A leading member of Sinn Fein has said the Ulster Unionists

and the SDLP should go into opposition if they're not

prepared to go into the new Executive to govern.

Ahead of negotiations set to begin at Stormont tomorrow the two parties

say they will consider what's in the new programme

Here's our political correspondent Gareth Gordon.

Stormont is ready to welcome its next intake.

Tomorrow, these parties will be around a different table

trying to agree a programme for government.

But who will last long enough to make it to the Executive table?

The polls delivered disappointing results

for the Ulster Unionists and Sinn Fein.

I hope they went to the Executive to govern, not to be in opposition.

If they want to be in opposition, go outside it and be in opposition.

I don't fear them being in opposition.

We will be going up to the Assembly tomorrow morning

and talking to the other parties but we want to see what the content

-- what the content of 40 programme government aid. -- what the content

of the programme for government is. If the content is strong

and delivers some of our key policy pledges, we will

be in government. If it does not, we will need

to consider our position. We will not be going in to see

about the discussions. We will see if we can trust

the people and if it is a forward-thinking programme and if we

can trust the other parties. But after not making

the gains they had forecast, Alliance wonder whether

they will even be part We would want to be there

being able to influence But it depends whether other parties

will want us to be there. It's not for me to dole out

munificence to Naomi Long But a week ago you

seemed to suggest... They are presently an Executive

party so I imagine they would be part

of the discussions. 29 brand-new MLAs will be part

of the next Assembly. Whether anything else will change,

we will soon find out. Sinn Fein have condemned

the DUP MP Gregory Campbell for comments he made on Facebook

about the re-election of Sinn Fein Mr Campbell congratulated Mr

McCartney on his excellent election results,

saying he was breaking the habit of a lifetime

by sending him best wishes. He said Mr McCartney had been more

successful at electioneering Sinn Fein have called on Mr

Campbell to withdraw the comments. We are talking about

going in with the DUP to discuss a programme for

government and have mutual trust. And he is away now to Westminster to

retire and I wish him well staying There is a lot of contrived

anger around this. I think it was a throwaway,

joking remark. I think a lot of those

who are expressing fury were at some of the Twitter comments that

have been made recently by the eccentric president of

Sinn Fein. A look ahead now to a story coming

today and it looks like it's It is warming up nicely. Today was

the warmest day of the year so far. Tomorrow looks set to top that.

Through the night it will stay dry and be a mild night. Certainly no

need for the winter duvet. As for the coming week, a pretty good one.

Plenty of dry and warm weather especially during the first half of

the week. Thanks to this air coming in of the Atlantic helping our

temperatures climb higher than they should be. Best temperatures are

expected away from the coast. If you have got tomorrow of what, you have

picked a good day. We are expecting high UV levels, so keep the sun

cream and the shades handy. Beginning tomorrow, there will be

plenty of dry weather. The sunshine will be out. It cool easterly breeze

will make it cooler in Eastern counties. Elsewhere in land it will

be pleasant and warm. The further north you are tomorrow, the better.

Towards the south coast, Munster, a bit wet. And on the south coast of

England, some rain. But plenty of blue skies further north. Tomorrow

evening, not a bad one if you want to prepare the barbecues. It will

set us up for another mild night overnight into Tuesday which will

also be a fine day with plenty of warm. -- plenty of warmth. We also

hold onshore breeze so parts of Antrim and down feeling cooler.

Temperatures likely to stay in the high teens. At the weekend, we come
