England's road to recovery. There is more throughout the evening on the

BBC News Channel. We're back Good evening. A teenager has died in

a crash in Gloucestershire today. The main road between Charfield and

Wotton`under`Edge was closed off after the collision which happened

at 1.30pm. A Toyota Roadster and a Nissan van were involved. The

18`year`old man who was driving the Nissan died at the scene. There were

also several crashes on the M5 through our region today. Seven

vehicles collided on the M5 northbound near Tewkesbury just

after 11am. Shortly after, a car and motorbike collided. Drivers faced

delays of more than three hours while investigations took place

More than 30 firefighters have spent the night tackling a house fire in

Hartpury near Gloucester. The fire which started at about 2.30am spread

to the semidetached property next door. One woman escaped by jumping

from an upper window. She was treated in hospital for smoke

inhalation. Strong winds and heavy rain over the

festive period have blown part of the roof off a school in Bath. The

sixth`form building and boarding block at Beechen Cliff School were

badly affected by the stormy weather. The extent of the damage is

still being assessed. But despite fears of more flooding overnight, it

appears many places have escaped the worst of the weather and the clean

heavy rain. The drains blocked in Blakeney and her home flooded. It

trickle became a flood. It could now take three days to dry out and

In football, Steve Cotterill won his first league game in charge of

Bristol City to lift them off the bottom of League One. Meanwhile

Yeovil Town lost 3`0 at Bournemouth, leaving them firmly in the

Championship relegation zone. Here's Zoe Gough.

Gary Johnson was forced to apologise to the travelling Yeovil fans after

watching his side go down 3`0 to Bournemouth. The result leaves them

three points from safety. Bristol City vacated bottom spot in League

One with Sam Baldock's penalty being enough to beat Walsall and please

the new manager. They are a good team and I think Dean has done a

fantastic job. We knew the second half would be tough if we had not

looks like we will see one or two hefty showers but sunny intervals

Good evening. What a week it has been, a stormy start, a law through

Christmas, then a wild end to the week, had to keep up, isn't it? This

was a vicious area of low pressure last night, but today the winds have

been strongest across northern areas, where it is still blowing a

gale. That will gradually subside as we go through the night, although a

windy night across Scotland with frequent, heavy showers. A few

showers whistling in elsewhere, but a lot of dry weather, and

temperatures will ease down first thing tomorrow morning. Tomorrow, a

different sort of day, not as windy thankfully, although still
