home at the time and were asked by officers to leave at 7am this

morning. Army bomb experts were called to the scene a controlled

explosion was carried out. The police described the device as

viable and say it could have caused serious or worse. The family are in

shock. They are traumatised. The rest of the community who were

disrupted this morning are also traumatised and fearful. The device

was viable. The Army tactical officer claimed it could have

exploded. Any device of this kind is capable of causing injury. The

police said there is no clear motivation for the attack and has

police said there is no clear forensic investigation.

This nursing home has been a family business for more than 20 years. Its

owner has decided to close. Just 15 residents remain and it is no longer

financially sustainable. The lack of new residents has been blamed on the

health trust's policy of caring for more people in their own homes,

rather than in residential care. There have also been fewer

admissions from the Republic after a change in policy on funding care

across the border. It will have a devastating impact on the town of

the leak. The loss of 40 jobs, to the families of the residents that

have been living here. It was such a family-oriented establishments. You

could pop in at any time during the day to visit your family and

friends. The Western Health Trust says it regrets the move taken by

the management but recognises the challenges that nursing homes face.

The task has begun to find the remaining residents somewhere to

live. They will have to travel to Enniskillen to nursing homes there.

That will take 40 minutes. It may only be won to twice a week they

will be able to see their parents. One of the residents moved to a new

home this morning and the others will soon follow. Closure of this

home is expected to be completed in the next two weeks.
