Good evening. A daughter of Jean McConville has said she's hopeful

that the family will raise the money to take a civil case against the

Sinn Fein President for the murder of her mother. Mrs McConville was

killed by the IRA in 1972, leaving her ten children orphaned. Gerry

Adams was released yesterday, after being in custody since Wednesday

night. He has always denied having anything to do with Jean

McConville's death. A file will be sent to the Public Prosecution

Service later this week, but it's thought that unless significant new

evidence comes to light he will not face any charge. Julie McCullough's

The news that Gerry Adams may not face any charge won't come as a

surprise to Jean McConville's daughter Helen. She wasn't convinced

anything would come out of the Sinn Fein President's arrest, but she is

hopeful the family will be able to raise enough money, to take a civil

case over the murder of their mother, more than 40 years ago.

At the minute, we are looking into, it is early days but it looks like

we have a strong case. We have had people approach us, willing to back

up, so it is looking good. I am 100% certain of what happened. Over years

there has been the same thing, I know when my mother was disappeared.

I know what I have went through, what members of the family went

through. It is an ongoing thing. It won't end until we get peace and

justice for my mother. Helen said she couldn't bear to

watch Gerry Adams speak at a press conference following his release

yesterday evening. During its he denied having anything to do with

Jean McConville's murder, and raised questions about the handling of his

arrest. Those who authorised my arrest and detention could have done

it differently. They had discancer, they did not

have to use pernicious, coercive legislation to deal with the legacy

issue, even one as serious as this. Which I was voluntarily prepared to

deal with. They did not have do that in the middle of an election cam

pain, remember, I contacted them two months ago.

David Ford said Mr Adams had a part in the timing of the questioning and

wasn't sure why he was criticising the police for it. The DUP's Nigel

Dodds told BBC Newsline the arrest showed nobody was above the law. But

be first and foremost and centre in everybody's thoughts, not the self

confidence that they fully support policing and justice. This deal was

done between themselves and DUP in 2010, to devolving these power, we

voted against, the last few days have vindicated our position. We are

not mature, we are not ready to take full control of these issues, it is

up to Sinn Fein to show we are wrong.

A meeting between the Polish Consul and senior police officers is

expected to be held tomorrow to discuss a recent spate of attacks in

east Belfast, which the police have blamed on the UVF. In the latest

incident, the homes of three Polish families in Roslyn Street were

daubed with graffiti. The homes also had their windows smashed in a week

ago. The police are treating the attacks on the properties as hate

crimes. The Ulster Folk Museum has been

celebrating its 50th anniversary. Since it opened in 1964, more than

50 buildings have been transported brick by brick and faithfully

rebuilt at Cultra. They tell the story of everyday life a century

ago. Today's celebrations included traditional music and food cooked on

an open fire. The museum is one of Northern Ireland's most popular

tourist attractions, with more than 160,000 people and animals visiting

each year. The 31st Belfast Marathon has been

won by the Kenyan runner Freddy Sittuk. He finished the men's race

in 2 hours 18 minutes and 30 seconds. Bayrush Shiferaw from

Ethiopia won the women's in 2 hours 41 minutes and 20 seconds. More than

18,000 people took part in this year's race, team relay and

wheelchair event. The event is used by many charities to highlight their

appeals. For some runners just getting over the line was enough -

others were intent on going that extra mile.

There was 14 people on the team. It took just over five hours, the legs

are heavy. This is the long longest time of my life. I am delighted to

Vincish it. I a good achievement. I wanted to raise a bit of extra money

so I promised my followers if I got to ?100 I would run in a wedding

dress, they donated 200, so we are happy. Had to run the ball gown.

Well the weather was not kind. Hello, hope I know you had a nice

times, but well done to all those who took part in the marathon. The

weather front, the area of rain is shrinking, so it is showery at the

moment and the cloud is not overcast, although there will be

hints of brightness, the gusty wind will ease away, by the end of the

weather to come tomorrow. In the sunshine temperatures will reach the

thunderstorms, that moves on to the west coast of Ireland tomorrow

afternoon and will come eastwards towards us late in the day and

through tomorrow evening, so there could be one or two heavy downpours

late the day, although despite that, temperatures will be higher, round

Looking at the rest of the week, as we head towards giro weekend,

overall it is an unsettled picture. On Wednesday there will be a lot of

cloud. Cooler as well, with showery rain on and off through the day.
