Hello. Welcome to Wales Today. Tonight's top stories: | :00:06. | :00:10.
A strong Welsh police presence on the streets of England. Welsh MPs | :00:10. | :00:20.
:00:20. | :00:26. | ||
call for a re-think on any funding Also tonight: | :00:26. | :00:28.
The tills aren't ringing. Businesses in South Wales say sales | :00:28. | :00:33.
are worryingly slow. The underwater plant with potential | :00:33. | :00:38.
power. Could seaweed be fuelling our homes of the future? | :00:38. | :00:41.
Left derelict and neglected, but the wheels are turning again after | :00:41. | :00:46.
50 years. The watermill brought back to life. | :00:47. | :00:50.
And we're live at the Cardiff City Stadium where Wales are looking for | :00:50. | :01:00.
:01:00. | :01:02. | ||
a second win on the bounce against Good evening. There are calls | :01:02. | :01:05.
tonight for a rethink over plans to cut the number of police in Wales. | :01:05. | :01:08.
More than 1300 jobs, front-line officers and civilian staff, are | :01:08. | :01:13.
expected to go in the next four years. Opposition politicians say | :01:13. | :01:16.
the cutting numbers here would be a mistake. All four Welsh police | :01:16. | :01:20.
forces have sent officers to London and other cities to try to contain | :01:20. | :01:30.
:01:30. | :01:32. | ||
the violence. Shutting up shop. Some stores in | :01:32. | :01:37.
Cardiff, including this jewellers are not taking any chances. They | :01:37. | :01:42.
have been closing early for the FA -- for the past few days. South | :01:42. | :01:48.
Wales police have been very good. They have given us a lot of | :01:48. | :01:51.
intelligence and a lot of recommendations on how we should | :01:51. | :02:00.
deal if we have any rioting or disturbances. But it is business as | :02:00. | :02:06.
usual for many retailers. The riots may not have reached Wales but the | :02:06. | :02:10.
debate over their cause and how to prevent them certainly has. All | :02:10. | :02:16.
against a backdrop of government spending cuts. Be inspected of | :02:16. | :02:21.
Constabulary estimates that within four years, there will be 764 fewer | :02:21. | :02:26.
police officers in Wales. More than 500 civilian police jobs will be | :02:26. | :02:31.
lost. Labour put the figure is higher. We have always said that | :02:31. | :02:36.
these cuts were coming too fast. They were deeper than necessary. It | :02:36. | :02:39.
gives enormous problems to the police in having to try to maintain | :02:39. | :02:45.
the services and the response that the public expect. The UK | :02:45. | :02:49.
government says it is possible to cut police funding and numbers | :02:49. | :02:53.
without cutting the front line. The organisation which represents | :02:53. | :02:57.
police officers in North Wales disagrees. We have a set number of | :02:57. | :03:02.
police officers. We have sent officers to London and Manchester. | :03:02. | :03:06.
This is the time for the government to see the importance of | :03:06. | :03:09.
maintaining a police officers. Officers from Welsh forces are | :03:09. | :03:13.
currently helping the Metropolitan Police on the streets of London. | :03:13. | :03:18.
Tomorrow, Welsh MPs will join colleagues to debate the | :03:18. | :03:23.
disturbances in Parliament. important thing is that the debate | :03:23. | :03:26.
surrounds why this is happening, the economic and social problems we | :03:26. | :03:30.
have in the UK and the future direction of fiscal policy and the | :03:31. | :03:34.
effect it might have one hour society rather than just | :03:34. | :03:38.
concentrate on what has happened in the past few days. One Welsh | :03:38. | :03:43.
backbencher will have first-hand experience to report. The Monmouth | :03:43. | :03:48.
NP8 returned from holiday today to report to the front line. He is a | :03:48. | :03:52.
volunteer special constable. We can hear from David now. Is there any | :03:52. | :03:57.
chance the government will think again on police funding? Not if | :03:57. | :04:01.
David Cameron sticks to his guns. Hottie is saying today is that he | :04:01. | :04:05.
has asked the police if they need more resources and they have told | :04:05. | :04:08.
him they have enough. He understands the demands for extra | :04:08. | :04:13.
money for the police and for the campaign to stop the cats, but the | :04:13. | :04:19.
government's position is that it is possible to cut but it -- to cut | :04:19. | :04:23.
but the funding and the number of police officers but not to harm | :04:23. | :04:27.
services on the front line. The government argues you can do other | :04:27. | :04:30.
things by changing the working practices of the police, changing | :04:30. | :04:33.
of the ways in which they are funded and the way in which they | :04:33. | :04:36.
operate. That can actually mean that although less money is spent | :04:36. | :04:42.
on the police, the services to the public are still as strong as ever. | :04:42. | :04:46.
It is a very difficult political argument for the Prime Minister to | :04:46. | :04:50.
win at a time when police forces are stretched and the Metropolitan | :04:50. | :04:55.
Police are relying on the four Welsh police forces to help it | :04:55. | :04:59.
police the streets of London. Tomorrow, can we expect a full | :04:59. | :05:07.
turnout of Welsh MPs? Most Welsh MPs. Normal people in August are | :05:07. | :05:10.
enjoying a holiday and we have done a ring around today and I can tell | :05:10. | :05:15.
you that at least three quarters of the 40 Labour MPs -- of the 40 | :05:15. | :05:20.
Welsh Labour MPs will be here tomorrow. They are cutting short | :05:20. | :05:23.
their holidays, delaying the holidays. They want to be here. | :05:24. | :05:28.
Although so far the disturbances have been confined to English | :05:28. | :05:32.
streets, MPs will be talking about wider issues, about the social | :05:32. | :05:38.
problems that mind -- but the social problems that may lie behind | :05:38. | :05:42.
these issues. David Davies will want to have his say. He has got | :05:42. | :05:46.
very strong views on how the police operate. By the time is be tomorrow, | :05:46. | :05:52.
the MPs will be sure from 11am and will finish after eight hours of | :05:52. | :05:56.
debate. Many businesses here say sales have | :05:56. | :06:00.
been down during the last few months. The South Wales Chamber of | :06:00. | :06:02.
Commerce surveyed almost 3,000 small and medium businesses and | :06:02. | :06:05.
said it was partly down to the longer Easter break and the Royal | :06:05. | :06:09.
wedding. Today, the Bank of England said inflation could rise to five | :06:09. | :06:19.
:06:19. | :06:19. | ||
percent by the end of the year and lowered its forecast for growth. | :06:20. | :06:24.
It was supposed to be a cause for national celebration. A bonus day | :06:24. | :06:28.
off and a moment to distract us from the surrounding financial | :06:28. | :06:33.
gloom. Now it seems the Royal Wedding is being cited by companies | :06:33. | :06:37.
as a reason that Welsh businesses grew more slowly than expected in | :06:37. | :06:43.
the second quarter of the year. In a survey of 2,800 small and medium- | :06:43. | :06:48.
sized businesses carried out by the South Wales Chamber of Commerce, it | :06:48. | :06:53.
was found that in Swansea, 34% of company said sales had fallen. In | :06:53. | :07:00.
Newport, 28% of firms said sales had dropped and in Cardiff, 21% of | :07:00. | :07:04.
companies said their sales had dropped. This man has been running | :07:04. | :07:08.
his training camp in Swansea for 20 years and has noticed a fall in | :07:08. | :07:11.
business. He agrees the Royal Wedding did not have the figures | :07:11. | :07:17.
but says there are four more important underlying issues. One of | :07:17. | :07:22.
the latest forecast, which are slightly under -- slightly | :07:22. | :07:27.
overblown, say that most Welsh businesses say they do not think | :07:27. | :07:30.
there will be in business in two years. In my view, there are | :07:30. | :07:36.
certainly not optimism of a sustained kind in companies with in | :07:36. | :07:41.
Swansea in any sector. The survey also showed that more than three | :07:41. | :07:45.
quarters of businesses reported no export activity and that is | :07:45. | :07:49.
something that business analysts say it must change if we are to | :07:49. | :07:54.
improve the Welsh economy. markets that we need to be looking | :07:54. | :07:58.
to and the government could properly assist in terms of helping | :07:58. | :08:06.
access those markets are going to Asia more generally because that is | :08:06. | :08:09.
the part of the world that is still growing reasonably quickly. In the | :08:09. | :08:14.
short term, the hoping Swansea at least is that football and | :08:14. | :08:18.
Swansea's promotion to the Premier League and a boost business. Any | :08:18. | :08:22.
longer term, companies here are just as dependent on the wider | :08:22. | :08:28.
economic picture as the rest of the company. -- country. Today, the | :08:28. | :08:32.
Bank of England's lowered its forecast for growth. It is believed | :08:32. | :08:42.
:08:42. | :08:58. | ||
inflation could rise to 5%. The health board is currently | :08:58. | :09:02.
trying to trace former workers to offer screening tests. As many as | :09:02. | :09:06.
30 people may have been affected. The trust became aware of the | :09:06. | :09:10.
problem when it took over as boss stability for Bronglais Hospital in | :09:10. | :09:14.
2009. It realised the asbestos in the building had not been managed | :09:14. | :09:18.
as strictly as it should have been. An investigation was launched which | :09:18. | :09:23.
led to today's findings. Despite the news, the Trust is keen to | :09:23. | :09:27.
stress that there is no risk to patients or members of the public. | :09:27. | :09:30.
Our first priority is the welfare of our staff. It is regrettable | :09:30. | :09:35.
that some of our staff have not been -- have been potentially | :09:35. | :09:38.
exposed to asbestos. We are offering them screening. We want to | :09:38. | :09:42.
make sure that they have that opportunity to be seen by our | :09:42. | :09:45.
occupational health team and following that prices, we will | :09:45. | :09:51.
offer them all the support necessary. Asbestos was a proper -- | :09:51. | :09:55.
poplar building material because of its strength and resistance to heat. | :09:55. | :09:59.
But expose its share to it over a long period of time can lead to all | :09:59. | :10:03.
kinds of health problems, was commonly lung cancer. It has been | :10:03. | :10:07.
banned in the UK building trade since the mid- 1980s but remains in | :10:07. | :10:15.
as many as half a million public and commercial buildings year. The | :10:15. | :10:22.
Hywel Dda Health Board says systems have been put in place to prevent | :10:22. | :10:27.
still ahead: We know their strength in rugby but how will Wales cope | :10:27. | :10:33.
with the Socceroos tonight? And it has not worked for 50 years. | :10:33. | :10:40.
The mill finally turning back the crop -- the clock. | :10:40. | :10:43.
Hundreds of Welsh soldiers are about to finish their training in | :10:43. | :10:48.
Wiltshire ETA -- ahead of a tour of Afghanistan. The Queen's Dragoon | :10:48. | :10:53.
Guards will be concentrating on training the Afghan army. We have | :10:53. | :11:01.
watched them being put through their paces. | :11:01. | :11:05.
It is a three-week exercise for the Queen's Dragoon Guards. And a few | :11:05. | :11:12.
months, they will take on the Taliban for real. The Welsh Cavalry | :11:12. | :11:15.
will be in a number of roles including watching over patrols | :11:15. | :11:22.
like this with the Afghan national army. Four troopers Trooper Thomas | :11:22. | :11:26.
Warner and Trooper Joel Edwards, this will be their first tour of | :11:26. | :11:34.
duty. I will be the driver. By will be going out on patrols and to | :11:34. | :11:39.
providing help for the infantry. Just having a look around the area. | :11:39. | :11:44.
Looking out as far as we can. Welsh Cavalry were in Helmand | :11:44. | :11:49.
Province two years ago. This time, the emphasis will be on getting the | :11:49. | :11:54.
after an army to take the lead. previous dollars, they have left us | :11:54. | :11:57.
do the job but now they're trying to get the Afghan civil to see if | :11:57. | :12:01.
we can get the more care -- capable of doing the task we have been | :12:01. | :12:06.
doing. British afghans and former Gurkhas are playing the role of | :12:06. | :12:09.
civilians and Afghan army and police for this training exercise. | :12:09. | :12:16.
They have even built a Helmand Province style village. British | :12:16. | :12:19.
Army foot patrols out with the Afghan counterparts are becoming | :12:20. | :12:26.
smaller to encourage them to take the lead. Sergeant Jason Davies | :12:26. | :12:31.
will be spending a lot of time with his Afghan trainees. This time, I | :12:31. | :12:38.
am part of a two man team. I am advising around 60 Afghan national | :12:38. | :12:45.
army. I will be training them in the afternoons. I will be having a | :12:45. | :12:49.
game of football with them, Rigby, because the World Cup will be on. | :12:49. | :12:55.
We will be doing medical training, mine clearing, cleaning the rifles, | :12:55. | :13:00.
cleaning weapons, looking after their kit. Trying to educate them | :13:00. | :13:04.
slightly in the things that if they look after something, it will last | :13:04. | :13:08.
longer. It is highly important to train how to deal with mines and | :13:08. | :13:15.
other explosive devices. They have caused a huge proportion of British | :13:15. | :13:19.
fatalities so far and continue to pose a real threat to international | :13:19. | :13:29.
:13:29. | :13:32. | ||
Seaweed. Could it be the answer to our future energy needs? | :13:32. | :13:35.
Researchers at Aberystwyth University have been looking at how | :13:35. | :13:39.
kelp can be used to produce fuel. Cemlyn Davies is on the beach for | :13:39. | :13:44.
us tonight. Now, as you can see, there's no | :13:44. | :13:50.
lack of seaweed in this part of the world. Most of this stuff is what's | :13:50. | :13:53.
called egg wrack but, out there in Cardigan Bay, there's an abundance | :13:53. | :14:00.
of kelp. You can only get to it when the tide's out but that's | :14:00. | :14:02.
exactly where the researchers from Aberystwyth University have been | :14:02. | :14:12.
:14:12. | :14:19. | ||
gathering their samples. I come down to the beach once a | :14:19. | :14:29.
month. Dr Jessica Adams makes another treacherous journey to the | :14:29. | :14:32.
heart of Cardigan Bay. She has been looking at how this underwater | :14:32. | :14:38.
plant can produce fuel. One of the big problems with most of the pile | :14:38. | :14:42.
fills we made today is that they come from land plants, particularly | :14:42. | :14:48.
ones we eat like maize and week. Seaweed, we don't really eat, apart | :14:48. | :14:57.
from here in Wales. It is not taking a bland. P kelp is a freeze- | :14:57. | :15:02.
dried and made into a powder ready for the next step. In a | :15:02. | :15:08.
fermentation, you have got your dry seaweed and some water. You have | :15:08. | :15:12.
also got some East and that uses the sugars in the seaweed to | :15:12. | :15:22.
produce the ethanol which can then be used as fuel. The research at | :15:22. | :15:27.
Aberystwyth University is part of a wider 20 million project. As well | :15:27. | :15:31.
as creating by a fills, the Beacons programme looks at ways of | :15:31. | :15:34.
producing everyday things like clothes and cosmetics without using | :15:34. | :15:41.
oil. It was Wales right at the head of some of this research. That is | :15:41. | :15:44.
obviously important but, more globally, if you think about | :15:44. | :15:49.
climate change, we are trying to encourage organisations to move | :15:49. | :15:53.
away from using oil and use some of those chemicals we can get from | :15:53. | :15:59.
plants. As the research into ways of combating climate change | :15:59. | :16:08.
continues, Jessica's may not be the only findings making a splash. | :16:08. | :16:14.
If I am joined by Dr Jessica Adams. It is possible to create by your | :16:14. | :16:18.
fuel from seaweed but how realistic is it that one day we will be using | :16:18. | :16:24.
seaweed to power our homes and our cars? Realistically, if that was | :16:24. | :16:28.
the only thing we were using the seaweed for, I am not quite sure it | :16:28. | :16:32.
would be viable, at least in the near future, just because of the | :16:32. | :16:40.
economics. What needs to happen for us to get to that point? It is part | :16:40. | :16:47.
of this new project that we are doing with the idea is to take out | :16:47. | :16:50.
high-value products from the sea weed and the residues that were | :16:50. | :16:57.
left over can be used. That way it could become viable. You have also | :16:57. | :17:02.
established what the best time of year is to be harvesting the kelp. | :17:02. | :17:08.
Yes, we have discovered that in the summer, there is the highest level | :17:08. | :17:12.
of the carbohydrates which can be used for making ethanol. We also | :17:12. | :17:16.
found that they have the lowest level of metals in the seaweed at | :17:16. | :17:21.
that time and that also has an effect. And for you, this project | :17:21. | :17:29.
is coming to an end. What is next for you? Taking on, extracting new | :17:29. | :17:34.
and interesting chemicals which can be used in a range of different | :17:34. | :17:38.
cosmetics and pharmaceutical uses. Looking at the residues and whether | :17:38. | :17:43.
we can do useful things with that as well. And that is something | :17:43. | :17:48.
Aberystwyth University will be doing? Yes, on seaweed and a range | :17:48. | :17:55.
of other plants. Thank you very much for joining us. | :17:56. | :17:59.
Wrexham Football Club will play its first match of the football season | :17:59. | :18:02.
this Saturday after fans forked out 100,000 to help pay an outstanding | :18:02. | :18:06.
bond. The Football Conference confirmed the Dragons match against | :18:06. | :18:10.
Cambridge United will go ahead as planned. Using social network sites | :18:10. | :18:13.
to mobilise support, the Racecourse faithful raised the six figure sum | :18:13. | :18:23.
:18:23. | :18:25. | ||
in just seven hours. They all got involved and then it | :18:25. | :18:29.
took a life of its own. To see people coming down and phoning from | :18:29. | :18:38.
all over the world as well, someone from Canada. Fantastic. But whether | :18:38. | :18:42.
it is 100, 1 or 10,000, it is the act of people putting their | :18:42. | :18:47.
money in to help save the football club and moving it forward. | :18:47. | :18:51.
Sport now, and the Premier League starts this weekend, so maybe | :18:51. | :18:54.
tonight isn't the ideal time for an international friendly. But that's | :18:54. | :18:57.
what we've got. It's Wales against Australia at the Cardiff City | :18:57. | :19:01.
Stadium and Ashleigh's there for us. Well, we've been used to seeing a | :19:01. | :19:07.
spate of withdrawals before recent friendly matches. But it's a sign | :19:07. | :19:10.
of the team spirit that Gary Speed is building that the likes of Bale, | :19:10. | :19:13.
Ramsey and Bellamy have all turned up to play in tonight's match | :19:13. | :19:16.
against the Socceroos, even though the start of the Premier League is | :19:16. | :19:22.
only a few days away. But Gary Speed is well aware there'll be a | :19:22. | :19:32.
:19:32. | :19:46. | ||
few club managers watching tonight. Already we feel we have done some | :19:46. | :19:50.
good work with the boys. It is important to us but I understand | :19:50. | :19:57.
their point of view. I have spoken to a lot of them on the phone so | :19:57. | :19:59.
with the communication is there between the managers and we will | :19:59. | :20:06.
make sure we look after all our pick -- players. | :20:06. | :20:16.
:20:16. | :20:16. | ||
With the Premier League only three or four days away, we are joined by | :20:16. | :20:22.
a Iwan Roberts. What does that say about the spirit that is building? | :20:22. | :20:26.
I think it is a really positive sign for Gary Speed that they are | :20:26. | :20:30.
fully behind him. They really want to take Wales forward now. We have | :20:30. | :20:34.
got to start climbing up those rankings. The only way we can do | :20:34. | :20:38.
that is by winning games. The team we have got out tonight and the | :20:38. | :20:43.
players Gary Speed has got at his disposal, I can see us doing that. | :20:43. | :20:48.
Craig Bellamy's future is still at India. Do you think he will want to | :20:48. | :20:53.
put himself in the shop window tonight? It is a great chance for | :20:53. | :20:57.
Craig. He did not go away pre- season with Manchester City. He | :20:57. | :21:02.
does not want to go to Celtic. Sunderland have put a bid in for | :21:02. | :21:06.
him but he has stated he was to come back to Cardiff. It is a great | :21:06. | :21:09.
platform to show what he can do although we all know what Craig can | :21:09. | :21:15.
do. A big month coming up for Wales with a game at Wembley very shortly. | :21:15. | :21:21.
But this will be a tough test tonight. They are a good side. They | :21:21. | :21:24.
qualify for World Cups on a regular basis. They have got players | :21:24. | :21:28.
playing in the top leagues all over Europe. They are 23rd in the | :21:28. | :21:32.
rankings so they are a decent side and it will be a tough test. It is | :21:32. | :21:36.
important that we build on the victory be got over Northern | :21:36. | :21:40.
Ireland in May. Two victories on the spin, that will do confidence | :21:40. | :21:46.
the world of good. Any chance Wales could get a second one on the trot? | :21:46. | :21:51.
I think we can, especially with the team we have got out. We will take | :21:51. | :21:58.
the game to them and get a positive result. | :21:58. | :22:02.
We'll update you on the result in our bulletin at 10:25pm and let you | :22:02. | :22:04.
know what happened in Cardiff's Carling Cup first round match at | :22:04. | :22:12.
Oxford. And don't forget that tomorrow we'll find out the Wales | :22:12. | :22:21.
rugby team to face England on Saturday. Will Henson be in or out? | :22:21. | :22:26.
Find out in our lunchtime programme at 1:30pm tomorrow. Certainly | :22:26. | :22:33.
plenty to look forward to, Claire. An 18th Century watermill in Powys | :22:33. | :22:38.
has re-opened today after a 400,000 renovation. The derelict | :22:38. | :22:41.
Melin Talgarth was restored as part of a lottery funded Village SOS | :22:41. | :22:46.
Scheme aimed at reviving countryside locations around the UK. | :22:47. | :22:56.
:22:57. | :22:59. | ||
From Talgarth, here's Craig Duggan. Turning again for the first time in | :22:59. | :23:08.
65 years, Melin Talgarth. Last year, it when the big lottery award and | :23:08. | :23:12.
this is the culmination of a 400,000 lottery-funded project | :23:12. | :23:17.
which it is hoped will breathe new life into the community. There was | :23:17. | :23:22.
no inner workings in the mill, it was completely broken down. It has | :23:22. | :23:27.
all been beautifully restored, by volunteers a lot of it. Now we see | :23:27. | :23:33.
an absolutely gorgeous buildings. With an official opening, for | :23:33. | :23:40.
people of a Talgarth could look back on 12 months of very hard work. | :23:40. | :23:45.
The flower it now produces is used to make bread in the milk's cafe. | :23:45. | :23:49.
For the local man who built the new workings, it is a cause of great | :23:49. | :23:54.
pride. This is the first time I have actually done the whole | :23:54. | :23:58.
project. We have restored mills but we have not restore them to fulfil | :23:58. | :24:03.
a function. They have been restored for exhibits in museums. This time | :24:03. | :24:06.
we are producing flour which is used in the bakery to produce the | :24:06. | :24:12.
bread they are using in the cafe. It is the whole circle. The story | :24:12. | :24:17.
of the transformation was filmed as the BBC joined the lottery fund in | :24:17. | :24:22.
the project. While this project is nearing completion, other doors are | :24:22. | :24:25.
opening. Advice is available on their website for other communities | :24:25. | :24:28.
who want to embark on similar projects and more money is | :24:28. | :24:33.
available. Lots of information, good examples, pressed practice, | :24:33. | :24:40.
advice, but we are also launching a 5 million pound fund as a | :24:40. | :24:44.
competition so we can pick some good ideas for more villages that | :24:44. | :24:48.
want to take this journey and give them a small grants to smart -- | :24:48. | :24:54.
start them on their way. We hope this is a beginning. The story can | :24:54. | :25:02.
be seen tonight on BBC One Wales at 8pm. | :25:02. | :25:07.
Right, I think it's brollies at the ready. Behnaz has the forecast. A | :25:07. | :25:17.
:25:17. | :25:22. | ||
Let's take a look at a live shot of Aberystwyth. It is very windy. Also | :25:22. | :25:27.
some rain. Let's take a look at the forecast for this evening. Wet and | :25:27. | :25:31.
windy conditions to come up for all of us but, at the moment, much of | :25:31. | :25:36.
the wet weather seems to be across parts of North Wales. The a weather | :25:36. | :25:44.
warning has been issued. There is a risk of localised flooding. Much of | :25:44. | :25:48.
the wet weather across North Wales, spreading into the West as we go | :25:48. | :25:52.
through this evening. Late-evening, reaching parts of the East. It's | :25:52. | :25:57.
very wet night in store and windy conditions. Temperatures are | :25:57. | :26:03.
holding up, ranging between 15 and 16 degrees Celsius. We have got an | :26:03. | :26:06.
area of low pressure tomorrow morning across parts of North Wales | :26:06. | :26:11.
and another across the Atlantic. First thing tomorrow morning, the | :26:11. | :26:14.
rain will clear through quite quickly and then we have got a lot | :26:14. | :26:19.
of cloud and a few showers into the afternoon. The wind and lighter | :26:19. | :26:23.
than today but still noticeable across the coast. Feeling rather | :26:23. | :26:28.
humid tomorrow and in the evening, a much quieter night. Remaining | :26:28. | :26:38.
cloudy and rather mild. It will stay Raji dry -- largely dry. | :26:38. | :26:41.
Friday will be largely dry and rather humid and then we will see a | :26:41. | :26:46.
band of rain making its way in from the West as we go into the early | :26:46. | :26:54.
hours of Saturday. The best day of It's almost 7pm. The main news | :26:54. | :26:58.
again from the BBC: The Prime Minister has declared a | :26:58. | :27:01.
fightback against the rioters who've been wreaking havoc in | :27:01. | :27:04.
cities across England for the past four nights. Today, David Cameron | :27:04. | :27:07.
vowed that the violence would be stopped and said he would not allow | :27:07. | :27:10.
a culture of fear to exist on our streets. | :27:10. | :27:14.
There are pockets of our society that are not just broken but, | :27:14. | :27:20.
frankly, sick. When we see children as Ian as 12 and 13 looting and | :27:20. | :27:23.
laughing, when we see the disgusting sight of an injured | :27:23. | :27:27.
young man with people pretending to help him while they are robbing him, | :27:27. | :27:33. |
