now on Good evening. A woman who w`s the

innocent victim of a shooting in her 20s has been found guilty of

harassing a victim who left `` a builder who left her home in an

unliveable condition. Donna Small was shot ten years ago during a

night out. She was left with a bullet in her brain. She fotght for

compensation, which she spent on building work ` but when shd tried

to get that money back, a m`gistrate ruled that she and her mothdr went

too far. Steve Brodie reports. She wasn't expected to live. There

are fragments of machine gun bullets inside her brain. This was Donna

Small in August 2006. Two ydars before, her life had changed for

ever. She and her friend Asha Jamma were on a night out in Bristol. But

the car they were in was riddled with bullets. Asha lost the sight in

one eye, Donna was left dis`bled. It's changed everything. I have to

do loads of exercises every morning when I get up. I can't do things on

my own. I'm scared to go outside the house. I can't sleep at night. It

took eight long years for Donna Small to win compensation for being

after being shot down in thd street ` an incident which left her

disabled. She invested her `ward in this bungalow and hired builder

Darren Finnear to carry out the renovation. Solicitors acting for

Donna handed over nearly ?70,00 but when his contract was eventtally

terminated the house was uninhabitable. Alan Wright hs a

chartered surveyor and an independent building expert. The

UPVC subframe has been smashed completely. There are wires hanging

down everywhere. Very subst`ndard. Bare wires. The state of thd site

itself is... Is diabolical. The debris, the loose wires. Thdre's no

regard for health and safetx whatsoever. We asked Mr Finnear for

an interview but he declined. Today magistrates were told the house was

in a worse condition than it had been before the work began. Donna

and her mother Jacqui Probert pursued the builder for thehr money.

They sent him a series of angry and abusive texts, and Donna threw a

small bottle of after shave at him. Bristol magistrates found Donna

guilty of harassment and assault. She was handed a conditional

discharge. Her mother was found guilty of harassment and was given a

community order for one year. The ten`year ordeal has left its toll on

Donna. It's just been awful. I think it's disgusting. I just feel so let

down. There's been a lot of tears, ups and downs. Today the magistrates

described the background to the case as distressing, but said thd course

taken by the women was wrong. An investigation's begun into

allegations that Jimmy Savile may have carried out abuse at a

children's home in Gloucestdrshire. Parklands Home at Whitminstdr closed

in 2002. It's one of more than 0 mentioned in claims against the

disgraced presenter as the result of an anonymous letter. Gloucestershire

County Council says it'll bd carrying out a full investigation

into the allegations. The family of the murdered Somerset

woman Catherine Wells`Burr have handed in a petition at Downing

Street today. It's in opposhtion to the deportation of two of hdr

killers, who've asked to serve the remainder of their jail terl in

their native Poland. Her falily fear the killers' sentences could be cut

if they leave the UK. Ireland's National Trust is

challenging the new nuclear power station planned for Hinkley Point.

It claims people in Ireland could be affected by the plant, which is 150

miles away from them, and bdlieves they should have been consulted The

government here says it carried out all the necessary investigations for

the ?16 billion project. The keys to the West's first

super`hospital at Southmead in Bristol have been handed ovdr. Not

everyone's happy with the ?430 million scheme, which will see a

downgrading of Frenchay Hospital and mean longer journey times for some

patients. But many have welcomed the changes and say the old second world

war buildings at Frenchay ` which were intended to be temporary ` are

now out of date. Will Glennon has been to Southmead to see thd new

facilities. A mix of steel, concrete and glass

which, combined with doctors and nurses and the latest technology,

promises world class patient care. If you've had a stroke or hdart

attack or been in a car acchdent, this is where the hospital staff

will try and save your life. Juliette Hughes helped design this

area. It's where she'll be working ` and they've tried to get evdrything

in the right place. We went to lots of hospitals and we took all the

best things from other placds and learned some lessons from other

areas. And when we look at how this is now finishing, it's really pretty

impressive. Up on the wards, the rooms are ready for patients. This

is one of our individual side rooms, which is great. I mean, the space in

here is fantastic. 600 of the 8 0 beds will be in private rools with

private facilities. Privacy and dignity are very important for

patients. They need to know that they can have a conversation with

nurses or doctors, or any therapists, which is out of earshot

of people who don't really need to hear it. Also, any examinathon

patients may need can be done in the privacy of this room. It's just so

much better for patients. And while wards are on one side of thd

hospital, all the operations will take place on the other. Thhs is one

of 24 operating theatres in this new hospital. It will be equippdd with

the latest new technology ` scanning, lasers and, of cotrse

X`rays. It will help both strgeons and patients. Having everything in

one place should make surgeons' jobs easier and could even cut the number

of operations. There are sthll some finishing touches being put to the

building but it's on time and on budget. The first patients `re due

through the doors in May. And as that opening day gets nearer

we'll keep you updated on everything you need to know. We're back

day on offer for Friday. Yes, some of those showers will be he`vy in

places but equally there will be some drier, brighter spells as well.

A milder day than today. In some places, three or four degreds up on

today's values. Temperatures tonight instead will be down to abott three

to four Celsius so a fairly chilly affair and that's how things will

start tomorrow with already some showers in abundance. Some of

those, through the course of tomorrow, could be giving some

torrential downpours. Maybe a threat of lightning as well. It is worth

emphasising either side of those, with uncertain distribution, there

will be some drier, sunnier spells. And in those, temperatures will be,

like I said, quite a bit up on today's values. So a bit of mixed

fortunes on the temperature chart. Maybe as low as eight and nhne but

in other places, we could bd getting higher than you're seeing there up

to maybe 12 or 13 Celsius or so The temperatures will definitelx rise

during the course of the wedkend ` easily up to 15, 16, 17 Celsius with

some hazy sunshine around. @nd it will continue to be a case of warm

weather into the start of Hello, as winter becomes spring the

atmosphere contains more energy The shower clouds grow taller. If

conditions are right, you get thunder storms. There have been some
