Good evening. A well known live music venue in Bath has been

severely damaged by fire. Crews were called to Moles nightclub and

recording studios on George Street around nine this morning. At one

stage its thought members of a band were still inside the venue. Here's

Zoe Gough. Moles has hosted live music for the

last 35 years. The Eurythmics, Blur and the Smiths have all plaxed here.

But this morning the old venue was battered by fire. When you see black

smoke coming out like that, and behind the Windows as well, the heat

must be pretty bad. The building also houses a recording studio. And

there were fears a band was using it at the time. When the responsible

person arrived on scene he hnformed us that the band were performing at

the time and he was not abld to locate them. As it turned ott they

have now been safely located. News of the fire spread via soci`l

networking sites. With many people showing concern for the vente. It is

a very special place for me. Hopefully there is not too luch

damage. The electrical supply is being looked at as one posshble

cause of the fire. While thd ground floor took the brunt of the damage,

Moles is still expected to be closed for some time.

Residents in Swindon who fe`r nearby excavation work has damaged their

homes and businesses have mdt with developers to voice their concerns.

Construction work started on a 50 million retail and leisure complex

at Regent Circus last April. But cracks have been appearing hn

buildings close to the development. The problem is so severe a chapel

has been forced to close. A public meeting was held last night. The

biggest problems are cracking in parts of the work, vibrations. At

movement. They were not there before. And this is raising massive

concerns. The developers ISG say any damage caused by their work will be

put right. Still around 15 minutes to go in

Most of us have enjoyed a fine and dry start to the weekend. But all of

us had the sunshine and a range of cloud conditions across the UK.

There was a lot of cloud across Northern Ireland and Scotland to

start the day. Some of it has remained through parts of the

Midlands and northern England, so just hazy sunshine here.

Temperatures in Glasgow are normal for the time of year. The winds are

very just the for the Six Nations match. -- they are very dusty. Some

patchy drizzle to the west of Wales. For the rest of England and Wales,

mainly clear skies, but a patchy fog towards the south-west later

overnight. Temperatures hold up above frost level in the breeze but

it will still feel fairly chilly. Tomorrow, the cloud stays with us in
