Good evening. That's all from us. | :00:08. | :00:09.
A man from Banbury accused of killing | :00:10. | :00:11.
a 17`year`old boy has been described in court as jealous, paranoid and | :00:12. | :00:14.
The jury heard Will Blencowe was so angry that Connor Tremble was | :00:15. | :00:19.
dating his former partner, he stabbed him at least 10 times. | :00:20. | :00:22.
Aimee Harrison, the woman at the centre of this murder trial, was | :00:23. | :00:29.
She went out with Will Blencowe for four years, | :00:30. | :00:33.
In January she got together with 17`year`old Connor Tremble | :00:34. | :00:39.
The prosecution claims Mr Blencowe couldn't handle her being happy with | :00:40. | :00:44.
someone else and that's what motivated him to commit murder. | :00:45. | :00:48.
It's alleged that on February the 13th Mr Blencowe took a taxi | :00:49. | :00:51.
from Oxford station to Connor Tremble's house in Fairacres Road. | :00:52. | :00:57.
When he arrived the prosecution say Mr Tremble tried to defend himself | :00:58. | :01:00.
with his arms but was repeatedly stabbed all over his body. | :01:01. | :01:20.
Aimee Harrison, who's 20, said Mr Blencowe owned | :01:21. | :01:22.
a collection of knives at his home in Banbury, she said he would pose | :01:23. | :01:26.
The jury also heard a 999 call made by Mr Tremble's friend | :01:27. | :01:32.
Two other men are also on trial over Connor's death. | :01:33. | :01:42.
Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire have more families struggling with debts | :01:43. | :01:47.
they can't pay than other parts of the south. | :01:48. | :01:49.
That's according to a new report, put together by two charities. | :01:50. | :01:52.
The Children's Society and Stepchange say around | :01:53. | :01:54.
a quarter of families living in East Oxford are unable to meet household | :01:55. | :01:57.
A year ago Emma found herself homeless | :01:58. | :02:05.
Despite being a working mum, the 30`year`old from Witney had also | :02:06. | :02:10.
I was left with debt from a previous relationship because everything was | :02:11. | :02:27.
in my name. It is easy to get into debt with payday loans especially. | :02:28. | :02:33.
She's now paid most of the debt off, but according to new research, | :02:34. | :02:36.
Emma's family isn't the only one which has had problems. | :02:37. | :02:38.
New figures suggest in the South East, | :02:39. | :02:40.
Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire have some the highest number of families | :02:41. | :02:44.
That's when they can't keep up with bill or loan repayments. | :02:45. | :02:49.
In east Oxford 25 percent of families are living with these | :02:50. | :02:53.
problem levels, compared to 21 percent in Banbury. | :02:54. | :02:57.
Fewer families are affected in Milton Keynes though, | :02:58. | :03:00.
It's slightly lower in Wantage and Witney, with 16 percent | :03:01. | :03:06.
And in Abingdon and Aylesbury, it's 14 percent. | :03:07. | :03:11.
So why are so many families finding it difficult to manage their | :03:12. | :03:14.
For many families that we talked to it was sudden and often did costs of | :03:15. | :03:31.
living that moved debts into becoming a problem and caused them | :03:32. | :03:37.
to become problematic. Some of the other concerns was worth someone in | :03:38. | :03:41.
household lost their job or where someone became ill. | :03:42. | :03:43.
With Emma's finances under control, she's now hoping she stay clear | :03:44. | :03:45.
Work's now underway to transform the Great Western Line | :03:46. | :03:54.
so electric trains can run on it and we've been given exclusive | :03:55. | :03:57.
access to the trackside to see a key piece of machinery in action. | :03:58. | :04:00.
It's a factory on wheels that's cost ?40 million. | :04:01. | :04:04.
It's used at night so trains can keep running during the day. | :04:05. | :04:07.
With more details, here's our Transport Correspondent, | :04:08. | :04:09.
From clocking on at the Swindon Depot to starting on`site | :04:10. | :04:17.
It is already one o'clock in the morning and raining hard. | :04:18. | :04:28.
But when this factory train gets going it is impressive. | :04:29. | :04:32.
These piles hold the gantries on which power lines | :04:33. | :04:37.
It is the first stage, the transformation | :04:38. | :04:41.
We are through the testing and commissioning phase and | :04:42. | :04:48.
This ?40 million train is called Brunel and carries everything it | :04:49. | :04:59.
needs to dig holes, mix and pour concrete, erect overhead | :05:00. | :05:04.
We have to install 18,000 of these piles all along the route. | :05:05. | :05:15.
We can do this while the adjacent line remains open. | :05:16. | :05:21.
This is the biggest railway investment | :05:22. | :05:24.
We are investing a huge amount of money to electrify the route. | :05:25. | :05:33.
So by 2016 we will have faster trains and cleaner trains. | :05:34. | :05:40.
The train will be five times faster than conventional gangs of track | :05:41. | :05:43.
workers, taking years off the modernisation of the Great Western. | :05:44. | :05:48.
The price tag for the whole project, around ?1.5 billion. | :05:49. | :05:54.
The team will work westwards, one mile a night, reaching Oxford, | :05:55. | :05:59.
Newbury, Swindon and eventually Bristol | :06:00. | :06:03.
In the past this would have required five years | :06:04. | :06:14.
But by breakfast time, trains will be running again, | :06:15. | :06:21.
Football, and in the League Cup, all our local teams are through to | :06:22. | :06:35.
The MK Dons knocked out AFC Wimbledon 3`1. | :06:36. | :06:39.
Alexis is coming up with the weather forecast. | :06:40. | :06:46.
The odd shower is possibility and temperatures tonight falling to | :06:47. | :07:07.
around 11 degrees. Perhaps just into Sigel fingers in the countryside. `` | :07:08. | :07:18.
single fingers. We start to see showers developing the afternoon and | :07:19. | :07:22.
these could be on the heavy side but not as frequent or heavy as today. | :07:23. | :07:26.
And there will be some sunshine. So pretty decent day tomorrow but heavy | :07:27. | :07:31.
rain is expected on Thursday. Coming up next the national weather | :07:32. | :07:33.
forecast. of a messy couple of days with some | :07:34. | :07:36.
heavy rain and showers but here'sing Matt with the national weather. | :07:37. | :07:41.
Good evening. Given the recent change in weather conditions I am | :07:42. | :07:45.
esure a few of you have mentioned "autumn" who would blame new western | :07:46. | :07:49.
Scotland today a mid-August day, driving wind, strong winds, | :07:50. | :07:53.
temperatures at one po incompetent were just 13. A better day tomorrow, | :07:54. | :07:57.
here, though. The cloud we have had today will work southwards. You will | :07:58. | :08:01.
notice still unstable air across England and Wales. Lively | :08:02. | :08:03.
thunderstorms through today. They are fading away by in large. One or | :08:04. | :08:07.
two showers in the West but longer, clearer periods here. We still have | :08:08. | :08:11.
that cloud, pushing through to the Scotland, Northern Ireland, north | :08:12. | :08:14.
Wales and the north Midlands by the end of the night. But rather than | :08:15. | :08:19.
persistent rain, away from the hills it'll be | :08:20. | :08:20. |
