A woman from Gloucestershire says she'll do | :00:11. | :00:13.
all she can to stop the woman who abused her for 20 years from being | :00:14. | :00:16.
Victoria Spry was mentally and physically tortured | :00:17. | :00:21.
by her adoptive mother, Eunice Spry, from when she was just a baby. | :00:22. | :00:25.
But now, Eunice Spry is due to be released from prison and, according | :00:26. | :00:28.
At home with her beloved dogs, and after a childhood filled with | :00:29. | :00:37.
terror and torture Victoria Spry is at last at peace. | :00:38. | :00:46.
It's now seven years since the woman Victoria still calls | :00:47. | :00:48.
mum was sent to prison for what a judge called the worst case of child | :00:49. | :00:52.
Eunice Spry was a foster mother, to the outside world a pillar | :00:53. | :01:00.
of the community, but behind closed doors she spent nearly | :01:01. | :01:02.
20 years mentally and physically torturing the children in her care. | :01:03. | :01:09.
Routinely starving them, beating them, making them drink | :01:10. | :01:11.
bleach then eat their own vomit and forcing sticks down their throats. | :01:12. | :01:23.
I would be gagging and crying and she said that I had a weak mind, it | :01:24. | :01:32.
was all mind over matter. I was about five years old. After a I | :01:33. | :01:39.
would scream in pain. I would not scream because I was being | :01:40. | :01:44.
rebellious, like she said I was just in pain. Then she would smash a | :01:45. | :01:49.
stick down our throats. I remember giving up. I was in so much pain. | :01:50. | :01:58.
There was no more fight left. I had to go to the dentist and get | :01:59. | :02:04.
dentures. Because you lost your teeth? Yes. They kept building them | :02:05. | :02:14.
At one point, Victoria was stripped naked, tied up, blindfolded | :02:15. | :02:17.
and left in the corner of a freezing cold room at this derelict farmhouse | :02:18. | :02:21.
Astonishingly, though, the signs were ignored. | :02:22. | :02:25.
Opportunities to help the children were missed by the authorities. | :02:26. | :02:28.
And it was only years later, when driven to the brink of suicide, | :02:29. | :02:32.
that Victoria spoke out and Spry was arrested. | :02:33. | :02:44.
It was harrowing, going into court and giving evidence, and seeing the | :02:45. | :02:53.
sticks with teeth marks on, and seeing the notes that I wrote when I | :02:54. | :02:59.
was a baby at asking neighbours to be my mother. Things that I had | :03:00. | :03:04.
forgotten, it was difficult to see. I really thought that she was going | :03:05. | :03:08.
She was sentenced to 14 years in prison, but now, | :03:09. | :03:11.
seven years later, is due to be released and is due to be housed | :03:12. | :03:15.
Something that Victoria has started a petition against, which now has | :03:16. | :03:19.
I have worked so hard to build a life for myself and I wanted to | :03:20. | :03:34.
carry on and carry on being as happy as I am. I cannot see her again. She | :03:35. | :03:42.
messed with my head. I am not frightened of her physically, but it | :03:43. | :03:44.
would knock me for six. Victoria Spry speaking to | :03:45. | :03:48.
Laura Jones. The Ministry | :03:49. | :03:50.

and Bath has the highest concentration of technology firms | :04:24. | :04:31.
anywhere outside London. The news comes | :04:32. | :04:33.
as six technology companies begin recruiting in Bristol, offering | :04:34. | :04:35.
hundreds of highly skilled jobs. Why am I gripping the edge | :04:36. | :04:47.

Bristol is a close second, and for businesses being | :05:39. | :05:43.
near other companies is important. Think about how new ideas are | :05:44. | :05:48.
formed, how businesses merge. People need to be together | :05:49. | :05:53.
to do that, in the cities. That is why places like Bristol are | :05:54. | :05:58.
more and more attractive to people So today hundreds of West Country?s | :05:59. | :06:01.

who has our evening forecast. The dry weather continues for a | :06:27. | :06:38.
little while longer. Tomorrow will have more in the way of cloud, | :06:39. | :06:44.
particularly in the North. Dry conditions and warm conditions as | :06:45. | :06:48.
well. Through tonight, we will see dry weather all the way through, | :06:49. | :06:53.
temperatures around ten or 12 Celsius. Some cloud going from the | :06:54. | :06:57.
south west across the Bristol Channel, around the coastal fringes | :06:58. | :07:01.
tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will stop with dry conditions. The best of the | :07:02. | :07:05.

you come towards the north, there will be some medium level cloud as | :07:11. | :07:15.
well. You can season spots of rain from that across Wales. I doubt that | :07:16. | :07:21.
much of that will affect our districts. The temperatures will be | :07:22. | :07:26.
in the low 20s. A high pollen count. On Friday, clearing away the | :07:27. | :07:30.
