There'll be major disruption on one of the busiest commuter

routes into Bristol from tomorrow, as multimillion`pound repair work

More than 19,000 vehicles use the Long Ashton bypass each day.

It's a popular commuter route into Bristol.

But from tomorrow morning two of three lanes on the Long Ashton

From the road it's hard to see the Yanley Viaduct ,which supports

from the thousands of vehicles which use it each day.

down the line the expansion joints in the bridge could seize,

the bridge could then potentially buckle, which would cause far

greater problems, far greater closure time to put it right.

with vehicles going into Bristol using it in the morning and outbound
