A murder investigation has begun after the death of a 22-year-old

Conan Anderson died almost a fortnight after being injured

He died in hospital yesterday, nearly two weeks after being

admitted with serious head injuries. It is known he sustained injuries as

a result of an incident in the centre of Belfast on a side street

close to City Hall. The critically injured man made it home in the

early hours but his family became concerned about his condition as he

lay in his bedroom. He had his duvet wrapped around him, he was moving

around and snoring away. I thought we would let him sleep it off and we

left but at 7:30pm my mum phoned me and said he was acting strange. I

rushed back over and when I saw his face, he was pale. I rang ambulance

straightaway. He had a mark on his jaw as if punished. Enquiries have

established he was involved in an incident here in the early hours of

the 6th of February, three days later a 27-year-old man was arrested

in north Belfast on suspicion of GBH. He has been released pending

further enquiries. The police are treating the incident as murder.

They are appealing for anyone who saw what happened here in after

laying all who know anything to get in touch with them. -- Arthur Lane.

It has been pretty mild through the weekend and that is how we start the

new week. A mild start turning fresh in midweek. Quite often windy at

times and spells of rain pushing through but dry gaps in between. A

damp and breezy evening, the rain will either way so drive for a good

part of the night but low cloud and hill fog comes in, Misty and murky

and bits and pieces of rain and drizzle. Very mild, temperatures no

lower than today, around nine or 10 degrees. Tomorrow, mild breezy

conditions, a spell of rain on the way but for parts of the South and

east, a dry start before persistent rain works its way in. Rain pushes

in to the Republic of Ireland, southern Scotland and northern

England. In the South, if you bright intervals but much of England and

Wales is misty and murky in the west. In the North, Scotland,

brighter with sunshine, showers pushing in. The Northern Ireland,

the band of rain pushes southwards and eastwards in the afternoon

eventually clearing for drier weather. Quite cloudy and breezy but

it bright intervals. Mild, 11, 12 degrees and possibly higher with

brighter glimpses. Quite changeable through the rest of the week,

high-pressure, weather systems moving around so quite windy at

times and this cold front moves on Tuesday bringing a change in

temperature. Still mild on Tuesday, some rain across the South, more

persistent rain to northern and western areas heading through the

later part of the day. It sinks southwards into the Republic,

England and Wales with strong wind heading into Wednesday. We have

brighter skies, a few showers but temperatures coming down. Pressure

towards the end of the week and wet and windy on Thursday. That is the
