Keep up-to-date online. That's all

:00:00.:00:00.

Hello and welcome to South Today from Oxford. In tonight's programme:

:00:00.:00:09.

Higher prices for parking and leisure centres. Oxford City Council

:00:10.:00:13.

sets its budget find out where it'll be saving but also spending money in

:00:14.:00:16.

the coming year. Also tonight... Protected against a

:00:17.:00:21.

deadly disease. The farmer who vaccinated his flock after losing

:00:22.:00:24.

400 lambs and thirty thousand pounds to the Schmallenberg virus.

:00:25.:00:32.

And later on. Basically, boys, this is how you poach salmon. He's been

:00:33.:00:36.

framed by himself. The poacher netted by his ill`gotten gains.

:00:37.:00:47.

Good evening. Around half a million pounds is to be invested in Oxford's

:00:48.:00:52.

covered market under new budget plans outlined today. It's one of

:00:53.:00:56.

the measures being put forward by the City Council as it tries to make

:00:57.:01:00.

its books balance next year. But people will find they are paying

:01:01.:01:03.

more for parking and leisure centres. In a moment I'll be

:01:04.:01:07.

speaking to our political reporter Helen Catt, but first this report

:01:08.:01:10.

from Stuart Tinworth. Outlining where they'll spend, and

:01:11.:01:13.

save our cash. Oxford City council says its already saved four million

:01:14.:01:16.

pounds since 2010, but needs to go further to balance the books. It

:01:17.:01:22.

hopes to save over six hundred thousand pounds by cutting admin

:01:23.:01:26.

staff. And it's also looking to raise cash, by putting up the price

:01:27.:01:36.

of a parking space. In some cases by nearly 10%. It is crazy, because I

:01:37.:01:43.

think they already are twice as much as they should be. It is mad. You

:01:44.:01:48.

have to get the bus, I guess. If people put up the parking prices,

:01:49.:01:52.

they will not come in. That is the issue. The price of activities at

:01:53.:01:58.

the local council gymnasium will go up also by around 3% with an annual

:01:59.:02:03.

membership increasing by as much as 10%, costing around ?47 more per

:02:04.:02:07.

year. It's better news for Oxford's covered market. Around three hundred

:02:08.:02:10.

thousand pounds will be spent on investment. Welcome news for

:02:11.:02:17.

traders, just before Christmas. That is very pleasing. We are very happy

:02:18.:02:22.

to have investment. It is long overdue, I would say. The Rizzi" ,

:02:23.:02:27.

so to see the money invested back in is always welcome. In this

:02:28.:02:37.

particular case, because we have been working on efficiencies, we're

:02:38.:02:42.

in a better position and have we been able to look at new projects.

:02:43.:02:47.

There are still challenges ahead for the city. The council says they fear

:02:48.:02:51.

the knock`on effect when the full effect of the government cuts

:02:52.:02:56.

becomes clear. Our political reporter, Helen Catt

:02:57.:03:00.

is here. Helen, so it looks as if there are small price rises across

:03:01.:03:03.

the board, and no real front line cuts? Yes, the City Council does

:03:04.:03:07.

seem to be presenting a budget here that isn't as quite as painful as,

:03:08.:03:11.

for example, what the County Council's been warning we should

:03:12.:03:17.

expect for the last few months. Saying that of course, the City

:03:18.:03:21.

doesn't have some of the vital but expensive responsibilities that the

:03:22.:03:24.

county does, like adult social care or potholes. What we're getting here

:03:25.:03:28.

is a series of price rises, to car parking, leisure, also pest control

:03:29.:03:32.

and burial rights, and council tax. In return we're being promised lots

:03:33.:03:34.

of investment, extending food recycling to flats, a rolling fund

:03:35.:03:37.

to compulsory purchase empty houses, more money for cycle lanes. Small

:03:38.:03:50.

price rises won't fund big measures though will they? No, that's true

:03:51.:03:54.

they won't. The bulk of the funding is going to come from the council

:03:55.:03:57.

reviewing its property, investments and its levels of admin support.

:03:58.:04:01.

Essentially, in the long run that means less back`office staffing.

:04:02.:04:04.

Although it's worth bearing in mind that the council does have an

:04:05.:04:07.

agreement to avoid any compulsory redundancies. Thank you.

:04:08.:04:15.

More than half the people of Buckinghamshire would support a

:04:16.:04:18.

council tax rise of four per cent, according to a recent consultation.

:04:19.:04:21.

The poll by the County Council showed people supported An increase

:04:22.:04:25.

to help keep services running. The council has to make savings of ?60

:04:26.:04:28.

million by 2018, but can't raise council tax by more than two per

:04:29.:04:33.

cent without a referendum. It'll now discuss whether to hold one.

:04:34.:04:37.

A 28`year`old man's appeared in court charged with stealing a car,

:04:38.:04:40.

dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm, after a police

:04:41.:04:43.

officer was knocked down and critically injured. PC Gareth

:04:44.:04:47.

Browning is still in hospital with serious head injuries. He was hit by

:04:48.:04:52.

a car in Reading on Saturday. Luke Hayward from Whitley has been

:04:53.:04:55.

remanded in custody by Reading Crown Court.

:04:56.:04:59.

The Mayor of Swindon could be forced out of his role, amid claims he

:05:00.:05:02.

described disabled people as "Mongols". Councillor Nick Martin is

:05:03.:05:06.

said to have made the remark during a training session, about the

:05:07.:05:10.

problems faced by disabled adults in the town. A special meeting of the

:05:11.:05:14.

Council will be held later this month, to debate a motion of no

:05:15.:05:18.

confidence in Mr Martin. One of the Mayor's sponsored charities this

:05:19.:05:21.

year supports children with special needs.

:05:22.:05:25.

An Oxfordshire sheep farmer has spent ?6,000 vaccinating his flock

:05:26.:05:28.

after his ewes were infected with the Schmallenberg virus last year.

:05:29.:05:32.

David Barber from Wantage says the vaccine is working, even though two

:05:33.:05:35.

of his lambs have still contracted the disease. The National Sheep

:05:36.:05:40.

Association says the disease is here to stay. Just to warn you, Sinead

:05:41.:05:44.

Carroll's report contains an image a lamb that died from the virus. `` an

:05:45.:05:52.

image of a lamb. Even healthy lambs sometimes need a

:05:53.:05:55.

bit of help arriving into the world. But a tricky birth like this is

:05:56.:05:59.

nothing compared to last winter's lambing at Warborough Farm near

:06:00.:06:01.

Wantage, when the Schmallenberg virus devastated this flock. It was

:06:02.:06:06.

like something we had never seen before. It was a horrible experience

:06:07.:06:14.

for the staff. The lambs were born unable to move. 400 lambs contracted

:06:15.:06:18.

Schmallenberg here, costing the farm thirty thousand pounds. Newborn

:06:19.:06:21.

cattle and goats can also get the disease which is caused by midges

:06:22.:06:24.

and leads to abortion and birth defects. Schmallenberg was unknown

:06:25.:06:27.

in this country before 2012, but in the last two years there have only

:06:28.:06:31.

been around 150 reported cases in our region. The majority in winter

:06:32.:06:34.

breeding ewes, like those at Warborough farm. At the moment it is

:06:35.:06:42.

considered a low impact disease, but for individual farms that are

:06:43.:06:46.

affected, it is really serious and it can affect business in a big

:06:47.:06:50.

way, so that is why this vaccination is bury important. But the Ewe's

:06:51.:06:57.

here have been given the Schmallenberg vaccine, costing ?3

:06:58.:07:00.

per sheep. Steep when you have a 2,000 strong flock, but the

:07:01.:07:02.

vaccine's impact has been significant. At the moment, we have

:07:03.:07:05.

very few cases, there was one this morning, perhaps the vaccine did not

:07:06.:07:10.

work, or perhaps it was missed. Overall uptake of the vaccine hasn't

:07:11.:07:13.

been large, for farmers lambing later it may not be economical, but

:07:14.:07:17.

for sheep here, however, it's been a life saver.

:07:18.:07:20.

More than ?800,000 is to be spent improving one of the main routes

:07:21.:07:24.

into Oxford. Calls to carry out repairs to London Road in Headington

:07:25.:07:27.

have been increasing over the last few months, as the surface has been

:07:28.:07:31.

deteriorating. The County Council has now confirmed that work will

:07:32.:07:34.

take place sometime after next April. But some campaigners say the

:07:35.:07:39.

road is dangerous and repairs should start sooner. Adina Campbell has

:07:40.:07:45.

been finding out more. This is one of Oxford's busiest

:07:46.:07:50.

roundabouts. Thousands of cars are seen here on the London Road every

:07:51.:07:54.

day and it is also the main route for buses, coaches and lorries. With

:07:55.:07:59.

so much traffic, it is a driver's worst nightmare. Lots of dreaded

:08:00.:08:05.

potholes. 29 potholes have been repaired on this road by the council

:08:06.:08:09.

in the last six months. But it is not just a worry for the drivers.

:08:10.:08:15.

This particular bit, it is not good, because it is for all of the bosses

:08:16.:08:19.

slow down for the bus stop. That makes the surface even worse. It is

:08:20.:08:28.

problematical. The issue is if it is possible to spend a relatively small

:08:29.:08:31.

amount of money temporarily to improve the surface and it means

:08:32.:08:37.

that the cyclist do not have to move sideways into the traffic stream,

:08:38.:08:42.

that is the main danger. ?840,000 will now be spent on a major project

:08:43.:08:47.

which include new bus lanes and better resurfacing. It would be paid

:08:48.:08:50.

for by the government and the County Council, but it could be months

:08:51.:08:57.

before people see the improvements. This is a major tourism destination.

:08:58.:09:01.

What do they think of Oxford when they come and see this? They think

:09:02.:09:05.

it is a third World country and we are at risk of worse happening in

:09:06.:09:11.

the next eight months while we wait for the roads to be improved. We

:09:12.:09:20.

thought it would be good to do some work now and get it all done. There

:09:21.:09:27.

have been serious accidents on the stretch of the road in the last six

:09:28.:09:31.

months and maintenance work is due to start next summer.

:09:32.:09:37.

In football, the chairman of Swindon town has reassured fans that the

:09:38.:09:40.

financial future of the club is safe under his new ownership. Lee Power

:09:41.:09:45.

pictured here, completed the takeover this year. He has invested

:09:46.:09:49.

around three quarters of ?1 million this season and has vowed not to

:09:50.:09:53.

allow the club to get into debt. That's all from me for the moment.

:09:54.:09:57.

I'll be back at 10.25. Now more of today's stories with Sally Taylor.

:09:58.:10:01.

gates use facial recognition software to compare the passengers

:10:02.:10:04.

face with the digital image stored on a UK or European passport. Still

:10:05.:10:08.

to come in this evening's South Today, Alexis will have the weather

:10:09.:10:11.

and Pompey will be hoping that there isn't more of this tonight for their

:10:12.:10:13.

restaged match against Wycombe. A Dorset man's been convicted of

:10:14.:10:21.

poaching after a video showing him illegally catching fish was posted

:10:22.:10:25.

on the internet. It's the first time in the UK that the Environment

:10:26.:10:29.

Agency has used evidence from social media to secure a conviction. The

:10:30.:10:33.

video showing Benjamin Cook poaching on a river near Poole was spotted by

:10:34.:10:38.

a sea fisheries officer. Steve Humphrey reports. It is a video that

:10:39.:10:50.

has landed Benjamin Cook in deep water. He can be heard talking about

:10:51.:10:58.

is poaching skills. He said, "basically boys, this is how you

:10:59.:11:05.

poach salmon. " . He was reeled in at the video was spotted on Youtube.

:11:06.:11:17.

Surprised that anyone can phone the whole event and put it on the

:11:18.:11:21.

Internet for all to see. These videos are regularly posted on the

:11:22.:11:28.

Internet from motorists and joyriders. People forget how far it

:11:29.:11:36.

reaches out. In that mode meant of impulse, showing off, they don't

:11:37.:11:44.

think. In this case it leads to serious consequences. Benjamin Cook

:11:45.:11:53.

was fined ?175 with ?300 costs after he pleaded guilty to using an

:11:54.:11:58.

unlicensed net to catch sea trout and salmon. He wasn't `` we were not

:11:59.:12:03.

able to contact him today but in court the poacher said he didn't

:12:04.:12:07.

care about being seen in a video on the Internet.

:12:08.:12:11.

It's a ?95m vision to revive Wokingham town centre with new

:12:12.:12:16.

homes, a supermarket and a hotel. But some residents view it more as a

:12:17.:12:20.

nightmare that will rob them of nearly half their open park space.

:12:21.:12:24.

Enough people have signed a petition against the Elms Field plans to

:12:25.:12:27.

trigger a special council debate which gets underway in less than an

:12:28.:12:32.

hour. Let's cross to Joe Campbell who's there. This is Wokingham. All

:12:33.:12:48.

the councils will be here in one hours time. There has been so much

:12:49.:12:52.

passion about the scheme which the council says is vital if working

:12:53.:12:56.

isn't going to die as a shopping centre. The Christmas lights are on

:12:57.:13:01.

but Wokingham has lost much of its sparkle for shoppers according to

:13:02.:13:05.

the council. They claim it has failed to move with the times. Not

:13:06.:13:11.

that people feel short`changed by what was on offer this evening. I do

:13:12.:13:16.

all my shopping here. It is good to have everything a few minutes away.

:13:17.:13:22.

We haven't got big department stores or anything now. You don't need that

:13:23.:13:31.

very often. We do a lot of our shopping in Wokingham. It is not

:13:32.:13:35.

what it was five or ten years ago but it is still a good enough town

:13:36.:13:38.

and you can get whatever you want here. The council says too much

:13:39.:13:43.

local income is being spent in neighbouring towns. It's as is

:13:44.:13:48.

larger shops, a hotel and supermarkets, much of it built on

:13:49.:13:54.

Elm Fields Park. Not everyone shares the dream. All of this will go. That

:13:55.:14:01.

is the height of the hotel. It is huge. There is a ground swell of

:14:02.:14:08.

opinion that says they don't want it. Both sides they are thinking of

:14:09.:14:17.

future generations with their plans for the park. What they say the town

:14:18.:14:23.

needs remains radically different. I enjoyed by a counsellor here

:14:24.:14:30.

responsible for the regeneration plans. You are saying this is vital

:14:31.:14:37.

to the survival of the town. Absolutely, it is. If we don't do

:14:38.:14:42.

it, the Tamil Thai. 64% of the population don't shop in the area.

:14:43.:14:47.

We want to provide leisure facilities that we think they need.

:14:48.:14:53.

Given the fact that when you stood for election the regeneration was

:14:54.:14:58.

part of the manifesto, what do you say to those who say they will not

:14:59.:15:04.

get a fair hearing? Everyone will get a fair hearing. We are listening

:15:05.:15:11.

every step of the way. We have had 64 consultations so far and every

:15:12.:15:15.

single one of them has led to some form of change to the plans that we

:15:16.:15:20.

have stop all the way through we are doing that. Right now we're doing

:15:21.:15:25.

the same thing. We are asking people for their views and continue to do

:15:26.:15:32.

so until this done. People fearing that this green space will be gone

:15:33.:15:37.

forever. It will be gone forever but we believe the area we are building

:15:38.:15:41.

on is not well used. What we are doing is creating a town park which

:15:42.:15:44.

is the right thing for the middle of Wokingham. We will have 50% more

:15:45.:15:52.

event space, 30% more children's play area and more trees than we

:15:53.:15:59.

already have. They will go away from the meeting and hear what the people

:16:00.:16:02.

have to say. Hampshire Police have been

:16:03.:16:04.

inspecting scrap metal dealers to check they're sticking to new laws

:16:05.:16:08.

designed to stop metal theft. The legislation, which requires

:16:09.:16:11.

businesses to keep records about the sale of scrap, was introduced in

:16:12.:16:14.

October but has only been enforced since Sunday. In their first

:16:15.:16:19.

operation police checked sites in Romsey, Yateley and Portsmouth. Our

:16:20.:16:24.

Home Affairs Correspondent Alex Forsyth was with them.

:16:25.:16:32.

Police enforcing new powers designed to stop metal thefts. This morning

:16:33.:16:36.

they were checking those in the trade are complying with new lawns

:16:37.:16:40.

`` laws which mean new dealers must keep records of where scrap comes

:16:41.:16:47.

from. Paul has run this yard for three years. One of those inspected

:16:48.:16:53.

today. He says he is happy to comply with the regulations in the hope it

:16:54.:16:57.

will keep crooks out of his legitimate trade. It is a good thing

:16:58.:17:03.

because we can wheedle out all the crime. You don't know who you are

:17:04.:17:07.

dealing with so you try and buy stuff and hopefully you are not

:17:08.:17:11.

going to buy stolen stuff. Now it has changed over and it will keep

:17:12.:17:16.

things above board. Changes mean all dealers have to register. Sellers

:17:17.:17:21.

have to produce ID and it is illegal to buy or sell scrap metal for cash

:17:22.:17:27.

so there is a record of all sales. The price of scrap metal has risen

:17:28.:17:32.

over the past few years and it is easy to trade in it and be quite

:17:33.:17:36.

invisible because it is not identifiable. If you take lead that

:17:37.:17:40.

has been stolen of rich earth `` church roof, once it has sold, it is

:17:41.:17:46.

not identifiable. We have to trace who has stolen it and that is by

:17:47.:17:51.

good record`keeping. Stolen scrap metal is big business. There were

:17:52.:17:56.

61,000 offences in the 12 months to March. This was down a lot of it to

:17:57.:18:04.

infrastructure. There were 5000 metal thefts in the South can stop

:18:05.:18:09.

in Portsmouth this morning, not all dealers welcomed the new

:18:10.:18:14.

regulations. John says they are a burden on legitimate businesses like

:18:15.:18:19.

his. It is not doing us any good because we have two have identity

:18:20.:18:26.

proof. It is not just one piece of IDE, you need three. Every five

:18:27.:18:31.

minutes we are getting pulled over from the police and we are just

:18:32.:18:34.

trying to earn some money. It is getting harder. Please say metal

:18:35.:18:40.

theft can affect anything from big companies to local communities so

:18:41.:18:45.

these checks will continue. A woman from West Sussex says Government

:18:46.:18:48.

agreement to change rules on use of agricultural pesticides is a victory

:18:49.:18:52.

for her 12 year campaign. Georgina Downs, who lives near Chichester,

:18:53.:18:56.

fought in the courts to argue for a review of crop spraying policies.

:18:57.:19:01.

Now the Government has accepted recommendations about risk

:19:02.:19:03.

assessments, to give greater protection to people who live near

:19:04.:19:06.

farmers fields. Sean Killick reports. For 12 years, Georgina has

:19:07.:19:18.

been campaigning for tighter rules on crops braying their homes,

:19:19.:19:22.

schools and buildings. She argued through the courts. `` crop

:19:23.:19:29.

spraying. She took these images at the end of her garden. For many

:19:30.:19:35.

years, she has suffered from conditions ranging from rashes to

:19:36.:19:41.

osteoporosis and problems with their eyes. She argued rules about risk

:19:42.:19:46.

assessments haven't offered enough protection to residents who face

:19:47.:19:52.

greater risk. You have long`term exposure, particles in the air,

:19:53.:19:57.

vapour coming and that has never been accounted for. The fact that

:19:58.:20:02.

now the recommendations say there should be to clear risk assessments

:20:03.:20:05.

and that residents should have various different factors of

:20:06.:20:11.

exposure incorporated in, is a significant victory. Pharmacy rules

:20:12.:20:18.

are stringent but they welcome the change. Peculiarly human health is

:20:19.:20:24.

high priority and this report covers sprayer operators and farm workers

:20:25.:20:32.

as well as residents. As regards human health, yes, we of course

:20:33.:20:38.

welcome it. Georgina says the rules do not go far enough and her

:20:39.:20:42.

campaign which has attracted thousands of supporters will

:20:43.:20:46.

continue until there is a complete ban on spring for a substantial

:20:47.1:33:22

distance around schools and homes. Time for the sport now.

1:33:231:33:22

Redding and Reading are back up to fourth in the Championship after

1:33:231:33:22

their second consecutive victory. Bournemouth were in action last

1:33:231:33:22

night. Billy Sharp struck a 13th minute goal to give the Royals all

1:33:231:33:22

three points against Charlton. Nigel Adkin's side are now four games

1:33:231:33:22

unbeaten as they prepare to face Bournemouth at the Mad Stad on

1:33:231:33:22

Saturday. The Cherries slide down the Championship table continued as

1:33:231:33:22

they lost 3`0 at QPR, Former poole Town striker Charlie Austin put

1:33:231:33:22

Harry redknapp's men in front before the break. Junior Hoilett made it

1:33:231:33:22

two after Bournemouth failed to clear this cross, seven defenders

1:33:231:33:22

and the goalkeeper in the box for Bournemouth there. Matt Phillips

1:33:231:33:22

beat Lee Camp at the near post to make it three, Eddie Howe described

1:33:231:33:22

1:33:231:33:22

In the Premier League Southampton will look to beat Aston Villa

1:33:231:33:22

tonight after losing their last two games against Arsenal and Chelsea.

1:33:231:33:22

Villa are 11th and can be dangerous on the break, Saints of course still

1:33:231:33:22

enjoying a fine season, they're seventh. Kris Temple is at St Mary's

1:33:231:33:22

for us tonight. This is unfamiliar territory for Southampton. It is the

1:33:231:33:22

first time this season that they have lost back`to`back matches. They

1:33:231:33:22

are back on home soil for two big games coming up over the next few

1:33:231:33:22

days. Manchester City are here on Saturday. It is Aston Villa first.

1:33:231:33:22

Saints haven't had much luck. The goalkeeper will be out first six

1:33:231:33:22

weeks with a broken hand sustained in a freak incident on Sunday

1:33:231:33:22

afternoon. The absence opens the door for this player. He came in on

1:33:231:33:22

Sunday and conceded a third of those Chelsea goals. A big test for him

1:33:231:33:22

this evening. He has full confidence in the young Argentine. Some of the

1:33:231:33:22

big new signings haven't exactly fired yet. Things haven't gone his

1:33:231:33:22

way so far since rejoining. Be home record is very good. Aston Villa's

1:33:231:33:22

away record is also very good. A break `` a big crowd is sure to turn

1:33:231:33:22

up. Meanwhile Portsmouth have continued

1:33:231:33:22

to interview candidates for their manager's job today, among them

1:33:231:33:22

Steve Claridge. On the field Pompey and Wycombe will try again tonight

1:33:231:33:22

in league two after their first match was abandoned in October. You

1:33:231:33:22

may remember the terrible storm which battered the south coast that

1:33:231:33:22

night, waterlogging the pitch and leading to the abandonment of the

1:33:231:33:22

game.. Four soldiers have set off on a

1:33:231:33:22

cross Atlantic rowing challenge to raise money for injured troops. The

1:33:231:33:22

team are among 16 teams who started the Atlantic challenge and they are

1:33:231:33:22

aiming to grow 3000 miles from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean. The

1:33:231:33:22

race was due to start on Monday but was delayed because of bad weather.

1:33:231:33:22

It is good to see them off and away tonight.

1:33:231:33:22

Better weather there than anywhere else. Looking at the National

1:33:231:33:22

forecast and it looks particularly bad up north at the moment.

1:33:231:33:22

They are looking at gale force wind gusts of up to 90 mph. With that...

1:33:231:33:22

We are just out of the warning zone. That doesn't mean we will have some

1:33:231:33:22

`` we will not have some gale force winds in our region. We do have some

1:33:231:33:22

pictures for you. Dan Smith captured Shetland Ponies in the New Forest

1:33:231:33:22

sharing the same patch of grass. Amelia Coffen took this festive

1:33:231:33:22

photo of a robin in Knowle near Wareham. And Sue Pratt captured the

1:33:231:33:22

sun setting over Oliver's Battery in Winchester.

1:33:231:33:22

We were inundated with sunsets. They are on our website. Through the

1:33:231:33:22

course of tonight, we will have clear skies courtesy of the sun

1:33:231:33:22

going down. The chance of a frost under the clear skies with

1:33:231:33:22

temperatures falling away towards freezing. The winds will start to

1:33:231:33:22

increase during the second part of the night and we will see some

1:33:231:33:22

clouds Berlin from the West. Judges down to freezing in the countryside.

1:33:231:33:22

`` cloud spell in. It may be a frosty start for some in the

1:33:231:33:22

morning. There is increasing wind and you're having some squally

1:33:231:33:22

conditions and gale force gusts are a possibility. The bulk of the day

1:33:231:33:22

should stay dry tomorrow. We hold on to the mild conditions before the

1:33:231:33:22

weather front which is edging its way into the northern part of the

1:33:231:33:22

region. It will move southwards after dark. It will rattle through

1:33:231:33:22

bringing with it a brisk wind. The skies were clear and temperatures

1:33:231:33:22

will fall away once again. It should stay dry to start the day on Friday

1:33:231:33:22

morning. This is the Arctic air we are experiencing. Very short Arctic

1:33:231:33:22

air coming our way. The high`pressure pushes the weather out

1:33:231:33:22

towards the North continent. The isobars were wind in and it is a

1:33:231:33:22

mainly dry on Friday until the evening time when we could have the

1:33:231:33:22

odd shower. There will be some sunshine for Friday with increasing

1:33:231:33:22

cloud later on in the day. Here is your outlook for the rest of the

1:33:231:33:22

week. Cloud around tomorrow and some rain first thing. A bright start the

1:33:231:33:22

day for most of us and we can expect further rain towards the evening

1:33:231:33:22

time and after dark. With it, squally winds. Perhaps gale force

1:33:231:33:22

gusts at around 50 mph. Lots of sunshine and feeling called on

1:33:231:33:22

Friday. More cloud for the weekend. Tomorrow we will have reaction to

1:33:231:33:22

the Chancellor's Autumn Statement and some karate for you. Not

1:33:231:33:22

connected! Good night.
