There has been minor trouble in Belfast city centre

:00:00.:00:09.

Some objects, including fireworks, plastic bottles,

:00:10.:00:12.

Two people suffered minor injuries during the trouble in Belfast city

:00:13.:00:18.

Mark Simpson was there for BBC Newsline.

:00:19.:00:22.

Sunday afternoon in Belfast city centre.

:00:23.:00:25.

This is just outside the Castlecourt shopping centre on Royal Avenue.

:00:26.:00:31.

The Republican parade went through the middle of the city on

:00:32.:00:33.

The police managed to keep the protesters and the parade separate.

:00:34.:00:43.

But they couldn't stop some missiles being thrown.

:00:44.:00:47.

Loyalists claimed that some republicans had taunted them

:00:48.:00:49.

They mentioned every atrocity they could think of, they were shouting

:00:50.:01:05.

and laughing. If they were serious, that is not the kind of language

:01:06.:01:11.

that should come from any parade. What about the things that were

:01:12.:01:16.

thrown? It should not happen, it was wrong.

:01:17.:01:18.

It only took about 15 minutes for the parade to pass through

:01:19.:01:21.

the city centre, but almost 1,000 police officers were on duty.

:01:22.:01:25.

It is a sophisticated operation, they are not just watching the

:01:26.:01:36.

parade, they are looking ahead and blocking roads. The security

:01:37.:01:39.

operation cost thousands of pounds, and many local businesses last

:01:40.:01:48.

afternoon trade. This is one parade that Republicans and others are

:01:49.:01:53.

holding in the city centre, it is our home, everyone has the rights to

:01:54.:01:58.

parade through it. In spite of cost and disruption? Yes, what cost human

:01:59.:02:04.

rights? A petrol bomb has been thrown into

:02:05.:02:10.

the garden of a house in Portadown. It happened on the Westland Road

:02:11.:02:13.

just after half past five this morning.

:02:14.:02:15.

A fence was damaged. Police are working to establish

:02:16.:02:17.

a motive. Cannabis plants with

:02:18.:02:19.

an estimated street value of ?100,000 have been seized

:02:20.:02:21.

by police in County Fermanagh. They were found in a search

:02:22.:02:25.

of a house in Ports Road Police also took away cannabis

:02:26.:02:28.

cultivation equipment. Golf and Northern Ireland's Rory

:02:29.:02:36.

McIlroy is due to tee-off in just over an hour?s time at

:02:37.:02:38.

the USPGA Championship in Valhalla. The World number one goes

:02:39.:02:41.

into the final day's play one shot ahead of his rivals - after leading

:02:42.:02:45.

the tournament from the start. He is in her very calm state of

:02:46.:03:00.

mind, he knows what he has to do and it matters to him, so I think he

:03:01.:03:03.

would be OK. One home has suffered flood damage

:03:04.:03:11.

after heavy rain The area worst affected was

:03:12.:03:13.

at O'Neill Avenue. Two fire crews were called to

:03:14.:03:16.

pump out the excess water. At 11am this morning, we had some

:03:17.:03:28.

appliances sent to this address, on arrival, we were met with addresses

:03:29.:03:34.

with water around them. We got the pump to work and we are currently

:03:35.:03:38.

using it to defuse the water to a different location.

:03:39.:03:47.

Let's return to that report on Rory McIlroy now.

:03:48.:03:52.

He is in a very calm state of mind...

:03:53.:03:58.

And is the heavy rain going to continue?

:03:59.:04:01.

Here's Cecilia Daly with the weather forecast.

:04:02.:04:09.

The heavy rain came to us today courtesy of hurricane Bertha. Some

:04:10.:04:18.

heavy wind to northern Britain. It might been tropical in origin, there

:04:19.:04:22.

was nothing tropical about our weather today, temperatures well

:04:23.:04:26.

below where they should be but this time of year. Thankfully, an

:04:27.:04:30.

improvement for the week ahead. Some showers, some gaps in between, the

:04:31.:04:35.

breeze making it feel cool. Temperatures close to average,

:04:36.:04:40.

higher than today. The good news is, some drier, brighter, sunnier

:04:41.:04:44.

weather to look forward to at the end of the week. The worst of the

:04:45.:04:47.

rain clearing away to the north-east. Windy on the coast and

:04:48.:04:52.

some showers moving through tonight, so it will be wet with some clear

:04:53.:05:01.

skies tonight also. Because of the breeze, temperatures will not be

:05:02.:05:05.

much lower than nine or 10 degrees. Tomorrow, some brightness, but also

:05:06.:05:08.

some showers and it will feel cool in the breeze. Take an umbrella with

:05:09.:05:13.

you. The shares should move quick swiftly, one or two could be sharp

:05:14.:05:19.

around lunch time. -- the rain showers should move quickly. A mix

:05:20.:05:23.

of sunshine and showers down south with some heavy showers in the

:05:24.:05:27.

West. The remnants of her kin brother bringing heavy rain to the

:05:28.:05:32.

north-east of Scotland tomorrow. -- the remnants of hurricane Bertha.

:05:33.:05:39.

Some sunshine and blustery showers after that. Tomorrow, temperatures

:05:40.:05:44.

higher than today, 17, 18 degrees in Belfast and in the south-east. One

:05:45.:05:51.

or two heavy showers around also. On Tuesday, some sunshine but also some

:05:52.:05:57.

sharp showers and temperatures between 16 and 18 degrees.

:05:58.:06:00.

Continuing with a mix of sunshine and showers on Wednesday, but

:06:01.:06:04.

Thursday on words, drier and brighter.

:06:05.:06:07.

Apologies for the technical problems we have had today, more details on
