Good evening, the headlines on BBC Newsline: The negotiations | :00:19. | :00:21.
on forming a Government start tomorrow. | :00:22. | :00:24.
The DUP and bike in the Stormont. The two will be joining them around | :00:25. | :00:36.
the table? The negotiations around forming a Government start tomorrow. | :00:37. | :00:40.
Already, our new MLAs have been finding their way around Parliament | :00:41. | :00:41.
buildings. A protestor climbs onto an oil drill | :00:42. | :00:44.
as the standoff continues The Ashers gay cake case goes | :00:45. | :00:46.
to the Appeal Court and their lawyer says staff could not sin | :00:47. | :00:51.
by going against their consciences. Also on the programme tonight: | :00:52. | :00:53.
The plane that sailed rather than flew to its new home | :00:54. | :00:56.
on a Sligo campsite. Bolster rugby's season has burst | :00:57. | :01:07.
into life and they are now just one step away from the final. | :01:08. | :01:09.
people have been making the most of the warmest day of the year! | :01:10. | :01:19.
Negotiations on a what a new Government at Stormont | :01:20. | :01:21.
will look like are set to begin tomorrow morning. | :01:22. | :01:31.
It's expected that Arlene Foster and Martin McGuinness will be | :01:32. | :01:34.
re-appointed as First and Deputy First Ministers. | :01:35. | :01:35.
Let's see the make up of the MLAs benches and the likely shape | :01:36. | :01:38.
The first meeting of the new Assembly is not until Thursday, but | :01:39. | :01:48.
inside here we can get a really good idea of what is going to look like. | :01:49. | :01:53.
The largest party, here they come, the DUP, 38 feet again. As for Sinn | :01:54. | :01:59.
Fein, 28 seats this time, that is one down on five years ago. As for | :02:00. | :02:04.
the other parties, the Ulster Unionists stay on 16, the SDLP are | :02:05. | :02:10.
down to on 12 and the Alliance Party stay at eight seats and the Green | :02:11. | :02:15.
Party have doubled their representation to two, people before | :02:16. | :02:19.
profit, the new kids on the block, they have two seats, the TUV leader | :02:20. | :02:24.
Jim Allister is bike as as the independent Claire Sugden. This is | :02:25. | :02:30.
the state of the parties in the new Stormont 2016. But how do all the | :02:31. | :02:34.
seats translate into seats at the executive table? Let us have a look. | :02:35. | :02:41.
As you can see, there are now fewer seats around the Executive table, | :02:42. | :02:46.
because we have fewer departments. The one thing hasn't changed, the | :02:47. | :02:50.
First Minister, there she is, Arlene Foster is back. Martin McGuinness is | :02:51. | :02:53.
also back as Deputy First Minister. The DUP will have three other | :02:54. | :02:58.
ministries, Sinn Fein will have two. The Ulster Unionists will be | :02:59. | :03:01.
entitled to one and the SDLP will be entitled to one as well. Will they | :03:02. | :03:06.
take them? If they decide not to go into opposition, their seats will go | :03:07. | :03:18.
to other parties. As you can see, we have one -- a spare seat he would | :03:19. | :03:21.
likely to go to the Alliance Party which is the justice ministry. It | :03:22. | :03:23.
was handed to the Alliance Party last time a cross community vote and | :03:24. | :03:26.
we think that is likely to happen again. But we will see. So this is a | :03:27. | :03:29.
possible shape of the new Executive table. Of course, we do not know yet | :03:30. | :03:31.
which party will take which minister, will be health, education | :03:32. | :03:34.
or finance? But we do know that Arlene Foster will have the first | :03:35. | :03:35.
pic. At Stormont it was moving-in day | :03:36. | :03:36.
for the new politicians They don't officially | :03:37. | :03:39.
become MLAs until Thursday But today they were shown | :03:40. | :03:42.
around the building Here's our political | :03:43. | :03:45.
correspondent, Gareth Gordon. It has been a very long journey to | :03:46. | :03:56.
Stormont for this veteran socialist, in more ways than one. I came back | :03:57. | :04:04.
here today and one of the reasons is that I prefer travelling by rail. If | :04:05. | :04:07.
I wanted to be reasonably certain that I'd reach displaced by 10am, I | :04:08. | :04:12.
would have to get the train from Derry at 6am. That is utterly | :04:13. | :04:17.
ridiculous in 2016. So that is one of the things I will be pursuing. | :04:18. | :04:23.
This pair are old adversaries from days gone by as interviewer and | :04:24. | :04:27.
interviewee. Today's discussion, the Stormont dress code. Personally, I | :04:28. | :04:37.
do think wearing a tie makes you a better legislator. So I'm pretty | :04:38. | :04:40.
relaxed about it, but I'll go with the flow in terms of the team and we | :04:41. | :04:45.
will discuss it and see whether they ask for real change and there will | :04:46. | :04:50.
make a decision. -- I do not think wearing a tie. Upstairs, under the | :04:51. | :04:53.
new member was being shown the ropes, Claire Bailey gets the office | :04:54. | :04:56.
vacated by the Ukip leader David McNarry. Rather, he just did not | :04:57. | :05:07.
stand for election. But there's a handy guide showing those who did | :05:08. | :05:12.
and got elected. I'll be sitting in between Eamon McCann and Jim | :05:13. | :05:15.
Allister, so I will need to learn that the ropes really fast to | :05:16. | :05:20.
maximise a time. This new Sinn Fein MLA was a research scientist in | :05:21. | :05:24.
agriculture and food before becoming a full-time politician. One of the | :05:25. | :05:28.
things I did during my campaign was publish a strategy for the cause way | :05:29. | :05:33.
area and it is about looking at development of the indigenous | :05:34. | :05:37.
industry that there and expanding on that, so that's something I'll be | :05:38. | :05:42.
pushing an hour. So we will all this new blood help improve relations? | :05:43. | :05:46.
Whenever I talk to people on the doorsteps, they said they wanted a | :05:47. | :05:48.
different type of politics, they were sick of what was going on years | :05:49. | :05:53.
ago in Stormont weather was a lot of fighting and bickering. They want to | :05:54. | :05:57.
see a new generation of all editions working on their behalf. The flag of | :05:58. | :06:00.
the EU is flying over the building today to mark Europe today, a | :06:01. | :06:04.
reminder that one election may be over, but another poll is just | :06:05. | :06:09.
around the corner. The only one who thinks the UK should vote to leave | :06:10. | :06:15.
the EU. If we look at the issues raised on the doorsteps with us, | :06:16. | :06:20.
it's really did confirm we took absolutely the right position in | :06:21. | :06:25.
relation to Brexit. A discussion for another day. | :06:26. | :06:30.
Our Political Editor Mark Devenport is at Stormont this evening. | :06:31. | :06:32.
Mark, you've been speaking to the First and Deputy First Ministers. | :06:33. | :06:35.
A pretty good mood and no doubt some of that was down to the weather, it | :06:36. | :06:45.
has been as sunny here as everywhere else in Northern Ireland, but in | :06:46. | :06:49.
Arlene Foster's case, she had more reason to feel elated, because | :06:50. | :06:53.
whilst they lost an MLA in one constituency, they gained one in | :06:54. | :06:56.
another and she came back with 38, which was exactly the same number | :06:57. | :07:00.
they had before. This was the first campaign as a party leader and it | :07:01. | :07:03.
was a very personalised campaign, so she took a great degree of | :07:04. | :07:06.
satisfaction from that. They're moving onto those talks on forming a | :07:07. | :07:10.
Government and I asked a Government and I ask the whole underachieving | :07:11. | :07:14.
they would take? We've set ourselves 14 days to have discussions around | :07:15. | :07:17.
the programme for Government and that doesn't necessarily mean we | :07:18. | :07:21.
will use those 14 days, I hope that we don't have to use them all and we | :07:22. | :07:25.
can get on to doing the job and work we've been set by the people. Will | :07:26. | :07:29.
Stormont be healthier if there's an opposition in this Monday? It's | :07:30. | :07:32.
entirely a matter for the other parties. Of course, in the past, | :07:33. | :07:36.
they've been in opposition inside the executive, so it may be more | :07:37. | :07:39.
honest for them to be in opposition outside of the Executive, but is a | :07:40. | :07:43.
matter to them for them in whether they want to join with us in bowling | :07:44. | :07:46.
a stronger and safer Northern Ireland. That is where my focus is. | :07:47. | :07:52.
A short time later I spoke to Martin McGuinness, of course, Sinn Fein | :07:53. | :07:55.
lost one MLA, but they did better than they need is opposition with | :07:56. | :08:00.
the SDLP who lost two are a Storm Katie team. Martin McGuinness | :08:01. | :08:05.
congratulated all the 100 MLA is what got successfully elected and he | :08:06. | :08:14.
told me what his take was on these... We will meet the Alliance | :08:15. | :08:20.
and the Unionist party and the SDLP and begin discussions around the | :08:21. | :08:23.
programme for Government. It will all be very inclusive. Would you | :08:24. | :08:29.
prefer it have the SDLP and Ulster Unionist inside the tent or not? I | :08:30. | :08:34.
would prefer that the SDLP and the bolster Unionists and if the | :08:35. | :08:38.
Alliance Party wish to take the justice ministry, I'd prefer them | :08:39. | :08:42.
all to be in the side the tents. The whole purpose of the Good Friday | :08:43. | :08:46.
Agreement was to have all of us in a power-sharing way, but working | :08:47. | :08:50.
constructively and positively and cohesively to ensure that we both a | :08:51. | :08:54.
better future for the people we represent. So absolutely, I want to | :08:55. | :08:59.
see everybody inside the tent. So as things stand we should be a bit | :09:00. | :09:03.
white in a fortnight, or maybe less, as to whether the SDLP and Ulster | :09:04. | :09:07.
Unionists will join the power-sharing coalition. The next | :09:08. | :09:10.
bit of business it will happen on Thursday when they are expecting | :09:11. | :09:13.
Martin McGuinness and Arlene Foster to be reconfirmed in their positions | :09:14. | :09:18.
-- positions and MLAs will lead to new speaker. | :09:19. | :09:22.
Still to come on the programme: A visit to County Down | :09:23. | :09:26.
for the man in charge of Europe's agriculture policy. | :09:27. | :09:29.
He encourages farmers to vote to remain in the European Union. | :09:30. | :09:38.
A soldier whose family are in Carrickfergus died | :09:39. | :09:40.
after he was assaulted in Wales yesterday. | :09:41. | :09:45.
Private Matthew Boyd who was 20, was found unconscious in Brecon. | :09:46. | :09:50.
A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder and | :09:51. | :09:55.
Matthew Boyd served in the Royal drug Walter Regiment. His family | :09:56. | :10:07.
moved there from Carrickfergus when he was a child. It is understood he | :10:08. | :10:13.
still have relatives here. Private Boyd was therefore a training | :10:14. | :10:16.
exercise and in the early hours of yesterday morning, he was assaulted | :10:17. | :10:21.
after leaving a pub in the town. He was found unconscious and later died | :10:22. | :10:27.
in hospital. The police arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of | :10:28. | :10:31.
murder yesterday, the second man -- and a second man aged 22 was | :10:32. | :10:35.
detained today. There is nothing to suggest that Matthew Boyd, being a | :10:36. | :10:40.
soldier, was any motivation for this assault. Nor is there any indication | :10:41. | :10:46.
that this is links to an act of terrorism. The Ministry of Defence | :10:47. | :10:49.
said in a statement that is false with the family, friends and the | :10:50. | :10:54.
Regiment of private Boyd and asked that their privacy is respected and | :10:55. | :10:56.
-- at this difficult time. An environmental protestor | :10:57. | :10:59.
who climbed on top of a drill being transported to an exploratory | :11:00. | :11:03.
oil well has come down. The site is at Woodburn | :11:04. | :11:06.
forrest near Carrickfergus. Our North East reporter | :11:07. | :11:08.
Sara Girvin was there. The police were expecting a protest | :11:09. | :11:22.
today, but they weren't expecting this. Just after 10am this morning, | :11:23. | :11:28.
this man climbed a drill head going to the forest and bought enough | :11:29. | :11:32.
supplies to stay there for two days. This is in the first protest at | :11:33. | :11:36.
Woodburn. Crowds have been gathering kit since February, worried that | :11:37. | :11:40.
drilling by fractures may pollute jinking water in thousands of homes | :11:41. | :11:44.
in the area and Northern Ireland water, who leased the site said they | :11:45. | :11:48.
are confident there is no threats. Speaking to the BBC from behind a | :11:49. | :11:52.
police barricade, Mark Chapman described his decision to climb the | :11:53. | :11:55.
drill as a spur of the moment thing. He said he had a bicycle lock with | :11:56. | :12:00.
him and the police attempted to remove him from the drill and he | :12:01. | :12:04.
chained himself to it. But just before 3pm, after negotiating with | :12:05. | :12:09.
the P S a night, you changed his mind and left the drill of his own | :12:10. | :12:15.
accord. He was arrested and released on -- placed on police bail. He said | :12:16. | :12:20.
he had no regrets. Committing a small scribe -- primer to prevent | :12:21. | :12:28.
the larger crime of elemental damage. -- to prevent the larger | :12:29. | :12:35.
crime of environmental damage. The jeweller made its way to the forest. | :12:36. | :12:39.
This particular part of the campaign may not have lasted as long as he | :12:40. | :12:44.
might have liked, but as you can see behind me, the protest at Woodburn | :12:45. | :12:46.
continues. The bakery at the centre of the "gay | :12:47. | :12:49.
cake" controversy is back in court. Ashers' Baking Company is trying | :12:50. | :12:52.
to overturn a ruling made last year that it unlawfully | :12:53. | :12:55.
discriminated against a customer. It's two years to the day that | :12:56. | :12:59.
an order for a cake with the slogan "Support Gay Marriage" was made | :13:00. | :13:03.
at the firm's Belfast branch. Back in court, the owners of Ashers' | :13:04. | :13:20.
Baking Company arrived for the hearing just a head of their son | :13:21. | :13:24.
Daniel. The general manager of the bakery along with his wife, Amy. A | :13:25. | :13:29.
Christian family appealing a decision made last year. A similar | :13:30. | :13:32.
case but by the quality commission on behalf of gay rights activist | :13:33. | :13:37.
Gareth Lee here on the right. The MIDI has made a lot of this being a | :13:38. | :13:41.
faith -based trial. It is about a man who walked into the shop to | :13:42. | :13:44.
years ago and did not get the service that he would expect. I do | :13:45. | :13:47.
not one Northern Ireland to be a lottery where when we go into a shop | :13:48. | :13:51.
or ask for a service that we have to second-guess the conscience of the | :13:52. | :13:55.
service provider. We are hoping that this court will rule we are not | :13:56. | :13:58.
required to endorse the view that goes against our conscience and | :13:59. | :14:05.
beliefs. This is never just been about one thing. It is clear that it | :14:06. | :14:10.
has always had implications for freedom of expression throughout the | :14:11. | :14:16.
UK. Counsel for the Ashers said the family had no idea about Gareth | :14:17. | :14:21.
Lee's sexual orientation and he had been in the bakery before. The | :14:22. | :14:24.
problem is not with a customer, but with the message on the cake which | :14:25. | :14:29.
was inconsistent with a family's deeply held beliefs. To provide such | :14:30. | :14:32.
a service would have been seen before. If edge sexual person had | :14:33. | :14:37.
bought a cake, the family said they would have responded the same way. | :14:38. | :14:41.
The hearing is expected to last three days. | :14:42. | :14:42.
A County Armagh man has appeared in court charged with the attempted | :14:43. | :14:45.
murder of a police officer in Eglinton last summer. | :14:46. | :14:47.
He's also accused of possession of semtex explosives. | :14:48. | :14:49.
Here's our North-West reporter, Keiron Tourish. | :14:50. | :14:58.
Before the court was this manner from Victoria Street. He's accused | :14:59. | :15:08.
of possessing Semtex explosives with attempts to endanger life. It | :15:09. | :15:12.
follows the discovery of a bomb in Eglington on June 18 last year. A | :15:13. | :15:16.
defence solicitor said the prosecution was missing essential | :15:17. | :15:19.
ingredient in relation to connecting the accused to the charges. He said | :15:20. | :15:23.
that the basis of the prosecution case was that there were low levels | :15:24. | :15:28.
of explosives and clothing taken from him in the Republic. He also | :15:29. | :15:32.
said the prosecution was relying on CCTV evidence about a vehicle the | :15:33. | :15:36.
accused was stabbed in Donegal. He said there was no evidence of it | :15:37. | :15:40.
being seen in Eglington. The defence solicitor said there was no | :15:41. | :15:44.
forensics DNA or fibre evidence linking the defendant to Eglington. | :15:45. | :15:49.
He called for a scientific reports to be disclosed to the defence. | :15:50. | :15:54.
District Judge said all material should be given to the defence | :15:55. | :15:59.
before the next hearing on May 16. Sean McVeigh was led away there was | :16:00. | :16:01.
applause from the public gallery. Irish language speakers have held | :16:02. | :16:04.
a demonstration outside the BBC's headquarters | :16:05. | :16:05.
on Ormeau Avenue in Belfast. A spokesman said it was organised | :16:06. | :16:07.
in protest at the BBC's disregard A BBC spokesperson said BBC | :16:08. | :16:10.
Northern Ireland produced a range of Irish language content | :16:11. | :16:16.
across television, radio and online which reflects commitments detailed | :16:17. | :16:19.
in the BBC's current Charter With six weeks to go | :16:20. | :16:21.
to the European referendum, Today the Agriculture Commissioner | :16:22. | :16:33.
Phil Hogan was in County Down, explaining why he thinks UK farmers | :16:34. | :16:37.
would be better off inside the EU. Our Agriculture correspondent | :16:38. | :16:40.
Conor Macauley reports. He's the big cheese of European | :16:41. | :16:58.
agriculture. And today, he was on Pat McCabe's farmer. Commissioner | :16:59. | :17:03.
Phil Hogan have the double persuading UK farmers their future | :17:04. | :17:09.
is inside European Union. It is linked to other places in the area. | :17:10. | :17:15.
And with mountains in the distance, where a potential new trade body | :17:16. | :17:18.
could be drunkenly focused on what farmers get from Europe in subsidy | :17:19. | :17:22.
payments and the easy access to a market for their produce. You're | :17:23. | :17:26.
better off sticking with a situation where you have 500 million consumers | :17:27. | :17:30.
rather than 60 million consumers in the context of the benefits for | :17:31. | :17:33.
trade that has been achieved already. There's no guarantee you'll | :17:34. | :17:36.
get the same terms of all conditions in the future. Farmers had come to | :17:37. | :17:41.
question the Commissioner. Bureaucracy, complaint about one | :17:42. | :17:45.
inspections and annoyance of prices -- over prices were all heard. He | :17:46. | :17:49.
heard about the frustration with the rules and regulations of Europe. The | :17:50. | :17:52.
kind of red tape he said he is trying to get rid of. There is no | :17:53. | :17:59.
sort of bullets, it will be a struggle and we are looking for | :18:00. | :18:03.
answers. We are on our knees looking for answers. We want to hear the | :18:04. | :18:06.
arguments from the outcome in as well, and until farmers here that, | :18:07. | :18:11.
there's a long way to go. One bit of good news for farmers like Pat McKay | :18:12. | :18:16.
today, beef will not now be part of a potential EU trade deal with South | :18:17. | :18:20.
America. The prospect of cheap meat flowing into Europe is off the menu | :18:21. | :18:28.
for now. If you're going on holiday this summer, your trip may involve | :18:29. | :18:32.
one of these. But you certainly wouldn't expect to find one on a | :18:33. | :18:37.
campsite. That is unless you had to County Sligo. As our reporter says, | :18:38. | :18:43.
the idea of using an unwanted plane as alternative accommodation almost | :18:44. | :18:45.
did not take off. Just get yourself a redundant | :18:46. | :18:56.
Russian Boeing 767 and use it as a ground level camping alternative. It | :18:57. | :19:01.
attempts to transport it by road hit some bureaucratic turbulence, so the | :19:02. | :19:04.
plane had to be loaded onto a barge and floated from Shannon airport to | :19:05. | :19:09.
a new site in County Sligo. There, it will be used by campers are what | :19:10. | :19:13.
some the more glamorous than a tent. I went after the plane and I got | :19:14. | :19:17.
one, I got a decommissioned plane and that was all very fine and all | :19:18. | :19:22.
right, but the logistics of moving a Boeing 767 from Shannon airport to | :19:23. | :19:26.
Sligo proved to be a little bit more challenging than I thought! Judging | :19:27. | :19:31.
by the curiosity shown already, it is definitely putting it on the map. | :19:32. | :19:41.
Glamping taken to new heights! A look ahead now to a story on BBC | :19:42. | :19:43.
Newsline tomorrow. With the details, here's our | :19:44. | :19:45.
north-west reporter, Keiron Tourish. I'm here at Old Trafford following | :19:46. | :19:52.
the journey of one young lad from PFA Awards we certainly had all the | :19:53. | :19:55.
talent and potential to make it big at the Theatre of dreams. Injury | :19:56. | :20:01.
halted his career and he tried -- tragically lost his life at the age | :20:02. | :20:05.
of 26. That is the ageing Doherty story on BBC Newsline. -- Adrian | :20:06. | :20:09.
Doherty. Now sport, and a very exciting | :20:10. | :20:11.
weekend of action and a thrilling And Ulster finished | :20:12. | :20:14.
in the top for of the Pro12 and now have a semifinal | :20:15. | :20:21.
trip to Dublin. A win away to Ospreys | :20:22. | :20:23.
secured a Play-Off spot and Leinster now block the path | :20:24. | :20:26.
to the final. The final whistle and Mission | :20:27. | :20:41.
accomplished! Season accomplished! Well, so far. All studied at a win | :20:42. | :20:46.
and Rory Best, Paddy Jackson and Andrew Trimble led the charge. Many | :20:47. | :20:55.
believe Paddy Jackson should be sparking Ulster into life. The | :20:56. | :20:59.
liberty stadium was the venue well is the last won the league ten years | :21:00. | :21:03.
ago. Plain that there was Rory Best. A decade on and he continues to | :21:04. | :21:13.
inspire. Ospreys scored themselves, but Andrew Trimble was insured is | :21:14. | :21:18.
quality. -- once again showed his quality. Ulster kicked off after the | :21:19. | :21:29.
break and they will now play Leinster away in the semifinal. We | :21:30. | :21:36.
know they are a quality side and will not be the same team next time | :21:37. | :21:41.
around. They will be better for the run and it will be one hell of a | :21:42. | :21:45.
battle and we have a lot of respect for them and when they get things | :21:46. | :21:51.
right, they are very, dangerous. Glenister gets also will take place | :21:52. | :21:52.
this Friday. Glenavon won the Irish cup | :21:53. | :21:53.
for the second time in three years when they beat Linfield two-nil | :21:54. | :21:56.
at Windsor Park on Saturday, denying David Healy his first piece | :21:57. | :21:59.
of silverware as a manager. It took until half-time for Glenavon | :22:00. | :22:09.
to break the deadlock through the man whose goals have done so much to | :22:10. | :22:18.
get them to this showpiece final. And the crucial second Glenavon | :22:19. | :22:23.
strike came three minutes after the break to secure the trophy. I'm very | :22:24. | :22:34.
proud of him. All the backroom staff helped me | :22:35. | :22:41.
through the last four years I've been here and all the supporters, | :22:42. | :22:47.
they are back in numbers again. It is lovely photos, good for players. | :22:48. | :22:55.
Glenavon upset the odds. World Cup Kings once more! | :22:56. | :22:58.
It was a good weekend for Northern Irish rowers | :22:59. | :23:00.
at the European Championships in Germany. | :23:01. | :23:01.
Joel Cassells won a gold medal in the lightweight pair, | :23:02. | :23:04.
while in the lightweight four, Peter Chambers was a member of the | :23:05. | :23:06.
It's the highlight of the road-racing calendar this week | :23:07. | :23:13.
BBC Newsline will be following all the build-up and race action. | :23:14. | :23:17.
The paddock is a hive of activity as teams and riders from around the | :23:18. | :23:28.
world get ready for this year's event. The manner to beat will be | :23:29. | :23:33.
Alistair Seeley, he has won at least once in his last eight visits to the | :23:34. | :23:36.
north coast and needs one more victory to become the most | :23:37. | :23:40.
successful rider ever of the North West 200. He was talking about | :23:41. | :23:47.
getting T-shirts made, and it would be nice if we can get it. Have six | :23:48. | :23:54.
claps of the whip, six classes in motor racing. So there is every | :23:55. | :23:57.
opportunity to do it, but a lot of good, fast talented riders who of a | :23:58. | :24:02.
lot of confidence and experience should be able to put themselves in | :24:03. | :24:05.
the right place at the right time and do a good job. All you harder | :24:06. | :24:09.
begins tomorrow in the opening practice session. Roads close at 915 | :24:10. | :24:13.
and as live coverage on the BBC sport website from ten o'clock. The | :24:14. | :24:24.
store to the Championship and the North West 200, but perhaps the | :24:25. | :24:28.
weather might not be a talking point for once. | :24:29. | :24:30.
It wouldn't have been a problem today, Thomas, that's for sure. | :24:31. | :24:36.
We were basking in lovely sunshine, as you could see in a photo taken | :24:37. | :24:50.
from the International Space Station. | :24:51. | :24:51.
The British astronaut Tim Peake posted this | :24:52. | :24:52.
Unfortunately, the picture doesn't include all of the Western counties, | :24:53. | :24:59.
but you can see there was hardly a cloud in the sky over us. | :25:00. | :25:05.
And on such a day, Angie Phillips is not the studio, | :25:06. | :25:08.
Yes, it's a glorious evening here. The ice cream van is still parked up | :25:09. | :25:32.
and there are a few barbecues on the go and a few people are still | :25:33. | :25:36.
catching a few rays on what was the warmest day of the year so far. | :25:37. | :25:40.
Temperatures in the mid-20s imports of the West. But it will probably be | :25:41. | :25:44.
the warmest day of this week as well, gradually, the temperatures | :25:45. | :25:47.
will be coming down near average by the time we get to the end of the | :25:48. | :25:51.
week. There will be a showery spell amid a week, but other than that, | :25:52. | :25:54.
fair amount of dry weather in the forecast and some sunshine as well. | :25:55. | :25:59.
Look at the satellite picture, that shows an abundance of sunshine | :26:00. | :26:03.
across the East and the North and we still have that this evening. It is | :26:04. | :26:08.
a fine end to the day. Lots of sunshine and lovely Somerset 's. | :26:09. | :26:12.
Overnight, dry with clear spells. Temperatures eight or 9 degrees in | :26:13. | :26:15.
the countryside, but mostly in double figures. Tomorrow, another | :26:16. | :26:22.
fine day coming up for most of us. A bit more high cloud, the sunshine | :26:23. | :26:26.
and maybe hazy at times, the most part dry though. The exception may | :26:27. | :26:30.
be in the morning towards the southern counties. The risk of one | :26:31. | :26:34.
or two showers brushing past. Along the east coast, a gentle, easily | :26:35. | :26:40.
breeze. Temperatures 16-17d. Still above average. Highest temperatures | :26:41. | :26:45.
inland and towards the West. Perhaps not as high as today, but 21-23d | :26:46. | :27:04.
still a very good indeed. A great day for the first practice session | :27:05. | :27:09.
at the North West 200. If you're going to be out in the sun for any | :27:10. | :27:12.
length of time, don't forget the summer block, the UV levels are | :27:13. | :27:14.
pretty high. Perhaps not quite so high on Wednesday, the weather front | :27:15. | :27:16.
moves across the South and edges further north. On Wednesday, we have | :27:17. | :27:19.
to expect a bit more of an easterly breeze, more cloud, showery | :27:20. | :27:21.
outbreaks and the temperatures generally around 18. The rain clears | :27:22. | :27:24.
away to the south and becomes drier on Thursday and Friday, just not | :27:25. | :27:25.
quite so warmer. -- warmer. You can also keep in contact with us | :27:26. | :27:29.
