lose money because of what's called the | :12:51. | :12:52.
"Common Funding Scheme". The minister has added extra money after | :12:53. | :12:55.
widespread complaints from parents and teachers. This report from our | :12:56. | :12:57.
education correspondent, Maggie Taggart. Most people assume that | :12:58. | :13:06.
there is just the one stabbed. Within a few days the financial | :13:07. | :13:12.
fortunes of 600 primary schools has improved. It has been clearly spelt | :13:13. | :13:16.
out that no schools will lose money in their next budgets after the | :13:17. | :13:21.
Minister for education intervened. His Commons that he will put a fund | :13:22. | :13:28.
in place, so in terms of the funding position, that is clear. The aim of | :13:29. | :13:34.
the changes was to divert extra money to improve schools which have | :13:35. | :13:37.
a lot of pupils in poorer families. I understand they will still get | :13:38. | :13:42.
increased budgets, not as much as expected, but a bit extra. This | :13:43. | :13:47.
school was due to have been the biggest loser, it faced a cut of | :13:48. | :13:53.
?44,000 and even though its existing surplus would almost have covered | :13:54. | :13:57.
that, it fought against the cuts. I will give the Minister credit. He | :13:58. | :14:12.
has taken a lot of criticism, but this is the day to give him credit. | :14:13. | :14:15.
He has listened, over 15,000 submissions. Most MLAs today were | :14:16. | :14:17.
not satisfied with the apparent good -- good news. Is it not just a stay | :14:18. | :14:24.
of execution? As Sinn Fein minister backed the move of his minister. I | :14:25. | :14:32.
say this now, if it turns out that there are losers, I will stand | :14:33. | :14:37.
beside you on front of the cameras and criticise the Minister, because | :14:38. | :14:41.
if he is telling lies, I will criticise him. The DUP chairman said | :14:42. | :14:46.
if the Minister's proposals were not changed, they would be heading for | :14:47. | :14:53.
the Executive and would be stopped. Tomorrow, on BBC Newsline... We'll | :14:54. | :14:56.
have the first of two reports on how industry is collaborating with | :14:57. | :14:59.
schools to better prepare pupils for the workplace. First up is the world | :15:00. | :15:04.
of IT, and then on Friday our focus will be engineering. That's here on | :15:05. | :15:10.
the programme at 6.30. Still to come on the programme... The Ballymoney | :15:11. | :15:13.
man Michael Dunlop on his change of heart about racing this season. The | :15:14. | :15:25.
Public Health Agency has launched a campaign on organ donation urging | :15:26. | :15:28.
people to let their relations know if they want to be donors. The move | :15:29. | :15:32.
comes is at time when the Stormont Assembly tries to find agreement on | :15:33. | :15:35.
how people should donate. Eunan McConville has speaking to recent | :15:36. | :15:38.
organ recipient, who had almost given up hope. A simple glass of | :15:39. | :15:52.
water, but until recently it was far from simple for William Johnson. He | :15:53. | :15:55.
had a defective kidney and until four weeks ago, he could not eat or | :15:56. | :16:01.
drink what he wanted. This is him at two years ago, filmed during one of | :16:02. | :16:06.
his dialysis sessions at his home. He did this four times a week for 16 | :16:07. | :16:11.
years. Then he got a call in January, a kidney had been found. | :16:12. | :16:17.
After 16 years, I had given up any kind of hope that a transplant would | :16:18. | :16:27.
be there for me. At times, he was so ill he could barely eat. Even | :16:28. | :16:29.
playing with his friends was a struggle. Someone somewhere had told | :16:30. | :16:36.
their family that they wanted to be an organ donor. This is a new | :16:37. | :16:39.
advertiser meant that the Public Health Agency hopes will get people | :16:40. | :16:44.
to sign the donor register. We will never forget what your family did. | :16:45. | :16:50.
Donor registration has become a little sized. This is the system | :16:51. | :16:55.
that is in place, people have to actively register and this campaign | :16:56. | :16:59.
is urging people to do that, but it is also asking people to have a | :17:00. | :17:03.
conversation with their families and loved ones, let them know what their | :17:04. | :17:08.
wishes are. Talk to your loved ones about organ donation, do not be | :17:09. | :17:12.
scared of it. It is something we think should be celebrated, because | :17:13. | :17:21.
when you decide to do nature organs, you can save up to seven | :17:22. | :17:23.
other lives. That is a good legacy. The dialysis machine is idle, but it | :17:24. | :17:27.
will stay in his house for the next three months to give his body time | :17:28. | :17:31.
to adjust to the new kidney and after that, he hopes it will be | :17:32. | :17:38.
taken away for good. For any musician, being asked to record with | :17:39. | :17:41.
another artist is always a compliment. For an Uillean piper | :17:42. | :17:44.
from Armagh, a recent request came from a MOST unexpected quarter. Our | :17:45. | :17:47.
South-East reporter Gordon Adair has been talking to Cillian Vallely. | :17:48. | :18:03.
Cillian Vallely on stage with some familiar faces, recently he has been | :18:04. | :18:17.
keeping different musical company. Born in Armagh, Cillian Vallely | :18:18. | :18:21.
lives in New York and it was there that he received an unexpected | :18:22. | :18:26.
insight. I was sitting one night in the apartments and someone sent a | :18:27. | :18:33.
message, someone I did not know asking would I be available in the | :18:34. | :18:40.
next day or so to do a recording and the guy was called Kurt and I | :18:41. | :18:44.
thought it was his record. It soon became apparent that this was not | :18:45. | :18:49.
his record and so Cillian Vallely put the obvious question to him, who | :18:50. | :18:54.
exactly will I be recording with? He said, Bruce Springsteen. I remained | :18:55. | :19:03.
calm. I almost thought he was joking. It was no joke and within | :19:04. | :19:08.
days, Cillian Vallely found himself in the recording studio at | :19:09. | :19:12.
Springsteen's New Jersey home laying down tracks for the new album. The | :19:13. | :19:17.
end result has helped the album reached number one in ten countries, | :19:18. | :19:25.
including the US and earned this modest Uillean piper and unlikely | :19:26. | :19:29.
place in rock history. -- mackerel and unlikely place. | :19:30. | :19:41.
Sporting talent next and a Ballymoney man we had thought | :19:42. | :19:45.
wouldn't be racing this year. Stephen Watson has been talking to | :19:46. | :19:51.
Michael Dunlop. He had threatened to quit road racing? He revealed to us | :19:52. | :19:58.
on this programme in November that he was seriously considering giving | :19:59. | :20:04.
up the sport. He'd split with Honda and told us back then he was finding | :20:05. | :20:08.
it difficult to cope with the roller-coaster of highs and lows | :20:09. | :20:13.
that the sport brings. But he's had a change of mind and you've been | :20:14. | :20:19.
speaking to him. He's signed with factory team BMW to compete in the | :20:20. | :20:22.
international road races, his first big race event will be the North | :20:23. | :20:27.
West 200 in May. And in an exclusive television interview he told me he | :20:28. | :20:36.
will be raring and ready to race. Here comes Michael, here's not | :20:37. | :20:43.
giving up yet. That is exactly what Northern Ireland's hottest road | :20:44. | :20:47.
racing talent was threatening to do. Michael Dunlop was disillusioned | :20:48. | :20:50.
with the sport, but he has had a change of heart after an offer from | :20:51. | :20:56.
one of the leading manufacturers. There was a lot of going back and | :20:57. | :21:01.
forth, but my love is still there for the sport. The hunger and | :21:02. | :21:05.
wanting to wind, it is still there. It was being in the right place and | :21:06. | :21:14.
BMW know that. I will be the only man on the team. We have the factory | :21:15. | :21:20.
behind this. Dunlop had a record-breaking last season, four | :21:21. | :21:24.
victories at the Isle of Man TT and wins at the North West 200 and | :21:25. | :21:29.
Ulster Grand Prix. Despite the success, he was not joking about | :21:30. | :21:34.
early retirement. I had no intention of coming back, I loved the sport, I | :21:35. | :21:40.
will not get away from that, I love the danger, it is hard to replace | :21:41. | :21:45.
that and I am doing something this year which will be high risk and to | :21:46. | :21:49.
all the people who think it is again, it is not. It is a big game, | :21:50. | :21:55.
it it is a life risk thing and I wanted to make sure it was right for | :21:56. | :22:01.
me. I know what I need to do. Here comes Michael Dunlop. Michael | :22:02. | :22:08.
Dunlop, back on a bike and hoping to take a lot more chequered flags in | :22:09. | :22:14.
2014. It's not just our golfers like Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell and | :22:15. | :22:17.
Darren Clarke who are often enjoying the jet set lifestyle in America. A | :22:18. | :22:21.
local swimmer is receiving some five star treatment and she's still a | :22:22. | :22:25.
student. Portaferry's Syreka McMahon is training and studying at the | :22:26. | :22:28.
Texas A University, one of the biggest colleges in the United | :22:29. | :22:38.
states. Nigel Ringland reports. Living away from home for the first | :22:39. | :22:42.
time can be daunting for any teenager, but Syreka McMahon has | :22:43. | :22:46.
taken to life in Texas, enjoying fresh challenges in new | :22:47. | :22:52.
surroundings. There are approximately 30 girls on the team, | :22:53. | :22:57.
but within the swimming team, everyone is so competitive and we | :22:58. | :23:02.
are all pushing each other and everything is a raise. I am loving | :23:03. | :23:10.
the new experience. She is a mathematics major but when it comes | :23:11. | :23:13.
to her swimming, she is only interested in the number one. I have | :23:14. | :23:19.
won quite a few races for the university and it is lovely to be a | :23:20. | :23:24.
part of the team and contribute. It is really exciting, we get to fly in | :23:25. | :23:35.
our own jet. It is really exciting, it is really different, it is not | :23:36. | :23:39.
something we have every day back home. Her main goal will be the | :23:40. | :23:46.
Commonwealth Games, four years ago she represented Northern Ireland in | :23:47. | :23:50.
Delhi. It has been my goal to excel and achieve. I am working hard in | :23:51. | :23:59.
the pool. It is constantly vary in my thoughts. Her motivation to move | :24:00. | :24:03.
to Texas was to become a better swimmer, we will start to see this | :24:04. | :24:09.
year if it has worth it. Last night's sporting fixtures felt the | :24:10. | :24:12.
effects of the bad weather. The Irish Premiership match between | :24:13. | :24:14.
Warrenpoint Town and Glenavon was postponed due to a water-logged | :24:15. | :24:20.
pitch. Crusaders' game at Ballinamallard United went ahead, | :24:21. | :24:23.
but in testing conditions with Crusaders winning 2-1. Gary | :24:24. | :24:29.
McCutcheon got the decisive goal in the second half. A result lifting | :24:30. | :24:33.
the Belfast side to third in the table in hockey, Ireland made a | :24:34. | :24:37.
winning start to the Under-21 Four Nations tournament in Newtownabbey. | :24:38. | :24:39.
In freezing conditions, they had a 5-1 victory over Scotland. But as | :24:40. | :24:43.
the snow got heavier, the night's other match between Germany and | :24:44. | :24:45.
England couldn't be played. Our cameraman was very glad of that, | :24:46. | :24:57.
because it was freezing! Some news just end and there is a power cut in | :24:58. | :25:04.
the Newry area, we are being told, around 1500 households without | :25:05. | :25:08.
electricity, it happened just after 6pm. There is no confirmation about | :25:09. | :25:12.
the cause, but there is no question that storms are hitting some places. | :25:13. | :25:16.
We have the latest weather. We have an amber wind warning and we | :25:17. | :25:32.
are expecting winds to peak between now and midnight to up to 80 miles | :25:33. | :25:37.
an hour, not as strong as earlier in parts of the Republic of Ireland, it | :25:38. | :25:44.
got up to 100 mph, but strong winds are expected across southern | :25:45. | :25:49.
counties of Northern Ireland, but fortunately they will ease away | :25:50. | :25:53.
later on tonight. Combined with this windy weather, damaging gusts will | :25:54. | :25:57.
have rain and snow showers moving end, some of them will be heavy and | :25:58. | :26:01.
there will be fresh snow line, particularly on high ground, but it | :26:02. | :26:06.
will be nasty on the roads and by the end of the night, temperatures | :26:07. | :26:11.
will be low enough for frost and ice. A quieter day tomorrow, but it | :26:12. | :26:16.
will be cold to begin with, wind and will not be a major problem, but you | :26:17. | :26:21.
may find it will be tricky on some roads, try and bright weather for a | :26:22. | :26:28.
time in County Down, but towards the West, the winds will intensify and | :26:29. | :26:33.
there will be snow falling to low levels in parts of County Fermanagh | :26:34. | :26:37.
and County Tyrone. The wintry showers continued throughout the day | :26:38. | :26:41.
but will turn to rain and there will be sunshine in between, it will feel | :26:42. | :26:45.
cold, the wind will be blustery, but not as bad a day as today. Add drier | :26:46. | :26:56.
time in the morning, because rain will move in and with that there | :26:57. | :27:01.
will be more strong winds, it is more low pressure will factor parts | :27:02. | :27:04.
of Britain and Ireland through Friday night and into the weekend | :27:05. | :27:10.
and part of the problem is the frequency of the storms and another | :27:11. | :27:15.
one is coming our way by the end of the weekend. Tomorrow, a little bit | :27:16. | :27:19.
quieter, it will be cold and blustery, more wet and windy weather | :27:20. | :27:24.
on Friday into Saturday, quieter on Sunday. The police are advising | :27:25. | :27:31.
motorists to reduce speed and be careful on the roads because of the | :27:32. | :27:35.
weather conditions, there are already reports of fallen trees, | :27:36. | :27:40.
particularly in South down and County Armagh. | :27:41. | :27:45.
Our late summary is at 10.25. You can also keep in | :27:46. | :28:08.
It's your job to keep law and order, isn't it? | :28:09. | :28:14. |
