Good evening and welcome to BBC Newsline.

:00:08.:00:09.

The Executive has published its priorities for the next

:00:10.:00:12.

five years with a major focus on the economy.

:00:13.:00:15.

The details are laid out in a Programme for Government

:00:16.:00:17.

framework which sets out sets out broad aspirations and indicators

:00:18.:00:20.

but at this stage doesn't include specific targets.

:00:21.:00:24.

A final programme will be brought before the Assembly

:00:25.:00:27.

An election fought, an Executive formed and now a plan for how public

:00:28.:00:36.

There's a heavy emphasis on the economy - almost a third

:00:37.:00:44.

of 42 indicators relate to that area.

:00:45.:00:47.

They include improving skills, boosting competitiveness

:00:48.:00:51.

and increasing the proportion of people in

:00:52.:00:53.

There's also a commitment to improve regional economic balance.

:00:54.:01:00.

Could that mean more investment in places like Derry?

:01:01.:01:04.

From a CBI pointed view, members recognise you have to see growth

:01:05.:01:08.

across the region but there is also what is going

:01:09.:01:11.

concentration on big cities, and in Northern Ireland

:01:12.:01:16.

the most important thing is the growth of Belfast.

:01:17.:01:20.

Health, which consumes about half the Stormont budget,

:01:21.:01:22.

It includes the intention to increase life expectancy,

:01:23.:01:28.

reduce health inequalities and improve the overall

:01:29.:01:31.

But like all the proposed outcomes in this plan,

:01:32.:01:37.

there are as yet no hard, measurable targets.

:01:38.:01:40.

The First Minister says this is a new way of doing business

:01:41.:01:43.

and those targets will only come after a period of consultation.

:01:44.:01:48.

The idea behind it is to put out a high-level framework at this stage

:01:49.:01:54.

and then to get feedback in a targeted way from the community so

:01:55.:01:57.

they can help us to understand how they can be a part of the delivery

:01:58.:02:03.

mechanisms, how they can help us to achieve our aims.

:02:04.:02:08.

But opposition parties are not convinced.

:02:09.:02:12.

What people wanted was a sea change in the character and ambitions of

:02:13.:02:18.

government, what we have today is one that lacks ambition, no

:02:19.:02:22.

commitments to affordable childcare, no amendments to that 2500 social

:02:23.:02:27.

houses we need each year, no commitments to do the work in the

:02:28.:02:31.

north-west in terms of jobs and infrastructure.

:02:32.:02:37.

When it comes back from consultation, we will still

:02:38.:02:40.

want longer, healthier lives, we will still want high-class public

:02:41.:02:43.

The Assembly will get to vote on the final plan Programme

:02:44.:02:52.

for Government before the end of year, alongside a budget.

:02:53.:02:56.

It's only then we'll get a full picture of what the Executive hopes

:02:57.:03:00.

to achieve and how it hopes to pay for it.

:03:01.:03:06.

The First Minister says she wants to address the issue of unregulated

:03:07.:03:09.

transfer tests for children to enter most grammar schools.

:03:10.:03:14.

The practice has been in operation for seven years since the 11-Plus

:03:15.:03:17.

exam was scrapped by the then Education

:03:18.:03:20.

Speaking on the BBC's Inside Politics programme,

:03:21.:03:26.

Arlene Foster said change was possible.

:03:27.:03:27.

People have felt that if there are two tests,

:03:28.:03:30.

for children when they're taking those tests,

:03:31.:03:35.

long period, we will talk to the people involved and see

:03:36.:03:39.

Hundreds of pupils and staff were forced to leave four

:03:40.:03:48.

primary schools today because of bomb threats.

:03:49.:03:50.

The warnings came just days after the evacuation of seven other

:03:51.:03:55.

Almost 700 pupils were moved from one school in Bangor,

:03:56.:04:03.

Their school yard, normally noisy at lunchtime, was reduced to silence

:04:04.:04:10.

They were moved to this nearby church hall

:04:11.:04:17.

In light of these instances in other schools, we thought about what we

:04:18.:04:22.

would do if it happened here so we had a plan already,

:04:23.:04:25.

so it wasn't that much of a problem but was just

:04:26.:04:28.

I have grandchildren at this school and I

:04:29.:04:34.

can see first-hand the distress it causes, especially for the

:04:35.:04:38.

This school, Armstrong Primary School in Armagh,

:04:39.:04:45.

was also threatened, along with Omagh

:04:46.:04:47.

It's understood the call warnings were similar to those made to seven

:04:48.:04:52.

Police say there is nothing to suggest the incidents

:04:53.:04:56.

Football - Northern Ireland have comfortably beaten Belarus 3-0

:04:57.:05:06.

The High Court has ruled that investigations into child sex abuse

:05:07.:05:13.

in kink or home will stay within the Northern Ireland Historical Abuse

:05:14.:05:17.

Inquiry. Gary Foy had wanted the home to be included in the wider

:05:18.:05:22.

Westminster led inquiry. He said it had stronger powers to screen most

:05:23.:05:26.

claims that the abuse in the 1970s was covered up to protect an

:05:27.:05:31.

intelligence gathering operation. Local inquiry in Banbridge is due to

:05:32.:05:33.

begin examining what happened next week.

:05:34.:05:36.

in their final home match at Windsor Park before next month's

:05:37.:05:40.

It was the perfect send-off as the sel-lout crowd acknowledged

:05:41.:05:45.

Michael O'Neill's team for their feat in qualifying

:05:46.:05:46.

It is official. This new stadium has new heroes. If tonight was about a

:05:47.:06:04.

Euro 2016 send-up, what a sendoff! After just five minutes, Northern

:06:05.:06:08.

Ireland, 1-0 up, compliments of Kyle Lafferty. Then just before

:06:09.:06:21.

half-time, it was 2-0., Washington, the beneficiary from some generous

:06:22.:06:34.

goalkeeping. We had to wait until late in the game for the man of the

:06:35.:06:40.

moment to strike. That was Northern Ireland three, Belarus zero. Then a

:06:41.:06:46.

post-match, the fireworks. Fireworks, the like of which is

:06:47.:06:54.

Windsor Park never seen before. The team, almost stunned. They are

:06:55.:06:56.

tonight, history makers. Meanwhile in Dublin,

:06:57.:07:00.

Martin O'Neill's Republic of Ireland drew 1-1 with the Netherlands,

:07:01.:07:02.

after conceding a late equaliser Martin O'Neill will slim down his

:07:03.:07:17.

squad tomorrow but will wait until after Tuesday's final warm up

:07:18.:07:20.

fixture before announcing the 23 players who will travel to France.

:07:21.:07:25.

He won't have learned to much from this game against a side who offered

:07:26.:07:30.

very little is an attacking threat. Shane Long live the home side the

:07:31.:07:36.

lead as he finished from close range after John O'Shea's side was

:07:37.:07:40.

parried. The Republic created further chances but couldn't add to

:07:41.:07:43.

their lead. They were made to pay late on when the substitute found

:07:44.:07:49.

the net with the Netherlands only opportunity of the night. Martin

:07:50.:07:52.

O'Neill still has a number of difficult decisions to make. There

:07:53.:08:00.

will still be one more opportunity for the players to impress against

:08:01.:08:01.

Belarus in Cork. The weather is next.

:08:02.:08:16.

We have a warm weekend coming up. Not completely rent-free but there

:08:17.:08:19.

certainly will be some sunshine at times. It looks like the showers

:08:20.:08:22.

should stay away tonight so generally dry and not too cold

:08:23.:08:26.

although temperatures may be lower than this in parts of the

:08:27.:08:31.

countryside which could lead to fork first thing on Saturday. That will

:08:32.:08:34.

rapidly disappear and they will be sunshine tomorrow. Some showers

:08:35.:08:39.

later in the day. Many places will have a dry morning. Temperatures

:08:40.:08:45.

rise and we will see some showers later in the day. Also some showers

:08:46.:08:52.

in Wales, the Midlands, in fact, a warning has been issued for South

:08:53.:08:56.

Wales and south-west England with the risk of some torrential

:08:57.:08:59.

downpours here. Also some showers across the Republic of Ireland but

:09:00.:09:03.

many parts of Scotland and northern England staying dry. And sunshine to

:09:04.:09:07.

come in Northern Ireland tomorrow with many places up to 18 degrees,

:09:08.:09:11.

possibly 20 degrees in some places but as we get those higher

:09:12.:09:15.

temperatures, there is the risk of a foundry downpour later in the day. A

:09:16.:09:20.

lot of places this them and stay dry with some sunshine. And Oracle to

:09:21.:09:23.

have a lot of dry weather this weekend with some warm sunshine and

:09:24.:09:30.

light winds. On Sunday, a few showers around but a lot of the

:09:31.:09:33.

time, it is dry with sunshine. Showers should not be as heavy and

:09:34.:09:37.

as bees away, it looks like things are really dry and sunny but the

:09:38.:09:39.

bank holiday on Monday. You can also keep updated
