School friends of the teenager who died in a house fire

in County Down have attended a service in her memory.

200 pupils, staff and local people gathered the school to pray for her

smoke-filled bedroom but efforts to revive her failed and she died there

in the early hours of Saturday. Today her friends were offered

counselling and many of them wept through the religious service. We

are not going to find solutions for why Ellen was taken at such a young

age and in such a tragic way, but we can be with one another and we can

support one another as we journey through this grief and trauma

together. I think at the school we are a close-knit and everyone has

come together and with social media, we have been vocal in terms of the

heartbreak. Everyone is devastated. Ellen was said to light up every

class she was then, the school and the community have lost a warm

loving generous young woman who was also an accomplished sportswomen. It

is just... An addictive personality. So bubbly and so friendly to

everyone. She will be so missed. She was a great friend to everyone and

she was always there, no matter if you only met her once. Ellen had

repeated a year here at Assumption Grammar so at 19 she was about to

sit her final A-level exams. She had been offered a place at a university

in Liverpool so a life of fun and ambition cut short in a fire on

Saturday morning. Two men have been arrested

on suspicion of attempted murder after an incident in

North Belfast this morning. The police were called to Woodvale

of the week, with Cecilia Daly: Paolo. The cold air is moving away

from us and it will be milder tonight, wet at times but that will

help for any snow still lying over the hills in County Antrim and

County Down. It should not be icy anywhere as temperatures will stay

mild for the time of year but it will be rather damp and drizzly, at

least to start with this week, Monday and Tuesday, damp, drier on

Wednesday and as the breeze picks up we should see some sunshine and then

add on deck areas of low pressure moving towards the end of the week.

Tomorrow, to start with on Monday, it is damp, drizzly, lots of mist

and low cloud over the hills, foggy on some high-level roads, but no ice

or frost. If you're travelling, snow will affect parts of Scotland and it

will be icy over northern England, that is where the cold air is in

northern and eastern areas of Britain. Not so cold in the south or

across the Republic of Ireland and it will be rain and drizzle around

in coastal areas. Inland, many parts of Northern Ireland will dry up,

drizzle never too far away and it will be quite cloudy but

temperatures are where they should be for the time of year. On Tuesday,

the cold air continues to affect the north and east of Britain whereas in

the south and West will not be as cold and many places although cloudy

will not be particularly wet. Wednesday likes -- looks like being

a dry day with brightness developing. The next area of low

pressure will threaten on Thursday, that is one area of low pressure but

as I pull out you can see across the Atlantic there are several areas of

low pressure which will mean rain and strong winds and they will

eventually push all the cold air away from the east of Britain by the

end of the week. So one Thursday, the first area of low pressure

brings rain or maybe snow in Scotland, also some milder air,

temperatures getting into double digits. We have a mixed week coming

up, dull and damp to begin with Northern Ireland, brighter on

Wednesday, wet and eventually milder by the end of the week but with some
