Good evening, and welcome to BBC Points West. Our headlines on this | :00:10. | :00:14.
stormy Tuesday evening. Fighting to stay at home, Shrien Dewani takes | :00:14. | :00:17.
his appeal to the High Court, as the South Africans let slip he may | :00:17. | :00:26.
not be safe in prison over there. Protests fail as planners rule the | :00:26. | :00:33.
Tropicana in Weston must be pulled down. | :00:33. | :00:39.
Frozen wages, rising prices, Lamb has, by 20%. I am in Taunton to | :00:39. | :00:43.
find out. And, let's hope he fits through the | :00:43. | :00:53.
:00:53. | :00:54. | ||
chimney - Santa delivering presents, Hello. The Bristol businessman | :00:54. | :00:57.
accused of arranging his wife's murder while on honeymoon in South | :00:57. | :01:00.
Africa has been detained for a further six months due to his | :01:00. | :01:05.
mental health. The revelation came on the first day of a High Court | :01:05. | :01:08.
hearing in London. Shrien Dewani and his legal team are fighting a | :01:08. | :01:12.
decision to send him back to face trial. He denies any involvement in | :01:12. | :01:22.
:01:22. | :01:23. | ||
the killing of his new bride, Anni. What's been said today? Much of | :01:23. | :01:27.
today has been taken up with legal document from Shrien Dewani's | :01:27. | :01:35.
barrister. It is his legal team that brings this challenge to his | :01:35. | :01:40.
extradition at the High Court. Two key areas, much of the focus was on | :01:40. | :01:45.
his mental health, we have heard before he has been diagnosed with | :01:45. | :01:48.
severe post-traumatic stress disorder, and severe depression. | :01:48. | :01:53.
The court was told he is not getting any better, he still is not | :01:53. | :01:56.
being treated with anti-depressants because of a reaction he had to the | :01:56. | :02:01.
medication previously, his treatment goes on in Bristol, he | :02:01. | :02:06.
was not in court today, he did not need to be here. He is on suicide | :02:06. | :02:11.
watch and is checked every 15-30 minutes. His barrister says that he | :02:11. | :02:17.
would not receive that type of care if he was sent back to South Africa | :02:17. | :02:23.
and incarcerated. We were told today that he remains detained | :02:23. | :02:26.
under the Mental Health Act in this country, and that attention has | :02:26. | :02:30.
been extended for six months. For South Africans, starting to get | :02:30. | :02:34.
some of their argument later this afternoon, they will continue | :02:34. | :02:40.
tomorrow morning, the barrister said that much of this evidence was | :02:40. | :02:45.
already voiced back in the summer. The decision made by the district | :02:45. | :02:48.
judge at that time to extradite was right and proper, they say. It was | :02:48. | :02:53.
carefully considered and an exceptionally detailed will lend. | :02:53. | :02:57.
But as for Shrien Dewani's legal team, they say is that the figure | :02:57. | :03:00.
does not have the system that would protect him, not only from other | :03:00. | :03:05.
inmates, but also from himself, as he is a suicide The Dewani case has | :03:05. | :03:11.
been going on for more than a year now - are we any further forward? | :03:11. | :03:16.
Not really. We are no further forward in finding out what | :03:16. | :03:21.
happened on their honeymoon in South Africa, we are no further | :03:21. | :03:24.
forward in finding out any guilt or innocence as regards Shrien | :03:24. | :03:32.
Dewani's role. This is an academic exercise, a forensic exercise, | :03:32. | :03:36.
lawyers talking to other lawyers, deciding whether or not the | :03:36. | :03:39.
extradition ruling made in the summer should be upheld, or whether | :03:39. | :03:47.
it should be thrown out. A 40-year-old woman has died after | :03:47. | :03:50.
an accident involving a forklift truck at a cash and carry near | :03:50. | :03:52.
Bristol. The incident happened yesterday lunchtime at Bookers in | :03:52. | :03:55.
Avonmouth. The woman, who is believed to have been a member of | :03:55. | :03:58.
staff, was taken to Frenchay Hospital, but later died. The | :03:58. | :04:01.
Health and Safety Executive's been informed, and the police say | :04:01. | :04:06.
they're investigating. It seems as if the death knell has been sounded | :04:07. | :04:09.
for Weston-super-Mare's Tropicana. This afternoon, councillors voted | :04:09. | :04:12.
to demolish the once-vibrant open- air pool complex, which has been | :04:12. | :04:17.
empty for more than a decade. Protestors called the decision | :04:17. | :04:21.
massively disappointing. But a consortium of local businesses say | :04:21. | :04:31.
:04:31. | :04:36. | ||
Even at the 11th hour, there were those trying to persuade the | :04:36. | :04:42.
council has to think again. But inside, they were preparing to vote | :04:42. | :04:45.
for demolition, saying it every possible avenue had been explored, | :04:45. | :04:51.
every option considered. In the end, it was a unanimous vote, and not | :04:51. | :04:54.
even a last-minute plan, put together by local business leaders | :04:54. | :05:00.
to rebuild a community Poole, could persuade the council has otherwise. | :05:00. | :05:05.
They were St yours was a fantasy plan, not credible, not real. -- | :05:05. | :05:11.
they were saying. You have known me for many years, have I ever touched | :05:12. | :05:18.
anything which has been a fantasy?! You are serious? Of course! | :05:18. | :05:23.
money? If it is a community project, you have got to be looking for | :05:23. | :05:28.
money from everywhere. It is true that there have been many false | :05:28. | :05:33.
dawns for the Tropicana. Many plants have come and gone. Today, | :05:33. | :05:38.
the feeling was that looking back to the glory days is no good. | :05:38. | :05:42.
Weston-super-Mare should move forward. We have to stop keeping | :05:42. | :05:46.
this in the air. People have been going on for 12 years, trying to | :05:46. | :05:50.
find a solution, and every time, you get to the 11th hour, somebody | :05:50. | :05:55.
says, give it a bit more time. After more than a decade, this | :05:55. | :05:59.
building is to be demolished, with one local councillor likening it to | :05:59. | :06:03.
the famous Monty Python parrot sketch, it is, he said, dead, | :06:03. | :06:09.
deceased, no more. Is that it? Maybe not. The consortium of local | :06:09. | :06:15.
business people said they are not giving up yet. Maybe the final line | :06:15. | :06:24.
of this Monty Python sketch has not Official figures out today show | :06:24. | :06:27.
that prices are rising eight times as fast as wages, and in the West | :06:27. | :06:37.
:06:37. | :06:45. | ||
Country, the gap is even worse. The numbers are all about prices. | :06:45. | :06:49.
If you get these decisions, they pack a typical basket with | :06:49. | :06:53.
everything a family needs, chocolate gingerbread, a tin of | :06:53. | :06:57.
pineapple, and the Gas Bill, the family feel for the family car. If | :06:57. | :07:03.
you put everything into a basket, it would cost 100 a year ago, this | :07:03. | :07:08.
year, it would cost an extra 4 Haiti. That is only half of the | :07:08. | :07:17.
story. I am in Taunton, and wages have fallen. By 5% across the last | :07:17. | :07:23.
year. Across the south-west of England, nothing. There have been | :07:23. | :07:27.
no wage rises, not a penny. That is what people have had on their pay | :07:27. | :07:34.
packets. Frozen wages, you should hear from the DRS, the teachers, | :07:34. | :07:38.
the firefighters, they know all about it. | :07:38. | :07:45.
We have accepted a pay freeze, we understand times are hard. | :07:45. | :07:53.
Inflation is 5%. With a pay freeze, it works out as a 15% pay cut. | :07:53. | :07:57.
of this couple work as care assistants, vital work, but not | :07:57. | :08:00.
well paid. Recently, they have noticed inflation eating away at | :08:00. | :08:07.
their wallets. We had a bit extra to put away for a holiday, | :08:07. | :08:11.
different things, but now, that is not being put away, you are using | :08:11. | :08:18.
it right away for essentials. People are buying brisket, shin of | :08:18. | :08:23.
beef, the cheaper cuts, sausages. This Bucher tells a familiar story | :08:23. | :08:28.
with a festive twist. Whole turkeys are expensive, many, he says, | :08:28. | :08:35.
ordering for the cheaper joints instead. Last year, I sold 10 | :08:35. | :08:43.
turkeys and 200 of that. It is easier to sell a turkey, but they | :08:43. | :08:53.
are saving money. Prices are up 28 -- 22% for lamb in 12 months. | :08:53. | :08:59.
is happening? What is going on? I introduced the couple to a man who | :08:59. | :09:04.
had been the eyes and ears of the Bank of England in the West Country. | :09:04. | :09:07.
Meat prices have been coming up over the last two or three years, | :09:07. | :09:12.
partly because, out in China, people are eating more meat, so the | :09:12. | :09:18.
international price of meat is going up, domestically, inflation | :09:18. | :09:22.
is very low indeed, and it is the imported inflation that has pushed | :09:22. | :09:28.
the cost of living up. If you think you're shopping has gone up, try | :09:28. | :09:35.
pink this bill. Prices for plastic drainage have gone up to eight and | :09:35. | :09:40.
23% in 12 months. Mentors have gone up 15%. The year before, a similar | :09:40. | :09:44.
increase. Builders like him have been hit by double-digit price | :09:44. | :09:50.
rises this year, and he wants to know why. As China and Brazil and | :09:50. | :09:56.
India have started to grow again quite fast, that has made the price | :09:56. | :10:02.
of the materials quite difficult for those of us in the UK. Back | :10:02. | :10:05.
home, this woman insists on showing me what a Christmas is really all | :10:05. | :10:11.
about. But keeping the home warm for a new baby and getting a hot | :10:12. | :10:15.
dinner made is now the biggest headache of all. This year, gas | :10:15. | :10:21.
bills rose by nearly a quarter. Why? It is not the man from | :10:21. | :10:29.
Somerset, but Shanghai. He needs to be thinking about China, because | :10:30. | :10:34.
for him, it is China and all of those emerging market economies | :10:34. | :10:38.
that are growing so fast, India, Brazil, Russia, that is what you | :10:38. | :10:48.
:10:48. | :10:49. | ||
need to be focusing on in the years ahead! | :10:49. | :10:52.
Raphael, if you're watching, have a lovely Christmas. I know Nan and | :10:52. | :10:58.
Granps would give up their turkey roast to give you a special day. Do | :10:59. | :11:04.
you like tinned asparagus? Tinned vegetables, fresh, it has risen by | :11:04. | :11:11.
4% this year. The tinned stuff by 20%. The Chinese factories are | :11:11. | :11:21.
:11:21. | :11:27. | ||
competing for the metal that makes You're watching BBC Points West on | :11:27. | :11:31.
a day when the weather has really been a talking point. Yes, we have | :11:31. | :11:35.
had hail stones, winds, rain, and now snow in some parts tonight. | :11:35. | :11:42.
I am outside, the forecast is for further heavy showers, snow over | :11:42. | :11:50.
the Cotswolds and the Forest of Dean, Wendy, called Micro. -- windy, | :11:50. | :12:00.
:12:00. | :12:02. | ||
cold. I will have the details later. The trial of two men accused of | :12:02. | :12:05.
murdering a young father over his mobile phone. Keith Soons died | :12:05. | :12:08.
after being stabbed in the head at Wellington Lane in Cheltenham. It's | :12:08. | :12:11.
alleged he had been trying to get his iPhone back from the two | :12:11. | :12:17.
accused. They're each blaming each other for the fatal blow. What's | :12:17. | :12:24.
been happening today? There are two men in the trial, the | :12:24. | :12:29.
court has heard from one of them, Michael Sexton. He says that he and | :12:29. | :12:35.
his co-accused in the early hours of that day, Richard Smith, had | :12:35. | :12:38.
been on a night out in Cheltenham, they were on their way home when | :12:38. | :12:42.
they saw Keith Soons mind on the steps of his friend's flat, waiting | :12:42. | :12:46.
for him to come home. That is when they decided to carry out the | :12:46. | :12:52.
robbery, they took his fine, it took his wallet, and his rink. Mr | :12:52. | :12:55.
Sexton says that Keith Soons followed the men, trying to | :12:55. | :13:00.
remonstrate with them, to say, or I want my phone back, and saying, it | :13:00. | :13:05.
has got pictures of my wife and kids on it. They went down to a | :13:05. | :13:11.
lane, Wellington Lane, and that is where Michael Jackson says -- | :13:11. | :13:15.
Michael Sexton says Richard Smith delivered the fatal blow. They | :13:15. | :13:19.
admit taking the telephone, but they denied being responsible for | :13:19. | :13:27.
the killing. Keith Soons' family have been in court, what have they | :13:27. | :13:32.
-- what has their reaction been? has been a troubling time, hearing | :13:32. | :13:36.
the details of how he has been found. I have looked over and seen | :13:36. | :13:41.
all of the family, covering their ears, trying to shield from what | :13:41. | :13:45.
has been horrific and graphic testimony. The trial continues. | :13:45. | :13:49.
Tomorrow, the court hears from Richard Smith, his defence said | :13:49. | :13:54.
that Michael Sexton, what he has said, that he feels suicidal by | :13:54. | :13:58.
what had happened, it is a complete pack of lies, and that he carried | :13:58. | :14:07.
out the attack. New research into the cause of school absence has | :14:07. | :14:10.
found that up to 1% of secondary pupils could be suffering from | :14:10. | :14:13.
chronic fatigue, also known as ME. The report by Bristol University | :14:13. | :14:15.
says long-term absences can damage educational performance and calls | :14:15. | :14:23.
on schools to do more to identify 12-year-old Tianna was diagnosed | :14:23. | :14:29.
with chronic fatigue18 months ago. But even though Mum saw the sudden | :14:29. | :14:32.
change in her little girl, for a long time, no-one knew what was | :14:32. | :14:42.
wrong with her. She did not want to get up, she did not eat, she did | :14:42. | :14:46.
not have much communication, she was paralysed. We ended up having | :14:46. | :14:50.
to carry her to accident and emergency. It was not until the | :14:50. | :14:54.
third time that we got referred to a consultant. It was horrible, | :14:54. | :14:59.
because as a parent, you just felt helpless. And for Tianna, it was so | :14:59. | :15:05.
debilitating that she didn't even want to see her friends. I felt | :15:05. | :15:11.
really embarrassed, they said, do you want to do something? I said, I | :15:11. | :15:15.
feel too tired. I did not want to talk to them about it, they would | :15:15. | :15:19.
not understand. The study, carried out by the University, looked at | :15:19. | :15:21.
data from almost 3,000 schoolchildren. It found that 1% of | :15:21. | :15:24.
11 to 16-year-olds suffering with the illness went undiagnosed, and | :15:24. | :15:28.
many of them had been ill for almost two years. The knock-on | :15:28. | :15:38.
effect was long-term absences from school. We are keen that schools, | :15:38. | :15:44.
especially in this area, where there is this service, that they | :15:44. | :15:47.
are aware that this is a potential cause for children missing school, | :15:47. | :15:52.
that they find out what the children' -- children's problems | :15:52. | :15:57.
are. If they have fitted, children should get help and assessment. | :15:57. | :15:59.
Treatment is effective. treatment is gradual, and involves | :15:59. | :16:07.
sleep restriction and slowly increasing activities. We have to | :16:07. | :16:11.
manage the time, and do different activities, that would help me get | :16:11. | :16:16.
stronger. I was only allowed to have 10 hours' sleep, or it would | :16:16. | :16:21.
make me get worse. For Tianna, it took almost a year to fully recover, | :16:21. | :16:30.
and now she's kept busy with her new puppy, Prince. | :16:30. | :16:33.
A report out today reveals drugs and bullying continue to be a | :16:33. | :16:35.
problem at Erlestoke Prison near Devizes. It follows a short | :16:35. | :16:38.
unannounced visit by the Chief Inspector to the jail, since its | :16:38. | :16:42.
last full inspection three years ago. He says improvements have been | :16:42. | :16:50.
made, but more still needs to be done. | :16:50. | :16:55.
Drugs and bullying are still high on the agenda. When we did allow | :16:55. | :17:00.
full inspection in 2008, we found that a quarter of the prisoners | :17:00. | :17:04.
tested positive for drugs or were refusing to take a test. At this | :17:04. | :17:09.
time, it was down to about eight or 9%, so there had been a big drop, | :17:09. | :17:15.
but it was still much too high. We also found that 60% of prisoners | :17:16. | :17:19.
said they had been victims of bullying, but the prisoners still | :17:19. | :17:23.
have more work to do to get on top of the problem. The Governor of | :17:23. | :17:26.
Erlestoke said today he appreciates more work must be done, and he will | :17:26. | :17:36.
:17:36. | :17:40. | ||
not tolerate any drugs and Her doctors have called her a | :17:40. | :17:42.
medical miracle. Bobsleigh athlete Serita Shone, who trains at the | :17:42. | :17:45.
University of Bath, fractured her spine in a crash in Germany in | :17:45. | :17:48.
October. At first, she thought she'd be paralysed, but after two | :17:48. | :17:51.
operations and seven weeks in hospital, she's been allowed home | :17:51. | :17:57.
for Christmas. On her feet, out of hospital, and | :17:57. | :18:02.
home, but instead of Christmas cards, Serita Shone's house is full | :18:02. | :18:07.
of get-well wishes. I was excited about coming back to my bed, new | :18:07. | :18:12.
sheets, mother's cooking. It is really good to be home. She had | :18:12. | :18:16.
switched from the heptathlon to bobsleigh. In Germany, training for | :18:16. | :18:20.
her first competition with the British team, she was brakeman, | :18:20. | :18:25.
tucked in behind the driver, when there bobsled left the track. | :18:25. | :18:31.
went up into the corner, there was a driving error of some description, | :18:31. | :18:36.
we went up into the wood at the top, and peeled off. I came down, and I | :18:36. | :18:41.
was underneath it, it came down on me, my back hit the ice first, and | :18:41. | :18:46.
everything else came in. The next corner whipped us round, and the | :18:46. | :18:50.
bobsled was on its right hand side, so my back was against the curve. | :18:50. | :18:54.
There was still pressure from the corner pushing down. I have never | :18:54. | :19:00.
felt pain like it. Medical teams moved in quickly. She had two a | :19:00. | :19:06.
major operations. They said to me, you have broken your back, you | :19:06. | :19:09.
might have bleeding in the spine, telling me as it was, not to keep | :19:10. | :19:14.
me in the dark, and knowing that I might not be able to walk again, I | :19:14. | :19:18.
tried not to think about it, but there were times that I thought, | :19:18. | :19:23.
what am I going to do? I cannot put into words how that makes you feel, | :19:23. | :19:30.
but it is not nice. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and I can | :19:30. | :19:35.
walk and Stan now. She is making an amazing recovery. But she is still | :19:35. | :19:40.
on painkillers, and can only walk and stand for short periods. Next, | :19:40. | :19:46.
a rehabilitation programme, then, slowly, into training. I have taken | :19:46. | :19:51.
the back injury, one of my friends said to be that every bobsleigh | :19:51. | :19:55.
athlete has one bad crash in their career, so from now, it must be | :19:55. | :19:59.
smooth sailing! It may not be this season, but she says she will be | :19:59. | :20:04.
back. I do not doubt that she will be | :20:05. | :20:11.
back! Bristol Rovers have moved a step | :20:11. | :20:14.
closer to a new stadium after signing a legal contract with the | :20:14. | :20:17.
University of the West of England to build on their land. They want | :20:17. | :20:19.
to construct a 20,000-seater venue at the University's Frenchay Campus | :20:20. | :20:22.
in South Gloucestershire. Rovers have also signed a contract with | :20:22. | :20:27.
Sainsbury's, who will buy the Memorial Stadium. | :20:27. | :20:32.
We have had three lots of consultation already. Inevitably, | :20:33. | :20:36.
there are concerns about the traffic and the infrastructure to | :20:36. | :20:41.
be able to support the stadium. But what we have been able to do is | :20:41. | :20:45.
reassure the local people that we have got something like 24 buses | :20:45. | :20:49.
already that we provide, and rail infrastructure, meaning that we | :20:49. | :20:52.
will be making it more sustainable. Further consultation on both | :20:52. | :20:55.
schemes will begin in the New Year, with both Rovers and Sainsbury's | :20:55. | :21:03.
hoping to submit plans by March. Yeovil Town replay their FA Cup | :21:03. | :21:05.
second-round tie against Fleetwood tonight, with the winners facing | :21:05. | :21:11.
Blackpool. The sides drew 2-2 when they played 11 days ago, after the | :21:11. | :21:15.
non-league club scored twice in the last eight minutes. Kick-off is at | :21:15. | :21:25.
:21:25. | :21:28. | ||
If you are going to the match, there has been an accident on the | :21:28. | :21:32.
cart it link road, and there is heavy traffic, so try to find an | :21:32. | :21:36.
alternative route if you want to get there for kick-off. Now, we may | :21:36. | :21:38.
be just days away from Father Christmas rocketing across our | :21:38. | :21:41.
skies, but for some young children in Gloucestershire, the man in the | :21:41. | :21:45.
red suit dropped in a little early. He made a flying visit to give | :21:45. | :21:48.
presents to children of soldiers who are serving in Afghanistan and | :21:48. | :21:58.
:21:58. | :22:02. | ||
Christmas comes just once a year, but for these children of soldiers, | :22:02. | :22:06.
Santer was about to arrive early, in the Gloucestershire skies. The | :22:06. | :22:11.
ground crew was made up of his little helpers, or keeping an eye | :22:11. | :22:17.
on health and safety! That was the instruction, and with a senior Elf | :22:17. | :22:27.
:22:27. | :22:30. | ||
He landed safely, but Father Christmas had some navigation | :22:30. | :22:36.
problems. It has been almost a year! But after a few minutes, he | :22:36. | :22:45.
arrived, and as the sun came up, he did what he does best. Jogging on | :22:46. | :22:54.
the spot! 1, 2, 3! And into the warm for the best of it. They are | :22:54. | :22:58.
missing their dad at the moment, especially at Christmas. Like other | :22:58. | :23:03.
two cry all the time. It has been nice to get them away from thinking | :23:03. | :23:09.
about that for a day or so. gives them something to smile about. | :23:10. | :23:16.
Me, I am tearful! One of the jobs of the soldiers is to make sure | :23:16. | :23:20.
that post gets to servicemen and women deployed around the world. | :23:20. | :23:24.
They were determined that the skydive would be delivered. Father | :23:24. | :23:34.
:23:34. | :23:45. | ||
The smiles on their faces, that made it so worthwhile. They know | :23:45. | :23:49.
they have got a parent over there, but they are able to say, Santa | :23:49. | :23:55.
Claus was in Afghanistan last week, and your parents said, can Santa | :23:55. | :23:59.
Claus seat you? They know their family is thinking of them. With | :24:00. | :24:05.
the fund over, the family raced to school. For Father Christmas, a bit | :24:05. | :24:15.
:24:15. | :24:17. | ||
more work ahead, especially on his He should have jumped straight down | :24:17. | :24:21.
the chimney! Now, the weather has certainly been | :24:21. | :24:24.
a talking point today, and will be for a few days to come, it seems. | :24:24. | :24:28.
Most of us haven't escaped the hail. There were some large stones rained | :24:28. | :24:31.
down in Bristol this morning. And tonight, it's now snowing in the | :24:31. | :24:41.
:24:41. | :24:48. | ||
Cotswolds. A very mixed picture It was funny about half an hour ago, | :24:48. | :24:53.
it has worn off now, in terms of how I feel about this! Only the | :24:53. | :24:57.
real Santa Claus could parachute from above the freezing level, | :24:57. | :25:02.
rather him than they! It is cold enough here. It will continue into | :25:02. | :25:08.
tonight and tomorrow. The cold feel will continue, and this photograph | :25:08. | :25:13.
was taken of a genuine hailstorm, one of many feeding up through the | :25:13. | :25:19.
Bristol Channel today. Many of you saw them. They will continue to do | :25:19. | :25:23.
so tomorrow night and through tomorrow. There is a threat of snow | :25:23. | :25:25.
across some parts of Gloucestershire in the early part | :25:25. | :25:31.
of tomorrow. This is the broader picture, the isobars close together, | :25:31. | :25:36.
so it remains Windy through the next 24 hours or so. Further | :25:36. | :25:39.
showers across many of the districts through the course of | :25:39. | :25:42.
today, with the threat of something more meaningful first thing | :25:42. | :25:47.
tomorrow morning. By this time tomorrow, many of us will have dry | :25:47. | :25:54.
conditions. It has been anything but today. The treachery of the | :25:54. | :26:03.
showers is pretty similar. -- trajectory. There has been a fair | :26:03. | :26:07.
amount of lightning about as well, which is focused around a Bristol | :26:08. | :26:16.
Channel. Quite a few flashes. Much of it, positive stroke like men. -- | :26:16. | :26:21.
lightning. It can cause more damage. Through the rest of this evening | :26:21. | :26:27.
and into tonight, it remains windy. The showers giving a mix of rain, | :26:28. | :26:32.
hail and snow. We have had some other the Cotswolds and some over X | :26:32. | :26:38.
more. One thing that concerns me, the threat of icy stretches on | :26:38. | :26:43.
roads. The temperatures will drop perilously close to freezing. I | :26:43. | :26:47.
would treat the unquoted roads, particularly over high ground, with | :26:47. | :26:52.
caution. The rest of tomorrow, the threat of snow, some uncertainty. | :26:52. | :26:57.
The Forest of Dean, the Cotswolds, the first part of the day. | :26:57. | :27:01.
Thereafter, showers feeding in behind, which could give help and | :27:01. | :27:08.
lightning. It remains windy. It will turn particularly when the | :27:08. | :27:12.
