Good evening, this is BBC Newsline and these are the headlines this | :00:16. | :00:17.
Friday evening: Swapping seats at Stormont, the new row over | :00:18. | :00:20.
If they have some sort of embarrassment all reluctance to sit | :00:21. | :00:34.
together in the chamber, then I do not think we are in the progressive | :00:35. | :00:40.
time. I sit where I sit and Sinn Fein I'm sure we'll continue to sit | :00:41. | :00:43.
where they sit. There will be no change. | :00:44. | :00:45.
condition in hospital after crashing | :00:46. | :00:47.
Brave and bold, the pictures that aim to open up | :00:48. | :00:51.
I was given about 6-12 months to live. Two years later, I'm living | :00:52. | :01:02.
life to the full. I completed treatment last August. | :01:03. | :01:03.
And it'll be colder this weekend but will it stay dry. | :01:04. | :01:09.
The Ulster Unionist leader Mike Nesbitt has called for seating | :01:10. | :01:19.
arrangements in the Assembly chamber to change to reflect | :01:20. | :01:21.
his party's decision to go into opposition. | :01:22. | :01:23.
But the DUP leader and First Minister Arlene Foster says it | :01:24. | :01:26.
won't happen, reminding him she won the election. | :01:27. | :01:29.
Our political correspondent Gareth Gordon begins his report | :01:30. | :01:31.
with Mr Nesbitt's challenge yesterday to other parties. | :01:32. | :01:43.
Let battle commence! Battle number one. Seating arrangements. At | :01:44. | :01:53.
Stormont, Sinn Fein and the DUP face each other across the chamber, even | :01:54. | :01:56.
though they are in Government together. But in Westminster, the | :01:57. | :02:00.
Government sits on one side of the chamber and the opposition on the | :02:01. | :02:03.
other. And that is the model that Mike Nesbitt once in future. | :02:04. | :02:08.
Ore-macro. If they don't want to sit side-by-side, while they sit in | :02:09. | :02:12.
side-by-side as partners in Government? If they don't agree to | :02:13. | :02:15.
change the seating arrangements if they have some sort of embarrassment | :02:16. | :02:18.
all reluctance to sit together in the chamber, but I do not think we | :02:19. | :02:22.
are in for a progressive five years. What does the DUP thing? We asked | :02:23. | :02:27.
the First Minister as she spent the afternoon at the Balmoral Show. This | :02:28. | :02:32.
is not Westminster, this is a devolved administration in Northern | :02:33. | :02:35.
Ireland, I will sit where I sit and Sinn Fein will continue to sit where | :02:36. | :02:39.
they sit. There will be no changing just for the benefit. I1 of the | :02:40. | :02:44.
election and that Unionism is with me on these matters and that | :02:45. | :02:46.
Unionism is with me in terms of wanting that a good, strong, stable | :02:47. | :02:51.
Government for Northern Ireland. He did not tell people he was going | :02:52. | :02:55.
into opposition when he was going on Northern Ireland. In fact coming at | :02:56. | :02:58.
the post are thinking wanted to be First Minister, so he has misled the | :02:59. | :03:01.
population of the Northern Ireland, but that is a matter for him. The | :03:02. | :03:06.
man who drew up the plan for an official opposition was clearing his | :03:07. | :03:18.
Assembly seat last week the believes if the FT LB joins the Ulster | :03:19. | :03:20.
Unionists in opposition, they must work closely together. I do think | :03:21. | :03:23.
there is strength in numbers. And on certain issues, you, together or you | :03:24. | :03:28.
make sure you don't necessarily at the other party in a difficult | :03:29. | :03:33.
position over motion as you table or the way you do your business. I | :03:34. | :03:39.
think that is easy enough to do and define ways over the course of a | :03:40. | :03:43.
five year term and that they may eventually look more like an | :03:44. | :03:48.
alternative executive. -- Executive. Talks on the programme for | :03:49. | :03:51.
Government resume here on Monday including the SDLP and the Alliance | :03:52. | :03:53.
Party. For now at least. The 28-year-old man | :03:54. | :03:59.
who died in a car crash in County Down this morning | :04:00. | :04:01.
was Daryll Shaw from Castlewellan. near the village at a quarter | :04:02. | :04:03.
to two this morning. Mr Shaw's car was the only vehicle | :04:04. | :04:07.
involved in the crash. The motorbike racer Ryan Farquhar | :04:08. | :04:10.
remains seriously ill after crashing The Dungannon rider was airlifted | :04:11. | :04:19.
to hospital in Belfast last night. Ryan Farquhar is one of Northern | :04:20. | :04:40.
Ireland's biggest road racing stars who has won more races than any | :04:41. | :04:44.
other rider in the history of this sport. He had previously retired | :04:45. | :04:49.
from a motorcycle racing, but last year, made a comeback. Last night, | :04:50. | :04:55.
you suffered and pelvic injuries after a high-speed crash. He remains | :04:56. | :04:59.
in a serious condition in hospital. I should warn you that the following | :05:00. | :05:03.
report starts with footage the incident. The incident happened just | :05:04. | :05:10.
after the bridge on the coast Road as Ryan Farquhar and Dan Cooper | :05:11. | :05:13.
battled for the lead in the super twin class. The race was red flagged | :05:14. | :05:20.
and paramedics attended the scene. Reiner for was airlifted to the | :05:21. | :05:23.
Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast and underwent surgery. Dan Cooper | :05:24. | :05:29.
was taken to another hospital and is charged overnight. This money, | :05:30. | :05:34.
coming was back in the paddock, meeting a group of children. He | :05:35. | :05:42.
acknowledged that he was very lucky. A dislocated shoulder and last night | :05:43. | :05:46.
they were not too bad. I have had a fuel drugs to ease the pain, and | :05:47. | :05:50.
this morning, they have worn off and now it just feels stiff. I'm just | :05:51. | :05:57.
thinking it could be a lot worse. It is not nice, I hope Ryan is OK and I | :05:58. | :06:02.
hope he will pull through. He is a fighter. James Hillier was just | :06:03. | :06:06.
behind Ryan Farquhar and Cooper in the race and saw it unfold. You | :06:07. | :06:11.
could see Ryan was pushing and when you honour the limits, it is easy to | :06:12. | :06:17.
make a mistake. It caught him out, the bumps or the curb and he went | :06:18. | :06:22.
down, so I was fortunate enough to make it through and as long as he is | :06:23. | :06:26.
all right, that is the main thing and we are all here to have another | :06:27. | :06:30.
go another day. As these two riders replayed on events of the night | :06:31. | :06:33.
before, the thoughts of everyone here with Ryan Farquhar and his | :06:34. | :06:35.
family. Race organisers today issued a | :06:36. | :06:42.
statement saying they are optimistic that Reiner will make a full | :06:43. | :06:46.
recovery and his team also confirmed that the other three riders will be | :06:47. | :06:50.
racing tomorrow because the news from the hospital is more positive. | :06:51. | :06:54.
I will be back with more from the North West 200 later in the | :06:55. | :06:55.
programme. You're watching BBC Newsline | :06:56. | :06:56.
and still to come: tackling Over the next few weeks, | :06:57. | :06:58.
the famous landmark of Malin Head in County Donegal will be home | :06:59. | :07:16.
to some famous movie characters. The latest instalment | :07:17. | :07:18.
of the Star Wars movie series is due AS you can imagine, | :07:19. | :07:21.
that has prompted huge Our North-West reporter | :07:22. | :07:24.
Keiron Tourish is there. Well, indeed I can tell you that | :07:25. | :07:40.
there is a great deal of excitement and it has reached fever pitch here | :07:41. | :07:44.
in a Malin Head. Normally, people would come near to trying get a | :07:45. | :07:49.
glimpse of the basking sharks or dolphins, but this weekend, they are | :07:50. | :07:51.
on the Trail of Hollywood movie stars. Mark Hamill who plays will -- | :07:52. | :07:59.
Luke skywalker at Belfast Airport this morning. He and other bikes | :08:00. | :08:03.
were arriving to form a scene for the next blockbuster in Hama Micro | :08:04. | :08:07.
encountered on the goal. In the last few days, a massive construction has | :08:08. | :08:11.
been taking shape on the edge of the Atlantic. But is it the famous | :08:12. | :08:17.
millennium Falcon spaceship? Yes, it is. People may be a little | :08:18. | :08:19.
disappointed if they are coming up and expecting to see the full sized | :08:20. | :08:24.
Falcon bolt out there. It is a full-size, but only the underbelly. | :08:25. | :08:28.
The top part is not on it, the scaffold is holding it up, so either | :08:29. | :08:31.
they are shooting from underneath all be going to put the rest in late | :08:32. | :08:37.
on. Roads were closed first thing this morning and local people were | :08:38. | :08:40.
given special passes to allow them to move around freely. There is no | :08:41. | :08:46.
doubting the Force is in Malin Head. It is unreal. It is being like a | :08:47. | :08:51.
dream. Last year they were following at Kerry and I was going to take a | :08:52. | :08:56.
trip down, but it was a seven-hour drive, so to hear they were coming | :08:57. | :09:01.
up here, it is unreal. I had to go! It is fabulous. A dream come true | :09:02. | :09:05.
for it is to be folded up here in Malin Head, our little corner of the | :09:06. | :09:10.
country. We do not get much appeal. Everyone it seems is benefiting. But | :09:11. | :09:14.
there is a lot of secrecy surrounding the plot. Who is | :09:15. | :09:17.
actually here? We were contacted recently by the people who have a | :09:18. | :09:23.
connection with Star Wars and they asked could I rent the house. They | :09:24. | :09:27.
were specifically looking for a house with two bathrooms and I said | :09:28. | :09:31.
well, who is renting it? And they said sorry, we cannot tell you that. | :09:32. | :09:35.
Everything is shrouded in secrecy. So we Hollywood star could be in | :09:36. | :09:40.
your kitchen? Who knows! And maybe they will leave me something to let | :09:41. | :09:44.
me know who was there. Hollywood a list Mark Hamill has been to drop in | :09:45. | :09:49.
on the locals. He would certainly feel right at home. There are plenty | :09:50. | :09:53.
of star spotters, but we've not seen any stars as of yet. The cameras are | :09:54. | :09:59.
rolling today and all over this weekend, the roads are closed, so we | :10:00. | :10:06.
are not allowed to get a shot of them, but there's plenty of people | :10:07. | :10:10.
trying. So this weekend will tell the tale. Some flight restrictions | :10:11. | :10:13.
are now believed to be in place and the only thing in the air today is a | :10:14. | :10:18.
transatlantic jets. No sign of any spaceships. | :10:19. | :10:21.
Of course, we know that when part of Star Wars was filmed off County | :10:22. | :10:28.
Kerry, it's provided a huge boost for tourism in that part of the | :10:29. | :10:32.
country. The hope now in Donegal is that it will do the same for here. | :10:33. | :10:34.
We shall wait and see. And later in the programme, | :10:35. | :10:36.
we'll be telling you about a link between our studio and the last | :10:37. | :10:39.
Star Wars movie. Alcohol licensing laws | :10:40. | :10:45.
are again under the spotlight after heavy criticism from one | :10:46. | :10:47.
of Northern Ireland's Michael Deane says the current | :10:48. | :10:51.
legislation here is too restrictive and has left Northern Ireland out | :10:52. | :10:55.
of step with the rest of the UK. Only some licensed premises | :10:56. | :10:58.
with special permission can serve alcohol until 1am, | :10:59. | :11:00.
but it seems that change Food and drink. It is a booming | :11:01. | :11:15.
business in Northern Ireland, but our local alcohol laws hurting | :11:16. | :11:19.
further growth? Restaurants such as this can serve alcohol until 11pm. | :11:20. | :11:25.
It is the same with pubs. That is on a standard week, but it's times like | :11:26. | :11:29.
Christmas and Easter, these hours become much more restrictive. When | :11:30. | :11:36.
people are here on Good Friday, Saturday or Sunday, there should be | :11:37. | :11:41.
a reasonable amount of time that people can enjoy food, drink, | :11:42. | :11:44.
celebrating with their family or friends. I suggested we should be | :11:45. | :11:48.
allowed to open a midday and serve alcohol until at least 1am. We | :11:49. | :11:54.
recognise it is quite the restrictive licensing thing, but I | :11:55. | :12:00.
would of legislation would be brought forward in the first few | :12:01. | :12:03.
months of this new mandate. It wasn't possible before, because of | :12:04. | :12:06.
the stalling of welfare reform, but we would like to make it happen as | :12:07. | :12:09.
soon as we can, particularly given that this is the Year of Food and | :12:10. | :12:14.
Drink. We think it will need to be extended in terms of attracting | :12:15. | :12:18.
tourism but there would need to be a discussion around how we treat bar | :12:19. | :12:23.
staff, hospitality staff on the back of that. Extended hours means that | :12:24. | :12:26.
later finishing time and a lot of young people work in these jobs and | :12:27. | :12:29.
we have to make sure they are safe as they go home. What about those or | :12:30. | :12:33.
not from Northern Ireland and are used to very different alcohol laws? | :12:34. | :12:39.
I think they need to get in line with everybody else. I'm not sure if | :12:40. | :12:44.
it's a bad thing. It is only 1am. Tourism here is mostly thriving on | :12:45. | :12:49.
that the Irish like to drink. I think it is fairly weird that | :12:50. | :12:53.
religion police search a role in the consumption of alcohol. No good. No | :12:54. | :13:00.
good to summer, maybe. But there are signs that last orders here could | :13:01. | :13:01.
soon be called a bit later. Talking about cancer can | :13:02. | :13:05.
be difficult enough, never mind agreeing to be | :13:06. | :13:08.
photographed, scars and all. Well, that's exactly what 41 people | :13:09. | :13:16.
of all ages have done to help tackle the stigma of living | :13:17. | :13:20.
with the disease. Our Health Correspondent | :13:21. | :13:23.
Marie-Louise Connolly has been to the Titanic centre | :13:24. | :13:24.
in Belfast to take a look. Shocking. Bold. However you say it, | :13:25. | :13:40.
these pictures are an honest portrayal of how cancer can ravage a | :13:41. | :13:46.
body. I like to call it the beast. Basically, 45-6 months I was getting | :13:47. | :13:51.
severe headaches, having to to the doctors and get taken in for | :13:52. | :13:54.
emergency brain surgery. After that, I was Tiger nosed with a rare type | :13:55. | :14:00.
of brain disease and I was given about 6-12 months to live. Over two | :14:01. | :14:05.
years later, living life to the full, fit as a fiddle and finished | :14:06. | :14:08.
treatment last August. Travelling as much as I can, squeezing as much out | :14:09. | :14:13.
as I can. But some of the pictures are distressing. The test and is | :14:14. | :14:19.
however all uplifting. I enjoy going to work, my family, all the little | :14:20. | :14:21.
things in life that you take normally for granted, I appreciate | :14:22. | :14:25.
so much more now. I wouldn't have done so before this journey. What do | :14:26. | :14:30.
you hope to achieve out of this? We are hoping people will talk openly | :14:31. | :14:34.
about cancer, to be honest about their treatment, how it feels when | :14:35. | :14:38.
you are diagnosed, how to deal with the emotions. We are hoping people | :14:39. | :14:41.
will support each other and awful lot more. I had cancer years ago and | :14:42. | :14:47.
I want people to see also it is not necessarily a death sentence. I want | :14:48. | :14:51.
to let people see also that people have marks of cancer beneath their | :14:52. | :14:55.
clothes and to realise there's a lot going on. You don't know what people | :14:56. | :14:58.
are suffering when you see them fully dressed. But I am still here | :14:59. | :15:03.
and that is 30 years later. So by taking part in something like this, | :15:04. | :15:06.
is it a form of therapy? Oh, definitely. We all get together and | :15:07. | :15:12.
have such fun. We enjoy each other's company and make friends that will | :15:13. | :15:15.
be in your life for ever. We are there to support each the good times | :15:16. | :15:20.
and the bad. The exhibition will remain at the Titanic Centre in | :15:21. | :15:23.
Belfast this weekend and will then tour across Northern Ireland. | :15:24. | :15:29.
The organisers of the Balmoral Show have rejected suggestions | :15:30. | :15:32.
that the roads infrastructure into and out of the | :15:33. | :15:33.
Some motorists experienced long delays leaving the show last night. | :15:34. | :15:37.
However, the Chief Executive of the Royal Ulster Agricultural | :15:38. | :15:39.
Society says the vast majority of people who come to the show | :15:40. | :15:42.
understand that delays are sometimes inevitable, | :15:43. | :15:43.
Summertime is moving slowly, sometimes not moving at all. Leaving | :15:44. | :16:00.
some people very frustrated. Madness! Madness. Outside the | :16:01. | :16:06.
grounds, big car parks full to capacity. People coming here are | :16:07. | :16:12.
enjoying the show, but for some, the end of their day out can leave a | :16:13. | :16:16.
sour taste. Last night, there were delays getting out of the car park | :16:17. | :16:20.
and long tailbacks on the roads. Some people brought their noise to | :16:21. | :16:25.
social media. One person said it was mad. People coming at you from all | :16:26. | :16:29.
directions. This is part of the difficulty. The sheer volume of | :16:30. | :16:33.
traffic. Hundreds and thousands of cars all in the one place. Later in | :16:34. | :16:38.
the day, when they all tried to move, well, that causes a problem. | :16:39. | :16:44.
The show organisers Ike said there can be delays, but they say | :16:45. | :16:46.
occasional difficulties need to be kept in the Bective. They also say | :16:47. | :16:50.
there are more pressing priorities than new roads into the site. The | :16:51. | :16:55.
Balmoral Show, it would be a help if we had it, but when you think of | :16:56. | :16:58.
what the Government has to face a look at the difficulties in the | :16:59. | :17:02.
health service, there may be a few things higher up on the agenda than | :17:03. | :17:06.
that. So I think if the customers had to wait an extra 20-40 minutes, | :17:07. | :17:13.
well. A motorway link was part of the proposed plan which included a | :17:14. | :17:19.
cent of the site. Although that pay centre will not be developed, there | :17:20. | :17:23.
was a commitment today to try and improve the road network. The centre | :17:24. | :17:27.
is not happening now, but I would like to see the rest of the site | :17:28. | :17:30.
developed and we are looking at the roads and we will look at that road | :17:31. | :17:34.
issue over the next period of time. I'm not just here on the Maze site | :17:35. | :17:38.
for this, I've been here for the events and I think the thing to do | :17:39. | :17:41.
is build this place up in terms of economic development. It is a very | :17:42. | :17:45.
important and strategic site for Northern Ireland. At the end of the | :17:46. | :17:49.
three-day event, delays getting into and out of the main site may be an | :17:50. | :17:52.
issue for some people. Others may simply reflect on their enjoyment to | :17:53. | :17:55.
the relocated Balmoral Show. Now for a quick look behind | :17:56. | :17:59.
the scenes here at BBC Newsline. During last week's election, | :18:00. | :18:02.
we created a virtual And what's the connection | :18:03. | :18:04.
to Star Wars? BBC Newsline's Mark | :18:05. | :18:10.
Simpson explains all. It is called a virtual chamber for a | :18:11. | :18:22.
reason. It is not really here. This is the reality, a big green studio, | :18:23. | :18:27.
which has been built in to the main BBC Newsline studio. It allows us to | :18:28. | :18:32.
mix between the real world over here and a virtual world over there. | :18:33. | :18:37.
Where we can insert computer-generated images, just like | :18:38. | :18:42.
they do in many films. And speaking of movies, this curve at the back of | :18:43. | :18:47.
the studio was made by a firm which also made the nose cones for the | :18:48. | :18:52.
fighters in the last Star Wars film. The battle ground we built here | :18:53. | :18:57.
recently was of course Stormont and with this click, I can fill up the | :18:58. | :19:02.
chamber with even more politicians. And here is my favourite bits. I can | :19:03. | :19:07.
empty the chamber as well! Just like that. But how do I stop walking into | :19:08. | :19:13.
the Stormont benchers? Well, if we turn of these images, you concede I | :19:14. | :19:17.
have a bit of guidance on the floor here. That is how we do it. But | :19:18. | :19:22.
there is one thing I always have to remember, never, ever wear green. If | :19:23. | :19:27.
we bring Stormont back, you can see what happens if I wear a green tie. | :19:28. | :19:32.
The camera replaces the green with the graphic and it all gets a bit | :19:33. | :19:38.
messy. So in many ways, this virtual Stormont is just like the real | :19:39. | :19:41.
Stormont, you have to be careful what you say, where you walk and you | :19:42. | :19:45.
even have to be careful about what you wear. So now you know! | :19:46. | :19:48.
Now sport and back to Stephen at the North West 200. | :19:49. | :19:56.
Earlier in the programme, we heard how Dungannon rider Ryan Farquhar | :19:57. | :20:02.
remains a serious condition after that high-speed crash last night. | :20:03. | :20:06.
Also last night, there was history made at the North West 200 as | :20:07. | :20:10.
Alistair Seeley became the race's most successful ever rider. He joins | :20:11. | :20:15.
me now. The highs and lows of this spectacular a dangerous sport | :20:16. | :20:18.
brought into sharp focus last night. I'm sure your thoughts are with Ryan | :20:19. | :20:25.
Farquhar. Yes, nobody wants to see a crash and I was there when it | :20:26. | :20:28.
happened. I heard of the gasps and I asked a friend who had seen it and | :20:29. | :20:33.
he wasn't very happy about it. My thoughts are with Ryan and news from | :20:34. | :20:37.
his team today is that things are looking up for him. So thoughts and | :20:38. | :20:41.
prayers are with him and we all know the dangers of this sport and we are | :20:42. | :20:47.
except it when we participate. How would you feel about beating the | :20:48. | :20:52.
great Robert Dunlop and beating that record? You now have 16 wins. It is | :20:53. | :20:58.
a very overwhelming feeling when I came into the podium enclosure. It | :20:59. | :21:02.
is a dream come true. I've worked hard for it and will be mentioned in | :21:03. | :21:06.
the same breath as a Dunlop, well that is unreal. As I will buy it, I | :21:07. | :21:12.
was here and it just hasn't sunk in yet, because I'm fearless Dover a | :21:13. | :21:15.
focused on what I have aired tomorrow with five races. It will be | :21:16. | :21:19.
a very busy schedule, so it is an early night for me tonight and it's | :21:20. | :21:24.
a nice feeling, and plenty of hydration and work to do tomorrow. | :21:25. | :21:30.
What is possible for you tomorrow? Could you beat the five win in a | :21:31. | :21:35.
single day record? Is all about the record coming here now and I have | :21:36. | :21:38.
the chance of five in a day and things have changed. So it is always | :21:39. | :21:43.
getting about something, but even the previous years when I was | :21:44. | :21:46.
getting hat tricks around here, it is a big ask and it is definitely a | :21:47. | :21:50.
dream date to the getting through, so to get one already, at the end of | :21:51. | :21:56.
the week, and now I have Saturday ahead of me, I feel I will go out | :21:57. | :22:00.
with my team is and do the best job I can and if I can get maybe one | :22:01. | :22:04.
more, that will be good, but the talents of riders around here comes | :22:05. | :22:08.
you saw last night, just a dogfight to the end. But in my head on the | :22:09. | :22:13.
last lap and I managed to through it. Thank you for joining us | :22:14. | :22:16.
tonight. This weekend sees Fermanagh host | :22:17. | :22:19.
Antrim in the opening game of the Ulster Senior | :22:20. | :22:21.
Football Championship. The teams meet for the fourth | :22:22. | :22:23.
time in three years. Earlier this week, the Antrim County | :22:24. | :22:34.
board threw open the gates to training at the home of this club in | :22:35. | :22:38.
West Belfast. They invited the community and media to freely | :22:39. | :22:43.
interact with its footballers. From this elevated site in Windsor Park, | :22:44. | :22:46.
the recently redeveloped home of Northern Ireland football glistened | :22:47. | :22:52.
in the sun. Just out of view and out of bounds, Casement Park. Decrepit | :22:53. | :22:56.
and in a state of paralysis. These players and their management are | :22:57. | :23:00.
homeless, but upbeat. I miss Casement Park. I went about a young | :23:01. | :23:06.
boy and a senior player. It is about time we got as you say it to reopen | :23:07. | :23:13.
and got things moving. We will be travelling for the next few years | :23:14. | :23:17.
until we get something else. And hopefully we can push on two | :23:18. | :23:20.
divisions and we need a good pitch and a good stadium for these bigger | :23:21. | :23:25.
games. In stark contrast, Fermanagh have it sorted on and off the field. | :23:26. | :23:29.
We are one of the teams in Allston who I think should have and have the | :23:30. | :23:34.
rights to have legitimate aspirations towards winning an | :23:35. | :23:37.
Ulster title. But in the short term, we want to play our best against | :23:38. | :23:41.
Antrim and get positive results there. So Fermanagh out of the shed, | :23:42. | :23:47.
but Antrim still in the shadows. It is up to us to inspire the younger | :23:48. | :23:53.
generation, it is great to see is that big turnouts today as well. | :23:54. | :23:57.
That is what we look for. The fans believe it is now down to the | :23:58. | :23:58.
players. Finally tonight, golf, | :23:59. | :24:07.
and Rory McIlroy, after an indifferent start yesterday, | :24:08. | :24:09.
has had a sensational second round at the Players' Championship | :24:10. | :24:11.
at Sawgrass in Florida. The world number three started | :24:12. | :24:13.
the day on level par, he picked up seven shots | :24:14. | :24:16.
in the opening seven holes and has just ended his round at 8 under, | :24:17. | :24:25.
now just 2 shots off the lead and back into serious contention | :24:26. | :24:28.
going into the weekend. That is it live from the north | :24:29. | :24:38.
coast, all of it is live tomorrow on the BBC sport's website. Highlights | :24:39. | :24:46.
on our show tonight at 10:30pm. If you want to come tomorrow, get here | :24:47. | :24:48.
early, roads close at 930. Before we go to Barra Best | :24:49. | :24:50.
for weather forecast, a reminder that in the world | :24:51. | :24:52.
of politics, making predictions can Before the Assembly election, | :24:53. | :24:55.
the political commentator Alex Kane said that he would sing a song | :24:56. | :24:58.
while wearing a dress on the steps of the Assembly if the Green Party's | :24:59. | :25:01.
candidate Claire Bailey got Take a look at how the BBC The View | :25:02. | :25:04.
programme ended last night. # I am what I am, I don't need | :25:05. | :25:15.
praise, I don't need pity! # I write my own stuff, | :25:16. | :25:19.
some think it's guff, # And so WHAT, if I made a call | :25:20. | :25:21.
in bad projection and then # Claire Bailey only went | :25:22. | :25:26.
and won the darn election! # I don't give a damn, for I can | :25:27. | :25:28.
say, Greens, I am what I am!# So Barra, don't make any | :25:29. | :25:47.
predictions with the weather It will be perfect conditions if | :25:48. | :25:59.
Alex fancies doing that this weekend. Cool and not too warm. But | :26:00. | :26:03.
as we make our way through the week, it will be cooler than what we | :26:04. | :26:07.
expected over the past few days, temperatures will drop and tonight, | :26:08. | :26:14.
we could get a touch of grass frost in one or two places, so you may | :26:15. | :26:18.
wants to protect your early spring blossoms. But as we get into | :26:19. | :26:22.
tomorrow, we have plenty of dry, sunny weather in the forecast | :26:23. | :26:26.
thankfully. Not a lot of change, except for temperatures. To begin, | :26:27. | :26:31.
plenty of dry and sunny weather. If you're going to the North West 200 | :26:32. | :26:35.
tomorrow, back a bit of a layer, because it will feel cooler when you | :26:36. | :26:41.
factor in the sea breeze. It will be 10-11d, the feeling cooler. Inland, | :26:42. | :26:47.
14-15d, maybe the odd 16 where we have good sheltered areas away from | :26:48. | :26:51.
the wind. If you're travelling tomorrow, it's a similar picture | :26:52. | :26:55.
across the board, plenty of dry and sunny weather. There may be one or | :26:56. | :26:58.
two showers for the east coast of Britain where we have stronger wind, | :26:59. | :27:03.
but overall, temperatures about mid to high teens. To enter the day, | :27:04. | :27:07.
there will be plenty of dry and sunny weather out there. Not a bad | :27:08. | :27:12.
one if you want a barbecue, it will be pretty good with the wind is | :27:13. | :27:16.
staying light. We have a bigger chance tomorrow night scene grass | :27:17. | :27:20.
frosting one or two places, so you may want to protect the flowers. | :27:21. | :27:24.
Temperatures could fall as low as one or 2 degrees. But for Sunday, | :27:25. | :27:28.
very little will change and we do it again. Cool on the north coast, | :27:29. | :27:34.
10-11, inland 14-15. For Monday, plenty of dry and sunny weather, it | :27:35. | :27:38.
is not until choose day we see the grey skies moving in with some rain. | :27:39. | :27:43. |
