Good evening. A service has been held in Somerset

tonight for the four sailors who've been missing in the Atlantic Ocean

since Friday. Members of thd congregation in West Camel, where

Paul Goslin and Stephen Warren are well known, have joined calls for

the US coastguard to resume the search. But US coastguards have said

there is no point as two daxs of extensive searching found nothing. I

feel it's very important for the family to feel the support of the

community and also the praydr. Hope has not been given up yet and there

are a lot of people signing the petition, hopefully to encotrage the

authorities to continue to search. More than 80,000 people havd now

signed an online petition c`lling for the search to resume. Even the

local MP David Heath is calling on US authorities to do more. One man

who knows what it's like to be stranded at sea is the Bristol

yachtsman Tony Bullimore. You survived for six days in the

ocean after capsizing. Do you hold the same hope for these sailors I

would like to believe that they are in the life raft. I would lhke to

believe that they got themsdlves together and that this search and

rescue aircraft will reconshder the situation and get out there as

quickly as possible. Are yot surprised the US Coastguard has

called off the search after 53 hours? I was looking intenshvely,

and I thought they would be gone for another 24 hours before the

considered pulling out. It was a bit of a shock. With the ticking clock,

do you not think precious thme has been wasted? Yes. Time has been

wasted but that doesn't mean they're not there now. If they are `nd the

life raft, and have supplies, they have been in bad conditions before.

If they know what they're doing they could still be there need someone to

rescue them. How dangerous hs it? It can become an beautiful but when you

go north, you can get sudden low pressures that come off of Canada

and they can be horrendous. At the same time, if you know what you re

doing, you've got a chance. 80, 00 signatures now. Do you think the

The death of a man whose body was found at a house in Bristol is being

treated as unexplained by police. Officers were called to Welsford

Avenue in Stapleton yesterd`y afternoon. The 49`year`old, who has

not been named, is believed to have been the victim of an assault. The

property may also have been burgled. Avon and Somerset Police want to

trace four men wearing hooddd tops who were seen in the area dtring the

early hours of Wednesday morning. It's been an emotional 24 hours for

staff saying goodbye to Frenchay Hospital. After 50 years, the A E

department closed its doors for the final time. Then, emergency

equipment was packed and moved to the new Southmead Hospital.

It's 1:00am and this will bd the very last ambulance to ever arrive

here at Frenchay's A Inshde is 17`year`old Adam, who has jtst come

off his motorbike. This young man is the last person to be taken in. It's

really sad. We've been coming for years and years and have fond

memories. Let's wheel you in and get one of the doctors to have ` look at

you. First inspection suggest a damaged leg and hand. We've got very

few patients left now. AMBULANCE SIREN SOUNDS

Our ambulances are saying goodbye to us. That's what that noise hs. We're

not taking any more ambulances now. And as the wards empty, the focus

now turns to packing. But others just need some space. This hs really

it. It's just after 2:00am. All the words are empty. Normally there

would be about 65 patients but there is just one left. The priorhty board

is completely empty and, as you can see, they are just rubbing off the

staff list. Meanwhile, just a few miles away in another corner of

Bristol, it's all just about to begin. It's four hours sincd we last

met this crew. We were the last ambulance at Frenchay and wd're the

first here. Rather pleased `bout all this. And he's not the only one The

staff can't wait to show off their new home. No longer do we jtst have

curtains separating patients. We have proper walls and just ` curtain

at the front to keep an eye on everyone. Everything is kitted out

exactly as we wanted it. I think it will be a lovely place to bd looked

after. And with 800 beds, 24 operating theatres, and a hdlipad,

health care here in Bristol has now well and truly been brought into the

21st Century. That's it from me. Before I leave

in Somerset. Western Power says it could be the reason why arotnd 00

homes temporarily lost electricity this evening. To fix the problem,

they had to cut the supply to 100,000 properties. Well, to get a

Let me show you on the radar how things have developed this `rea of

thunder. It was at its most active in North Somerset. A lot of the

lightning has stopped but it continues to trundle North. Further

showers are likely tonight, but temperatures are mild at 12 to 4

Celsius. Tomorrow, there will be showers, possibly thundery, but

gradually we will find improvements starting to push in from thd south

as drier weather takes hold. Chappers might fade entirelx, with

the exception of one or two Western districts `` showers. Temperatures

will be down on what we saw today, maybe 18 Celsius, but it will still

feel pleasantly warm but strong sunshine. Through this week, it is a

similar pattern, sunny spells but equally showers and possibld

Thunderstorms are rumbling on as they push their way northwards. We

will start dragging some mist and low cloud. More of those thundery

downpours to content with tomorrow. Our main area of concern is through

the south-west. A lot of rain falling in a short space of time

with potentially gusty winds. The showers will drift their way

northwards as the day goes on. We keep a lot of the mist and low
