Hello, good evening from Pohnts West. Prayers will be said this

weekend for two West Countrx sailors feared lost in the Atlantic. Paul

Goslin and Stephen Warren from Somerset were among the crew of the

Cheeky Rafiki. The vessel w`s found with its life raft unused. Their

families said today they were "shocked and deeply saddened".

The discovery of the Cheeky Rafiki initially gave hope to the families,

but once the US Navy discovdred the yacht's life raft still in place and

no sign of the crew hope turned to despair. It's not the ending we

would want but we have to g`in some consolation that Steve was doing

what he thoroughly enjoyed doing, and we have to cling onto that.

After being in the public exe for so long, today the families of the

yachtsmen asked for privacy. In a statement, Stephen Warren's sister

said they were sad the search had been suspended but the US Coast

Guard had done an exception`l job. Here in West Camel, where P`ul

Goslin still lived, his loss will be keenly felt. In the local church, a

prayer station set up last week will have greater focus now. I think we

are all absolutely devastatdd. Also aware of the immense support with

everybody signing the petithon. The hopes and prayers of so manx people

out there. For that, I think everybody is very grateful. Tony

Bullimore, who was rescued from his upturned yacht after five d`ys in

1997, told me the yachting world will be in mourning today. H think

all sailors, all people that have crossed the North Atlantic or not,

feel very deeply for these guys Very young some of them, it's all

gone wrong for them. I feel very bad for the family. Sailors frol the

many private boats that helped in the search will take part in a

minute's silence tonight at sunset. Remembering the crew of the Cheeky

Rafiki and the families thex've left behind.

Five men have been charged hn connection with the death of a man

in Bristol. The body of Simon Bowring was found at his hole in

Stapleton last Sunday. The len, aged between 17 and 24, have been charged

with grievous bodily harm whth intent and burglary.

Bath Rugby's players have vowed to come back stronger after losing last

night's European Challenge Cup final. Their hopes of claimhng their

first senior trophy for six years were dashed by Northampton, who won

the game 30`16. To the Saints the spoils. B`th left

with the regrets of another near miss. Threw it away. The first half

was brilliant. Second half, what happened? We could really h`ve done

with some silverware and I just wished it had been today, btt there

we are. I think we were ahe`d of ourselves. Too early. I think this

time next year we'll be really challenging at the top. Aftdr just

missing out on the Premiership playoffs, this was Bath's chance to

wipe away that disappointment. It had all looked so promising when

Anthony Watson raced away for a try in the first half. But thred missed

kicks from the usually reli`ble George Ford let Northampton off the

hook. As Bath heads dropped, the Saints seized their chance to

deliver the knockout blow. We were so close. We saw them lift the

trophy. It hurts. That needs to fuel our ambition and our energy for next

year. No one in the squad w`nts to be known as an also`ran. We're a

very good team. We are capable of doing great things and it's a young

team so we have time on our side. There's no doubt Bath have lade big

strides this year, but in the big games they've come up just short.

the best of any brightness will be for the east but hopefully we should

have some sunny spots if not some breaks in the cloud and somd

to bank holiday Monday, hopdfully more in the way of sunny spdlls

The heavens opened for some of us today. As far as tomorrow is

concerned, more of the same. We have a mixture of whether on the way

showers, sunshine. When the sun is out, it will feel warm. The sun is

very strong at this time of the year. This is the cloud that brought

the deluge in the South this morning. Now the cloud has

transferred further across western areas of the country. In the

south-east, there are still showers and thunderstorms to come. As fire

-- as fun as the second half of the evening is concerned, it should be a

quiet night. There will be fog around in eastern areas of the

country. Tomorrow, unlike today it will start bright. Some showers will

develop in the south-east, but the main thrust of the showers will be

across more western and northern parts of the country. Where the sun
