Welcome to Wales Today. Tonight's top story. | :00:03. | :00:06.
The first path in the world to stretch along a country's entire | :00:06. | :00:10.
coastline. As overseas visitor numbers fall in parts of Wales, | :00:10. | :00:20.
:00:20. | :00:21. | ||
hopes it will bring more tourists whatever the weather. We picked | :00:21. | :00:29.
this area as having less traffic. If others were open up without so | :00:29. | :00:39.
many people, that would appeal to Also tonight. 31-year-old William | :00:39. | :00:42.
Jones in court charged with the murder of pensioner Peter Lewis who | :00:42. | :00:48.
had learning difficulties. Braving the damp weather to vote. | :00:48. | :00:51.
Just hours left now before the polls close in the council | :00:51. | :00:55.
elections. The fire service are called in to | :00:55. | :01:04.
deliver hay to horses stranded for days with no food. They were | :01:04. | :01:10.
starving when we got it. All the polls are well now. | :01:11. | :01:14.
The battle for promotion begins. Cardiff are aiming for Premier | :01:14. | :01:24.
:01:24. | :01:25. | ||
League status and Wrexham need to Final preparations are being made | :01:25. | :01:28.
to open the Wales Coastal Path, the first continuous route around a | :01:28. | :01:34.
country's coastline anywhere in the world. It is a lengthy 870 miles in | :01:34. | :01:39.
total and has taken six years to complete. Our correspondent Hywel | :01:39. | :01:49.
:01:49. | :01:51. | ||
Griffith is in Criccieth for us tonight. We have spent the day here | :01:51. | :01:55.
walking bits of the path and plenty of visitors have been taking an | :01:55. | :02:01.
interest. The signs mark out the 870 miles of this continuous route | :02:01. | :02:06.
around the country. It is hoped this path will bring in an extra | :02:06. | :02:10.
100,000 tourists to the country every year. But what is there for | :02:10. | :02:16.
them to do? What is there for them to see? The coastal path became | :02:16. | :02:20.
Pembrokeshire's unique selling point more than 40 years ago. Now, | :02:20. | :02:24.
the rest of Wales is joining in. Despite the weather, local ramblers | :02:24. | :02:27.
are celebrating access to 186 miles of coastline just got fully | :02:27. | :02:37.
:02:37. | :02:40. | ||
extended to 870. It is great for the community. It brings in | :02:40. | :02:46.
economic benefit of up some people think it spoils the privacy but to | :02:46. | :02:49.
do something they should be sharing with everybody. It is there for | :02:49. | :02:53.
everybody to enjoy. It will be a world first, and the woman who made | :02:53. | :02:56.
it happen, former Environment Minister Jane Davidson, lists it as | :02:56. | :03:03.
one of her proudest achievements. The planned for that to happen in | :03:03. | :03:10.
2012. It was something like Wales's offer for the Olympics. We will do | :03:10. | :03:14.
stamina here in Wales. We have a real offer that everyone can be | :03:14. | :03:18.
involved in. It is hoped the coastal path will attract an extra | :03:18. | :03:21.
100 thousand tourists to Wales and translate into serious cash. It's | :03:21. | :03:27.
certainly something that appealed to these intrepid Australians. | :03:27. | :03:32.
were attracted to the isolated and remote areas and we pick this it | :03:32. | :03:36.
year as having less traffic. If there are others which were opened | :03:36. | :03:40.
up without so many people that would appeal to us. Figures from | :03:40. | :03:43.
Visit Britain show that we certainly need a boost. Only 3% of | :03:43. | :03:46.
overseas visitors who come to the UK make it to Wales. Of those that | :03:46. | :03:50.
do come, certain parts do better than others. The southeast saw a 6% | :03:50. | :03:54.
rise and visitor numbers grew by 4 % in North Wales, but they fell in | :03:54. | :04:03.
Mid and Southwest Wales. The sound of live gunfire, one slight fly in | :04:03. | :04:08.
the ointment. There are points along the path where you can't hug | :04:08. | :04:10.
the coast, like this military range here in Freshwater West | :04:10. | :04:15.
Pembrokeshire. Now they've put in a detour so you can a bit closer but | :04:15. | :04:22.
still stay out of the line of fire. A few others areas have also proven | :04:22. | :04:26.
tricky so walkers will have to head inland. The National Trust | :04:26. | :04:29.
properties that hug the coastline around the Menai Strait will be out | :04:29. | :04:32.
of bounds. As will a swathe of coast at Tremadog Bay around | :04:32. | :04:37.
Portmeirion. Further south and it will be a similar hike inland to | :04:37. | :04:42.
avoid the Dyfi Estuary. Lyn Jenkins, who owns a farm park overlooking | :04:42. | :04:45.
Cardigan Bay, has spent thousands in legal fees opposing the coastal | :04:45. | :04:54.
path access across his land, arguing it is unsafe for the public. | :04:54. | :04:59.
Women, children and toddlers would walk here. The fences on the inside, | :04:59. | :05:07.
not on the outside. There is a 150 ft vertical drop. Everybody here | :05:07. | :05:11.
has been frightened by this. majority though has been settled | :05:11. | :05:14.
through a spirit of co-operation. For the first time, all that Wales | :05:14. | :05:17.
has to offer, the steep cliffs, to the lush pastures and rolling sand | :05:17. | :05:26.
dunes, will be available should you choose to explore. One of the sites | :05:26. | :05:31.
that are run day brings visitors is the medieval castle on the hill. | :05:31. | :05:35.
With his coast path bring in extra visitors? I am joined by a couple | :05:35. | :05:41.
of guests. You already organise walking tours. How much interest | :05:41. | :05:47.
are you getting? We had something like a 50% increase in inquiries | :05:47. | :05:55.
from overseas. That is largely from the Continent. People live in | :05:55. | :05:58.
countries where there is not a great coastline and they want to be | :05:58. | :06:03.
part of the big event. How do you sell it to them? How do make it | :06:03. | :06:11.
unique? What would they be able to see? The coastal path is full of | :06:11. | :06:20.
history. To encourage them to come, you need to provide services such | :06:20. | :06:29.
as meat and Crete and transport and information services. -- meet and | :06:29. | :06:39.
:06:39. | :06:44. | ||
greet. Our task wall along is to take the promoted routes that we | :06:44. | :06:48.
have and link them altogether. It has been clear from the start that | :06:48. | :06:54.
it will be totally impossible to get the coastline all the way | :06:54. | :07:02.
around. There are some sites with their art conservation sites. There | :07:02. | :07:07.
are a few places where we have not been able to get an agreement with | :07:07. | :07:15.
landowners. But you're still trying to iron out the wrinkles? Yes. The | :07:15. | :07:22.
current programme has another year to run. Our task is to make it more | :07:22. | :07:28.
coastal. I would stress that the path opening on Saturday is a very | :07:28. | :07:33.
good product. When you explain the path to your visitors, will you | :07:33. | :07:37.
tell them about it occasionally going in off the water could mark | :07:37. | :07:42.
yes. It is a misconception, quite understandable, but it is | :07:42. | :07:47.
completely coast. We have to Engineer the day's walk to make | :07:47. | :07:54.
sure it is as coastal as it possibly can be. The I am sure the | :07:54. | :07:59.
authorities will press on. Thank you for joining us. The official | :07:59. | :08:04.
launch is on Saturday. They will be 90 organised walks at different | :08:04. | :08:08.
points. A man has appeared in court in | :08:08. | :08:10.
Cardiff accused of murdering a pensioner in the hallway of his | :08:10. | :08:13.
home. 68-year-old Peter Lewis, who had learning difficulties, was | :08:13. | :08:20.
found with stab wounds in the early hours of Saturday morning. 31-year- | :08:20. | :08:22.
old William Stephen Jones was brought to Cardiff magistrates | :08:22. | :08:27.
court accused of the murder of Peter Lewis. 68-year-old Mr Lewis, | :08:27. | :08:29.
described by police as a vulnerable adult with learning difficulties, | :08:29. | :08:35.
died in hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning. He had been | :08:35. | :08:38.
stabbed in the stomach. He was discovered in the communal hallway | :08:38. | :08:42.
of his Claude Road flat in the Roath area of Cardiff. He had been | :08:42. | :08:45.
a founder member and trustee of the disabled rights group Cardiff | :08:45. | :08:48.
People First, who held a collection at a supermarket today in his | :08:48. | :08:56.
memory. Colleagues there say he was an inspiration to them all. During | :08:56. | :08:58.
the two-minute hearing, William Jones spoke only to confirm is name | :08:58. | :09:03.
and gave his address as a flat in Adamsdown. He was remanded in | :09:03. | :09:11.
custody until next Tuesday when A community councillor from | :09:11. | :09:13.
Manorbier in Pembrokeshire has won High Court backing to be rude | :09:13. | :09:18.
online about colleagues in what could be a landmark case. Malcolm | :09:18. | :09:21.
Calver had been censured by the Adjudication Panel for Wales for | :09:21. | :09:25.
ridiculing his colleagues on a community website. He claimed that | :09:25. | :09:28.
was a violation of his freedom of expression and today a High Court | :09:28. | :09:36.
Judge agreed, saying politicians are expected to have thick skins. | :09:36. | :09:38.
The seafront beach at Rhyl in Denbigshire will remain closed | :09:38. | :09:41.
until tomorrow morning at the earliest because of a raw sewage | :09:41. | :09:46.
spill. People are being warned to stay out of the sea after a nearby | :09:46. | :09:49.
pumping station was flooded during the recent heavy rain causing it to | :09:49. | :09:54.
break down and spill the waste. A sub-postmistress who stole more | :09:54. | :09:57.
than 14,000 to help keep a community shop open has escaped a | :09:57. | :10:01.
prison sentence. Margery Williams from Llanddaniel on Anglesey | :10:01. | :10:08.
admitted four charges of fraud against the Post Office. She was | :10:08. | :10:11.
given a year's suspended sentence and has already repaid the money to | :10:11. | :10:15.
the Post Office. Voters have just a few hours left | :10:15. | :10:19.
to get to the polls to elect councillors in all but one of | :10:19. | :10:23.
Wales' local authorities. More than 1,200 seats are being contested. | :10:23. | :10:26.
Anglesey is the only council not to hold an election. Voters there will | :10:26. | :10:31.
have to wait until next year. Our Political Editor Betsan Powys is at | :10:31. | :10:41.
Cardiff City Hall for us tonight. Does polling stations have been | :10:41. | :10:45.
open since first thing this morning and they remain open until 10pm | :10:45. | :10:52.
tonight. There is still time to go and vote. Some 1,200 seats are up | :10:52. | :10:59.
for grabs. Councillors will have a pretty tough job to do. Some of us | :10:59. | :11:08.
have been voting for town and community councillors as well. But | :11:08. | :11:12.
there is no fault on Anglesey. Bat has been delayed for 12 months. | :11:12. | :11:17.
That is because external commissioners have taken over the | :11:17. | :11:27.
:11:27. | :11:29. | ||
executive roles at that council. A external help means a no vote on | :11:29. | :11:39.
:11:39. | :11:46. | ||
Anglesey. It was business as usual. There were concerns about serious | :11:46. | :11:55.
issues. While the council gets its house in order, voting is on hold. | :11:55. | :11:58.
It feels a bit strange, looking at the country going through an | :11:58. | :12:03.
election and we have not got one. We are where we are and we have to | :12:03. | :12:08.
get on with it. Changes are being made with progress in improving the | :12:08. | :12:14.
way committees are run and better public engagement. Once | :12:15. | :12:20.
constituency boundaries are redrawn, polling stations will reopen. | :12:20. | :12:25.
think it is about time they grew up and started getting their act | :12:25. | :12:35.
:12:35. | :12:35. | ||
together. Not a very happy taxpayer. The market is a fine example of the | :12:35. | :12:43.
council not doing a good job of it for the it has been poorly run. | :12:43. | :12:48.
Councillors get well paid for up they used to do the job for nothing | :12:48. | :12:56.
when I was younger. They get paid a colossal amount of money. The aim | :12:56. | :12:59.
of the commissioners is to hand more power back to councillors. If | :13:00. | :13:04.
all goes according to plan, Agassi will have its own election this | :13:04. | :13:10.
time next year. People will then have a chance to have their say and | :13:10. | :13:20.
:13:20. | :13:23. | ||
how the island is run. Unless you live on Anglesey, there are still | :13:23. | :13:29.
about three hours left to vote. In some parts of the country, the | :13:29. | :13:34.
counting will start immediately. We are hoping that one of the first | :13:34. | :13:43.
places to tell us how you voted his own Wrexham. We should know by | :13:43. | :13:48.
about one in the morning. That would be followed by places such as | :13:48. | :13:56.
Blaenau Gwent, Merthyr Tydfil and Flintshire. We hope we should know | :13:56. | :14:04.
by the time you wake in the morning. Early afternoon tomorrow we should | :14:04. | :14:14.
know what the results all are. After that, it might still take a | :14:14. | :14:24.
:14:24. | :14:43. | ||
bit of battering to find out who is Still to come in the programme | :14:43. | :14:46.
tonight. Good evening from the Cardiff City | :14:46. | :14:49.
Stadium on the first night of the play-offs. Cardiff fans know all | :14:49. | :14:53.
about them, having lost in them for the last two years. Will it be | :14:53. | :14:57.
third time lucky this year? Tonight, they face West Ham. And Wrexham | :14:57. | :15:01.
fans head to Luton in fine voice, as they try to take a step towards | :15:01. | :15:11.
:15:11. | :15:23. | ||
Fire crews in the Vale of Glamorgan have been on a mercy mission to | :15:23. | :15:26.
feed a large group of starving horses stranded by rising flood | :15:26. | :15:30.
water. Animal welfare campaigners say the 16 horses and young foals | :15:30. | :15:33.
have been without food for days and were getting weaker by the hour. | :15:33. | :15:40.
Nick Palit reports. Confined to this thin strip of | :15:40. | :15:43.
high-ground, a disused railway embankment is the only place these | :15:43. | :15:48.
horses can get a firm footing. Normally, they're fed through the | :15:48. | :15:50.
fence from the roadside, but local people in Sully haven't been able | :15:50. | :16:00.
:16:00. | :16:01. | ||
to get near them for days. 11 horses and five foals were stranded | :16:02. | :16:07.
in this field which has turned into a lake after the recent rain. Some | :16:07. | :16:12.
of the horses were up to their necks in water. I spoke to who I | :16:12. | :16:18.
was told was the owner and he denied ownership. I asked him to | :16:18. | :16:23.
move the Hayley Jones airfield and your feet -- refused. They were | :16:23. | :16:28.
swimming up to their necks yesterday. So the fire officers | :16:28. | :16:35.
were called in to help get dry hay to the starving animals. We have | :16:35. | :16:40.
found a route across and the firefighters are checking of the | :16:40. | :16:45.
depth as they go. The problem of stray and abandoned horses is | :16:45. | :16:49.
widespread across South Wales. The animals are often dumped on other | :16:49. | :16:52.
people's land - so-called fly- grazing. Here at Sully, it's a | :16:52. | :16:53.
complicated situation. The landowner says they're not | :16:53. | :16:56.
trespassing but denies they are his horses, so it falls to volunteers | :16:56. | :17:04.
to feed them. I have been working with some of these local people for | :17:04. | :17:09.
months. They generously come down on a daily basis to feed the | :17:09. | :17:14.
animals. I have been working with the lover of poverty and the police | :17:14. | :17:20.
to bring about some sort of action in the interest of the animals. | :17:20. | :17:23.
Several trips across the water and it's mission accomplished, for | :17:23. | :17:29.
today at least. They are starving when we got up there. But they are | :17:29. | :17:35.
all well. All the foals are really well and they will be OK now they | :17:35. | :17:39.
have the food. But this isn't a problem that's going to go away and | :17:39. | :17:42.
if the rain returns, it looks like fire crews will be back too. | :17:42. | :17:45.
People living in a row of cottages in Mumbles, near Swansea, have had | :17:45. | :17:48.
to leave their homes after strong winds blew down a tree and | :17:48. | :17:51.
dislodged a large boulder resting on the hill above. They're now | :17:51. | :17:54.
worried the rock could fall and damage their homes. One resident | :17:54. | :17:57.
says he's been forced to stay with family because he fears for his | :17:57. | :18:07.
:18:07. | :18:11. | ||
safety. That big boulder and several other small ones, the size | :18:11. | :18:16.
of a chair, any of those could start to fall again. | :18:16. | :18:19.
A professional golfer from Newport has been recognised for her role as | :18:20. | :18:23.
a successful Muslim woman in sport. 24-year-old Sahra Hassan has been | :18:23. | :18:26.
named UK Sports Woman of the Year by the Muslim Women's Sport | :18:26. | :18:28.
Foundation at Wembley Stadium. The awards honour female role models | :18:28. | :18:36.
from the Muslim community who have made sport more accessible. | :18:36. | :18:39.
There's a night of unbearable tension ahead for two of our | :18:39. | :18:42.
football teams, as the play-offs get underway. And Ashleigh's at the | :18:42. | :18:50.
Cardiff City Stadium this evening. Not everyone is a fan of the play- | :18:50. | :18:54.
offs but one thing's for certain, they deliver drama and tension on a | :18:54. | :18:58.
grand scale. Both Wrexham and Cardiff hope to take a big step | :18:59. | :19:01.
towards promotion this evening as the two leg play-off semi finals | :19:01. | :19:09.
get underway. This is becoming an annual fixture for Cardiff City. | :19:09. | :19:12.
This is the third season in a row they've reached this stage and they | :19:13. | :19:16.
know all about the agony, having failed in the play-offs for the | :19:16. | :19:20.
last two years. But this year, starting tonight against West Ham, | :19:20. | :19:22.
they're hoping the agony will be replaced with the ecstasy of | :19:22. | :19:32.
:19:32. | :19:33. | ||
promotion to the Premier League. You would forgive Cardiff fans if | :19:33. | :19:42.
tonight their pre-match mood was more, oh no, then here we go. Last | :19:42. | :19:46.
year's semi-final defeat by Reading led to a change of manager and a | :19:46. | :19:49.
clear out of players but the current boss says even if the fans | :19:49. | :19:59.
are a bit wobbly, the players won't be. We find a great season, get | :19:59. | :20:02.
into the Carling Cup final and getting to penalties with Liverpool. | :20:02. | :20:07.
I think there is a strength of character that will enable us to | :20:07. | :20:13.
handle this. Martin McKay is a former West Ham captain and started | :20:13. | :20:16.
his managerial reign in Cardiff with a shock victory over his old | :20:16. | :20:20.
club. The Hammers got their own back in Cardiff played in the | :20:20. | :20:25.
season and they have a superb recent record. When you get to the | :20:25. | :20:34.
play-offs, it has become who has the calmest approach on the day. | :20:34. | :20:41.
You also need a bit of luck. It's about who tactically gets it right | :20:41. | :20:45.
over the 180 minutes. It has been a special season for Wrexham | :20:45. | :20:48.
supporters and they would love to see their club return to the | :20:48. | :20:56.
verbally. -- Football League. Today, fans boarded buses bound for Luton | :20:56. | :21:01.
and the club who beat them at this stage last season. We want to have | :21:01. | :21:07.
everybody fresh and fit for these next couple of games. All the | :21:07. | :21:12.
strikers scored on the weekend so I am quite pleased. It is a matter of | :21:12. | :21:18.
picking a team to win a game. tonight's games are over, it will | :21:18. | :21:20.
only be half time but if all goes well, both Wrexham and Cardiff | :21:20. | :21:27.
could have one foot at Wembley when the final whistle blows. | :21:27. | :21:34.
I am joined by the former Cardiff City and Wales striker, Ian Walsh. | :21:34. | :21:40.
What is the minimum requirement tonight? It is still to be in the | :21:40. | :21:44.
tide after tonight. It is only half-time tonight. You have to be | :21:44. | :21:49.
patient but I think Martin McKay has done particularly well here. He | :21:49. | :21:52.
has a team ethic and a play for each other. Cardiff will be | :21:52. | :21:56.
difficult to beat. A lot has been made of whether Cardiff do tend to | :21:57. | :22:00.
choke on the big occasion. What have you made of the character of | :22:00. | :22:10.
:22:10. | :22:12. | ||
this team? Marty McKay it came in at the start of the season and had | :22:12. | :22:17.
a big clear-out. He has brought in new faces this season. I think they | :22:17. | :22:20.
deserve to be in the play-offs and I think they will be very difficult | :22:20. | :22:25.
to beat. I think Cardiff have got a great chance. A quick word about | :22:25. | :22:30.
Wrexham who played Luton tonight. Do you think Wrexham can do it this | :22:30. | :22:36.
year? They can but what they can't do is go three goals down and a | :22:36. | :22:40.
first half an hour like they did last season. They have to be in it | :22:40. | :22:43.
over the 180 minutes. Thank you very much. | :22:43. | :22:47.
Of course, this stadium is also home to the Cardiff Blues and today, | :22:47. | :22:49.
they confirmed that former Scarlets coach, Phil Davies, is their new | :22:50. | :22:53.
director of rugby. The region say the former Wales forward and under- | :22:53. | :22:55.
20's coach has just the right experience, especially from his | :22:55. | :22:58.
time in charge of Leeds, to help develop their young squad and | :22:58. | :23:06.
deliver success. Snooker and Carmarthen's Matthew | :23:06. | :23:08.
Stevens starts his World Championship semi final against | :23:08. | :23:14.
Ronnie O'Sullivan later. He's twice been a runner up in the competition. | :23:14. | :23:17.
He won't be joined by Cimla's Jamie Jones though, who after a nail | :23:17. | :23:20.
biting evening at the crucible last night, lost his quarter final match | :23:20. | :23:30.
:23:30. | :23:36. | ||
13-11 to Ali Carter. To get to the quarter-finals on my debut is a | :23:37. | :23:41.
good achievement. I have learnt a lot and I can carry a lot through | :23:41. | :23:47.
to next season and I can be confident in my ability next season. | :23:47. | :23:52.
The snooker starts at 7:00pm on BBC 2 Wales. And then there are | :23:52. | :23:55.
highlights of the football on BBC 2 Wales at 11:20pm. And as always, | :23:55. | :23:58.
there's live coverage of tonight's first leg at the Cardiff City | :23:58. | :24:01.
Stadium on all Radio Wales frequencies, except FM North, where | :24:01. | :24:03.
there'll be commentary of Wrexham's match at Luton. Hope you enjoy a | :24:03. | :24:13.
:24:13. | :24:16. | ||
great night of sport. Now, here's If you're fed up with the rain, | :24:17. | :24:21.
there's some good news. I can promise some better weather over | :24:21. | :24:31.
:24:31. | :24:40. | ||
the weekend. Drier and brighter. Mind you, it's going to turn colder | :24:40. | :24:44.
with some frost. Talking of cold, last month was the coldest April in | :24:44. | :24:49.
Wales since 1989. It was colder than March by 1.4 degrees. April | :24:49. | :24:52.
has been colder than March in the past but the difference in | :24:52. | :24:54.
temperature this year is the biggest we've seen since records | :24:54. | :24:59.
began in 1910. Tonight, much of the country will be cloudy and damp in | :24:59. | :25:03.
places. A little rain and drizzle too. Most of it light in parts of | :25:03. | :25:06.
mid Wales and the south. Otherwise dry. Lowest temperatures around 6C | :25:06. | :25:11.
to 9C with light winds. Tomorrow morning, plenty of cloud. The odd | :25:11. | :25:18.
spot of light rain or drizzle. Some hill fog. Otherwise dry. | :25:18. | :25:21.
Temperatures in Cardigan around 9C with light winds. During the day, a | :25:21. | :25:24.
cold front will move south, bringing a little rain to the north | :25:24. | :25:26.
during the afternoon. Elsewhere, dry bar the odd light shower. It | :25:26. | :25:29.
may brighten-up in parts of the south and west. Top temperatures, | :25:29. | :25:39.
:25:39. | :25:40. | ||
10C to 13C, with light to moderate winds. Tomorrow evening, spots of | :25:40. | :25:45.
rain will move south and clear. Becoming dry overnight and turning | :25:45. | :25:50.
colder. Ground frost in parts of Mid Wales and the north. Saturday, | :25:50. | :25:54.
a better day. Feeling cool, but dry. A sunny start but cloudier by the | :25:54. | :26:00.
afternoon. Saturday night will be cold with a fairly widespread frost. | :26:00. | :26:05.
So gardeners beware. Sunday should be dry. Monday, cloudier and | :26:05. | :26:11.
breezier with a risk of some rain. Lots going on this weekend. The Bro | :26:11. | :26:14.
Tregaron Walking Festival is taking place, including a 12 mile walk | :26:14. | :26:20.
with Olympic events. While in Crynant, there's a Steam and | :26:20. | :26:24.
Vintage Show this weekend. If you're going along, it should be | :26:24. | :26:34.
:26:34. | :26:35. | ||
dry. Finally, good luck to all those taking part in the Celtic | :26:35. | :26:37.
Challenge Rowing Race from Ireland to Aberystwyth this weekend, | :26:37. | :26:40.
including teams from Aberdyfi. We wish you a safe crossing and good | :26:40. | :26:43.
weather. Now, as we've been hearing, the Wales Coastal Path officially | :26:43. | :26:46.
opens this weekend and in tomorrow night's programme, I'll be putting | :26:46. | :26:49.
on my walking boots and exploring the coastline around Llangrannog in | :26:49. | :26:51.
Ceredigion. I met plenty of fellow walkers, enjoying the scenery, and | :26:51. | :26:54.
I also caught up with local traders who hope they'll benefit from the | :26:55. | :27:04.
:27:05. | :27:09. | ||
new path too. That's at 6:30pm The official opening is on Saturday | :27:09. | :27:19.
:27:19. | :27:23. | ||
and I will be in Aberystwyth on the prom so pop down and say hello. | :27:23. | :27:27. |
