the oppression of one by another. The sun shall never set on so

:00:00.3:59:59

glorious Good evening and welcome to BBC

:00:00.:00:15.

Points West. Our headlines tonight: United in respect for Nelson Mandela

:00:16.:00:18.

` a vigil in Bristol tonight for a man who changed the world.

:00:19.:00:23.

The Christmas temptation of a payday loan ` but what about the financial

:00:24.:00:27.

hangover? Meet the NatWest banker jailed in

:00:28.:00:31.

the States for fraud, but now back home and unrepentant. Look, I'm not

:00:32.:00:40.

embarrassed about this. As far as I'm concerned, I didn't do anything

:00:41.:00:43.

wrong. And a film about Beckham and his

:00:44.:00:46.

friends ` we talk to the Bristol footballer who was in the same

:00:47.:00:48.

class, back in '92. Good evening. Nelson Mandela is

:00:49.:00:58.

being remembered here in the West tonight. All day, tributes have been

:00:59.:01:02.

paid, flags have been flying at half`mast and tonight in the centre

:01:03.:01:05.

of Bristol, people have gathered for a vigil. They're meeting on the same

:01:06.:01:09.

spot as 23 years ago, when he was released from prison. Sabet

:01:10.:01:20.

Choudhury is there now. In 1990, many of these people

:01:21.:01:24.

gathered here to celebrate Nelson Mandela making that long walk to

:01:25.:01:29.

Freedom. Tonight, many of them have returned, to remember the life of

:01:30.:01:34.

the great man. One who inspired so many people here to fight for change

:01:35.:01:43.

and equality. They need to look at what one man faced and endured, it

:01:44.:01:50.

was like walking through fire. No shortage of tributes today. Nelson

:01:51.:01:58.

Mandela had the massive effect on Bristol's community, prompting

:01:59.:02:02.

people to work for change. It wanted us to get involved and work to stop

:02:03.:02:13.

injustice for everyone, because Nelson Mandela has been an icon for

:02:14.:02:17.

people in Bristol and across the world in terms of fighting for

:02:18.:02:27.

justice. It only 50 years ago that black people weren't allowed to

:02:28.:02:33.

drive this Bristol's bosses. But Mandela's example gave hope to those

:02:34.:02:40.

fighting for equality. It made me wonder what the colour of my skin

:02:41.:02:47.

had to do with my rights. I realised that, as a people, we can't struggle

:02:48.:02:54.

just with violence. We have to put our case forward in a humane way and

:02:55.:02:59.

bring about change. Much has changed, and many still follow

:03:00.:03:01.

Mandela's example, pushing for greater equality. There's plenty of

:03:02.:03:10.

work to be done. We have an unequal city in many ways. It's less on

:03:11.:03:20.

colour, and more on well. We have to balance those inequalities in this

:03:21.:03:22.

great city of ours. We also need people to get involved, and care.

:03:23.:03:26.

Today, the West remembered a towering figure who fought for

:03:27.:03:30.

change and freedom. A man who lived many thousands of miles away, but

:03:31.:03:38.

touched so many close to home. Well, no doubt they will be

:03:39.:03:41.

gathering like this all over the world tonight. But what lasting

:03:42.:03:46.

legacy will Nelson Mandela leave here in the West? The man who

:03:47.:03:50.

organised the schedule and was here in 1990 is here. Why did a man

:03:51.:03:56.

struggle so many e`mails a week means so much to you here? He was an

:03:57.:04:04.

icon. He showed that you could defeat even the most evil regime if

:04:05.:04:11.

you put your mind to something. His compassion, hence resoluteness,

:04:12.:04:15.

showed what you could do, and I think for many people, the struggle

:04:16.:04:23.

against apartheid also affected people's ability to fight racism

:04:24.:04:27.

here in Britain. Also with me as a former Sheriff of Britain.

:04:28.:04:35.

Mandela's legacy has a lasting impact, but how far do we need to

:04:36.:04:40.

call? We still have a way to go, but if we embody the principles that he

:04:41.:04:44.

taught us, it's always to think about the future. Finally the future

:04:45.:04:49.

battle is about economic rights. We have civil rights, but we need to

:04:50.:04:53.

make sure that people can be on the board of companies, that we have

:04:54.:04:59.

private and public sector services, whether that is education or health

:05:00.:05:04.

and leisure. These are the key areas where we can still change and still

:05:05.:05:10.

do better. Bristol can lead the way. Thank you very much indeed. As one

:05:11.:05:14.

person said to be denied, the greatest respect of the West can pay

:05:15.:05:20.

to Nelson Mandela is to make sure that future generations remember his

:05:21.:05:21.

legacy. Thanks, Sabet. And we'll have more

:05:22.:05:25.

reaction, including from the Deputy Prime Minister in Cheltenham, a

:05:26.:05:31.

little later. More news first, though, and a Royal

:05:32.:05:34.

Marine from Taunton who was convicted of murdering a captured

:05:35.:05:37.

insurgent in Afghanistan has been sentenced to life in prison.

:05:38.:05:39.

Sergeant Alexander Blackman was first named publicly yesterday after

:05:40.:05:42.

being described as Marine A during his trial. The killing was captured

:05:43.:05:49.

on a camera mounted to the helmet of another serviceman. Sergeant

:05:50.:05:52.

Blackman has also been dismissed from the armed forces with disgrace.

:05:53.:05:58.

The jury in the trial of a Bristol mother accused of killing her baby

:05:59.:06:01.

has been directed by the judge to find her not guilty of manslaughter.

:06:02.:06:04.

3`month`old Paris Vince`Stephens died of catastrophic head injuries

:06:05.:06:07.

after being taken to the Bristol Children's Hospital in January.

:06:08.:06:12.

Teenager Danah Vince and her partner William Stephens have both denied

:06:13.:06:15.

allegations of manslaughter and causing or allowing the death of a

:06:16.:06:24.

child. The trial continues. There was a sharp warning for

:06:25.:06:27.

Christmas shoppers in Bristol today ` don't take out loans you can't

:06:28.:06:30.

afford. Charities are worried that people who are struggling to meet

:06:31.:06:34.

the cost of Christmas will turn to so`called payday lenders. And one

:06:35.:06:37.

former manager in the industry has told our business correspondent Dave

:06:38.:06:39.

Harvey that people were 'routinely' lent more than they could afford.

:06:40.:06:50.

The whole idea was, whatever someone came in to get, we were trying sell

:06:51.:06:55.

them the maximum. For six years, Andrew Smith was a manager for high

:06:56.:07:00.

street payday loan company. Today, the companies insist they are just

:07:01.:07:04.

meeting demand. But Mr Smith told me the inside story was all about

:07:05.:07:07.

pushing loans as high as possible. Why did we do that, because we

:07:08.:07:13.

needed to sell them the maximum, and the chances of them be paying it was

:07:14.:07:16.

low. Therefore, we would make money and interest. Isn't there something

:07:17.:07:24.

about making sure the person can be paid the debt? No, there was no real

:07:25.:07:28.

check on whether they could afford to repay, or whether they had

:07:29.:07:34.

another run. It was all about making sure that every person who walked in

:07:35.:07:39.

the door and we could sell money to, we did. In recent months, this

:07:40.:07:44.

industry has gone from the back streets to the political limelight.

:07:45.:07:52.

You think you're charges are extortionate? No, we don't accept

:07:53.:07:58.

that. When they came before MPs, they insisted the only lend

:07:59.:08:06.

responsibly. These are short`term loans. So maybe Andrew Smith is out

:08:07.:08:10.

of date? Perhaps the payday lenders have cleaned up their act and stop

:08:11.:08:14.

encouraging people to take out bigger loans than they can afford.

:08:15.:08:18.

Well, people who do get into trouble with this kind of lending often end

:08:19.:08:22.

up here, and the Citizen 's advice bureau. Inside, and is helping a

:08:23.:08:32.

woman with a stack of payday loans. She has asked us not to show her

:08:33.:08:37.

face. What started as a sheep under pounds has spiralled into over

:08:38.:08:42.

?1000. Each loan was taken to pay off the last. They suggested to me

:08:43.:08:46.

that I should take out a different loan with another company to pay

:08:47.:08:50.

that one back. And then, when I will be second company, I went back to

:08:51.:08:55.

the first company to get a loan from them to pay the second company.

:08:56.:09:01.

Today, staff were out in festive spirit amongst the Christmas

:09:02.:09:03.

shoppers. Their message, enjoy the fun, but the Wear of the easy money.

:09:04.:09:11.

94% of clients said no one checked if they could repay the loan. We

:09:12.:09:20.

don't believe that they are playing by their own rules and protecting

:09:21.:09:25.

people who borrow from them. In Bridgwater, Andrew Smith is working

:09:26.:09:29.

for a debt advice charity, helping victims of the interest industry he

:09:30.:09:35.

still believes are living people into debt. Some people have racked

:09:36.:09:40.

up enormous debts and a thousands and thousands of pounds. That cannot

:09:41.:09:43.

be right. Well, Russell Hamblin Boone speaks

:09:44.:09:46.

for the industry, and earlier I asked him if lenders are pushing

:09:47.:09:50.

people to take out bigger loans than they should. Now, we're not. For

:09:51.:09:57.

over a year, we have had restrictions on the number of times

:09:58.:10:01.

loans can be extended. But people need to have the option to pay off

:10:02.:10:05.

part of the loan and carry`over other parts of it to pay at a later

:10:06.:10:10.

time. We heard for someone who was desperate and went to her lender who

:10:11.:10:16.

told her to go to another lender to pay that back. There are standards

:10:17.:10:21.

in place to make sure assessments are done, and if a lender find out

:10:22.:10:27.

someone has an outstanding loan, they must make judgement. You

:10:28.:10:33.

mentioned affordability assessments, but citizens advice told us that

:10:34.:10:38.

your members are feeling to ask customers nine times out of ten if

:10:39.:10:44.

they can afford to pay that back. Our own assessment says we are doing

:10:45.:10:50.

that. It is not always obvious to someone sat in front of a computer

:10:51.:10:56.

screen, but those checks are going on behind`the`scenes with a whole

:10:57.:10:59.

range of different information, because we don't want to lend to

:11:00.:11:03.

people who can't afford to pay them back. Finally, do you accept the

:11:04.:11:07.

people coming to you are often desperate, and sometimes in very

:11:08.:11:12.

vulnerable situations? They are not reading through a lot of small

:11:13.:11:19.

print, the desperate for the money, so shouldn't your members have more

:11:20.:11:24.

responsibility? You have to have a regular and disposable income in

:11:25.:11:26.

order to have alone in first place, and the used by a whole variety of

:11:27.:11:31.

people, people who are in financial difficulty will get help from the

:11:32.:11:38.

lender, and we won't be encouraging people to take out short`term loans

:11:39.:11:41.

that will lead to long`term debt. Many thanks indeed for joining us.

:11:42.:11:46.

An amateur footballer has been jailed for six months for causing a

:11:47.:11:50.

crash on the M5 in Somerset that killed his friend and seriously

:11:51.:11:53.

injured another man. 25`year`old Tom Pilling had already pleaded guilty

:11:54.:11:56.

to causing death by careless driving and driving without insurance. He

:11:57.:11:59.

was also disqualified from driving for two years at Taunton Crown

:12:00.:12:08.

Court. One of the bankers known as the

:12:09.:12:11.

NatWest Three, who were jailed in America for their part in the Enron

:12:12.:12:15.

financial scandal, is tonight back behind bars in Gloucestershire.

:12:16.:12:17.

Giles Darby's serving drinks this time, though, rebuilding his life as

:12:18.:12:20.

a pub entrepreneur. In his first ever TV interview, he told Scott

:12:21.:12:24.

Ellis why he feels like a pantomime villain, why Leyhill Prison was a

:12:25.:12:28.

low point, and why his bar is cash only. I'm not embarrassed about

:12:29.:12:37.

anything that has happened to me. As far as I'm concerned, I didn't do

:12:38.:12:38.

anything wrong. Giles Darby ` one of the NatWest

:12:39.:12:43.

Three. In the US in 2007, they were jailed for conspiring with former

:12:44.:12:45.

Enron staff to defraud NatWest, pocketing millions. I change of

:12:46.:12:56.

plea, they have fully accepted responsibility of the significant

:12:57.:12:59.

lapse in judgement that led to the filing of these charges. Giles Darby

:13:00.:13:03.

says they pleaded guilty in the US to get shorter jail terms, and

:13:04.:13:06.

overall were victims caught up in the much larger Enron scandal.

:13:07.:13:14.

George Bush just wanted to run a mile from any connection with Enron,

:13:15.:13:19.

and set a task force in motion to put many `` as many people in prison

:13:20.:13:27.

as possible. We were some of them. I didn't do anything knowingly

:13:28.:13:31.

illegal. For years in the UK, the trio had fought extradition to the

:13:32.:13:34.

US, winning support against a treaty drawn up to counter terrorism. We

:13:35.:13:43.

were unfortunate victims of an unfair treaty. At the time, the head

:13:44.:13:46.

of the Serious Fraud Office said they would have been extradited

:13:47.:13:49.

under the old act. Ultimately, Giles Darby served 18 months in US jails

:13:50.:13:56.

and at Leyhill. I'm not going to say I regret anything, because I don't.

:13:57.:14:01.

But, would I do something differently? I would at that point

:14:02.:14:06.

cooperate with the FBI early on, which would not have led to the

:14:07.:14:08.

years and years of stress afterwards. Ironically perhaps, if

:14:09.:14:16.

you pop in here for a pint, it is cash only. He does not do credit. I

:14:17.:14:21.

simply refuse to pay the bank charges for having a credit card

:14:22.:14:25.

machine. I think they are outrageous. I'm not prepared to pay

:14:26.:14:27.

them. He has gone from being a highly

:14:28.:14:33.

flying banker to being a publican. Next, he hopes to set up a chain of

:14:34.:14:42.

pubs. Sport now, and Alistair Durden's

:14:43.:14:45.

here. Ali ` tributes to Nelson Mandela from the sporting world too?

:14:46.:14:49.

Yes, and that will continue over the weekend with all Football League

:14:50.:14:52.

matches holding a minute's applause before kick`off. There is, of

:14:53.:14:59.

course, a strong South African influence in our local rugby sides,

:15:00.:15:02.

not least Bath's Director of Rugby Gary Gold. He met Nelson Mandela on

:15:03.:15:06.

a couple of occasions when he was assistant coach of the Springboks.

:15:07.:15:11.

He grew up under apartheid and remembers the impact Mandela's

:15:12.:15:13.

release from prison had on the country as a whole.

:15:14.:15:24.

There was an incredible period in our time, and obviously, the fairy

:15:25.:15:31.

tale continued with the 1995 Rugby World Cup, where he was instrumental

:15:32.:15:35.

in bringing the nation together. Just an incredible human being, and

:15:36.:15:39.

one that I don't think we understand the magnitude of. We want and tell

:15:40.:15:45.

years to come, when the true value of the mandible, out. `` value of

:15:46.:15:55.

their man will come out. Gary takes his Bath side to Italy

:15:56.:15:59.

this weekend as they play Mogliano in the European Challenge Cup. In

:16:00.:16:02.

the Heineken Cup, Gloucester face a trip to Edinburgh on Sunday. Bristol

:16:03.:16:05.

also face Scottish opposition on the same day as they host Gala in the

:16:06.:16:09.

British and Irish Cup. In football, Bristol Academy manager

:16:10.:16:12.

Mark Sampson has been appointed head coach of the England women's team on

:16:13.:16:15.

a four`year contract. Mark had been at the club for five years, leading

:16:16.:16:19.

them to two FA Cup finals and Champions League qualification. This

:16:20.:16:22.

season, they came second in the Women's Super League, their

:16:23.:16:24.

highest`ever placed finish. Swindon Town's new owner and

:16:25.:16:27.

chairman says he's in it for the long`haul, and wants to deliver top

:16:28.:16:30.

flight football. 41`year`old Lee Power is the club's third chairman

:16:31.:16:33.

this calendar year, having taken control earlier this week. He's now

:16:34.:16:38.

the sole investor at the League One club. But who is Lee Power, and what

:16:39.:16:43.

is he promising for Swindon fans? No scarf being held up in the stand

:16:44.:16:48.

today ` Lee Power says he wants to be a low profile chairman. He's a

:16:49.:16:52.

former player ` his clubs included Norwich Bradford. Since retiring,

:16:53.:16:55.

he's been a businessman and a football agent. Something he

:16:56.:17:04.

believes gives him an advantage. Football is a bit of the jungle. I

:17:05.:17:09.

think I navigate it quite well, and have a lot of friends and contacts.

:17:10.:17:15.

I'm well versed in football and now every eventuality. I think that's

:17:16.:17:18.

what stands me in good stead and gives me an edge over the others. So

:17:19.:17:22.

you shouldn't be ripped off by agents? I think I need `` when they

:17:23.:17:30.

turn up here, they will understand that! That's the benefit that I

:17:31.:17:33.

have, that experience. Power was brought to the club in April by

:17:34.:17:37.

former chairman Jed McCrory. He says he's invested over ?1 million since,

:17:38.:17:40.

now buying out other shareholders to take control. That prompted McCrory

:17:41.:17:44.

to step down this week. He'd bought the club for ?1 in January, saving

:17:45.:17:49.

it from administration. It leaves just two people on the club's board

:17:50.:17:52.

` Chairman Lee Power and director Sangita Shah who has been overseeing

:17:53.:17:57.

the club's finances. A third director will be appointed but they

:17:58.:18:02.

won't be investing. Lee Power has reassured fans he he's here for the

:18:03.:18:06.

long`term, and believes the club can challenge for promotion and be run

:18:07.:18:14.

as a profit`making business. There have been a lot better business

:18:15.:18:21.

people coming into football, and I'm confident in my ability. I want to

:18:22.:18:28.

get the team to the championship, and then it will make money. That's

:18:29.:18:33.

why I'm here, and the only way that I can achieve success is on that

:18:34.:18:36.

green pitch out there. He's a Swiss resident so can only spend 90 days

:18:37.:18:41.

in England a year. But he says this will be his main focus and he tries

:18:42.:18:44.

to give the club some much`needed stability.

:18:45.:18:48.

You can see more of that interview on our Facebook page and the BBC

:18:49.:18:51.

Sport Website. Swindon Town aren't in action this weekend, having been

:18:52.:18:55.

beaten in the last round of the FA Cup. But it's the first game for

:18:56.:18:59.

Bristol City's new manager Steve Cotterill on Sunday. City take on

:19:00.:19:01.

non`League side Tamworth, hoping to make it into the draw for the third

:19:02.:19:05.

round, where the Premier league sides enter the competition. Bristol

:19:06.:19:08.

Rovers will be hoping for the same as they host Crawley at the Memorial

:19:09.:19:11.

Stadium tomorrow. In the Championship, Yeovil Town are

:19:12.:19:14.

looking for their third win in a row, as Charlton are the visitors to

:19:15.:19:18.

Huish Park. In League Two, Cheltenham travel to Morecambe.

:19:19.:19:24.

Well, stay with us Ali, as our next guest played a part in a real`life

:19:25.:19:27.

footballing fairy tale that's now been made into a film. Some of

:19:28.:19:30.

Manchester United's youth team of 1992 have gone onto to some pretty

:19:31.:19:34.

big things ` we're talking about the likes of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs

:19:35.:19:37.

and the Neville brothers, to name a few. And alongside them two decades

:19:38.:19:41.

ago was Bristol's Raphael Burke, and they've been reunited for the film.

:19:42.:19:50.

Thanks for joining us. First of all, let's take a look of some of the

:19:51.:19:53.

pictures when you were in the Class of 92. It must have been quite a

:19:54.:19:59.

class. What was it like playing with them? At the time, you don't realise

:20:00.:20:07.

what opportunity you have, but in that team, there are four national

:20:08.:20:13.

captains, 4000 Premier league appearances, and they are just a

:20:14.:20:18.

fantastic team so I always say to people it's been a privilege to be

:20:19.:20:26.

part of that. I was 18. You have seen a lot of those guys go on to

:20:27.:20:29.

amazing careers. Do you have any regrets? People have asked me that,

:20:30.:20:36.

but I never have regrets. I just think that you need to do is brush

:20:37.:20:41.

yourself off, start again, and that's why I have gone into

:20:42.:20:46.

coaching, to put right what didn't happen then. I have been coaching

:20:47.:20:49.

for 12 years, and that he's been brilliant to work with the young

:20:50.:20:55.

players. I want to ask you about the film. I'm a frustrated actors at

:20:56.:21:03.

heart! What was like being part a major film? It was fantastic. It has

:21:04.:21:09.

been a whirlwind. If I'm honest, the best part for me was getting on the

:21:10.:21:14.

pitch again with those players. To play with David Beckham again, Ryan

:21:15.:21:19.

Giggs, Paul Scholes, it was just brilliant. The fun we had on the day

:21:20.:21:28.

was fantastic. Widely why did not think you made it like they did? I

:21:29.:21:35.

think, if you're talented, which people say that I was, you really

:21:36.:21:40.

need to apply yourself. I was a teenager, I didn't understand that,

:21:41.:21:44.

with the young players I work with, I just want to say that I say this

:21:45.:21:52.

to them, talent plus hard work equals good results. Talent by

:21:53.:22:00.

itself produces nothing. I told the young players but no matter how

:22:01.:22:03.

skilful they are, they have to apply themselves. Train hard, and keep

:22:04.:22:08.

pushing yourself. That's what I try to say to the young players. That is

:22:09.:22:14.

very inspirational. And even if you have about 5% talent, you think you

:22:15.:22:19.

can make it? I think so, because if you apply yourself, you will make

:22:20.:22:28.

it. Hope for us all yet! Now let's go back to the big story

:22:29.:22:32.

here in the West and around the world tonight ` the tributes and

:22:33.:22:35.

legacy left by Nelson Mandela. Well, it was on the mind of the Deputy

:22:36.:22:39.

Prime Minister when he toured Cheltenham and Bristol today. Nick

:22:40.:22:42.

Clegg talked of how the former ANC leader had inspired him ` and he met

:22:43.:22:46.

a new generation moved by Mandela. Paul Barltrop reports.

:22:47.:22:49.

It was not politics as usual today. The visit of the Deputy Prime

:22:50.:22:52.

Minister to two vital Lib Dem`held constituencies felt a little muted.

:22:53.:22:55.

Instead of scoring points against political foes, Nick Clegg joined

:22:56.:22:57.

cross`party praise for the departed statesman. Obviously, he had a huge

:22:58.:23:08.

impression on everyone, but global leaders in British politics today,

:23:09.:23:14.

all of us were youngsters and teenagers at the time when Nelson

:23:15.:23:20.

Mandela was exercising such a huge positive influence not only in his

:23:21.:23:23.

own country, but across the world. Even as the visitor answered

:23:24.:23:26.

questions from pupils at this Cheltenham school, the man who

:23:27.:23:29.

united black and white looked on. On Monday, MPs will gather at

:23:30.:23:32.

Parliament to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela. What do you know about

:23:33.:23:38.

Mandela? Today, though, at Balcarras and countless other schools,

:23:39.:23:41.

teachers held special sessions with pupils. Mandela said, no, we have to

:23:42.:23:48.

have one South Africa. We cannot have two. When these sixth formers

:23:49.:23:51.

were born, Nelson Mandela was already South Africa's President.

:23:52.:23:56.

But they all know something of the decades of struggle that went

:23:57.:24:01.

before. This morning, my dad woke me up by saying, we have had some sad

:24:02.:24:09.

news. My mum goes to South Africa quite a bit, so it was big news.

:24:10.:24:15.

It's such a topic that all generation knows about it. It is

:24:16.:24:21.

hard to take for granted, when he fought for his whole lifetime. The

:24:22.:24:27.

world will not be the same because of this. Nick Clegg left for his

:24:28.:24:32.

next visit. The flag at half`mast remainder that politics has lost one

:24:33.:24:40.

of its greatest. Let's take a look at the weather.

:24:41.:24:48.

It is fairly chilly, it has to be said, but more will characterise the

:24:49.:24:53.

weather as we go through the weekend, will be a less cold story.

:24:54.:24:58.

I think they will be nuanced differences, when you talk about it

:24:59.:25:03.

being mild or less cold, but temperatures will certainly be on

:25:04.:25:09.

the rise. The part, a good deal of dry weather through the weekend, but

:25:10.:25:12.

that said, there will be some shares in western parts. Equally, it will

:25:13.:25:19.

be a competition of cloud cover and some sunshine, with the best of the

:25:20.:25:22.

sunshine on Sunday afternoon. Winds later on Saturday. Without somebody

:25:23.:25:28.

in mind, it's worth noting if I run this sequence right through, the one

:25:29.:25:33.

common thread through to next week is this bit of pressure to the

:25:34.:25:38.

south`east. The pressure will always be from a southerly quarter, which

:25:39.:25:41.

means that it will not be desperately cold. We will see

:25:42.:25:44.

chillier pictures, but not desperately cold. It looks like

:25:45.:25:53.

it'll at least next weekend and in the run`up of Christmas, we will be

:25:54.:25:57.

stuck in a similar pattern. No snow for the foreseeable future. Tonight,

:25:58.:26:06.

when a two lecturers around, particularly across western areas,

:26:07.:26:09.

and then clear skies around with". As we get through towards daybreak,

:26:10.:26:16.

temperatures between two and four Celsius for the majority of us.

:26:17.:26:20.

Tomorrow, we will need to cater for some showers of the Bristol Channel,

:26:21.:26:26.

and a availability in the flow as we go through the afternoon. Sharers

:26:27.:26:31.

initially through the central part of Somerset will become much of

:26:32.:26:40.

wider at the Northern areas. A filament of cloud around with some

:26:41.:26:44.

brighter spells in temperatures by the latter stages of mid`afternoon

:26:45.:26:48.

should be up to in about eight or 10 Celsius. So op on today.

:26:49.:26:53.

Temperatures may be higher still on Sunday. As we look beyond that into

:26:54.:26:59.

the start of next week, expect some fog on Sunday night into Monday, and

:27:00.:27:05.

will remain for a few days, but temperatures fairly healthy for the

:27:06.:27:07.

time of year. Thank you very much indeed. And just before we leave you

:27:08.:27:11.

` time to open our sixth window on our advent calendar. And tonight's

:27:12.:27:14.

picture has been sent by John Hesledon and it's taken in

:27:15.:27:22.

Marlborough in Wiltshire. Thank you. I'm not sure if any of that white

:27:23.:27:26.

stuff is on the way this weekend. Let's hope not! I'm sure the shops

:27:27.:27:32.

are going to be delightful this weekend! Be with you over the

:27:33.:27:40.

weekend. Sunday Politics is also on this weekend, the last in the

:27:41.:27:43.

series. Have a lovely weekend. Goodbye.
