Bonfires across Belfast are to inspected in the wake

of injuries sustained by a nine-year-old schoolboy

The inspections will focus on any chemicals that may pose

Cameron Dixon's condition improved overnight. He is now off a

ventilator. He still needs round-the-clock treatment. At the

weekend he inhaled fumes from chemicals dumped near this bonfire

site near the Shankill Road. A local community worker said the bonfire

was not the cause of the problem. Unfortunately there are people that

come and fly-tip. We had an incident last year where asbestos was left on

site. Our experience has been at the bonfires are becoming more

responsible. They certainly do not want an incident where people are

dumping materials which could be dangerous. And scaring young people

around them. Many other bonfires are in the city and they face the same

potential problem. The city council has decided to take action.

Inspections will be carried out at all bonfires across Belfast, to see

if there is any toxic material. It is a big job and the police might

also get involved, but the council said it is necessary and in the

interests of health and safety. A post mortem examination is due

to be carried out on a baby girl who died in Dundrum

in County Tipperary yesterday. The Gardai have described

what happened as a personal tragedy. Seven-month-old Chloe Fogarty -

was the only child of Paul It appears the father

was taking his baby to a creche, but somehow got distracted

A campaign group has been meeting politicians at Belfast City Hall

to highlight inequalities in the state pension for women.

Tens of thousands of women in Northern Ireland are affected

by the changes which were introduced in recent years.

Our Reporter Kevin Sharkey is at the City Hall.

This campaign has gone on for four years. It affects 77,000 women

across Northern Ireland. What is the problem? The problem is in 1995 the

government wanted to equalise men and women in the pension age. They

introduced a timetable, a state pension timetable, which was very

steep. Then they escalated it in 2011. Which now means some women

have to wait up to six years for their state pension. And they are

losing out badly. And this is about personal stories and personal

experiences. Shelley, what has been the experience for you? Many women

like myself have had help issues all their lives and just as we reach 60

and think life gets a bit easier, the gamut has told us we have to

work another six years. With a loss of possibly up to ?48,000. What

difference is it making for you in your life? I should have got my

pension at 60. I have been caught in the acceleration. 63 years and seven

months and that means a ?30,000 to me. There are anomalies around these

particular acts which needs to be investigated by everybody expecting

their pensions. And as part of the ongoing campaign, another protest is

being held in the North West this afternoon. Kevin Sharkey reporting

from Belfast city centre. A couple have gone to the High Court

to demand legal recognition Their lawyers say pagans and other

religious groups enjoy such privilege in Northern Ireland,

but humanists do not. The case has been taken

by Laura Lacole who is a model and Eunan O'Kane, who's

a professional footballer with Leeds Gaelic football now -

and Derry will host Tyrone this Sunday in the Ulster Championship

quarter-final. They met at the same stage last

year with the result an emphatic win for Tyrone,

but their manager is not expecting We approach it with great caution,

for sure. Certainly we would know last year Derry did not expect to

have as bad a first half as they had. We caught them on the hop and

it was fairly sewed up at half-time. That will not be the case. Do not

in action this evening with an away game in Drogheda

in the Airtricity Premier League. The Candystripes, who are

fourth in the table, But they've drawn

six of those games. And the City boss wants his side to

be more clinical in front of goal. Our North West reporter

Keiron Tourish has more. Manager Kenny Shiels says his young

players are progressing well this season. But they need an extra edge

to secure maximum points when they are there for the taking. The

Candystripes are undefeated in eight matches but have drawn six of them

and secured two wins, leaving them forth. The city boss would like his

side to be more clinical like this in front of goal. As we grow these

young players will get better. And the appreciation from support to see

what they are seeing must be encouraging for the supporters to

see the boys working so hard for the badge, for the city, for the club.

At the end of the day that is what football was about, for your

community. You can see that energy within the performances. Kenny says

the clear challenge is to keep the momentum going and to get back to

winning games. Enjoy the lovely sunshine while it

lasts. Now the weather. It is a glorious day but it will not last

over the weekend. In fact it is all change going through today. Plenty

of dry and sunny weather but if you are travelling today you might

coming our way, and we could have thunder and lightning in County

Fermanagh and County Tyrone. A weather warning has been issued for

that. It could be noisy in parts of the West. Further east, a fine

evening, holding onto plenty of sunshine. Temperature is already up

to 25 degrees. As a result it will be another mild night. Temperatures

likely to stay at 14 or 15 degrees. Going into tomorrow, it is all going

to change for all of us. More unsettled conditions coming our way.

some of us are well back at 30 degrees maybe in the north-west and

dry weather, with sunshine but a lot of cloud. At least the temperatures
