A vigil has been held in Buncrana one week on

from the drowning accident that claimed the lives of five people.

It was attended by Louise James who lost her partner,

two sons, mother and sister when their car slipped

Her four month old baby daughter was saved.

Close to the pier where the tragedy occurred, they gathered. Exactly one

week on. I welcome you as members of this community here in Buncrana. I

welcome you from different communities. People came from both

sides of the border, also there with those who try to help last week when

the cast that into the water. Louise Jameson left Herb Parnell, two sons,

her mother and sister. She spoke briefly at last they's service. She

said you was grateful for the all the help she has received.

Generosity, everything. Thank you so much. She has exhibited tremendous

strength and dignity over the past week, especially at her home during

the week and at the funeral mass and homely family and even here tonight.

And for somebody who is naturally shy, it is not an easy thing to do

but yet she just feels the need to thank people for their kindness. She

brought her form of old daughter to the service to, the little baby was

the only survivor of the tragedy that occurred here last week.

There are reports that the police have come under attack

There were also attempts to put bins on the railway line

The track is closed because of the trouble

and rail passengers are being taken by bus

Overnight, petrol bombs were thrown at police and a van was hijacked

in Kilwilkie, abandoned on the railway crossing

Today, the people's day. O'Connell Street, it belonged to them after

big unappreciative cards. A family fun day out that struck the right

their preparations for this summer's European Football championships

The weather forecast is next and with the latest details,

One or two will continue through because of the night but many of us
