Welcome to Wales Today. Tonight's headlines: Experts give conflicting | :00:04. | :00:08.
evidence into the death of spy, Gareth Williams. One claims a third | :00:08. | :00:12.
party must have been involved in putting him inside a sports bag. On | :00:12. | :00:22.
:00:22. | :00:31. | ||
300 attempts they could not lock It has been a day that stirred up | :00:31. | :00:34.
strong memories. The tragedy of Aberfan stunned the world almost 50 | :00:34. | :00:38.
years ago. Today, the Queen returned to meet mothers who lost | :00:38. | :00:47.
their children. She has been down here three times. | :00:47. | :00:54.
It was nice to think she has not forgotten us. | :00:54. | :00:58.
She ended the day he at this estate after an earlier stopper in Ebbw | :00:58. | :01:03.
Vale. There she said the people of Wales had a remarkable spirit. | :01:03. | :01:07.
Prince Philip and I have shared many of the joys and sadnesses of | :01:07. | :01:13.
the Welsh people in that time. We have always been struck by a sense | :01:13. | :01:18.
of pride and undimmed optimism. Also tonight - Taken apart piece by | :01:18. | :01:21.
piece. The cargo ship that ran aground off Colwyn Bay, hardly | :01:21. | :01:24.
recognisable three weeks on. He was responsible for developing | :01:24. | :01:28.
future Welsh football stars. Brian Flynn is axed from coaching the | :01:28. | :01:38.
:01:38. | :01:40. | ||
His body was found padlock inside a sports bag. Today, the inquest into | :01:40. | :01:43.
the death of Welsh MI6 officer, Gareth Williams, has heard from two | :01:43. | :01:46.
expert witnesses who tried hundreds of times to lock themselves into a | :01:46. | :01:52.
similar bag and failed. One of those witnesses said he believed a | :01:52. | :01:55.
third party could have been involved and that Mr Williams might | :01:55. | :01:59.
have been dead or unconscious when he was placed in the bag. A little | :01:59. | :02:02.
earlier, I spoke to our reporter Aled Huw who has been following | :02:02. | :02:04.
today's proceedings. I began by asking him about the video footage | :02:04. | :02:09.
that was shown in court. They day's proceedings have been | :02:09. | :02:12.
dominated by the evidence of two expert bag witnesses and the videos | :02:12. | :02:14.
they produced of men of Gareth Williams's stature climbing inside | :02:14. | :02:23.
an identical bag and trying to lock it from the inside. Recreating, if | :02:23. | :02:26.
you like, the scenario in which his body was found in his flat in | :02:26. | :02:36.
:02:36. | :02:37. | ||
The experts accepted Gareth Williams was a very fit young man | :02:37. | :02:41.
but they trirs to put the padlock in place more than 100 times and | :02:41. | :02:43.
did not manage to do so without somebody else's assistance. | :02:43. | :02:46.
Early in the week the court had heard another person's DNA had been | :02:46. | :02:49.
found present in the back. Fractions of DNA from another | :02:49. | :02:58.
person on the zip and on the lock itself. The second video, the | :02:58. | :03:01.
experts had been tasked to get into the bag inside the bath. His | :03:01. | :03:04.
opinion, expert opinion, was the fact that this would not have been | :03:04. | :03:07.
able to be achieved without Gareth Williams leaving a trail on the | :03:07. | :03:13.
walls and on the side of the bath itself. In his opinion, Gareth | :03:13. | :03:16.
Williams's body had been placed in the bag and that bag lifted inside | :03:16. | :03:22.
the bath. He was of the view that if Gareth was conscious and wanted | :03:22. | :03:26.
to get out of the bag then he could have ripped the zip open at any | :03:26. | :03:29.
time. How have Gareth Williams's family | :03:29. | :03:34.
reacted to what they heard in court today? | :03:34. | :03:40.
This has been a very distressing week for the family. His parents | :03:40. | :03:43.
and his sister have been here for most of the week listening to some | :03:43. | :03:49.
very difficult, personal evidence. Quite understandably, at times, | :03:49. | :03:54.
they have been very distressed. Today has been a very difficult day | :03:54. | :03:59.
for them. They have had to cope with this experience in the glare | :03:59. | :04:06.
of the world's media as well. One can only guess that it has added | :04:06. | :04:16.
:04:16. | :04:33. | ||
again to their sense of loss and grief. Many thanks. | :04:33. | :04:38.
The Queen visited Aberfan today. In a year packed with celebrations | :04:38. | :04:44.
in her honour a poignant moment as the Queen arrived in Aberfan. | :04:44. | :04:47.
Accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh she came to open a new | :04:47. | :04:52.
school. It is the Queen's fourth visit here. Clearly moved by what | :04:52. | :04:56.
she witnessed when she came a week after the disaster she pledged then | :04:56. | :05:00.
to come back. During an hour long visit today she met with survivors | :05:00. | :05:09.
and bereaved families. 44 years ago she promised were -- | :05:09. | :05:16.
she promised me that if there was a new school built she would open it. | :05:16. | :05:20.
It is nice to think she has not forgotten it. It is a good many | :05:20. | :05:25.
years as the disaster happened. She has been down here three times. It | :05:25. | :05:29.
was nice to think share -- and she has not forgotten us. When the tip | :05:29. | :05:33.
slid down the hill covering Pant Glas school it claimed the lives of | :05:33. | :05:41.
116 children and 28 adults. The news shook the world. With the | :05:41. | :05:46.
shovels and when necessary, bare hands, they pitted themselves | :05:46. | :05:49.
against the slime and filth. And it changed for ever the lives of those | :05:49. | :05:53.
left behind. Among them the boy whose white hair helped rescuers | :05:53. | :05:58.
spot him in the darkness one of the last two children pulled out alive. | :05:58. | :06:02.
Jeff Edwards told me after that for him today was about showing the | :06:02. | :06:05.
world that despite trauma there is a future and there is hope, but a | :06:05. | :06:14.
difficult day nonetheless. It was very emotional. It is very | :06:14. | :06:17.
difficult to get through the line of people that I had to introduce | :06:17. | :06:22.
to the Queen. It was only when the helicopter was taking up that the | :06:22. | :06:26.
emotion really hit home. But it really seeing young children of my | :06:26. | :06:30.
age who would have died in the disaster. It was a very emotional | :06:30. | :06:34.
thing for me. It was of course children who were the focus of her | :06:34. | :06:37.
visit here today. The current generation played and sang for her | :06:37. | :06:47.
:06:47. | :06:49. | ||
and she spoke to them. You don't have to do anything about | :06:49. | :06:55.
it. That is marvellous. She asked me about the rain water that is | :06:55. | :07:00.
collected on the roof. It was very nervous but we were very excited. | :07:00. | :07:05.
And happy. I was astonished that she wanted to come and they think | :07:06. | :07:11.
she looked very, very nice. makes children think more about how | :07:11. | :07:15.
lucky we are because we are in a privileged position. She does not | :07:15. | :07:19.
go to all schools on the fact she chosen to come to us, it makes us | :07:19. | :07:25.
feel very special indeed. It has been a time for reflection | :07:26. | :07:29.
certainly but also an opportunity to have played the way for future | :07:29. | :07:39.
:07:39. | :07:44. | ||
of Aberfan. For the families, they told me she will visit. | :07:44. | :07:47.
The European Commission has issued a formal notice, over what it says, | :07:47. | :07:50.
is a failure to comply with safety rules concerning Liquified Natural | :07:50. | :07:53.
Gas tankers at Milford Haven. The Commission is concerned about the | :07:53. | :07:55.
assessment of potential risks from tankers approaching and berthing at | :07:55. | :08:00.
the port. Our business correspondent Nick Servini is here. | :08:00. | :08:05.
Teller's a bit more about this. How significant is it? This is a | :08:05. | :08:10.
preliminary step that could end up in European Court of Justice if the | :08:10. | :08:16.
member state has not complied with what has been sacked. A spokesman | :08:16. | :08:20.
says the failure as the assessment of potential risks of these tankers | :08:20. | :08:24.
approaching and berthing at Milford Haven and under EU rules those have | :08:24. | :08:28.
to be assessed and the findings have to be made public. A quick | :08:28. | :08:33.
reminder of what is at stake. A huge tankers from the Midland -- | :08:33. | :08:37.
from the Middle East have come into Milford Haven. In a two terminals | :08:37. | :08:45.
and then they go into the UK gas network. Campaigners have been | :08:46. | :08:50.
Against this process ever since it was proposed. They say there is a | :08:50. | :08:54.
risk of a collision or image incident from humming such such a | :08:54. | :08:59.
flammable substance coming in. Those risks have not been | :08:59. | :09:03.
investigated extensively enough, according to them. Today's note is | :09:03. | :09:07.
is a result of campaigners fining a petition with the European | :09:07. | :09:13.
Parliament. The main group is called the Sea Haven group. This is | :09:13. | :09:18.
a fantastic say -- step for us because we're in campaigning for 10 | :09:18. | :09:22.
years for the risk assessment to be done and made public. This is a | :09:22. | :09:27.
very positive step because it is something the UK Government can not | :09:27. | :09:32.
ignore. Has there been at the reaction? We have had a statement | :09:32. | :09:35.
from the Milford Haven Port Authority and it says over a number | :09:35. | :09:39.
of years it had commissioned and produced excessive risk assessment | :09:39. | :09:44.
in full compliance with all UK safety standards, LNG vessels are | :09:44. | :09:47.
regularly and safely handle at the port. | :09:47. | :09:49.
Police say no crime has been committed after they investigated a | :09:49. | :09:52.
complaint that a Labour candidate standing for the Splott ward in the | :09:52. | :09:55.
Cardiff council elections gave a false address on his registration | :09:55. | :09:59.
form. Luke Holland lives in a neighbouring ward but says he's in | :09:59. | :10:04.
the process of buying a house in Splott. | :10:04. | :10:07.
A new Chief Medical Officer has been appointed for Wales to replace | :10:07. | :10:10.
Dr Tony Jewell when he retires in September. Dr Ruth Hussey, who is | :10:10. | :10:13.
originally from north Wales, is currently working with the | :10:13. | :10:23.
:10:23. | :10:24. | ||
Department of Health in England. Six members of a drugs gang who | :10:24. | :10:27.
tried to flood the valleys, with 1.7 million worth of cannabis, | :10:27. | :10:30.
have been jailed for a total of 23 years. Police say 32-year-old Ryan | :10:30. | :10:33.
Davies from Ystrad was the controller at the South Wales end | :10:33. | :10:36.
of the distribution chain. This drugs conspiracy begins far | :10:36. | :10:39.
from the south Wales valleys here in Barcelona back in March last | :10:39. | :10:43.
year. Spanish customs officials discovered more than 400 kilos of | :10:43. | :10:48.
cannabis hidden in sandstone pillars destined for the UK. They | :10:48. | :10:51.
took the drugs out and working with the British authorities sent the | :10:51. | :11:01.
consignment on its way to try and follow the chain. It went to a fake | :11:01. | :11:04.
building company in London and then the lorry was driven along the M4 | :11:04. | :11:07.
to south Wales. Its final destination Mountain Ash to be sold | :11:07. | :11:10.
on the streets of the Rhondda and the Cynon Valleys. They set about | :11:10. | :11:13.
smashing the stone pillars with sledgehammers to get at the 413 | :11:13. | :11:19.
kilos of cannabis resin. They were horrified to find it was not there. | :11:19. | :11:23.
The court heard there was a flurry of telephone activity and then they | :11:23. | :11:29.
fled. They were apprehended by the police in their lorry as they | :11:29. | :11:32.
travelled to was Pontypridd. 32- year-old Ryan Davies from Ystrad in | :11:32. | :11:35.
the Rhondda, known locally as Mamsy, was jailed today for six years. He | :11:35. | :11:39.
was said to be the co-ordinator at the South Wales end. Keith Dobson | :11:39. | :11:42.
from London has also been sentenced to six years for arranging the | :11:42. | :11:46.
importation of the drugs. And Barry Butler from Kent was sentenced to | :11:46. | :11:53.
five years for collecting the lorry and driving it to South Wales. | :11:53. | :12:00.
that is a major haul cannabis. As I said, it is not just the drug | :12:00. | :12:06.
itself that is a devastating effect at as on a community with a crime. | :12:06. | :12:12.
As stopping that has stopped crying -- and no end of crime. In total | :12:12. | :12:15.
eight others from Mountain Ash, Porth and Ystrad were jailed or | :12:15. | :12:17.
received suspended sentences for their part in this conspiracy to | :12:17. | :12:24.
supply drugs. The judge said they were playing for high stakes. It | :12:24. | :12:30.
was obviously well planned, and sophisticated operation. He said | :12:30. | :12:34.
all those who willingly play a part in the distribution of illicit | :12:35. | :12:44.
:12:45. | :12:52. | ||
drugs must expect to lose their liberty. The MV Carrier was so | :12:52. | :12:57.
badly damaged she had become impossible to sell but intact. | :12:57. | :13:06.
We can return now to the Queen's Alarm the have been taking the ship | :13:06. | :13:11.
apart piece by piece. At has not been altogether easy. Around two- | :13:11. | :13:15.
thirds of the MV Carrier has gone and the contract to say they are | :13:15. | :13:20.
ahead of schedule. We have removed the wheel house, the canteen, the | :13:20. | :13:25.
crew's accommodation. We're working on the engine rooms. That will be | :13:25. | :13:30.
next week. We can't get any position of the beach at all due to | :13:30. | :13:35.
the tidal conditions. Next week we are hoping to remove the engineer | :13:35. | :13:41.
Rea, the generators etc and then we can proceed to cut it up and remove | :13:41. | :13:46.
it. It is three weeks since the MV Carrier ran aground. An | :13:46. | :13:50.
investigation into what happened is being carried out. Buffeted by high | :13:50. | :13:56.
winds and massive waves, search and rescue helicopters winched the crew | :13:56. | :13:59.
to safety. It has not until the next day the amount of damage to | :13:59. | :14:04.
the ship became apparent. She has had to be broken up when she made. | :14:04. | :14:07.
The rudder was damaged and or the man to India for the rudder. The | :14:08. | :14:13.
main prop shaft was bent. The tank's underneath had been seized | :14:13. | :14:20.
the hold. It had been bashed and bends. We could not salvage it. | :14:20. | :14:23.
work is expected to last another four weeks but that is weather | :14:23. | :14:28.
permitting. It is a complex job, the experts say. | :14:28. | :14:31.
We can return it to the Queen's visit to Wales. She ended her trip | :14:31. | :14:34.
with an event especially organised to celebrate her diamond jubilee. | :14:34. | :14:40.
Lucy is there for us tonight and can tell us more. They have been | :14:40. | :14:47.
holding diamonds in the park on this estate. Builders and clearing | :14:47. | :14:52.
away now. You can see tents are still up. There were stalls and | :14:52. | :14:57.
lots of activity going on. Something for all the family. Take | :14:57. | :15:01.
a look at that field, look how much the it is. The rain came down this | :15:02. | :15:06.
afternoon. It was not at all the when the Queen and the Duke of | :15:06. | :15:16.
:15:16. | :15:18. | ||
Edinburgh were here. They had a look around. However, before they | :15:18. | :15:22.
came the Duke of Edinburgh visited Ebbw Vale. Rebecca John has been | :15:22. | :15:27.
following their visit. This was the Queen's first visit to | :15:27. | :15:31.
Ebbw Vale. It was here, after a service at Christ Church, that she | :15:31. | :15:38.
made her only speech of this Diamond Jubilee visit. After the | :15:38. | :15:42.
close of the steelworks a decade ago, we have admired the fortitude | :15:42. | :15:46.
and resilience of Ebbw Vale as you have tackle the social and economic | :15:47. | :15:52.
struggle that followed. Prince Philip and I were reminded this | :15:52. | :15:57.
morning of those extraordinary challenges and were deeply | :15:57. | :16:01.
impressed and heartened by the sure signs of better times to come. | :16:01. | :16:04.
of the many people who met the Queen here today was Maud | :16:04. | :16:06.
Baskerville. She's attended Christ Church since she was christened | :16:06. | :16:14.
there 101 years ago.. Five generations of her family The Queen | :16:14. | :16:17.
then went on a walkabout outside the church, much to the delight of | :16:17. | :16:22.
those who'd been waiting. Very, very good. An end to a near efforts | :16:22. | :16:32.
to I can't think it anything better now. The Queen went on walkabout | :16:32. | :16:36.
outside the judge. Prince Philip asked doesn't which | :16:37. | :16:44.
school we were from and he shook our hands and everything was up I | :16:44. | :16:53.
was up in London for the coronation. It is lovely to see her again! | :16:53. | :16:56.
Earlier today, the Queen officially opened the General Offices of the | :16:56. | :17:00.
former steelworks. It's now a genealogy and family history centre | :17:00. | :17:06.
which houses the Gwent Archives and the Steelworks Archive Trust. The | :17:06. | :17:09.
Queen talked to a group of former steelworkers who spent their whole | :17:09. | :17:12.
careers working on this site in Ebbw Vale, before it closed 10 | :17:12. | :17:17.
years ago. They showed the Queen how the Coronation was celebrated | :17:17. | :17:26.
here 60 years ago. From the 1970s onwards, it was a | :17:26. | :17:31.
difficult period of Ebbw Vale. I don't think we have recovered since | :17:31. | :17:39.
then. It is important to know the royal family appreciates | :17:39. | :17:44.
difficulties that people have Indesit here. The Queen and the | :17:44. | :17:47.
Duke of Edinburgh ended their two day visit at a country fair at the | :17:47. | :17:50.
Glanusk Estate near Crickhowell. It was the most informal part of the | :17:50. | :17:53.
tour and the Queen seemed to enjoy viewing some traditional rural | :17:53. | :18:00.
pursuits. The event aimed to reflect the best of Powys. Some of | :18:00. | :18:03.
the Welsh rugby squad and coaching staff were also there, more used to | :18:03. | :18:10.
mud than the Queen. But it didn't put her off. The royal couple have | :18:10. | :18:14.
left Wales but they have many more mines to travel as they Jubilee | :18:14. | :18:24.
:18:24. | :18:27. | ||
tour continues. Joining me today is the organiser of the event. If they | :18:27. | :18:32.
can turn to you, did the weather put a dampener on things? It did | :18:32. | :18:36.
not put a dampener on things other than physically. We were delighted | :18:36. | :18:44.
we the ground. We had planned for 10-15,000. We know very fact that | :18:44. | :18:49.
5,000 school children booked in and day of the school had booked in | :18:49. | :18:54.
turned up. In his period, we are used to inclement weather. It is a | :18:54. | :18:59.
golden opportunity for them to come here. He visited the Queen. She | :18:59. | :19:06.
likes to come here. You hosted the event at your estate. What was the | :19:06. | :19:13.
idea behind it? Buckingham Palace asked us to represent our county in | :19:13. | :19:20.
some form or other. Having then a similar event 10 years ago for the | :19:20. | :19:28.
Golden Jubilee, we sat around the kitchen table with several people | :19:28. | :19:34.
and said let's do diamonds in the park. It was a very relaxed sense | :19:34. | :19:40.
here. It seemed buried and formal. You know why? Because we don't have | :19:40. | :19:46.
barriers. If you have an event enrol a area that is not a full | :19:46. | :19:51.
public in delight in a town or city, we did not have any barriers. That | :19:51. | :19:56.
creates a warmer, friendlier atmosphere. Very briefly, you know | :19:56. | :20:01.
the family well. What has the Queen is said to you about the visit? | :20:01. | :20:06.
thing she was very touched by the enormous amount of affection and | :20:06. | :20:10.
welcome she received and enjoyed it quite enormously. Thank you both | :20:11. | :20:16.
very much. Despite the weather at the stalls were busy this afternoon | :20:16. | :20:21.
and businesses across wears a try to take advantage of the diamond | :20:21. | :20:26.
and -- diamond jubilee celebrations. But some are warning that a cluster | :20:26. | :20:31.
of bank holidays could damage the economy. | :20:31. | :20:35.
At her kitchen in Cardiff, this woman is creating new recipes for | :20:35. | :20:41.
some very special treats. These are her prototype Jubilee cupcakes. | :20:41. | :20:48.
Come that you buy a holiday they will be sold. | :20:48. | :20:54.
Having this extra bank holiday makes any local business thrive. It | :20:54. | :21:01.
is an opportunity to celebrate this rare occasion and for myself, I am | :21:01. | :21:07.
hosting a tea party on night duty the weekend. It is something which | :21:07. | :21:11.
people are looking to do something. It is a great opportunity to | :21:11. | :21:16.
celebrate. Men need businesses are producing the no memorabilia to | :21:16. | :21:20.
mark the Diamond Jubilee producing everything from cooking stew plates | :21:20. | :21:27.
and mugs. Businesses expect their profits to increase but it %, there | :21:27. | :21:30.
are warnings that not every business will be able to have its | :21:30. | :21:35.
cake and eat it. Last year, Britain had an extra day have to celebrate | :21:35. | :21:39.
the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Federation of | :21:39. | :21:43.
Small Businesses estimates that it is not an collared a amongst a | :21:43. | :21:47.
cluster of other bank holidays cost the UK economy around 6 billion. | :21:47. | :21:51.
Recent figures from the centre of Economics and business Research | :21:51. | :21:59.
estimates that each and, big cost the UK to 0.3 billion. One expert | :21:59. | :22:03.
says the problem does not come from the bank holiday but where it is | :22:03. | :22:10.
being placed in the current -- calendar. It comes then he quickly | :22:10. | :22:14.
after the bank holidays. They tend to cluster the bank holidays around | :22:14. | :22:22.
Easter, May and June. Clustering them in this way does tend to | :22:22. | :22:31.
enhance the costs of the shutdowns. But for business is like this when | :22:31. | :22:34.
that private as well occasions the proof of whether the Diamond | :22:34. | :22:40.
Jubilee is a good many spin on it will be in the tasting. -- money | :22:40. | :22:50.
:22:50. | :22:53. | ||
spinner. The day's sport now and in football | :22:54. | :22:57.
Wales are looking for a new coach for the Under-21s. It follows the | :22:57. | :23:00.
news that Brian Flynn will not be offered a new contract once his | :23:00. | :23:03.
deal expires next month. No reason has been given by the Football | :23:03. | :23:06.
Association of Wales for the decision. With more on that and a | :23:06. | :23:09.
look ahead to an important weekend for Cardiff City, here's Sachin | :23:09. | :23:10.
Krishnan. Cardiff City have experienced their | :23:10. | :23:13.
fair share of play-off heartache in recent seasons. Tomorrow, they know | :23:13. | :23:16.
a draw will almost certainly be enough against Crystal Palace to | :23:16. | :23:18.
guarantee their spot in the Championship play-offs. Defeat and | :23:18. | :23:21.
a win for Middlesbrough at Watford will consign the Bluebirds to | :23:21. | :23:24.
another season in the second tier. What we like to focus on is their | :23:24. | :23:32.
game against Crystal Palace. That is what our players can be involved | :23:32. | :23:36.
in. Anything other than that is a distraction. | :23:36. | :23:38.
By contrast, Swansea City's recent experience of the play-offs cannot | :23:38. | :23:41.
be more different to their near neighbours. An impressive first | :23:41. | :23:44.
season in the Premier League is coming to an end. Already relegated | :23:44. | :23:46.
Wolves are the visitors to the Liberty Stadium tomorrow. | :23:46. | :23:54.
The players are working hard. We push them every day to be better. | :23:54. | :23:58.
They are thirsty to improve and learn. We're going to this game | :23:58. | :24:01.
this weekend pushing on with reform. Meanwhile, the Football Association | :24:01. | :24:04.
of Wales have thanked Brian Flynn for his work with Wales' Youth | :24:04. | :24:08.
Teams for over seven years. His time at the helm has generally been | :24:08. | :24:10.
considered a success, with the under-21s almost qualifying for the | :24:10. | :24:15.
2009 European Championships. So his imminent departure has come as a | :24:15. | :24:24.
shock to many. You look up the likes of Aaron | :24:24. | :24:27.
Ramsey and Gareth Bale, he was dealing talent and getting to know | :24:27. | :24:31.
the young talent coming through and making contacts and a game at the | :24:31. | :24:35.
lower level. He was learning about that as well. When you have young | :24:35. | :24:39.
players and parents of those young players scenes and the late Brian | :24:39. | :24:43.
Flynn in charge, my goodness, what better character could you have? | :24:43. | :24:46.
Elsewhere on the final day of the regular season, Brian Flynn's | :24:46. | :24:49.
former side Wrexham who are already assured of a play-off spot in the | :24:49. | :24:52.
Conference, are at home to Braintree while Newport County are | :24:52. | :24:55.
at Barrow. Sport Wales will have more on the | :24:56. | :25:05.
:25:06. | :25:10. | ||
weekend's football at the earlier time of 7pm over on BBC Two Wales. | :25:10. | :25:14.
Yes, a storm from Spain is heading our way bringing another spell of | :25:14. | :25:17.
wet and windy weather on Sunday. Heavy rain and strong to gale force | :25:17. | :25:27.
winds could bring down a few trees. A few places have had more rain | :25:27. | :25:29.
than this. Tonight, further outbreaks of rain in most areas. | :25:29. | :25:32.
Turning lighter and more patchy. Tomorrow not brilliant but better | :25:32. | :25:36.
than today. Plenty of cloud. Damp in Powys and the Marches. Dry in | :25:36. | :25:38.
parts of the south and west. Feeling cool with a north-easterly | :25:38. | :25:42.
breeze. During the day, most of the country will become dry. Fairly | :25:42. | :25:46.
cloudy but bright in parts of the west and southwest. A little | :25:46. | :25:49.
sunshine on the Cardigan Bay coast. Top temperatures 9 to 11 Celsius. | :25:49. | :25:52.
12C on the south Pembrokeshire coast with a cool north-easterly | :25:52. | :26:02.
:26:02. | :26:04. | ||
breeze. So Sunday cold, wet and windy. Strong to gale force winds. | :26:04. | :26:14.
:26:14. | :26:18. | ||
Gusts over 50mph in exposed places. The best place | :26:18. | :26:22. |
