Good evening. Residents of Luchelney on the Somerset Levels held their

final flood lunch today. Evdry Sunday since the village has been

cut off, 50 people have gathered for a weekly meal. Now, the roads are

open and life is slowly rettrning to normal. Muchelney Church, place of

worship, village hall and communal dining room. The first week we were

flooded we had the need to be together and we have always been a

community minded village. They have held what they called a flood lunch

here every Sunday since the village was cut off. People bringing and

sharing what they can. My contribution was a lemon drhzzle

cake. Moist, sour, lovely, thank you very much. Not the ideal wax to meet

neighbours, but it has been positive in that sense. Another positive is

that this flooded house is beginning to dry out. The McDonaghs only moved

in in November. The Christm`s cards a poignant reminder of their first

happy days. We have been out of the house longer than we were in it The

worst does seem to be over. By this time last week it was still cut off

but what a difference the wdek makes. Three out of four ro`ds can

be used by cars and it is only this last one you have to pass whth care.

That is using a 4x4 vehicle. Thoughts now are turning to the

future. Dredging of the Rivdr Tone and Parrett should start anx day.

Which people here hope will save the village from another winter of

discontent. The Kennet and @von Canal remains partially closed in

Bath after a narrow boat capsized in a lock at Widcombe. It happdned

yesterday afternoon and, although no one was hurt, the stretch whll stay

shut until a crane can lift it out in two days' time. The Paralympic

gold medallist Richard Whitdhead says he is disappointed mord is not

being done here to support xoung people in sport. Richard, who is

president of the North Somerset Athletics Club, was in

Weston`super`Mare at the st`rt of a 24`hour fundraising relay around the

pier. Springing into action in the spring sunshine. Members of North

Somerset Athletics Club running for 24 hours to raise money to build

their own training facility. At the moment there is no dedicated

facilities and we have to trade in school playing fields, sports halls,

and we are a club with 650 lembers and nowhere to train properly. They

have the backing of Paralympian gold medal sprinter Richard Whitdhead. It

is disappointing the county does not have a training facility for the

young people to continue thdir dreams in athletics. For me, it is

important facilities are av`ilable and hopefully, after 2012, there is

more positive thinking to provide such services. The pier provided the

training ground for the last 24 hours with some runners doing a full

marathon. I did this shift from 9pm on Saturday and I am staying until

12 today. We ran a marathon, me and my team`mates. A couple of weeks, I

thought it would be easy, btt I realise now it is quite hard. Hard

work but worth it. They need to raise 100,000 and today werd off to

a very good start. It's been another warm and sunny

day. Next week is not looking quite so good. Here's Holly Green with the

forecast. We have seen beautiful blue skies

but the cloud is thickening up and that process will continue tonight.

The cloud is streaming in from the west. It is low and we could see

mist and fog, maybe drizzle here and there. It will be a mild picture.

Tomorrow, it starts on a grdy note. We will see brightness breaking

through, but more limited than today and around the coast, we cotld keep

a lot of cloud and perhaps drizzle. In any sunshine it will feel

reasonably warm. Towards thd middle of the week, it is looking cloudy

and breezy but Thursday could bring rain and perhaps gales.

sunshine around, particularly in the south-east. Highs of 20 Celsius in

of an issue and we will see some rain around as well. Not quite as

warm as in recent days. In fact we start off Monday on a pretty

overcast note across the country. There'll be rain as well in
