This is BBC Newsline with Donna Traynor.

:00:10.:00:11.

A car has crashed into a crowd of people in south Belfast, injuring

:00:12.:00:14.

We've just received these pictures from the scene of the incident

:00:15.:00:21.

which happened at the junction of Apollo Road and Falcon Road just

:00:22.:00:24.

off the Boucher Road at around half past eight tonight.

:00:25.:00:27.

The emergency services are still there.

:00:28.:00:28.

The Ambulance Service says four males and two females are

:00:29.:00:30.

among those injured and are being treated for a combination

:00:31.:00:33.

A man in his twenties has been arrested.

:00:34.:00:42.

A High Court judge has ruled that the grounds for an abortion in

:00:43.:00:45.

Northern Ireland should be extended and that as it stands the law

:00:46.:00:47.

Under current legislation a termination is only permitted

:00:48.:00:53.

if the pregnancy jeopardises the life of the mother or would have

:00:54.:00:56.

a long term impact on her mental or physical health.

:00:57.:00:59.

Our reporter David Maxwell was in the court...

:01:00.:01:10.

Sarah Ewart's situation brought the abortion laws into sharp focus. A

:01:11.:01:17.

scan showed her baby had a fatal foetal knock abnormality and she

:01:18.:01:21.

travelled to England for a termination. She could not legally

:01:22.:01:26.

have one here. That prompted a public consultation on abortion. The

:01:27.:01:29.

Department of Justice propose that fatal foetal abnormality be included

:01:30.:01:34.

in the limited circumstances where abortions can take place. The

:01:35.:01:37.

Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission took a judicial review

:01:38.:01:40.

saying that the department did not go far enough. It wanted to include

:01:41.:01:45.

pregnancies that result from rape or incest as well. In his ruling the

:01:46.:01:49.

judge concluded that the law as it stands reaches the human rights of

:01:50.:01:53.

women whose babies could not survive outside the womb and those who are

:01:54.:02:18.

pregnant as a result of a sex crime. Sarah Ewart's mother was in court.

:02:19.:02:20.

Probably for a lot of women like Sarah it is not polite but sheer

:02:21.:02:23.

belief that they are going to get the medical help at long last and

:02:24.:02:26.

they can move on with their families. Just have the right

:02:27.:02:28.

medical treatment that they need. The Department of Justice has

:02:29.:02:30.

recognised that in cases of foetal abnormality they want to bring

:02:31.:02:32.

forward legislation. They had canvassed the issue on sexual crimes

:02:33.:02:35.

but decided not to. It is not a big step for them now to decide on the

:02:36.:02:37.

site -- circumstances of the judgment to legislate for the

:02:38.:02:39.

victims of sexual crimes. These women are victims but we cannot make

:02:40.:02:42.

a victim out of the numbered child by destroying its life. We must

:02:43.:02:45.

provide care and support for those women, destroying an unborn child in

:02:46.:02:50.

these circumstances is still wrong. Some say the assembly should have

:02:51.:02:54.

privacy in these matters, point addressed by the High Court judge.

:02:55.:02:58.

Mr justice Horner said that given the Northern Ireland Executive is

:02:59.:03:02.

unlikely to address this matter in the foreseeable future and given

:03:03.:03:17.

that Northern Ireland citizens are entitled to have their rights

:03:18.:03:19.

protected by the courts, there was a need for a change to the law as it

:03:20.:03:22.

stands. This ruling marks a considerable step towards a

:03:23.:03:24.

relaxation of abortion laws relating to sexual crimes and fatal foetal

:03:25.:03:26.

abnormality but it will take a further court hearing in two weeks'

:03:27.:03:28.

time to determine if the new legislation is required.

:03:29.:03:31.

And there'll be more discussion on the issue of abortion on

:03:32.:03:34.

Good Morning Ulster tomorrow - that's on BBC Radio Ulster starting

:03:35.:03:36.

Two men have been shot in the legs in west Belfast.

:03:37.:03:42.

The shooting was inside a pigeon club at

:03:43.:03:44.

Two masked men burst into the building

:03:45.:03:46.

It's understood they're both in a stable condition in hospital.

:03:47.:03:58.

I am very surprised that these men have been shot today inside a bar

:03:59.:04:04.

where people were working and socialising, trying to get a bar

:04:05.:04:07.

where people were working and socialising, trying to get another

:04:08.:04:12.

daily an attack on the two men and on the community as well, where

:04:13.:04:17.

people are instilling fear and I think it is wrong.

:04:18.:04:19.

The victims of a racist hate crime say they've been overwhelmed

:04:20.:04:21.

A mother and her two children were in the house in Antrim

:04:22.:04:26.

Her husband was in India attending his father's funeral.

:04:27.:04:29.

Home with his wife after her life and the lives of their two young

:04:30.:04:39.

children were threatened during Friday's early-morning arson attack.

:04:40.:04:45.

He was 5000 miles away, attending the funeral of his father in India.

:04:46.:04:49.

The family car was destroyed and the side of the house was badly damaged.

:04:50.:04:54.

I am still in shock. I just came back last night. I felt really down.

:04:55.:05:04.

What my wife and children went through, it is really bad. Really

:05:05.:05:10.

bad experience. The children aged eight and ten are still traumatised

:05:11.:05:15.

by what happened. Still they are in shock. They are getting up at

:05:16.:05:20.

night, they have had a nightmare, it is scary, scary dreams, they are

:05:21.:05:24.

seen them at night and they are calling me at night-time. There are

:05:25.:05:29.

still in shock. Since the attack, thousands of pounds has been raised

:05:30.:05:33.

by a fund to replace the burned-out car. The family appreciate the

generosity, but say that those A new law is to go through

policy. The Education Minister hopes it

:05:54.:05:56.

will come into effect next year. As our

:05:57.:05:59.

Education Correspondent Robbie Meredith reports, the legislation

:06:00.:06:00.

will require schools to do more. For these pupils at this time we

:06:01.:06:05.

school in Newton Arms, school is a place of learning, safety and

:06:06.:06:08.

friendship. We have a number of systems in place in the school that

:06:09.:06:11.

we employ to protect the children. Foremost is the use of a buddy

:06:12.:06:15.

system where we have the peas seven children come down and they play

:06:16.:06:20.

with the younger children and they highlight any issues or problems

:06:21.:06:24.

that are rising so that we can get is nipped in the bud. Studies show

:06:25.:06:28.

that around a third of schoolchildren in Northern will have

:06:29.:06:51.

experience billion. The due Bill tries to tackle that by providing a

:06:52.:06:53.

legal definition of bullying, it requires schools to record all

:06:54.:06:55.

incidents and makes boards of governors responsible for

:06:56.:06:57.

anti-bullying policy. It is a positive move in terms of all the

:06:58.:07:00.

schools will be singing from the same hymn sheet. The provision has

:07:01.:07:02.

been variable. An earlier consultation said that was little

:07:03.:07:04.

legal basis for a school to get involved in allegations of

:07:05.:07:06.

cyberbullying outside school. This expert thinks that is correct.

:07:07.:07:08.

Cyberbullying, although growing, is not the most common form of

:07:09.:07:11.

bullying. The most recent statistics from the Department show that you

:07:12.:07:15.

are four times more likely to be verbally bullied than cyber

:07:16.:07:20.

bullied. That is not to play down the importance of cyberbullying, but

:07:21.:07:25.

it is important that we keep things in perspective. While unfortunately

:07:26.:07:45.

it is not a problem that is ever likely to be totally conquered, the

:07:46.:07:48.

aim of the new laws is to give as much more comprehensive

:07:49.:07:49.

understanding of the scale of bullying in our schools. Ultimately,

:07:50.:07:50.

better prevention and more tears. Father Gerry Reynolds - who played

:07:51.:07:51.

key roles in cross community work Fr Reynolds was deeply committed

The weather forecast with Cecilia Daly.

:08:26.:08:31.

We're looking at a changeable Wake, tomorrow a complete reversal after

:08:32.:08:39.

the cold weather today. It will be much milder for the start of

:08:40.:08:43.

December and December is the start of the meteorological season of

:08:44.:08:47.

winter. It will get colder later in the way, particularly on Thursday

:08:48.:08:52.

with frost and ice. Julie at the moment, but becoming mired as the

:08:53.:08:58.

rain pushes them. Some rain, heavy and the winds will pick up and wet

:08:59.:09:04.

start for Tuesday with the possibility of localised flooding

:09:05.:09:07.

tomorrow morning. The rain will move away quickly by the middle of the

:09:08.:09:11.

morning, it has eased off and it will be drier, some dry spells

:09:12.:09:15.

through the rest of the day, still quite blustery. Across Scotland and

:09:16.:09:19.

parts of northern England, rain will fall as snow, icy conditions as

:09:20.:09:26.

well, but milder area pushing in. Lots of cloud, brief bits of

:09:27.:09:29.

brightness and still bits and pieces of rain but it will be somewhat

:09:30.:09:34.

drier compared to the morning. Not a bad afternoon, some dry gaps around,

:09:35.:09:39.

particularly in the east and south. A complete contrast to today,

:09:40.:09:43.

despite the blustery wind. It is still miles initially on Wednesday

:09:44.:09:48.

but as the early dampness moves away, we will see cooler are moving

:09:49.:09:53.

in, cold night on Wednesday, a sharp frost on Thursday morning, sunshine

:09:54.:09:55.

on Thursday before the rain is back Our next BBC Newsline is
