Good evening and welcome to BBC Points West. | :00:12. | :00:16.
Our headlines tonight: Inside the dog house - 56 large | :00:16. | :00:19.
dogs and five children share a four-bed house, today the parents | :00:19. | :00:25.
admits animal cruelty. Shrien Dewani stays in Bristol | :00:25. | :00:29.
because a judge says he's too ill to be sent to South Africa to stand | :00:29. | :00:32.
trial over the murder of his wife Topping up a panic - businesses | :00:32. | :00:42.
:00:42. | :00:42. | ||
start to suffer as some petrol stations close. It seems to be | :00:43. | :00:47.
crazy all of the place. There are queues everywhere. The price hike | :00:47. | :00:51.
as well. And a sour note at the carnival | :00:51. | :01:01.
:01:01. | :01:21. | ||
amid rows of how big this year's The family of Shrien Dewani say | :01:21. | :01:24.
he's determined to one day travel to South Africa to clear his name. | :01:24. | :01:26.
The Bristol businessman has been spared extradition, for now, after | :01:27. | :01:29.
the High Court ruled he's not mentally well enough. The care home | :01:30. | :01:32.
owner is accused of murdering his wife on their honeymoon, something | :01:32. | :01:41.
he's always denied. Andrew Plant was at the High Court. | :01:41. | :01:44.
Since he returned from South Africa Shrien Dewani has been under almost | :01:44. | :01:46.
constant psychiatric care His condition so serious, say doctors, | :01:46. | :01:50.
he's too ill to face a trial. Today his case came to the High Court | :01:50. | :01:53.
challenging a decision to send him back to the country where his new | :01:53. | :01:56.
wife was killed and where he's being accused of masterminding her | :01:56. | :01:59.
murder. His family have all means - - always maintained two things, | :01:59. | :02:01.
when he is innocent in the murder, and he is willing to return to | :02:02. | :02:04.
South Africa to face trial. But only if it can be guaranteed he | :02:04. | :02:07.
will face a fair trial, and he safety is assured before, during | :02:07. | :02:15.
and after the trial. Last summer a judge said those concerns were very | :02:15. | :02:19.
real. But said Mr Dewani should return to South Africa and answer | :02:19. | :02:21.
the accusations. Today the High Court stopped that decision. His | :02:21. | :02:25.
family have said it was the right thing to do. The eventual point | :02:25. | :02:29.
would be for him to go to staff have a go and prove his innocence | :02:29. | :02:34.
but he is not in a position at the present time. Today's decision | :02:34. | :02:37.
means extradition is still possible but the process can only begin | :02:37. | :02:42.
again once he is less to Wisley in -- ill. Anni's family were in court | :02:42. | :02:50.
today, they've attended every proceeding. I feel and we feel | :02:50. | :02:56.
there are a lot of delays and it is very painful for us. We want to get | :02:56. | :03:04.
the truth about what happened to our sister, and we just want him to | :03:04. | :03:09.
get better now so that he can finally go to South Africa and tell | :03:09. | :03:15.
us what happened. Programme's like BBC Panorama are watched closely in | :03:15. | :03:18.
South Africa. Last night it showed the couple hours before their | :03:18. | :03:21.
carjacking for the very first time. Journalists outside court today | :03:21. | :03:25.
said Shrien Dewani has many questions to answer. South African | :03:25. | :03:30.
prosecutors are anxious he answer those questions in court. People | :03:30. | :03:36.
will say what is going on? We want him there to see the truth and seek | :03:36. | :03:43.
justice. Today's decision resets the process. It is a distant | :03:43. | :03:53.
:03:53. | :03:53. | ||
prospect of him standing trial. Well we can speak now to Edward | :03:53. | :03:56.
Grange who's an extradition lawyer. Mr Grange, what happens now? | :03:56. | :04:01.
The High Court determines today because of his mental condition, it | :04:01. | :04:08.
was such it would be unjust for him to return to South Africa to face | :04:08. | :04:13.
trial. The High Court did not completely discharged him from the | :04:13. | :04:17.
extradition request. Be remitted the case back to court for them to | :04:17. | :04:22.
be determined the issue at a later date. He if he shows signs of | :04:22. | :04:25.
improvement and everybody had he does, he goes back to the | :04:25. | :04:29.
magistrates' court, do they take it as read he can go back to South | :04:29. | :04:33.
Africa, or does the whole process start again? The magistrates' court | :04:33. | :04:37.
will continue to hear evidence from the experts in relation to his | :04:37. | :04:40.
mental condition, and once the court has heard evidence the mental | :04:41. | :04:45.
condition no longer exists, it will no longer be oppressive or unjust | :04:45. | :04:49.
to return to South Africa, an extradition can take place. | :04:49. | :04:53.
Realistically, is it likely he ever will go to South Africa? | :04:53. | :04:57.
I think that will be in the hands of the medical professionals who | :04:57. | :05:01.
will be continuing to assess him and update the court as to the | :05:01. | :05:05.
progress he is making under treatment. He is likely to be some | :05:05. | :05:09.
doubt? Yes, the court can continue to | :05:09. | :05:16.
adjourn proceedings until he is better. 20 very much. -- thank you | :05:16. | :05:26.
:05:26. | :05:27. | ||
very much. Many of the region's major petrol | :05:27. | :05:30.
stations have run out of fuel today as drivers continue to top up their | :05:30. | :05:33.
tanks. It's all because of the threat of a delivery strike which | :05:33. | :05:37.
we now know won't happen until at least after the Easter break. As | :05:37. | :05:40.
Scott Ellis has been finding out the panic buying has now started to | :05:40. | :05:42.
affect some small businesses. Rush hour this morning, and the | :05:42. | :05:45.
beginning of the region's steady stampede to the pumps. Demand for | :05:45. | :05:48.
petrol has risen 172 %. By midday evidence the big petrol companies | :05:48. | :05:51.
were failing to deliver. Demand outstripped supply here in | :05:51. | :05:54.
Chippenham as elsewhere. And it was van and lorry drivers, along with | :05:54. | :06:04.
:06:04. | :06:05. | ||
sales reps, who were worst hit. Everywhere was shut. I'm stuck. | :06:05. | :06:09.
are laying tarmac to do the roads. We are the ones that are suffering | :06:09. | :06:14.
because we can't even fill these up. He seems to be crazy all over the | :06:14. | :06:19.
place. There are queues everywhere. The price hike as well, bumped up | :06:19. | :06:24.
the prices on diesel and petrol. Suddenly small firms have a problem. | :06:24. | :06:28.
How to ensure they have enough fuel to get from A to B. This removal | :06:28. | :06:34.
company in Taunton had to adopt unusual tactics. To keep the wheels | :06:34. | :06:39.
rolling and their customers moving. We had adopted constable, | :06:39. | :06:43.
Bournemouth, and reloaded and hoped we would find some fuel. We found | :06:43. | :06:48.
some on the Bournemouth won by going back to the yard and I think | :06:48. | :06:52.
at from one tank from one Vant, and the other when we got some fuel on | :06:52. | :06:57.
the southbound motorways outside Taunton. A bit of a challenge. | :06:57. | :06:59.
supplies should improve overnight. Drivers are being allowed to work | :06:59. | :07:02.
longer hours to get deliveries through. The AA in Wiltshire says | :07:02. | :07:05.
it's still worth planning fuel stops, especially in rural areas. | :07:05. | :07:07.
Wiltshire Fire Service has tonight issued advice to home owners asking | :07:07. | :07:13.
them not to store fuel at home. you haven't updated things on your | :07:13. | :07:18.
Sat Navs it will send you to a garage that is a car sales show | :07:18. | :07:22.
room or a restaurant. Because they are closing in rural areas and | :07:22. | :07:26.
turning into other things. That is another point to note, make sure | :07:26. | :07:32.
you Sat Nav is up to date. Tonight Wiltshire Fire Service has issued | :07:32. | :07:42.
:07:42. | :07:47. | ||
advice to homeowners asking them not to store fuel at home. | :07:47. | :07:50.
A couple who shared their four- bedroom semi with five children and | :07:50. | :07:52.
56 large dogs have appeared in court this afternoon, accused of | :07:52. | :07:55.
animal cruelty. Their home in Minehead was also filled with cats | :07:55. | :07:59.
and birds. In total there were 69 animals in the home. When the RSPCA | :07:59. | :08:02.
raided they were confronted by what they described as a "sea of dogs" | :08:02. | :08:06.
which included huskies and Rottweilers. The court was told the | :08:06. | :08:09.
couple's children were in danger of picking up diseases. James Hassam | :08:09. | :08:11.
reports. When RSPCA inspectors visited | :08:11. | :08:14.
Nicola and John Hood's home, they were overcome by what they called a | :08:14. | :08:20.
"sea of dogs". Little wonder. 56 dogs living, believe it or not, in | :08:20. | :08:30.
:08:30. | :08:32. | ||
one house, alongside cats, birds and chinchillas. These puppies were | :08:32. | :08:35.
found in a makeshift bed in a crate in the dining room. Neighbours | :08:36. | :08:38.
living close to the house in Minehead complained of the endless | :08:38. | :08:42.
noise from the dogs They say the smell was so bad it stopped them | :08:42. | :08:46.
going out into their own gardens. Today, John and Nicola Hood came to | :08:46. | :08:56.
:08:56. | :08:57. | ||
court where they admitted nine counts of animal cruelty. One in | :08:57. | :09:01.
one room RSPCA inspectors found a baby in a cot sleeping next to a | :09:01. | :09:04.
cage in which there were several birds and animal faeces all over | :09:05. | :09:09.
the bedding. It is important people understand the message caged birds | :09:09. | :09:13.
and children don't go together, especially in close proximity. Even | :09:13. | :09:16.
so, the court heard these two were simply misguided, trying to help | :09:17. | :09:20.
animals that otherwise would have been put down by giving them a home. | :09:20. | :09:23.
When they were found, many of the animals had serious health problems. | :09:23. | :09:27.
But most of the dogs have now been rehomed, just eight remain at this | :09:27. | :09:32.
centre at West Hatch. Somerset County Council says it was made | :09:33. | :09:36.
aware of the family and dealt with the issue of child safety with a | :09:36. | :09:46.
:09:46. | :09:47. | ||
satisfactory outcome. Do you have anything to say? No comment. Nicola | :09:47. | :09:56.
and John Hood will return here to be sentenced on the 19th of April. | :09:56. | :09:58.
Seven Gloucestershire libraries will still lose their council | :09:58. | :10:02.
funding as a part of an overhaul of services. The County Council is | :10:02. | :10:05.
expected to agree the proposals next week to try to save 1.8 | :10:05. | :10:08.
million. The authority was taken to the High Court last year by | :10:08. | :10:12.
campaigners who were opposed to funding cuts. Now, after another | :10:12. | :10:15.
round of talks, the council says no libraries have to close but seven | :10:15. | :10:25.
:10:25. | :10:26. | ||
branches will be run by trained community volunteers. So six months | :10:26. | :10:28.
where we worked one-on-one with the community to make sure it works and | :10:28. | :10:34.
get off on the right foot. 18 months ago there wasn't a library | :10:34. | :10:39.
here, and today there is because of what we have put on the table, did | :10:39. | :10:42.
community has taken up the challenge and has a library where | :10:42. | :10:47.
there was not one before. We do we can work and if we work with the | :10:47. | :10:51.
communities we can make -- make it successful in every location. | :10:51. | :10:54.
campaigners say they are concerned that some libraries could still | :10:54. | :10:55.
close, if volunteers don't come forward. | :10:55. | :10:59.
The speed limit is to be lowered outside a school in Frome after a | :10:59. | :11:03.
campaign by parents. Teachers at Berkley School told Points West on | :11:03. | :11:06.
Monday that their classrooms shake when vehicles go past at 60 miles | :11:06. | :11:10.
an hour. Somerset County Council has now agreed that the limit will | :11:10. | :11:14.
be reduced to 20 miles an hour for a trial period beginning in the | :11:14. | :11:19.
summer. You're watching BBC Points West. | :11:19. | :11:28.
Still to come: How the glorious March weather is | :11:28. | :11:38.
:11:38. | :11:42. | ||
making our bluebells bloom before Some pretty stuff coming your way. | :11:42. | :11:45.
First, more news. The owners of a million-pound | :11:45. | :11:48.
mansion in Bristol are going to court to try and evict squatters | :11:48. | :11:51.
who moved in last month. Some of them were involved in the Occupy | :11:51. | :11:54.
protest in the city but said this wasn't an official protest. The | :11:54. | :11:57.
police say that although they are not involved in any eviction | :11:57. | :12:00.
process they have increased patrols in the area as a result of | :12:00. | :12:05.
neighbours' concerns about safety. There's been more criticism of | :12:05. | :12:08.
plans to scale back the St Paul's Carnival. The organisers are | :12:08. | :12:11.
planning a smaller, quieter event this year, partly because of a lack | :12:11. | :12:16.
of funding. But the former artistic director co-ordinator says it's | :12:16. | :12:19.
lost the support of the local community and now he's announced | :12:19. | :12:29.
:12:29. | :12:31. | ||
he's stepping away from it. Since the 1960s carnival has been | :12:31. | :12:35.
bringing people together. But normally in celebration rather than | :12:35. | :12:41.
protest. There is a was a lot of passion and strong feelings about | :12:41. | :12:45.
how the carnival should be run. But this year there are those that just | :12:45. | :12:50.
feel it is not about the scaling back as the decision to hold it | :12:51. | :12:54.
here in Port and square. For many the place that celebrates the theme | :12:54. | :13:01.
of independence, that harks back to Bristol's solid straight fast. | :13:01. | :13:05.
There is health and safety issues in terms of capacity, how many | :13:05. | :13:10.
people can you really fit in space. It has got a really bad feeling. I | :13:10. | :13:14.
don't think it is right it'll. We would be better off with nothing | :13:15. | :13:18.
and using the money we have to do fringe events to which money for a | :13:18. | :13:24.
good event next year. He should be bringing in money to the community. | :13:24. | :13:27.
The Community should be benefiting from this kind of ball. As we are | :13:27. | :13:32.
hearing, it is generating so much revenue for Bristol as a city, but | :13:32. | :13:36.
the community are not seeing any of that benefit. An awful lot has | :13:36. | :13:42.
changed since the carnival was first set up in the 60s. It could | :13:42. | :13:46.
be attended by as many as 100,000 people, and you need security, | :13:46. | :13:50.
health and safety, public facilities. The thing with Paul and | :13:50. | :13:56.
where is it is enclosed, manageable, and it is affordable. -- Portland | :13:56. | :14:01.
Square. Its 90,000 from the Arts Council, 55,000 from the city | :14:01. | :14:04.
council, and a few 1,000 more in small grants and fees. It sounds | :14:05. | :14:11.
like a lot. Until you pay for security and safety, the main stage, | :14:11. | :14:13.
the event management team, and suddenly there is not enough left | :14:13. | :14:19.
to pay your overheads or run at the Durand education project that helps | :14:19. | :14:22.
to cure the Grand funding in the first place. To a put on an event | :14:22. | :14:26.
the scale of last year, the events management, health and safety, | :14:26. | :14:35.
would cost 120,000. That is money we don't have at this time. Add to | :14:35. | :14:39.
then go ahead and put that event on knowingly without that appropriate | :14:39. | :14:45.
events management would be criminal negligence. Just three months into | :14:45. | :14:50.
a carnival, much less than that to find some kind of solution. | :14:50. | :14:53.
Avalon Marshes in Somerset has been given 1.8 million by the Heritage | :14:53. | :14:57.
Lottery Fund to pay for improvements. The area near | :14:57. | :14:59.
Glastonbury supports wildlife like marsh harriers, bitterns and otters, | :14:59. | :15:06.
and attracts around 70,000 people a year. The money will go towards | :15:06. | :15:08.
preserving habitats and archaeological features, as well as | :15:08. | :15:14.
improving visitor facilities. Hundreds of pieces of Titanic | :15:14. | :15:20.
memorabilia are being auctioned off in Wiltshire this weekend. The | :15:20. | :15:25.
items include lunch menus and store keys. The ship sank 100 years ago. | :15:25. | :15:28.
In fact the anniversary is in just over two weeks' time. But | :15:28. | :15:30.
auctioneers say there's been an overwhelming interest in what's on | :15:31. | :15:40.
offer. The Great War two years later, and it was the end of the | :15:40. | :15:46.
sinful strata. Because of that it resonates with so many people. Any | :15:46. | :15:53.
man, woman, and held on the ship had a story to tell. -- and child. | :15:53. | :15:56.
Sport, and tonight Bristol Rugby could take another step towards | :15:56. | :15:58.
promotion. Alistair Durden is at the Memorial Stadium for their | :15:58. | :16:08.
:16:08. | :16:11. | ||
latest playoff game. Lovely night to come and watch a bit of support. | :16:11. | :16:14.
Nottingham are here tonight, the fourth of six group games in this | :16:14. | :16:16.
complicated playoff system. But Bristol's form has been so good | :16:16. | :16:19.
that if they win this evening they'll definitely make it into the | :16:19. | :16:25.
semifinals which take place in May. We have been allowed inside the | :16:25. | :16:29.
home dressing room, we can see some of the players psyching themselves | :16:29. | :16:34.
up for tonight, listening to music, just getting them ready for this | :16:34. | :16:44.
:16:44. | :16:45. | ||
game. They did finish top of the table in the regular season. So | :16:45. | :16:48.
they are favourites to go on and win promotion back to the | :16:48. | :16:51.
Premiership. Something of course we said two years ago when Bristol | :16:51. | :16:58.
blew it in the final against Exeter. They will not want to repeat that. | :16:58. | :17:05.
Well, Chairman Chris Booy is with me. Is it a better Bristol side | :17:05. | :17:12.
than two years ago? Certainly a better team. You could argue boat | :17:12. | :17:15.
was an outstanding individuals, but this team is much stronger, more | :17:15. | :17:20.
mentally prepared. And ready to win the tournament. It did set you back | :17:20. | :17:23.
last time. I guess financially as much as anything we needed and go | :17:23. | :17:28.
up. Are you better prepared for either eventuality? Absolutely. | :17:28. | :17:31.
With Steve Lansdown coming in, we have a three-year plan which is | :17:31. | :17:35.
funded to make sure we get into the Premiership and stay there. | :17:35. | :17:39.
Certainly all the existing players are signed for next season which | :17:39. | :17:45.
wasn't the case two years ago. We have started signing, and more on | :17:45. | :17:49.
the way. We will be stronger, whatever the Query next year. | :17:49. | :17:57.
hope it is the Premiership. Best of luck tonight. | :17:57. | :18:00.
We've also got football tonight, Cheltenham are away at Southend. | :18:00. | :18:03.
And they've gone six games without a win, dropping down to 7th in the | :18:03. | :18:06.
table. In the Championship, Bristol City's need for points is getting | :18:06. | :18:12.
critical. After the mid-week games, they're just one point above the | :18:12. | :18:21.

And in League Two, how will Swindon Town react to their Wembley defeat | :18:25. | :18:29.
last weekend? It's a local derby against Bristol Rovers tomorrow at | :18:29. | :18:32.
the County Ground, and both managers are keen to make a | :18:32. | :18:42.
:18:42. | :18:42. | ||
statement. We have much more reason to win this game, because the | :18:42. | :18:48.
stadium will be new before, we have much more reason because we have to | :18:48. | :18:54.
win this game. We have to be aggressive, but it has to be | :18:54. | :19:00.
controlled aggression. Towards the ball, not was the opposition or the | :19:00. | :19:04.
referee or any of that. We will accept no-nonsense in that respect. | :19:04. | :19:09.
We will go there and compete. With the ball we want to be aggressive. | :19:09. | :19:12.
Snooker and Bristol's Judd Trump has crashed out of the China Open | :19:12. | :19:15.
losing to fellow West Country man Stephen Lee. At 4-2 down the 22- | :19:15. | :19:24.
year-old defending champion managed to hang on with this clearance. But | :19:24. | :19:27.
his Wiltshire opponent hit back with a break of 96 to win by 5 | :19:27. | :19:31.
frames to 3. Lee, from Trowbridge, will now play Stephen Maguire in | :19:31. | :19:37.
the semifinal tomorrow. Cricket, and South Africa's record- | :19:37. | :19:40.
breaking fast bowler Vernon Philander is due to join up with | :19:40. | :19:49.
Somerset on Tuesday ahead of the new season. This week he became the | :19:49. | :19:56.
fastest player to take 50 test wickets in nearly 120 years. His | :19:56. | :20:04.
signing is a massive boost to Somerset. And he'll be in good | :20:04. | :20:07.
company as he's not the only man in the squad to have written himself | :20:07. | :20:16.
From the man who scored the fastest 50 in Twenty20 cricket to the | :20:16. | :20:18.

talent, they'll again be favourites to end their trophy drought. And | :21:04. | :21:06.
they're desperate to shed their "nearly men tag" having finished | :21:06. | :21:14.
runners-up seven times in the last three seasons. People are quite | :21:14. | :21:19.
cynical about it, quite negative you getting so close. The fact of | :21:19. | :21:22.
the matter is we're getting twice from where we were five years ago | :21:22. | :21:25.
to where we are now, a massive difference. If we don't keep | :21:25. | :21:31.
competing consistently we will be a really happy club. -- if we can | :21:31. | :21:35.
keep. The squad is led again by Marcus Trescothick, but contains | :21:35. | :21:38.
some of the country's most promising youngsters. None more so | :21:38. | :21:41.
than Jos Buttler who spent part of the winter with England. I feel a | :21:41. | :21:46.
little bit experienced. I'm still young, claimed the youngster tag | :21:46. | :21:54.
for while with stewed the mistakes, but it is -- I have played good | :21:54. | :21:57.
cricket and needed the Tim Moore Cup performances. The club's | :21:57. | :22:00.
membership is up 10%, and with record profits. An Elton John | :22:00. | :22:04.

ensure the rocker isn't the only one putting in a star performance. | :22:11. | :22:15.
We will take a closer look at Gloucestershire next week, cricket | :22:15. | :22:19.

game and that turn the match at Southend at 10:25pm. | :22:30. | :22:37.
Thanks, Alistair. What a beautiful evening. Well it may be March, but | :22:37. | :22:40.
it certainly doesn't feel like it. We've had hours of sunshine, near | :22:40. | :22:42.
record-breaking temperatures and now the first bluebells are | :22:42. | :22:47.
starting to make an appearance. Alice Bouverie's been on the look- | :22:47. | :22:57.
:22:57. | :23:03. | ||
out, and where better to find them than the Bluebell Field in Weston. | :23:03. | :23:10.
It's all topsy-turvy. The temperatures are more like summer. | :23:10. | :23:14.
But there are no leaves on the trees. Nature, though, is catching | :23:14. | :23:23.
up fast. My colleague in Cornwall saw his first legal at the start of | :23:23. | :23:31.
March, incredibly early. The average time for pupils last year | :23:31. | :23:35.
was able the 12th. More records we can say, we can say where the | :23:35. | :23:40.
average is this year. This is known locally as the Donkey Field where | :23:40. | :23:44.
the donkeys from Weston beach used to spend the winter. In just a few | :23:44. | :23:48.
days time, it'll be a carpet of bluebells. They're a bit further | :23:48. | :23:53.
ahead than bluebells in woodland but that is the first sign of that | :23:53. | :23:58.
quintessential British spring. It is really only. The Woodland Trust | :23:59. | :24:01.
is encouraging people to log on to their website and record their | :24:02. | :24:05.
findings. There, you can also find out where your nearest wood is. So | :24:05. | :24:15.
:24:15. | :24:23. | ||
you can enjoy bluebells for Certainly been a lovely week. | :24:23. | :24:33.
:24:33. | :24:33. | ||
-- to turn. We have been spoiled by the sunshine, but it is back to | :24:33. | :24:37.
reality at the weekend. If business as usual. Are high pressure system | :24:37. | :24:41.
is pushing off to the West. Called Fritz heading our way. They will | :24:42. | :24:46.
not bring us any rain at the weekend, but April -- will bring us | :24:46. | :24:54.
some colder air. Tebbit is taking a drop of. A bit of a nosedive. We | :24:54. | :25:03.
will lose nearly 10 degrees. Temperatures down to 11 which is | :25:03. | :25:07.
average for this time of year. If you have got a nice sunset like | :25:07. | :25:11.
this one, sit on the veranda and sip a cocktail and enjoy it because | :25:11. | :25:15.
we will not see any more warm sun set for the next few days at least. | :25:15. | :25:20.
The weekend looking much colder and cloudier. Be cloud pushing in from | :25:20. | :25:25.
the north overnight. It should be a dry night, just about. Lots of | :25:25. | :25:30.
cloud, Steyn clearest for longest ever southern parts of Somerset. -- | :25:30. | :25:40.
:25:40. | :25:42. | ||
staying clearest. Elsewhere it will be a reasonably mild night. Lots of | :25:42. | :25:50.
cloud around. Perhaps a bit of drizzle over higher ground. Most | :25:50. | :25:53.
places certainly Steen drive. The term because a real shock to the | :25:53. | :26:01.
system. We might just see a bit of brightness and sunshine as the sun | :26:01. | :26:06.
goes down. The skies were clear overnight. Saturday-night is | :26:06. | :26:15.
looking particularly cold. Temperatures dropping further in | :26:15. | :26:20.
rural areas. Very cold indeed. Sunday, a nice bright start. Lots | :26:20. | :26:29.
of sunshine. Quite a decent day. The best of the sunshine towards | :26:29. | :26:33.
eastern part of Wiltshire and Somerset and Gloucestershire. | :26:33. | :26:37.
Western areas seen a bit more in a way of cloud. Good news for the | :26:37. | :26:42.
gardeners out there to stop we are going to see some rain. That is | :26:42. | :26:46.
coming on Tuesday. A bit of a cloudy day on Monday. We will see | :26:46. | :26:50.
some sunshine on Sunday. I sense a bit of disappointment over this | :26:50. | :26:54.
forecast but we must remember it is still only March. Lots more spring | :26:54. | :27:01.
We always knew it would not last forever. | :27:01. | :27:04.
Well just before we go we're saying goodbye to a member of the Points | :27:04. | :27:07.
West team tonight. Bob Lasseter has been working quietly behind the | :27:07. | :27:13.
scenes at the BBC for 44 years. He joined back in 1968 and there he is | :27:13. | :27:20.
now, in our television control room for the last time tonight. Bob has | :27:20. | :27:23.
been keeping this programme safely on the air since the days of black | :27:23. | :27:27.
and white, right through to the age of digital TV. Thank you, Bob, for | :27:27. | :27:35. |
