tourism industry are implorhng holiday makers to consider their

county open for business as usual. Visitor attractions are relxing on

the Easter Holidays to bring in millions of pounds this year. But

there's real concern that ilages of recent flooding have discouraged

tourists. Here's Catherine Powell. The sunshine certainly helpdd draw

in the holiday makers today. From Birmingham, and coming here for

years with my family. I just come as normal.

My mum and dad have come to visit from Yorkshire. I live in Bristol.

Just come to look at the caves and have a good day out.

I used to come to the caves when I was a child, and I always enjoyed

it. But over the past few months these are the images of Somdrset

that have made the headlines. Devastating for those affected. Now

tourism officials say these images are still keeping holiday m`kers

away. Obviously there was only 3% of the

county that was ever underw`ter it's reckoned that bookings for the

summer are down around 20%. That's a lot of bookings and a lot of money

which we hope we can get back. The tourism industry is said to be

worth around a billion pounds a year to Somerset, and this should be one

its busiest weeks, but many attractions say their Easter

bookings are way down. The perception has been that

Somerset is underwater, and it's putting people off coming. One

particular example was a colpany from India looking to bring visitors

over to Somerset they were put off because in the media over their they

are saying that Somerset is flooded, when we are very much open for

business. They're hoping a better summer will help Somerset on its way

to recovery. Police in Bath are still trxing to

trace the family of a man who drowned in the River Avon. The

42`year`old fell into the rhver near Norfolk Crescent late on Frhday

night. He was pulled out by police officers, but they couldn't revive

him. He's the fifth person to drown in the area in recent years.

Protesters fighting plans for biomass power plants at Avonmouth

near Bristol say their action this weekend was just the beginnhng.

Around 100 cyclists gathered to show their opposition ` they're concerned

about air quality and sustainability, and they believe use

of palm oil in one plant wotld be ecologically damaging. But those

behind the projects say thex'll provide renewable low carbon

electricity, reduce carbon dmissions and create hundreds of new jobs

It looks as though the celebrated street artist Banksy may have left

his mark on the wall of a property in Cheltenham today. The new images,

which surround a phone box hn Hewlett Road, show three secret

agents eavesdropping on teldphone calls. Cheltenham is, of cotrse

home to the government's communication headquarters, GCHQ. It

was a pleasant surprise for those living in the building.

I heard voices out here, but I didn't bother looking out or

anything until I heard my neighbour, and then as I looked

out, I saw him putting scredns away in the back of a van, but that was

it, that's all I knew. It's really good.

Do you mind it being on the side of your house?

Not at all. If this is real, your house could be

worth a fortune. That would be nice!

I got a phone call from a friends to say, look outside your housd. It was

quite a shock. You studied art and design, do you

think it is a Banksy? I think it is. We studied a lot of

Banksy, so I reckon it is, xes. If you enjoyed today's sunshine

we are looking at more warm sunshine, it will be cool overnight,
