A special service has been held

in Enniskillen to mark the 30th

anniversary of the bombing that

claims the lives of 12 people

and injured dozens more.

The IRA attack was on Remembrance

Sunday as people gathered

at the Cenotaph in the town

to remember the war dead.

Our south-west reporter,

Louise Cullen, is in

Enniskillen for us now.

Today, as on every 8th of

since 1987, families have adhered to

remember those they had lost. 11

people were killed on the day, 12th

died 13 years later, and more than

60 were injured when the bomb

exploded here. Today some of those

survivors gathered here as a

memorial to those killed was

unveiled. It bears all 12 names, but

temporary. Agreement has yet to be

reached about where the memorial

will be placed. The Queen sent a

message to the families, she said

the memorial was a poignant reminder

of a terrible event, that she was

aware of the irreplaceable loss and

profound sadness so many of the

families had suffered and she

memorial service and the memories

remain fresh for them.

You don't

think about it on a daily basis but

you know that pain is there at the

back of your rain. -- back of your

mind. You learn to get through day

by day.

Someone just said to me, the

last year, that grief is the price

of a laugh. I never thought of that

until I heard that. It truly is. --

grief is the price of love.

We will

on how the bomb affected Northern

Ireland widely.

An 18-year-old man has died

following a road crash in Portadown.

The police have appealed

for information about the single

vehicle collision on Dungannon Road

shortly after midnight.

The police in Londonderry

are investigating an attack

by masked gunmen last night.

It happened at a flat

in the Altcar Park area.

The man living there was unharmed.

Our north-west reporter,

Keiron Tourish, went

to the scene this morning.

A PSNI team carried out an extensive

search of the area of Altcar Park

where this incident took based last

night. The police say there were

reports of a masked gang, one of

whom is believed to be armed with a

gun, forcing their way inside at

10pm. Damage was caused inside. A

number of windows were smashed by

the men. A man who lives in the

property, who is understood to be in

his 20s and was in the flat at the

time, was not injured.

I also think

that the people who are carrying out

these acts need to explain to the

community how they think they have

the right to do these types of

attacks, they have never worked in

the past and they will not work now.

This is a tight-knit community, we

will come together and we have told

these people time and time again

that these attacks are not welcome.

I am shocked, absolute shack, it's a

nice quiet area. I grew up not far

from here and we didn't have too

much bother. It's a disgrace that

people in this quiet community have

to put up with this kind of

behaviour.

Detectives investigating

this incident have issued an appeal

for information. They want to hear

from anyone who noticed any

suspicious activity in or around

Altcar Park last night, to come

forward.

Belfast has slipped further down

a league table of where's best

to live and work among UK cities.

Low wages are part of the issue

and the authors also say

the collapse of the Executive

at Stormont hasn't helped.

This is an annual

index of 42 UK cities issued through

the professional services firm

PricewaterhouseCoopers. It is a

survey of the working population,

asking them things about income,

housing affordability, and worklife

balance. Just two years ago, Belfast

was ranked as high as five out of

42, last year, it slipped to 25,

this year its descent has continued

and it is now ranked at number 30.

The report says while it has been

good at things like job creation,

low wages and poor productivity are

some of the factors behind its fall

in the rankings. There is a separate

section looking at 12 cities in the

three devolved regions, and that

makes even worse reading because it

ranks on a Londonderry as 12 out of

12. Any real surprises in this? I

don't think so. It's always good to

see where Belfast and Derry rank

alongside other UK cities but

fundamentally this report reinforces

the fact that Northern Ireland is

coming out of recession at a much

slower rate than other parts of the

UK. We've always known things like

our unemployment rate like the rest

of the UK, our economic inactivity

is higher. That's not really a

surprise that we don't compare well.

A couple of things worth pointing

out, the authors say that Brexit

will have a profound impact on

Northern Ireland and it also says

the absence of an executive has not

helped the situation.

Consultants who'd accepted

they were to blame for flaws

in the Renewable Heat Incentive

scheme have now told the public

inquiry they went too far

in accepting responsibility.

Cambridge Economic Policy

Associates, which helped design RHI

and set the tariff.

The legal counsel said

the Department of Trade

and Investment should have spotted

that the subsidy rate was higher

than the cost of the fuel.

Northern Ireland had a light

work-out at Windsor park this

lunchtime ahead of the home leg

of the World Cup play offs

against Switzerland.

A final training session for

Northern Ireland ahead of what is

going to be an intensive four days.

They have two games against

Switzerland to try and earn a place

in the World Cup finals for the

first time since 1986. And a clean

bill of health for the Northern

originally rated doubtful. On

We had a very frosty start to the

day thanks to clear skies last night

but those clear skies gave us a

cracking view of the Northern

lights, particularly over County

Antrim. This was not too far away,

and thank you for your photographs,

keep them coming in. No sign of that

tonight, too much cloud around. That

gives us some patchy light rain and

drizzle, temperatures struggling to

seven or 8 degrees in the

south-westerly wind. The best of the

dry and brighter weather will

probably be towards the south-east

of corner. The rest of the day sees

the cloud thickening up, bringing

the odd spot of light rain and

drizzle but it will become more

patchy in nature through the

evening, lots of places having some

good try gaps but there will be some

drizzle coming this way through the

early hours of tomorrow morning.

Behind it will be colder,

temperatures into the single

figures. No frost for most of us

into tomorrow morning. Tomorrow is

going to get off to a dry start,

some sunshine to enjoy, a bit of a

brisk westerly wind which could make

it feel fresh. Temperatures

generally reaching ten or 11

degrees. Feeling a little bit cooler

when you factor in the wind. A lot

of the day will be dry but towards

tomorrow evening, the cloud thickens

from the west, and with the cloud

there will be rain. Into the

weekend, scattered showers in the

forecast, turning colder into the

wind coming in from the south-west.
