The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service says it will have to operate

a reduced level of cover tonight because of staff shortages.

It says it's 24 staff short of normal levels,

The Ambulance Service says it's bringing in support crews

from voluntary and private ambulance companies to respond

But it's warned of delays, mostly for patients whose condition

Two men are to appear in court after trouble

Police in riot gear moved into the Castlemara estate,

where weapons including a crossbow were seized.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with riotous behaviour

and a 36-year-old with placing a dangerous object on a road.

A smouldering bonfire and the smell of burnt tyres

Fire crews were called to try to deal with the incident last night.

The police also moved in following reports of masked men

armed with weapons including hammers at the Castlemara Estate nearby

Officers dispersed crowds before seizing a number of items

It's understood different loyalist groups in the town

People here are disappointed in the disturbances. It is not what we want

to see in 2016. We were at the festival of a member and for the

Battle of the Somme last week and that is the positive things we want

to see happen in Carrickfergus. The police have assured me they have the

resources to do this but overall this is a disappointing thing.

The police in Strabane are warning people to be on the lookout

after it was reported that a device was left close to the courthouse.

Hopefully we can say farewell to the heavy downpours for at least 24

hours. There are a few showers around this evening but they will be

light and well scattered. Clear spells tonight and it will get

chilly once again. If you are camping tonight, you will have to

have lots of layers. It will feel quite cool first thing tomorrow

morning. Not completely rain free but there will not be downpours.

Slightly higher temperatures so it will feel warmer. Lovely sunshine

tomorrow morning with one or two showers dotted around, mainly in the

north and west. Not as breezy and not as cool. Most of the rain will

be in central and northern areas of Scotland. One two showers throughout

England. Temperatures just about with it should be in London. Some

cloud later in the day and patchy rain threatening the south and

south-west of the Republic of Ireland. Reasonably dry and bright

but not perfect. Better than today and temperatures sneaking up a bit.

system coming off the Atlantic on top of us. We would like for it to

be much further north so the weather systems were carried away and the
