well. More details if you want to go on the website. That's | :00:00. | 3:59:59
This is BBC Newsline. The headlines this Monday evening: Dissident | :00:00. | :00:19.
Republicans claim newly acquired Semtex was used in a mortar bomb | :00:20. | :00:25.
attack at the weekend. There's condemnation of racists who petrol | :00:26. | :00:35.
bombed this home. Whoever is responsible, this does no cause any | :00:36. | :00:41.
good. Going green around the globe as St Patrick's Day is celebrated | :00:42. | :00:45.
home and away. And there are celebrations for the Ireland Rugby | :00:46. | :00:48.
and cricket teams - plus we have all the winners from today's schools | :00:49. | :00:52.
finals. The dry spell is coming to an end with more unsettled weather | :00:53. | :00:56.
heading this way. I'll have the details shortly. | :00:57. | :01:02.
Dissident Republicans claim to have used newly acquired Semtex in a bomb | :01:03. | :01:08.
attack on a police Land Rover in west Belfast on Friday night. A | :01:09. | :01:11.
family escaped injury when their car was hit by debris from the | :01:12. | :01:14.
explosion. The police have appealed for information about the attack, | :01:15. | :01:17.
believed to have been carried out by the group calling itself the IRA, | :01:18. | :01:20.
which killed prison officer David Black in November 2012. Our Home | :01:21. | :01:23.
Affairs Correspondent Vincent Kearney has this exclusive report. | :01:24. | :01:35.
Damaged masonry and mangled metal are the only evidence of what | :01:36. | :01:40.
happened here four days ago. A mortar bomb was fired from a tube as | :01:41. | :01:51.
a police Land Rover drove along the Falls Road. Scorch marks suggest the | :01:52. | :01:56.
device was fired from a tube attached to these railings. It may | :01:57. | :02:01.
not have fired have intended. Dissident Republicans say the device | :02:02. | :02:10.
contained Semtex. They said both were newly-acquired, in other words | :02:11. | :02:15.
not from old supplies under the control of Provisional IRA. If that | :02:16. | :02:20.
is true it will be of huge concern to the police and Security Services. | :02:21. | :02:24.
The police have said all weapons and explosives used by dissident | :02:25. | :02:29.
Republicans were prooefs youly -- previously controlled by the IRA. | :02:30. | :02:40.
They included these weapons used in the killing of Ronan Kerr. The find | :02:41. | :02:47.
included a quality of Semtex, but it was very years old. There is no way | :02:48. | :02:56.
to verify the claim. If it did acquire newly-acquired Semtex it | :02:57. | :02:59.
will be the first evidence that dissidents have managed to secure a | :03:00. | :03:05.
fresh supply. Whatever the nature of the device one family had a lucky | :03:06. | :03:10.
escape after their car was hit by debris. Therm coming -- they were | :03:11. | :03:16.
coming home from a party. I thought in up with just click I could lose | :03:17. | :03:21.
my life. It is not fair, because they might hurt a civilian or even | :03:22. | :03:29.
the police was guarding us. It won't happen again. A west Belfast MP | :03:30. | :03:33.
criticised those responsible for the attack and the time it took the | :03:34. | :03:37.
police to respond. He said it was around an hour and a half before | :03:38. | :03:43.
police officers carried out a search. I have been on the phone to | :03:44. | :03:49.
the PSNI from the moment I heard the explosion. The PSNI have yet to | :03:50. | :03:54.
appear on the scene, which is unacceptable. The ambulance have | :03:55. | :03:57.
arrived and you have arrived. There is a mar key down the road with 500 | :03:58. | :04:04.
people in. But the PSNI have not arrived. I think that is | :04:05. | :04:08.
unacceptable. The police say it was only through good fortune that | :04:09. | :04:14.
officers or civilians were not injured or killed. A pipebomb's been | :04:15. | :04:21.
defused in south Belfast. Police and army bomb officers discovered what | :04:22. | :04:24.
they described as a crude but viable device at Donegall Avenue. And the | :04:25. | :04:28.
Waterworks Park in the north of the city was closed at the Cliftonville | :04:29. | :04:31.
Road following the discovery of a suspicious object this morning. A | :04:32. | :04:35.
number of homes were evacuated while army technical officers carried out | :04:36. | :04:38.
a controlled explosion. Police have since declared it a hoax. A racist | :04:39. | :04:46.
motive is thought to be behind a petrol bomb attack on a car in | :04:47. | :04:49.
Newtownabbey last night. It happened in Ballyronan Park in Rathcoole. The | :04:50. | :04:52.
car was destroyed in the fire. Eunan McConville reports. Still visible | :04:53. | :05:00.
today, the foam used to douse the flames that engulfed the car parked | :05:01. | :05:04.
on this driveway. It is understood the people in the house were foreign | :05:05. | :05:09.
national, but no one was there today. The police say that the | :05:10. | :05:13.
attack happened at around 9.30 last night. They received a report that | :05:14. | :05:19.
the car was on fire. It is dreadful. We can't get by these problems. They | :05:20. | :05:24.
just keep reoccurring. You wonder when it is going to end. But the | :05:25. | :05:28.
police are not giving a lot away on this. And neither are the people who | :05:29. | :05:34.
live here. So there is an element of fear involved. It is believed the | :05:35. | :05:38.
windows of car were broken before it was set alight. The house was also | :05:39. | :05:45.
attacked with the windows being smashed. The exact circumstances | :05:46. | :05:50.
behind the attack remain unclear and people who I have spoke to said they | :05:51. | :05:54.
didn't see anything. One person heard something, but knows nothing | :05:55. | :06:00.
about the attack. But the police are treating it as a hate crime. There | :06:01. | :06:07.
has been some minor trouble in Belfast City Centre. Youths | :06:08. | :06:10.
confronted police and a number for bottles were thrown. The police | :06:11. | :06:13.
marshalled the youths - many draped in the tricolour - around city | :06:14. | :06:16.
centre locations like Castle Street and Cornmarket. The crowd eventually | :06:17. | :06:22.
dispersed. Last week we brought you the story of the families worried | :06:23. | :06:26.
about the standards of care for eating disorders here. A man whose | :06:27. | :06:30.
daughter is now being treated at a specialist unit in London told us in | :06:31. | :06:33.
his view staff here lack the expertise to treat the complex | :06:34. | :06:37.
condition. And another patient told us she feels her condition has | :06:38. | :06:45.
worsened since she had treatment. They changed my medication and I had | :06:46. | :06:53.
ECT for six weeks, that was 12 sessions. And most days were I was | :06:54. | :06:59.
just sat on the bed or walked around the ward. Just there wasn't really | :07:00. | :07:09.
much to do. Other aspects of the regime that quite soon seemed to be | :07:10. | :07:14.
peculiar were thing like a complete ban on any kind of exercise, any | :07:15. | :07:20.
kind of fresh air, any kind of home visit. She was kept inside for two | :07:21. | :07:26.
or three months, without breathing fresh air, except when she was taken | :07:27. | :07:32.
to a different hospital. Well following the broadcast the British | :07:33. | :07:35.
Psychological Society has called for a rethink in how we care for | :07:36. | :07:38.
patients with eating disorders. Their local chair Dr Ciaran Shannon | :07:39. | :07:41.
is with us now. Are you surprised by the experience of these families? | :07:42. | :07:46.
Well, I think the board and the trust had invested heavily in the | :07:47. | :07:51.
last number of years in the creation of specialist eating disorder | :07:52. | :07:56.
services. That has improved people's care, I have no doubt about it. | :07:57. | :08:03.
Staff in those services are highly committed staff and often struggle, | :08:04. | :08:09.
with mental health being the Cinderella of the health service. Of | :08:10. | :08:13.
all of those, eating disorder services set up in Northern Ireland, | :08:14. | :08:19.
not a single one contains a clinical psychologist. That is shocking. How | :08:20. | :08:24.
is that different from the rest of the UK? 21st Century mental health | :08:25. | :08:32.
care should be a comprehensive team delivering a comprehensive range of | :08:33. | :08:39.
interventions, psyche Colling -- psychology and education and have a | :08:40. | :08:46.
multidisciplinary team. There is no clinical psychologist in Northern | :08:47. | :08:50.
Ireland. What could you do that psychiatrists are not doing? One of | :08:51. | :08:56.
the important skills of a sky Coll gist -- psychologist, we have eight | :08:57. | :09:02.
years it takes to become a psychologist. We have a broad range | :09:03. | :09:08.
of treatments for individuals, individual treatments for | :09:09. | :09:12.
individual. That is important if the individual has complex needs and a | :09:13. | :09:15.
range of things going on for them. Is there any evidence to suggest | :09:16. | :09:19.
that you get better outcomes than say a psychiatrist? The main focus | :09:20. | :09:25.
of an eating disorder team should be on psychological interventions. That | :09:26. | :09:30.
team should include a clinical psychologist. Why does it not in | :09:31. | :09:34.
Northern Ireland? I think mental health is such an important area in | :09:35. | :09:39.
Northern Ireland. We have high levels of mental illness. It is the | :09:40. | :09:44.
legacy of the Troubles and high deprivation. We are again the | :09:45. | :09:49.
Cinderella of those services. Are you lobbying hard enough to say to | :09:50. | :09:53.
the National Health Service we need the funding? I'm saying it tonight. | :09:54. | :09:57.
We have said it again and again. We need more funding in member Tall -- | :09:58. | :10:04.
mental health and clinical psychologists in specialist teams. | :10:05. | :10:09.
Thank you. You're watching BBC Newsline. Still to come on the | :10:10. | :10:13.
programme: A carnival of colour as thousands turn out to St Patrick's | :10:14. | :10:17.
Day. Stay with us for all the pictures from parades across | :10:18. | :10:23.
Northern Ireland. The local rugby world has been celebrating Ireland's | :10:24. | :10:28.
Six Nations title success. We'll be hearing from the players and coach | :10:29. | :10:31.
Joe Schmidt shortly, but first a taste of how the win has been | :10:32. | :10:35.
greeted in rugby clubs here. BBC Newsline's Martin Cassidy was there | :10:36. | :10:38.
to savour the atmosphere and tension of Saturday's big match at one our | :10:39. | :10:41.
biggest clubs - Ballynahinch in County Down. As they gathered, Brian | :10:42. | :10:55.
O'Driscoll and his team carried the hopes of clubs across the land. The | :10:56. | :11:00.
interest levels are on the rise and things like that just take us you | :11:01. | :11:07.
know, it is fantastic. Superb for Irish rugby and Ulster rugby and for | :11:08. | :11:14.
local clubs. But no one underestimated the size of the task. | :11:15. | :11:18.
Ireland needed to win in France forren the o' second - for only the | :11:19. | :11:24.
second time in 40 years. We're in the presence of somebody special. He | :11:25. | :11:28.
scored a hat trick. Can he go out in trial? It is great for Brian | :11:29. | :11:35.
O'Driscoll to have the win on his last day. He started his career in | :11:36. | :11:39.
France and he had finished with a Championship in France. It is very | :11:40. | :11:44.
fitting. I'm sure the team will be delighted they have done that for | :11:45. | :11:52.
him. A good flick! Tries by Sexton and Trimble raised hopes. But | :11:53. | :12:00.
Ireland still trailed 13-12 at the break. My hair was black when the | :12:01. | :12:04.
match started! The second half was no less dramatic. The French | :12:05. | :12:10.
attacked, but Ireland countered. But there are more nail-minutes before | :12:11. | :12:14.
victory for Ireland and the sweet taste of Six Nations success. | :12:15. | :12:20.
Fantastic. What a fantastic match. Edge of the seat stuff all the way | :12:21. | :12:26.
through. For us at the club, just incredible. We are delighted. | :12:27. | :12:33.
Well, it's another St Patrick's day and the day is turning into a global | :12:34. | :12:36.
celebration. Many landmarks around the world have been going green as | :12:37. | :12:40.
part of Tourism Ireland's global greening campaign. And here are just | :12:41. | :12:43.
some of them. The leaning tower of Pisa in Italy has turned green for | :12:44. | :12:47.
the occasion. And in Australia, the Sydney Opera House has taken on a | :12:48. | :12:52.
greeny hue. There was more than a hint of the Shamrock in America | :12:53. | :12:55.
where the famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign got the green treatment. | :12:56. | :13:00.
It's possible to see the Great Wall of China from outer space. Well, | :13:01. | :13:03.
that view is all the more spectacular now that it has been lit | :13:04. | :13:07.
up in shades of emerald green. And even Christ the Redeemer in Brazil | :13:08. | :13:16.
is now looking decidedly green. Back at home, up to 30,000 people | :13:17. | :13:20.
turned out for the annual St Patrick's Day parade in Downpatrick | :13:21. | :13:22.
this afternoon. Other parades took place in Armagh, | :13:23. | :13:25.
Enniskillen and Dublin. Belfast held its parade a day before everyone | :13:26. | :13:28.
else, with one of the biggest crowds ever joining the fun. Michael | :13:29. | :13:34.
Fitzpatrick reports. Saint Patrick was at the centre of | :13:35. | :13:38.
the celebrations on the streets of the ancient town where the patron | :13:39. | :13:43.
saint is said to be buried. A colourful mixture of acrobats, | :13:44. | :13:46.
musicians and dancers made their way through the town, with the footpaths | :13:47. | :13:50.
lined with thousands of people talking up the party atmosphere. | :13:51. | :13:54.
Even the snakes from this local pet shop were allowed to join the party. | :13:55. | :14:04.
And atmosphere, the way I like it! It's fantastic, and the weather is | :14:05. | :14:09.
lovely for it. So I'm really enjoying it. It's really good fun. | :14:10. | :14:13.
She's loving it, are you not? It is from! Today's parade marks the | :14:14. | :14:21.
commendation of a week-long test will celebrating Saint Patrick and | :14:22. | :14:25.
his connection to the town. -- marks the end of a week-long celebration. | :14:26. | :14:29.
This year, it has not disappointed. In Enniskillen, there was a watery | :14:30. | :14:34.
theme to the parade. They did not rule the whole way. The organisers | :14:35. | :14:40.
were denied the turnout. There has been a great success. Brilliant | :14:41. | :14:45.
turnouts. When you think that all of the local people can organise this, | :14:46. | :14:51.
great community support. In Omagh, the theme was celebrating cultures. | :14:52. | :14:55.
A great crowd turned out to watch the parade and enjoy an open-air | :14:56. | :15:00.
concert on the town centre. Belfast got its St Patrick's Day | :15:01. | :15:04.
celebrations underway 24-hour is earlier than usual. They said they | :15:05. | :15:07.
wanted to give everybody the opportunity to attend and it | :15:08. | :15:11.
appeared to be off, with one of the biggest crowds in recent years. The | :15:12. | :15:17.
biggest parade on the island was in Dublin, where up to 500,000 people | :15:18. | :15:21.
lined the streets in a celebration all things Irish. The parade may be | :15:22. | :15:28.
long over but for many, the party is only just starting. | :15:29. | :15:31.
There were huge crowds in Londonderry too, from where our | :15:32. | :15:35.
north west reporter, Keiron Tourish, sent this round up of all the | :15:36. | :15:45.
events. Thousands took to the streets for | :15:46. | :15:49.
the carnival parade. A sea of colour and spectacle. It made its way along | :15:50. | :15:54.
Queen's and in and around the centre of the city. More than 600 people | :15:55. | :16:03.
spent months repairing their floats. They came in all shapes and sizes. | :16:04. | :16:09.
It is really good. It was really enjoyable. I thought it went well. | :16:10. | :16:15.
Brilliant! Good on all of them for making the effort. It was great, | :16:16. | :16:21.
excellent, gorgeous, we loved it. Greetings from Poland! I didn't see | :16:22. | :16:31.
it, I was at bingo! The place was alive with the sound of many | :16:32. | :16:34.
performers, leading up to its name of music city 2014. The legendary | :16:35. | :16:42.
food festival proved a major attraction. | :16:43. | :16:49.
For the adventures, there was even a chance to learn a few traditional | :16:50. | :16:57.
steps. The theme for 2014 was music, myth and magic and it certainly did | :16:58. | :17:00.
not disappoint the thousands who turned out despite the weather. | :17:01. | :17:08.
Well, a busy day would be an understatement for sport. | :17:09. | :17:10.
With the sport, here's Stephen Watson and no surprise that the | :17:11. | :17:14.
Ireland rugby team are top billing. They certainly do. It has been a | :17:15. | :17:17.
very busy day. We'll have all the traditional St | :17:18. | :17:20.
Patrick's Day Schools sport for you as well. But we start by reflecting | :17:21. | :17:23.
on Ireland's Six Nations success. The Ireland team arrived home | :17:24. | :17:26.
yesterday to a hero's welcome in Dublin, after securing just their | :17:27. | :17:29.
second Championship victory since 1985. The trophy being safely held | :17:30. | :17:32.
by Brian O'Driscoll at the back of the court. And they won this one in | :17:33. | :17:35.
dramatic fashion. Thomas Niblock looks back on a memorable weekend. | :17:36. | :17:46.
The Six Nations belongs to captain Paul O'Connell and Ireland. And for | :17:47. | :17:50.
the very last time, Brian O'Driscoll. Last year, Ireland | :17:51. | :17:54.
finished joint bottom of the Championship. Under their new | :17:55. | :17:58.
coach, they finished top. There are a few unsung heroes. There is the | :17:59. | :18:03.
standout champions like Brian and Paul but I thought Eric was | :18:04. | :18:13.
outstanding last night. I thought that some of those guys who really | :18:14. | :18:19.
worked hard in behind-the-scenes. Chris Henry had another super game. | :18:20. | :18:27.
They dominated the first half. I could probably keep naming names | :18:28. | :18:31.
because I think it was a super team performance. It is probably even | :18:32. | :18:37.
slightly more than the Grand Slam because obviously, with Brian | :18:38. | :18:41.
playing his last game in dividend, there was so much emotion, so much | :18:42. | :18:46.
at stake and they had to dig deep and it was great to get the win. The | :18:47. | :18:51.
calm before the storm, the travelling support nervously local. | :18:52. | :18:56.
We only need to win, not by much, just a little win would do! Come on | :18:57. | :19:04.
the Irish! Come on Yaris! Once Saint Patrick took his seat, the drama | :19:05. | :19:09.
unfolded. -- come on the Irish. Ireland scored the first try. And | :19:10. | :19:16.
the Irish Sea and in control when he scored again in the second half. | :19:17. | :19:23.
France then scored a try that should have been disallowed. COMMENTATOR: | :19:24. | :19:31.
He has brought that. Oh! In Ireland looked to have lost it right at the | :19:32. | :19:33.
very end. He has brought that. Oh! In Ireland | :19:34. | :19:36.
looked to have COMMENTATOR: To me, that if a forward pass. But it was a | :19:37. | :19:44.
forward pass, meaning the tried and Ireland clinched the Championship. I | :19:45. | :19:48.
have never been so tired in my life. We put in eight weeks really, really | :19:49. | :19:55.
hard work and for me, this is the highest point of my career. And the | :19:56. | :20:01.
hard work has paid off and it means so much. So many seconds along the | :20:02. | :20:05.
years and so many disappointments here. It is great to finish on a | :20:06. | :20:11.
high. My last game in this magnificent jersey and... When I do | :20:12. | :20:18.
hang it up on the hook inside, it will be with very fond memories. | :20:19. | :20:24.
Memories for Brian, memories for an entire rugby nation. | :20:25. | :20:28.
Fantastic occasion. There was drama today for Ireland's | :20:29. | :20:32.
cricketers as well. The team got off to a winning start at the World | :20:33. | :20:35.
Twenty20 tournament in Bangladesh. They beat Zimbabwe by three wickets | :20:36. | :20:38.
in their opening group game of the tournament. But Ireland were made to | :20:39. | :20:40.
sweat for victory. This was a game or Ireland seemed to | :20:41. | :20:50.
have everything under control. COMMENTATOR: And what a catch! The | :20:51. | :20:55.
restricted Zimbabwe to an innings of 163. With William Porterfield and | :20:56. | :21:02.
Paul Sterling putting on 80 runs for their first wicket, Ireland appeared | :21:03. | :21:07.
to be cruising home. Things got worse with four balls to go. Ireland | :21:08. | :21:14.
needed just two runs to win and with the very next ball, it got worse. | :21:15. | :21:18.
COMMENTATOR: We've got to hit the stubs, yes they have! Umpire's | :21:19. | :21:22.
finger has gone up. What is happening? It went to the last ball | :21:23. | :21:30.
with 11 needed to win. And Ireland somehow scrambled home. COMMENTATOR: | :21:31. | :21:36.
He misses it. It has got to hit the stumps. It has missed them. Next up | :21:37. | :21:40.
for Ireland is the UAE on Wednesday, if your nerves can handle | :21:41. | :21:44.
that. Methodist College won the rugby | :21:45. | :21:47.
schools' Cup for the third year in a row and the 37th time in total. | :21:48. | :21:51.
They beat Sullivan Upper of Holywood in the final at Ravenhill. Two tries | :21:52. | :21:56.
by Conor McKee put Methody firmly in control of the game early on, before | :21:57. | :21:59.
Sullivan responded with a fine score of their own through a determined | :22:00. | :22:01.
Chris Jordan. by Conor McKee put Methody firmly in | :22:02. | :22:04.
control But Alastair McIvor then went over for the holder's third try | :22:05. | :22:09.
before half-time. Johnny Betts revived Sullivan's hopes briefly in | :22:10. | :22:12.
the second half, before Josh Jordan and Rory Cairns scored two more | :22:13. | :22:15.
tries for Methody for a decisive 27-12 victory and a third straight | :22:16. | :22:29.
win in the competition. Disappointment for Sullivan in their | :22:30. | :22:32.
first ever final. Even when people doubted us, we believed and coaches | :22:33. | :22:38.
believed in ourselves and it is unbelievable. Words cannot describe | :22:39. | :22:41.
what it feels like. People say that you are lucky to win one of these | :22:42. | :22:45.
cups in your lifetime and to win three is unbelievable. | :22:46. | :22:47.
St Pat's Maghera retained the MacRory Cup with a 1-12 to 1-8 win | :22:48. | :22:51.
over Omagh CBS in Armagh. But the holders had to come from behind. | :22:52. | :22:54.
Omagh led at half time thanks to Conan McElduff's goal after 12 | :22:55. | :22:59.
minutes. St Pat's bounced back with five opening points in the second | :23:00. | :23:02.
half and Danny Tallon scored a vital goal. It was the schools 14th | :23:03. | :23:10.
success in the competition. -- the school's. They will now try and | :23:11. | :23:14.
defend their All Ireland Colleges Hogan Cup title. Undescribable, that | :23:15. | :23:21.
field. Words cannot explain it. It is real. This year it is really | :23:22. | :23:25.
special because it is our last year in this competition and we won it. | :23:26. | :23:30.
We knew we had to win the game unfortunately we did. | :23:31. | :23:33.
The third schools final today was in football. -- and fortunately. De La | :23:34. | :23:37.
Salle won the Belfast Senior Cup. They beat St Mary's Grammar School | :23:38. | :23:40.
3-2 at New Grosvenor, thanks to goals by Nathan Watters, Liam | :23:41. | :23:43.
McKenna and Chris McGuinness. De La Salle last lifted the trophy in | :23:44. | :23:48.
2010. There are just six games left in the | :23:49. | :23:52.
race for the Irish League title. Just two points separate the top two | :23:53. | :23:55.
teams. Linfield maintained their lead at the weekend after a 3-0 win | :23:56. | :23:58.
over Dungannon Swifts, helped by this Andy Waterworth goal. | :23:59. | :24:01.
Cliftonville, the champions, saw off Warrenpoint 2-0. Liam Boyce | :24:02. | :24:06.
continued his goal scoring streak netting his 22nd of the season. | :24:07. | :24:10.
And in The League of Ireland, Derry City lost their first home game of | :24:11. | :24:14.
the new Premier Division 1-0 to Cork. | :24:15. | :24:17.
In Gaelic Football's National League at the weekend there were wins for | :24:18. | :24:22.
Tyrone, Down, Fermanagh and Cavan. But the standout performance of the | :24:23. | :24:26.
weekend came from Derry. Brian McIver's side moved into second | :24:27. | :24:29.
place in Division One after an impressive victory over Dublin, the | :24:30. | :24:33.
current All Ireland champions. Mark Lynch, who was in rampant form, | :24:34. | :24:36.
scored a goal and eight points as Derry took it 1-16 to 13 points. | :24:37. | :24:45.
That is what I call a busy day and weekend of sport! | :24:46. | :24:52.
Stephen, thank you. Absolutely no complaints about the weather over | :24:53. | :24:55.
the Saint Patrick's weekend, what can you offer us for the rest of the | :24:56. | :25:00.
week? This it is still -- still too early to find out now that Saint | :25:01. | :25:05.
Patrick has turned to stone but it was not a bad day. Most places are | :25:06. | :25:11.
enjoying the dry evening and perhaps the odd spot of rain and drizzle. | :25:12. | :25:14.
One thing is for sure, for the rest of the week, it is going to be much | :25:15. | :25:19.
more unsettled. Certainly very windy for a few days, especially towards | :25:20. | :25:23.
Thursday with some gales expected. And eight, south-westerly winds and | :25:24. | :25:26.
scattered showers coming in. Some of those will be heavily during the | :25:27. | :25:30.
night but it is not going to be chilly. -- tonight, south-westerly | :25:31. | :25:34.
winds. That brings us into tomorrow. Unfortunately, it is not | :25:35. | :25:38.
going to be a great start and certainly wet. It will be windy and | :25:39. | :25:42.
rather grey. It will be an improving picture throughout the day. To begin | :25:43. | :25:47.
with, a blustery start for summer was with showers continuing to | :25:48. | :25:50.
comment. Towards the afternoon, the showers become fewer in number and | :25:51. | :25:53.
they will then out. In between, drier spells, great weather and not | :25:54. | :25:58.
an awful lot on offer in terms of sunshine. With any showers and | :25:59. | :26:06.
winds, it will feel a little colder -- a little colder than those | :26:07. | :26:12.
temperatures suggest. From sunshine in the West. As we go into tomorrow | :26:13. | :26:16.
evening, not very much will change. It will be drier but the winds will | :26:17. | :26:20.
stay quite gusty. Through the course of tomorrow night, largely dry with | :26:21. | :26:25.
temperatures staying between eight and nine degrees. Those are | :26:26. | :26:28.
temperatures normally that we have during the day. Not bad at all. A | :26:29. | :26:33.
very mild night to come. That sets us up nicely for Wednesday. It will | :26:34. | :26:37.
be largely dry, bright but quite windy. Temperatures may get up to 14 | :26:38. | :26:42.
degrees but when you take into account the strong winds, it may | :26:43. | :26:46.
feel a little bit colder than that out and about. At least it will be | :26:47. | :26:50.
largely dry towards the middle of the week. It will change either. By | :26:51. | :26:53.
the end of the day, you will theory and coming in from the west and by | :26:54. | :26:57.
the time we get into the early hours of Thursday morning, we will have a | :26:58. | :27:01.
band of heavy rain coming in. For Thursday, it will be very wet and | :27:02. | :27:05.
windy start to the day. Once the rain clears, it will cool down. | :27:06. | :27:08.
Temperatures back to normal by the end of the week. Colder, brighter | :27:09. | :27:12.
but with some scattered showers. ) thank you. The headlines: | :27:13. | :27:19.
