Politicians here have given a mixed response to the news that the formal

process for the UK to leave the European Union will begin

The DUP say the move will help provide clarity,

while Sinn Fein say the Prime Minister is reacting

to internal pressure from within her party.

Today's announcement was made at the Conservative Party

Our Political Correspondent Stephen Walker is there.

Brexit was always going to overshadow Theresa May's first party

conference. The news was welcomed by former Secretary of State who

campaigned to leave the EU. I think it's very welcome news. It sets us

on the path to leaving the EU and becoming an independent country

again where the people who make our laws are the ones we elect. In

Northern Ireland political reaction was mixed. The DUP said it made

sense. We need to get on with it. Further uncertainty and a period

where people don't know what's going to happen and there is no

negotiation process doesn't help anyone. I think it's good that we've

got a clear timescale to move this forward. Sinn Fein remained

unconvinced and say Brexit ignores local opinion and claim there is

still much uncertainty around. I think they were clearly stalling on

the issue because when she's asked questions about the strategy, does

not have the answers. I'm not quite sure anybody else has the answers.

Theresa May has begun the process of taking the UK out of the European

Union and we now have a timetable, but big questions remain. What will

the final deal look like and what will it look like for Northern

Ireland at the border? The family of a Rangers fan

originally from County Antrim, who died in a coach crash

on the outskirts of Kilmarnock yesterday,

have travelled to Scotland. Larne man Ryan Baird,

who was 39, had been living 18 other people were taken

to hospital and three are still being treated

for non-life threatening injuries. The coach was carrying

supporters to Ibrox Stadium. Mr Baird still had close ties

with Larne Rangers supporters club where friends have been

leaving tributes to him. Very shocked to hear the news of his

passing. He was a very popular fellow, he'd lived in Scotland but

we were still in contact with him. This is very sad and I spoke to his

family this morning. Their thoughts are with the other families in

hospital, etc. The final days play at golf's Ryder

cup is underway in Minnesota. Europe trail the USA by 9 and a half

points to 6 and a half. For the latest let's join

Europe now they will need a Herculean effort if they are to

overcome that three point yes have -- deficit. They need 7.5 out of 12

points on offer. They will take heart from the fact that they were

four points behind going into the final day four years ago. Darren

Clarke knows everything is possible. Rory McIlroy is leading the European

challenge again after an inspired performance yesterday when he won

got a half as his opponent rolled in a part to fire up the crowd. Rory

McIlroy won the third but Patrick Reed has just eagled. Darren Clarke

told me he is confident some of his big names who have been a bit

disappointing so far can deliver foreign today. Teams have overcome

bigger deficits. There is bat and the guys don't need me to lift them

up. They will be keen to go out there and play well. Those other

scenarios where teams have come back in the past. This team has the

talent to do that. A long way to go. Yesterday, some of this very

passionate crowd overstepped the mark. Rory McIlroy suffered verbal

abuse. He confronted one fan. The PGA have released a statement saying

there will be a zero tolerance policy. They will remove fans who

engage in vulgar language. GAA now and Mayo's 65-year wait

for an All-Ireland Senior Football title goes on after holders Dublin

edged a 1-15 to 1-14 win As Dublin celebrated back-to-back

titles for the first time since the county's triumphs

in 1976 and '77, Mayo's players attempted to come to terms

with a fifth All-Ireland final Plenty of sunshine but what can we

expect the next few days? It's been a fantastic day although it started

quite chilly this morning. It's not going to be is called tonight. Frost

is unlikely. Cloud moving in from the West. Some spots of rain in the

breeze is picking up as well. Cloudy and breezy nights to come.

Temperatures could drop to five or 6 degrees over parts of County Down.

High pressure should keep the weather front away from this. A lot

of dry weather to come. Temperatures should be in the mid teens and frost

and fork is unlikely this coming week it will be a nice day. Some

early morning mist over the hills. Otherwise, dry weather. Quite brisk

wind across the Republic of Ireland. There will be a weather front close

by, dropping rain on the West Coast. That should stay away from Northern

Ireland. Fine weather to come. Sunshine at times. The breezes

coming from the south-east. High-pressure over Scandinavia is

the dominant weather feature this week. Most of these weather front

that come close to us don't quite get into many parts of Ireland but

there will be a noticeable breeze. The rain is not far away but is far

enough away. Lots of dry weather on Tuesday. More cloud in the West.

Best of the sunshine in the north and east. It will feel nice when the
