Good evening. The DUP has won the lion's share of seats in the 11 new

supercouncils. Voting was completed in the early hours of this morning.

The fallout from the elections continued with the Alliance MP,

Naomi Long, in a row with the DUP over East Belfast. Our political

correspondent, Martina Purdy, reports. The count in the council

elections is barely over but already parted at getting up what it might

mean for next year's General Election, particularly in east

Belfast. The DUP is determined to win back the seat it lost to

Alliance four years ago. The DUP has suggested talks with the Ulster

Unionist do deals. A brief that does not sit well with this MP. They

didn't say the DUP would take the seat. In that the person that they

have in order to be Misys yes was pleaded with our -- pleading with

other Unionist and beaten up for pleaded -- physically and

metaphorically for them to fall apart. In a fair fight, they could

not win. Also speaking on Sunday politics, the DUP hit back. What you

have to do is look at the number of votes each party in each of the DA

's that make up East Belfast. You do not come up with the Alliance party

being top. That is actually crystal clear. What she said about Gavin

Robinson was disgraceful and incorrect. Tensions are unlikely to

ease as the count up begins tomorrow.

Police have charged two men after a racist attack on a man in Lisburn

yesterday afternoon. The 35-year-old victim managed to escape and get

help at a nearby pub. Andy West reports. A secluded toe past. This

absolutely. Police looked on CCTV and swooped on a teenager as he

walked back down the tow path. Today an 18 and 22-year-old were charged

with a number of offences including assault, possessive and effective

weapon and threats to kill. A 16 old boy was released. The victim's

injuries were not life-threatening but he has been left badly shaken.

The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church has criticised remarks made

by an evangelical preacher who described Islam as "heathen" and

"Satanic". But members of Pastor James McConnell's church in north

Belfast, today said, they supported his comments. Martin Cassidy

reports. It was business as usual at Pastor

McConnell was in the Church in North fast as members of the congregation

arrived for a morning service. The evangelical coming's about Islam

last Sunday provoked criticism but not within his own church, it seems.

He said whatever body is thinking. They are. We been dominated by the

Muslims. There is a lot of things said that I would not be happy

about. I am kind of balance, you know.

At last Sunday public service he described Muslims as heathen and

Satanic. He taught aggregation that, a new evil has arisen. These

comments have been described as irresponsible by the Belfast Islamic

centre. Now one of the main churches has condemned his attack. Speaking

on BBC radio Oster, the moderator of the church said the Pastor's words

were unacceptable. I would be deeply offended if

someone were to brand or Presbytarians or Christians with

some extreme act, by someone who claim to do it in the name of

Christ. I want to treat my neighbour as I would want to be treated

myself. Pastor McConnell doesn't grow comments have resulted in a

piece investigation church attendance does not appear to have

been affected. Sunday service from this church is usually streamed live

on the Internet making it available to the wider world. Not today. The

reason is not clear. So far, Pastor McConnell's comment this week are

being shared only with those inside the church.

Golf and Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy has won the PGA championship

at Wentworth. It's his first European Tour win since 2012. The

25-year-old, who announced last week he had split with fiancee, Caroline

Wozniacki, carded a six-under-par 66 to beat Ireland's Shane Lowry.

In Gaelic football, Donegal have beaten Derry by one goal and 11

points to 11 points. Leo McLoone scored the decisive goal at Celtic

Park just before half time. With Derry replacement James Kielt sent
