Welcome to Wales Today. Our top story tonight: The faces of the | :00:04. | :00:10.
families thank the emergency services and the community. An | :00:10. | :00:19.
investigation is under way. We are going to do this | :00:19. | :00:23.
investigation properly. Everybody expects that from us and I can | :00:23. | :00:26.
assure everybody that we will get to the bottom of this situation. | :00:27. | :00:30.
A community in mourning pays its respects - the appeal fund for the | :00:30. | :00:37.
miners' families has already reached 50,000. The response to | :00:37. | :00:40.
the Appeal has been tremendous. The telephones have been ringing off | :00:40. | :00:44.
the wall and we have had a steady stream of people coming to the | :00:44. | :00:54.
:00:54. | :00:58. | ||
office with private donations all Our other headlines tonight: Wales | :00:58. | :01:08.
:01:08. | :01:10. | ||
loses out on Jaguar Land Rover's new engine plant and 750 jobs. The | :01:11. | :01:13.
company behind plans to build a waste incinerator here has a | :01:13. | :01:19.
history of breaking environment regulations in the United States. A | :01:19. | :01:23.
win but walking wounded, too. Gatland has injury concerns while | :01:23. | :01:33.
:01:33. | :01:34. | ||
it's a 4:00am breakfast for fans The families of the four miners | :01:34. | :01:37.
killed at the Gleision Colliery have paid tribute to the men who | :01:37. | :01:46.
lost their lives when the mine flooded last Thursday. It also | :01:46. | :01:49.
proves to the bravery of the rescue teams who worked tirelessly for two | :01:49. | :01:55.
days. An investigation into what happened is ongoing. The wall of | :01:55. | :01:57.
flowers left by well-wishers has grown over the weekend. One note | :01:58. | :02:04.
simply reads, love you and miss you, Dad. | :02:04. | :02:07.
With the investigation well under way into exactly what happened here, | :02:07. | :02:11.
and how this small drift mine claimed the lives of four | :02:11. | :02:17.
experienced miners, today we learnt more about the men who died. Their | :02:17. | :02:20.
families released pictures of their loved ones along with their own | :02:20. | :02:28.
tributes. Charles who was 62 and married for 40 years had followed | :02:28. | :02:31.
his father into the minds and had worked out most of the Small mines | :02:31. | :02:36.
in the area. A community man who loved his fishing and balls, he had | :02:36. | :02:40.
just finished building his dream home. His family crest the | :02:40. | :02:50.
:02:50. | :02:58. | ||
dedication of the emergency David Powell, 50, is described as a | :02:58. | :03:03.
proud Collier, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and true | :03:03. | :03:08.
friend. He was alive and so, he brought joy and fun to everyone he | :03:08. | :03:16.
met, said his family. Philip Hill, 45, had lost his mother and son in | :03:16. | :03:23.
recent months. The family in particular wish to take the | :03:23. | :03:27.
opportunity to sign the mind's rescue teams who worked tirelessly | :03:27. | :03:32.
to bring art Philip home safely but sadly in the end, says a tribute. | :03:32. | :03:42.
:03:42. | :03:42. | ||
Garry Jenkins, 39, was described by He lived life to that bill, | :03:42. | :03:45.
enjoying his caravan and was passionate about darts. His son is | :03:45. | :03:55.
:03:55. | :03:58. | ||
quoted as saying, I am going to The investigation into what caused | :03:58. | :04:03.
this tragedy is being led by South Wales police, working with the | :04:03. | :04:08.
Health and Safety Executive. A know that something has gone wrong, but | :04:08. | :04:12.
that we're absolutely sure, but it would be improper for me to | :04:12. | :04:17.
speculate at this moment in time and obviously, we are going to do | :04:17. | :04:21.
this investigation properly. Everybody expects that from us and | :04:21. | :04:27.
I can assure everyone that we will get to the bottom of the situation. | :04:27. | :04:30.
What is already accepted is that the men died when water broke into | :04:30. | :04:35.
the mind. A drift mine, it has worked sideways into the hillside, | :04:35. | :04:43.
entered through a tunnel, following the call. They were working at a. | :04:43. | :04:48.
Mother of 800 feet inside. They used explosives to dislodge the | :04:48. | :04:52.
rock and that is standard practice but it released a flood water that | :04:52. | :04:57.
filled part of the tunnel. That was pumped out and the debris formed | :04:57. | :05:01.
another obstacle. Three of their bodies were found close to each | :05:01. | :05:06.
other in the area where they had been working. The 4th, on the other | :05:06. | :05:12.
side the blockage. There was no roof collapse, there was no damage | :05:12. | :05:17.
to the passageway, just blockages caused by timber and debris that | :05:17. | :05:26.
had washed in with the water. It was like a train coming down a | :05:26. | :05:29.
passage way with a four-foot wall of water in front of it, it must | :05:29. | :05:33.
have been horrendous when the water entered the mind. Three miners | :05:33. | :05:37.
escaped, two of them were at the exit when the water came in. One of | :05:37. | :05:42.
them, the son of one of those who died. They ran to safety and they | :05:42. | :05:49.
are helped in the rescue efforts. A third miner who escaped suffered | :05:49. | :05:54.
serious injuries. He is being treated in hospital where he is in | :05:54. | :05:58.
in an induced,. This afternoon it was announced that the inquest into | :05:58. | :06:06.
the deaths is expected to be opened later this week or early next week. | :06:06. | :06:09.
The whole community has been affected by what happened. A fund | :06:09. | :06:12.
set up to support the families has now reached more than 50,000. Nick | :06:12. | :06:15.
Palit has been in the Swansea Valley to find out how they are | :06:15. | :06:21.
pulling together. A dark cloud hangs over the village | :06:21. | :06:25.
today. This community was home to one of the dead miners and also | :06:25. | :06:30.
looks directly onto the hillside that tops the mind. One that | :06:30. | :06:33.
hillside, the police roadblock is now gone, replaced by a cordon of | :06:33. | :06:39.
flowers. The weather here today echoes the mood of the valley - | :06:39. | :06:44.
dark and sombre. As the hours pass, more floral tributes lined the | :06:44. | :06:50.
route to the mind. Messages of support for the families, this one | :06:50. | :06:55.
typical, heartbreakingly sad - the pean we are feeling reverberates | :06:55. | :07:00.
throughout Wales and beyond. As the investigation into the accident | :07:00. | :07:03.
continues from some involved in the rest you have been talking about | :07:03. | :07:06.
the mental and physical told the operation exacted from them will | :07:07. | :07:12.
stop a when they heard that the 4th person had been found, all our | :07:12. | :07:19.
hearts sank. All along, it was a search and rescue mission and we | :07:19. | :07:26.
kept driving ourselves forward that after 36 hours on the site, all my | :07:26. | :07:36.
:07:36. | :07:37. | ||
energy suddenly sank and I think I was ready for home. Over the | :07:37. | :07:41.
weekend, the community came together to remember the miners and | :07:41. | :07:46.
show support for their families. Here, a makeshift memorial and | :07:46. | :07:55.
candlelit vigil. The local MP helped launch an appeal fund to | :07:55. | :08:00.
support the miners' families. It has already raised 50,000. | :08:00. | :08:04.
response has been tremendous. The telephones have been ringing off | :08:04. | :08:07.
the wall and we have had a steady stream of people coming to the | :08:08. | :08:11.
office with private donations all day. Prince Charles has agreed to | :08:11. | :08:17.
be the patron and well as of the committee in due course. | :08:17. | :08:22.
family's car has broken but also, they have to pay the bills like | :08:22. | :08:28.
everybody else and for loss of them, the miners were the main wage | :08:28. | :08:31.
earners so perhaps they will have very little of their money so it is | :08:31. | :08:36.
a means of helping them out and seeing what they need and the | :08:36. | :08:39.
trustees will have to determine how it will be spent. The UK government | :08:40. | :08:44.
has pledged to boost the funds by 25%, paying gift Aid on all | :08:44. | :08:49.
donations. Further fund-raising events are planned for the coming | :08:49. | :08:52.
weekend. More from the rescuers and those | :08:52. | :08:54.
involved in the investigation into the Gleision mining tragedy in a | :08:54. | :09:04.
Week In, Week Out special tonight at 8:30pm here on BBC One Wales. | :09:04. | :09:08.
Five enterprise zones will be created across Wales to help | :09:08. | :09:12.
businesses, companies in those homes will get rates relief. The | :09:12. | :09:16.
announcement comes as after it was announced that Wales have lost out | :09:16. | :09:22.
on 750 jobs at a new Jaguar engine plant. It will be in a tent in an | :09:22. | :09:26.
area which is an enterprise zone. Live now to our business | :09:26. | :09:30.
correspondent. Ivan the very lively surroundings | :09:30. | :09:33.
of the Cardiff Business Club for their first meeting of the year and | :09:33. | :09:38.
tonight we will have an announcement, much-anticipated, on | :09:38. | :09:42.
enterprise zones in Wales. They have already been proposals under | :09:42. | :09:46.
way in England to try and help companies in certain areas and | :09:46. | :09:52.
tonight I can tell you there will be a five in Wales. In the Cardiff | :09:52. | :09:56.
Central Business District, there will be his own on to financial- | :09:56. | :10:01.
services, in Anglesey, energy, in ever feel, the automotive sector | :10:01. | :10:05.
and in Deeside, advanced manufacturing and in the Vale of | :10:05. | :10:11.
Glamorgan, it will be about aeronautical industries. The | :10:11. | :10:19.
Business Minister this with me. What benefits those companies in | :10:19. | :10:27.
those sectors where they receive? This is the first stage of the | :10:27. | :10:31.
announcement, we're having discussions about other enterprises. | :10:31. | :10:35.
What has been made clear to me over the summer from industry and all | :10:35. | :10:39.
the people I have spoken to, they regard enterprise zones as a real | :10:39. | :10:43.
focal point for them. There is the issue of capital allowances which | :10:43. | :10:46.
has to be agreed with the government and we have ongoing | :10:46. | :10:49.
discussions there but this is the point of getting the businesses | :10:49. | :10:53.
together, how we can look at the training agenda and how they can | :10:53. | :10:59.
stack up everything else we can do in Wales. In terms of the | :10:59. | :11:04.
automotive, this has come too late, we have had news of Wales has lost | :11:04. | :11:10.
out in the Jaguar plant. That has to do with enterprise zones. We had | :11:10. | :11:13.
positive discussions with the company. If you look at Jaguar | :11:13. | :11:21.
Rover, they are ready end the air. I'm disappointed we were not in the | :11:21. | :11:25.
end game but and delighted they have come dupe the country as a | :11:25. | :11:33.
whole. How close to become? I won't go into the details but it is | :11:33. | :11:36.
important to look at what we are going to do with our supply chain | :11:36. | :11:40.
for this development and have all those positive discussions. | :11:40. | :11:46.
more details are yet to come. They were let through the fine print on | :11:46. | :11:50.
this but we have an announcement that five enterprise zones in five | :11:50. | :11:54.
different sectors will get a variety of tax breaks and | :11:54. | :12:04.
incentives to try and improve the economy. | :12:04. | :12:07.
The jury at an inquest into the death of a 49 year-old steelworker | :12:07. | :12:10.
in Port Talbot has returned a verdict of accidental death. Kevin | :12:10. | :12:13.
Downey fell from a veranda at the Corus Steelworks in Port Talbot in | :12:13. | :12:17.
April 2006 and fell into a channel of molten metal slag. He was pulled | :12:17. | :12:20.
out but died later the same day. The Welsh government has ordered | :12:20. | :12:22.
that fare increases for rail passengers here will be lower than | :12:22. | :12:25.
those in England next year. Fares on Arriva Trains Wales services | :12:25. | :12:28.
will only go up by 1% above inflation next year. Those across | :12:28. | :12:38.
:12:38. | :12:41. | ||
the border will rise by 3%. A tanker and a fishing vessel have | :12:41. | :12:43.
collided 20 miles off Anglesey. Holyhead coastguards were called to | :12:43. | :12:46.
the incident early this morning. The fishing boat was damaged but | :12:46. | :12:49.
its crew of three were uninjured and there are no pollution issues. | :12:49. | :12:52.
One of the Liberal Democrats' Welsh MPs claimed his party is reigning | :12:52. | :12:54.
in the Conservative coalition partners. Mark Williams was | :12:54. | :12:56.
speaking at the Lib Dem conference in Birmingham. Our Parliamentary | :12:56. | :13:05.
Correspondent is there. It is no secret that Welsh Liberal | :13:05. | :13:10.
Democrat MPs have at times been uncomfortable with the Conservative | :13:10. | :13:15.
lead coalition at Westminster. But they argue that they are making a | :13:15. | :13:24.
difference in important policy areas. Virtual darts, one way of | :13:24. | :13:31.
taking out the frustration of a coalition government. Here, | :13:31. | :13:35.
companies and charities try to get their message across and the Lib | :13:35. | :13:38.
Dems try to focus on delivery, even if some of the things they signed | :13:38. | :13:44.
before the election have been torn up in government. Are the pledges | :13:44. | :13:49.
worth the paper they are written on? Through the mud and the blood, | :13:49. | :13:56.
to the green fields above, that is where we are going. Mixed news for | :13:56. | :14:05.
one Welsh MP. I have sold four of his badges. Mark Williams believes | :14:05. | :14:09.
coalition government can be tapped for the junior partners. My job and | :14:09. | :14:14.
our job as a Welsh party is within that context to be standing for | :14:14. | :14:17.
Wales and standing up for our constituents to temper those | :14:17. | :14:22.
decisions. The health reform for example don't affect my | :14:22. | :14:28.
constituents. They have been concerns and I like to think that | :14:28. | :14:32.
they have been tempered by a Conservative Party. The conference | :14:32. | :14:36.
is also a chance for a Ms to tell the Deputy Prime Minister where he | :14:36. | :14:40.
is going wrong. Is there enough space to tell them what she really | :14:40. | :14:47.
think? Nick knows what I think. Tubing he listens to the was party? | :14:47. | :14:53.
He does, to be fair. When we speak to him, he has changed policy and | :14:53. | :14:58.
done things when we have asked him to. His plea for rail | :14:58. | :15:04.
electrification of the Swansea has fallen on deaf ears. Nick Clegg | :15:04. | :15:07.
delivers his keynote speech to the conference on Wednesday when | :15:08. | :15:11.
delegates will also hear from the leader of the Welsh Liberal | :15:11. | :15:18.
Much more to come before 7pm. The company behind plans to build a | :15:18. | :15:21.
waste incinerator here has a history of breaking environmental | :15:21. | :15:27.
regulations in the States. And, they drew a blank in their | :15:27. | :15:31.
first four games. This is what it means to Swansea City, as they | :15:31. | :15:37.
celebrate their first win in the The company behind plans to build a | :15:37. | :15:40.
waste incinerator on the outskirts of Merthyr Tydfil has a history of | :15:41. | :15:43.
breaking environmental regulations in the United states. An | :15:43. | :15:46.
investigation by BBC Wales has found that Covanta Energy has paid | :15:46. | :15:48.
$400,000 of penalties, after its incinerator in Connecticut emitted | :15:48. | :15:51.
over double the permissible levels of dioxins. The company has denied | :15:52. | :16:01.
:16:02. | :16:07. | ||
any risk to health. It is a stringent regime which | :16:07. | :16:13.
helps keep her alive, 10 tablets each morning for a serious lung | :16:13. | :16:18.
condition. She lives five miles from a site where the American | :16:18. | :16:22.
company COMMENTARY: Was to live one of the biggest waste energy | :16:22. | :16:26.
facilities in Britain. She is worried the emissions could damage | :16:26. | :16:32.
had already fragile health. Findings have found the damage from | :16:32. | :16:37.
pollution to people with my condition is permanent. This is a | :16:37. | :16:41.
danger to me personally. Even though the company denies health | :16:41. | :16:49.
risks, two wigs ago campaigners took a petition to Downing Street | :16:49. | :16:54.
calling on the UK Government to reject the application. The debate | :16:54. | :17:01.
about the pros and cons of building a waste incinerator may be a fairly | :17:01. | :17:05.
new in Merthyr Tydfil, but in the US the issue has been a hot potato | :17:05. | :17:15.
:17:15. | :17:16. | ||
for decades. An imposing neighbour, this incinerator Great's | :17:16. | :17:19.
electricity. Recently, the company shut down part of its plant | :17:19. | :17:26.
following a series of problems. magnitude of the violation, the | :17:26. | :17:35.
dioxins emitted were 2.5 times than that in the 2007 instant. Two | :17:35. | :17:40.
violations within three years. company had to pay $400,000 in | :17:40. | :17:49.
penalties. We set about making sure that we corrected the problem, we | :17:49. | :17:53.
were the ones in both cases who discovered the problem, reported it | :17:53. | :17:57.
and set about fixing it. company claims the proposed plant | :17:57. | :18:02.
in Wales is not only one of the cleanest and safest ways of getting | :18:02. | :18:08.
rid of waste but will boost the local economy. Opponents point to | :18:08. | :18:11.
the company's record in America and are warning it is a taste of things | :18:11. | :18:14.
to come. More on that story in the BBC's | :18:14. | :18:18.
Taro Naw, tonight at 9.30pm, on S4C. Another bruising battle for Wales. | :18:19. | :18:24.
Claire's here with tonight's sport. Good evening. | :18:24. | :18:28.
In the end, Wales got the win. And took a huge step towards the | :18:28. | :18:31.
quarter finals. But it was certainly a battle, and one that | :18:31. | :18:34.
has cost Wales on the injury front. Martyn Williams won't be one player | :18:34. | :18:37.
flying out. Confirmation today he broken his arm playing against | :18:37. | :18:45.
Ulster on Friday. From New Zealand, here's Gareth Lewis. | :18:45. | :18:49.
After the win which keeps Wells on track, an unwelcome diversion, | :18:49. | :18:58.
major injury concerns, Lydiate, and James Hook. Wales are still not | :18:58. | :19:02.
sure how bad Lydiate is hurt but the news on James Hook is not | :19:02. | :19:12.
:19:12. | :19:20. | ||
encouraging. It means two or three weeks for him. Wales had all to do | :19:20. | :19:28.
after the second half. The resolute Welsh defence K -- kept Samoa | :19:28. | :19:34.
without a score. Halfpenny in particular caught the eye. I can be | :19:34. | :19:41.
happier for him. He has had horrific injuries. It can knock | :19:41. | :19:51.
:19:51. | :19:51. | ||
your spirit. I thought he was absolutely a huge difference. | :19:51. | :19:59.
gruelling two weeks spent on a training camp in Poland. We were | :19:59. | :20:07.
cursing the coach. As soon as those England games came, the difference | :20:07. | :20:12.
was marked. We still felt fresh. The skill level remained high. | :20:12. | :20:20.
Defence, a concentration was up there. Hopefully that will help us. | :20:20. | :20:24.
Where else are delighted with the when, where there is room for | :20:24. | :20:29.
improvement but confident women Against Samoa, Lydiate -- of | :20:30. | :20:38.
Namibia and Fiji are on the horizon. They don't know exactly yet, the | :20:38. | :20:47.
Wales camp. Lydiate has hurt his ankle, James Hook his shoulder. | :20:47. | :20:52.
With James Hook, they suspect a three-week lay-off. It means he | :20:52. | :20:58.
will come back in the knockout stages. If and when Wales go that | :20:58. | :21:05.
far. Do you think with the next game at Namibia there will be major | :21:05. | :21:09.
changes or will Warren Gatland want to keep things the same? There will | :21:09. | :21:16.
be definite changes, Jones made a comeback. Nursing a calf injury. | :21:16. | :21:23.
Other players need a run-out in this game. It goes without saying | :21:23. | :21:29.
Wells will beat Namibia. He needs to get them playing rugby in case | :21:30. | :21:39.
Wales' progress further. A decent change. We don't want to tempt fate. | :21:39. | :21:43.
The whole route to the final should Wells get there, it has been turned | :21:43. | :21:49.
on its head. Quite a match. The Kiwis are thoroughly enjoyed | :21:49. | :21:54.
Australia getting a beating. From a Welsh perspective, it has opened it | :21:54. | :22:01.
up. Wales could avoid all of the Tri Nations teams. Ireland are | :22:01. | :22:11.
:22:11. | :22:17. | ||
probable quarter-finalists. England and France. None of the Games will | :22:17. | :22:24.
be easy. Let us keep our fingers crossed. | :22:24. | :22:28.
Did you get up in the early hours to watch Wales? For many of us, it | :22:28. | :22:32.
was high drama in pyjamas. And for others, it meant going out for a | :22:32. | :22:35.
very early breakfast. Cemlyn Davies set his alarm, to watch in | :22:35. | :22:42.
Aberystwyth. It has just gone 4:00am on Sunday. | :22:42. | :22:47.
It is called, dark and raining. Who on earth would come out at this | :22:47. | :22:54.
time to watch a game of rugby? For these fans, missing the match was | :22:54. | :23:03.
never an option. It has got to be them. Once every four years, you | :23:03. | :23:11.
have to make the effort. We are snowed under. Everyone is watching. | :23:11. | :23:14.
And so to the game itself. After plenty of agony, finally some | :23:14. | :23:19.
ecstasy, as Shane Williams secured a Welsh win. So was the match worth | :23:19. | :23:29.
:23:29. | :23:31. | ||
staying awake for? Yes, of course! As opposed it is a case of All's | :23:31. | :23:34.
Well That Ends Well. A game certainly worth getting up for, or | :23:34. | :23:43.
as was the case, worth staying up for. Now I am back off to bed. | :23:43. | :23:46.
The Swansea City are celebrating a first Premier League win - and | :23:46. | :23:50.
breaking their duck in front of goal, with a 3-nil victory over | :23:50. | :23:53.
West Brom. But like the Welsh rugby team, in New Zealand, they too | :23:53. | :23:56.
wanted to mark the recent mining tragedy, which had happened only | :23:57. | :23:59.
ten miles from their ground. Here's Ashleigh Crowter. | :23:59. | :24:03.
Some things are just much more important than football. A moment | :24:03. | :24:05.
of pre-match reflection to remember the families of the Gleision | :24:05. | :24:08.
Colliery miners. A young fan tragically killed. And also the | :24:08. | :24:11.
recent passing of Brendan Rodgers' father. It put everything into | :24:11. | :24:19.
perspective. Swansea hadn't scored in four matches. And they said | :24:19. | :24:26.
there was no panic. Certainly, when the chance to score their first | :24:26. | :24:29.
top-flight goal came along, Scott Sinclair couldn't have been cooler. | :24:29. | :24:32.
He'll go down in history as the first man to score a Premier League | :24:33. | :24:36.
goal outside of England. Everything went the Swans' way on Saturday. A | :24:36. | :24:43.
set-play corner was executed to perfect. -- perfection. Leroy Lita | :24:43. | :24:47.
showing how much it meant to him to score his first goal for his new | :24:47. | :24:50.
club. And it was Lita's flick-on early in the second half which put | :24:51. | :24:54.
Nathan Dyer in for the third. It was an occasion to lift an area | :24:54. | :25:02.
which had seen so much recent heartache. For today's performers | :25:02. | :25:08.
it will give a lot of hope to those people who are sad. It is this | :25:08. | :25:12.
special part of the world. There was a minute's silence too before | :25:12. | :25:16.
Cardiff's match at Blackpool. It was the first time the sides had | :25:16. | :25:19.
met since the 2010 play-off final. And Cardiff deserved to take the | :25:19. | :25:21.
lead, with Don Cowie's excellent header. But Blackpool grabbed | :25:21. | :25:25.
themselves a point that maybe they didn't serve, thanks to veteran | :25:25. | :25:32.
striker Kevin Phillips. I thought we were magnificent today, we | :25:32. | :25:37.
played so well. 26 attempts on goal. At times, I | :25:37. | :25:40.
was really delighted with the way we played. | :25:40. | :25:44.
The Not a good weekend though for the two Welsh clubs in the Blue | :25:44. | :25:46.
Square Bet Premier. High-flying Wrexham and strugglers Newport | :25:46. | :25:55.
Derek's here with the forecast. A miserable day today? Not a great | :25:55. | :25:58.
start to the week. Changeable over the next couple of | :25:58. | :26:08.
:26:08. | :26:11. | ||
day. Some rain. Brisk winds, and a little sunshine as well. | :26:12. | :26:19.
Temperatures down to 12 Celsius. A damp start for the South, most of | :26:19. | :26:25.
Powys. Poor visibility. In the north, the rain should clear by | :26:25. | :26:35.
:26:35. | :26:37. | ||
this time. Fairly cloudy, brighter skies for Anglesey. More on the | :26:37. | :26:42.
country will end up dry. The North ending up with some sunshine | :26:42. | :26:52.
especially in the north west. Top temperatures 15 to 17 Celsius, | :26:52. | :26:55.
with a light to moderate breeze. In the county of Newport tomorrow: | :26:55. | :26:58.
Cloudy with rain. Temperatures in Goldcliff, 17 Celsius. Tomorrow | :26:58. | :27:01.
evening, rain in the south east will clear, leaving a dry night. | :27:01. | :27:04.
Wednesday: Generally drier with sunny intervals and the odd shower. | :27:04. | :27:07.
The wind picking up, becoming fresh to strong. Near gale force in the | :27:07. | :27:11.
north west. After some rain tonight and in the south tomorrow, the next | :27:11. | :27:14.
few days are drier, bar the odd shower. Wednesday is the windiest | :27:15. | :27:18.
day. Most of Friday is dry, but we may see some rain overnight into | :27:18. | :27:24.
The families of the four miners killed in the Gleision Colliery, in | :27:24. | :27:26.
the Swansea Valley, have paid tribute to the men. | :27:26. | :27:29.
A fund set up to support the relatives has already reached | :27:29. | :27:37.
55,000. The bravery of the rescuers has | :27:37. | :27:42.
also been praised. We are going to do this investigation properly, | :27:42. | :27:46.
everyone expects but from ours and I can assure everyone we will get | :27:46. | :27:56.
