Good evening. A 31-year-old man has appeared in | :01:23. | :01:26.
court charged with murder and 13 counts of attempted murder | :01:26. | :01:31.
following a series of hit and run incidents in Cardiff on Friday. | :01:31. | :01:35.
Matthew Tvrdon has been remanded in custody. Six people are still in | :01:35. | :01:43.
hospital tonight, including three children. After the chaotic scenes | :01:43. | :01:47.
in the west side of the city, everyone involved is still coming | :01:47. | :01:54.
to terms with what happened. Nick Palit reports. 31-year-old Matthew | :01:54. | :02:00.

The community of Ely are still reeling after the events of Friday | :02:24. | :02:29.
afternoon, a tragedy which claimed the life of a young woman and left | :02:29. | :02:34.
13 as a this -- others including seven children in hospital. | :02:34. | :02:38.
Yesterday the committee came together at the spot where Karina | :02:38. | :02:41.
Menzies died. This is not a plea to the community | :02:41. | :02:46.
but Cardiff and the whole of the UK. We need to raise funds. The | :02:46. | :02:52.
children have been left with no mother and no future, nobody. I | :02:52. | :03:00.
can't express... Nearly 2,000 has already been | :03:00. | :03:05.
raised. It was a good send-off. We raised | :03:05. | :03:09.
loads of money, in the thousands already, and it wasn't even a | :03:09. | :03:12.
fundraiser. Police say their investigation is | :03:12. | :03:16.
ongoing and they are keen to gather as much CCTV footage of the ban as | :03:16. | :03:21.
possible. From that they had ticket -- piece together the sequence of | :03:21. | :03:26.
events. They also want information on a black Renault Cleo speeding | :03:26. | :03:29.
along the wrong side of the road along Western Avenue towards Ely a | :03:29. | :03:34.
few minutes before the band began its journey on Friday. Police say | :03:34. | :03:37.
the white van was involved in five separate collisions spread out over | :03:37. | :03:42.
an area of around three miles. They had their first call from a member | :03:42. | :03:49.
of the public from Ely, where two children suffered arm, leg and head | :03:49. | :03:52.
injuries and 29-year-old woman was injured. | :03:52. | :03:56.
I was worried about my own children because my sister was looking after | :03:56. | :04:02.
my son. I was really worried. There were also called to Cowbridge | :04:02. | :04:07.
Road West, where 22-year-old woman suffered leg injuries and to 24- | :04:07. | :04:11.
year-old man and to-year-old goal were also injured. | :04:11. | :04:21.
:04:21. | :04:21. | ||
As a parent, the streets have got to be safe for them. I just want to | :04:22. | :04:26.
pay my respects, that saw. Police believe the incident lasted | :04:26. | :04:31.
around 30 minutes. It was a Ely fire station with 32-year-old | :04:31. | :04:35.
Karina Menzies was killed. Hill also the youngest victim, a toddler, | :04:35. | :04:40.
was heard alongside another goal. On this fire station forecourt | :04:40. | :04:44.
where Karina Menzies was knocked down and killed, there is a scene | :04:44. | :04:49.
of floral tributes. Three days on, the outpouring narrow -- of grief | :04:49. | :04:54.
continues with flowers, candles and soft toys arriving by the minute. | :04:54. | :04:58.
The grey, wet, miserable day matches the sombre mood of this | :04:58. | :05:06.
community in mourning. A 32-year-old man and two girls | :05:06. | :05:11.
were also injured. Over Leckwith retail park, the oldest victim, a | :05:11. | :05:15.
49-year-old woman, who is still in hospital with multiple injuries. | :05:15. | :05:19.
The 27-year-old woman was also injured next to Cardiff City | :05:19. | :05:23.
stadium. At the stadium itself they are raising money at tomorrow's | :05:23. | :05:27.
game against Watford and happen to special T-shirts to remember Karina | :05:27. | :05:32.
Menzies. As a parent it is just hard to | :05:32. | :05:38.
understand what people are going through. Anything that anyone can | :05:38. | :05:42.
do, ourselves included, it is only a small thing we can do that | :05:42. | :05:45.
anything will help. Meanwhile, Matthew Tvrdon is back | :05:45. | :05:49.
in court tomorrow, due to appear via video link before a court -- | :05:49. | :05:53.
judge at Newport Crown Court. And our reporter, Sian Lloyd, is in | :05:53. | :05:57.
Ely for us this evening. Sian, what more can you tell us about those | :05:57. | :06:01.
injured? We have the latest condition check | :06:01. | :06:05.
from the University Hospital of Wales. Six people remain in | :06:05. | :06:10.
hospital tonight, three adults and three children, but two adults | :06:10. | :06:13.
described as being in a critical but stable condition over the | :06:13. | :06:19.
weekend, we are told that they are improving tonight. Of course, a | :06:19. | :06:23.
great sense of shock here in Ely. The community that has been struck | :06:23. | :06:27.
by this. Since I have been here, the amount of flowers has been | :06:27. | :06:32.
growing steadily. People have been pausing to read the messages, | :06:32. | :06:38.
candles have been left here at this evening as well, people remembering | :06:38. | :06:43.
particularly Karina Menzies, who was knocked down in this spot. The | :06:43. | :06:48.
chief executive of the Cardiff and vale University Health Board has | :06:48. | :06:53.
spent his staff, saying they work round the clock over the weekend -- | :06:53. | :06:57.
thanked his staff, treating those who were injured on Friday evening | :06:57. | :07:03.
at the accident and emergency unit, which had to be shut, such was the | :07:03. | :07:06.
scale of this incident. A number of people have been discharged since | :07:06. | :07:10.
then, but this evening, the thoughts here are very much with | :07:10. | :07:14.
the families of those who have been hurt. | :07:14. | :07:18.
Sian Lloyd in Ely, thank you. Tributes have been paid to the | :07:18. | :07:21.
victims of a fire in Prestatyn which killed a mother, her baby boy, | :07:21. | :07:24.
niece and nephew. The baby's father is still critically ill in hospital. | :07:24. | :07:27.
A man and woman who live in the flat below are still being | :07:27. | :07:32.
questioned on suspicion of murder. As this neighbourhood continues to | :07:32. | :07:35.
ask the question, why, police and fire investigators are still | :07:35. | :07:38.
looking for their own answers. 20- year-old Lee Anna Shiers, described | :07:39. | :07:41.
as friendly and caring, was looking after her nephew, Bailey, a happy, | :07:42. | :07:43.
loud, outdoor-loving four-year-old, his two-year-old sister, Skye, who | :07:44. | :07:46.
loved butterflies and dressing up as a princess, and her 15-month-old | :07:46. | :07:55.
son, Charlie. All four died as a result of the intense fire in this | :07:56. | :07:59.
first floor flat. The two older children went to playgroup and | :07:59. | :08:02.
nursery here. Their parents wanted fellow pupils to know what had | :08:02. | :08:06.
happened. A youth pastor from the local church is on hand to address | :08:06. | :08:12.
their concerns. They have come up and just said, we | :08:12. | :08:17.
don't understand it. We as a church and myself as be used Pastor are | :08:18. | :08:23.
here to serve the community and these young people -- a youth | :08:23. | :08:27.
pastor. I have to be here for them. Charlie's father, Liam Timbrell, is | :08:27. | :08:30.
in a critcial condition in hospital. Until recently, he worked at this | :08:30. | :08:33.
cafe in Prestatyn's Scala Cinema. He was a popular member of staff, | :08:33. | :08:36.
and still visited regularly with his baby boy. | :08:36. | :08:42.
Always so considerate, always used to bring us drinks and things. We | :08:42. | :08:47.
used to call him Harry because he looks like Harry Potter. A nice man. | :08:47. | :08:49.
A fundraising event is being planned for next month to support | :08:49. | :08:53.
his recovery. We will be showing films in the | :08:53. | :09:01.
cafe where he worked, and also have some food, to do something nice for | :09:01. | :09:05.
him and raised some money, we will do raffles, anything we can to | :09:05. | :09:08.
raise money. Prayers have been said at local | :09:08. | :09:13.
church services for the victims. We had 30 teachers and staff | :09:13. | :09:18.
members who came together for special prayers and consolation. It | :09:18. | :09:24.
was a very difficult service. Everybody feels something like this. | :09:24. | :09:30.
For the children involved, it really is a sad thing. Members of | :09:30. | :09:34.
the church here were very concerned. A 45-year-old man and a 42-year-old | :09:34. | :09:37.
woman who lived in the ground floor flat below Lee-Anna Shiers and Liam | :09:37. | :09:45.
Timbrell have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Relatives have | :09:45. | :09:48.
released a statement thanking all those who have sent cards and | :09:48. | :09:52.
messages of condolence and Friday, and thank members of the public who | :09:52. | :09:57.
attempted to rescue the family. They have also given their | :09:57. | :10:00.
gratitude to members of the emergency services and medical | :10:00. | :10:05.
teams who did will they could during this tragic incident. -- all | :10:05. | :10:07.
they could. The author of an independent report | :10:07. | :10:10.
which recommended the merger of three of South East Wales's | :10:10. | :10:12.
universities has denied threatening budget cuts against Cardiff | :10:12. | :10:14.
Metropolitan University unless it agrees to merge. The Chair of | :10:14. | :10:17.
Governors at Cardiff Met, Barbara Wilding, claimed that Professor Sir | :10:17. | :10:19.
Steve Smith had threatened "a thousand cuts" against the | :10:19. | :10:23.
institution. But he denies the claim in a letter to the Education | :10:23. | :10:28.
Minister. One in four of us will suffer some | :10:28. | :10:32.
form of mental illness - more money is spent on it than any other part | :10:32. | :10:35.
of the health service. Today, the Welsh Government launched its 10- | :10:35. | :10:38.
year plan to make sure that everybody with a condition can live | :10:38. | :10:42.
as full a life as possible. Some of the priorities are that people, no | :10:42. | :10:45.
matter what age, get a continuous level of support. Negative | :10:45. | :10:48.
attitudes of some employers to mental illnesses should be tackled, | :10:48. | :10:51.
and patients and their families should have more say about the care | :10:51. | :10:52.
they receive. Our health correspondent, Owain Clarke, | :10:52. | :11:02.
:11:02. | :11:04. | ||
reports. Here in Port Talbot, they are | :11:04. | :11:07.
preparing for Christmas, sanding down wooden reindeer to sell in | :11:07. | :11:11.
local shops. But this isn't a business, it is a support centre | :11:11. | :11:17.
run by a mental health charity. It is somewhere to go rather than | :11:17. | :11:21.
stay in a house. When you are not well it is better to go outside, | :11:21. | :11:25.
and I come here to socialise. This place also gives advice on the | :11:26. | :11:29.
type of care available, and one of the big priorities of the new | :11:29. | :11:32.
strategy will be to give people with mental illnesses more power to | :11:32. | :11:38.
decide what type of treatment is right for them. It was in this room | :11:38. | :11:42.
about this time last year that I received some cognitive behavioural | :11:42. | :11:47.
therapy. That choice was crucial in putting Mark Smith from Talbot | :11:47. | :11:51.
Green on the road to recovery after severe depression and anxiety. | :11:51. | :11:58.
It has been a combination of trying different types of medication and | :11:58. | :12:02.
talking therapies, such as the cognitive behaviour therapy I | :12:02. | :12:07.
received in this room. But you can't get that support without | :12:07. | :12:11.
tackling the problem head-on and talking about it in the first place. | :12:11. | :12:14.
And those choices could make a big difference. | :12:14. | :12:20.
If the policy is put into practice, people would see quite a big change. | :12:20. | :12:25.
What they would see it is that the one in 30 people who gets us as -- | :12:25. | :12:28.
serious mental illness needing significant care, instead of them | :12:28. | :12:32.
remaining unproductive and often lonely with damaged lives, those | :12:32. | :12:36.
people would get better, get into education and get back to work and | :12:36. | :12:41.
enjoy a social life, being, as they fully deserved, for members of | :12:41. | :12:45.
society. That is the objective. But others are struggling. Even | :12:45. | :12:50.
though the sun is shining, she won't go out. I met this 37 | :12:50. | :12:56.
agemacro look has that anorexia and bulimia since her teens two 37- | :12:56. | :12:59.
year-old. She says she needs specialist treatment which is not | :12:59. | :13:04.
available. She says another thing is stopping her recovery, and it is | :13:04. | :13:07.
the reason she doesn't want to show herself on camera. Stigma. | :13:07. | :13:12.
I have had one woman tell me, you make me feel sick looking at you, | :13:12. | :13:17.
that was when I was extremely anorexics. Another woman said to me, | :13:17. | :13:21.
do you know what, if you swallowed a pickled onion whole, people would | :13:21. | :13:27.
think you were pregnant. You think yourself, I can't get left alone no | :13:28. | :13:31.
matter what I am. According to the health minister, | :13:31. | :13:35.
getting to grips with prejudice is critical. | :13:35. | :13:38.
Service users have had a great input into the consultation we had | :13:38. | :13:42.
over the summer and I am grateful to them. When you hear their | :13:42. | :13:47.
stories about how they have had 100 job applications and not one | :13:47. | :13:50.
interview because they feel they have to put that they have a mental | :13:51. | :13:54.
health problem on their application, you realise it is very much alive | :13:54. | :13:58.
and kicking in Wales and we must do more to overcome that. | :13:58. | :14:03.
Back in Port Talbot, the reindeer are shaping up nicely. The Welsh | :14:03. | :14:08.
Government hopes that its new strategy will not only reshape | :14:08. | :14:14.
services but also changed attitudes. You are watching Wales Today. | :14:14. | :14:16.
Much more to come before 7:00pm, including: | :14:16. | :14:18.
Why pensioners like Heti Davies might enjoy different benefits | :14:18. | :14:22.
under Labour in Scotland and Wales. And the new face in the Wales squad | :14:22. | :14:25.
- Ospreys prop, Aaron Jarvis, is called up by Rob Howley for the | :14:25. | :14:34.
An inquest has heard how a football goal which toppled over and killed | :14:34. | :14:36.
a 12-year-old boy hadn't been designed in accordance with any | :14:36. | :14:41.
guidelines or standards. Casey Breeze died after being struck by | :14:41. | :14:44.
the goalposts on his local playing field in Caersws last July. Cemlyn | :14:44. | :14:54.
:14:54. | :14:55. | ||
Davies reports. Casey Breeze's family arrived at | :14:55. | :14:59.
this morning's inquest to piece together the final moments of their | :14:59. | :15:04.
son's life. The 12-year-old died after being struck by a set of | :15:04. | :15:08.
goalposts whilst playing football with friends on his local | :15:08. | :15:12.
recreation ground in Caersws. His mother wept as the court heard and | :15:12. | :15:15.
number of statements taken from children who were playing with him | :15:15. | :15:20.
at the time. Many of them described how he was playing in goal, and | :15:20. | :15:24.
after diving to make a save, he got his foot caught in the neck which | :15:24. | :15:29.
hadn't been paid back. As he tried to free himself, the goal frame | :15:29. | :15:33.
toppled over and landed on his back. One of the friends said he was | :15:34. | :15:39.
crying out at first, but then he went quiet. In this -- in their | :15:39. | :15:42.
statements, some children also claimed the posts fell the previous | :15:42. | :15:47.
week, but no one was hurt on that occasion. And one of the first | :15:47. | :15:50.
police officers at the scene said there was nothing to hold the goal | :15:50. | :15:54.
frame in place. The jury later heard that the goalposts had not | :15:54. | :15:59.
been designed in accordance with any guidelines or standards. In the | :15:59. | :16:03.
days after Casey Breeze's death, scarves and shirts were left on the | :16:03. | :16:07.
pitch as a tribute to him. What happened he didn't just shock the | :16:07. | :16:11.
people of Caersws, it also had an impact on the wider football | :16:11. | :16:15.
community and prompted the Football Association of Wales to issue new | :16:15. | :16:20.
guidelines relating to the use of goal posts, including one rule that | :16:20. | :16:24.
states that goalposts of any size, including portable ones, must | :16:24. | :16:29.
always be securely anchored to the ground when they are being used. It | :16:29. | :16:34.
seems lessons are being learned from what happened in Caersws last | :16:34. | :16:38.
summer, but exactly how and why Casey Breeze died it is still | :16:38. | :16:41.
becoming clear. The inquest into his death is due to conclude | :16:41. | :16:44.
tomorrow. Free parking should be on offer to | :16:44. | :16:46.
encourage shoppers into Wales's town centres. That's according to | :16:46. | :16:49.
the Conservatives, who were visiting Barry High Street today. | :16:49. | :16:51.
The Welsh Government admits the recession and the changing role of | :16:51. | :16:54.
town centres is a "major challenge" for regeneration policies. Now the | :16:54. | :16:57.
Tories want councils to publish annual reports showing how much | :16:57. | :17:05.
they make from parking charges. They have not provided costings for | :17:05. | :17:11.
the proposals. Parking is an issue. Bringing | :17:11. | :17:15.
vehicles into town is an issue, so we have to bear in mind that | :17:15. | :17:19.
elderly people have to come into town centres, and we have to look | :17:19. | :17:23.
at cycling routes as well, park and ride is also an aspect we are | :17:23. | :17:26.
looking at. A former Welsh Government finance | :17:26. | :17:28.
minister is standing down as Labour's representative on an | :17:28. | :17:31.
inquiry into the future of devolution. Sue Essex is leaving | :17:31. | :17:34.
the Silk Commission as it prepares to publish a report on whether tax- | :17:34. | :17:37.
varying powers should be devolved to Wales. | :17:37. | :17:40.
Free bus passes and free prescriptions - just some of the | :17:40. | :17:43.
benefits that have come to Wales and Scotland since devolution. Not | :17:43. | :17:46.
everyone thinks it's money well spent, and now with budgets tighter | :17:46. | :17:50.
than ever, can we still afford them? The Labour Party here and | :17:50. | :17:53.
north of the border are taking a very different attitude towards the | :17:53. | :18:03.
:18:03. | :18:04. | ||
issue, as Brian Meechan reports. Dr Heti Davies was born and bred in | :18:04. | :18:09.
Wales, but for the last 50 years, she has called Edinburgh home. | :18:09. | :18:12.
Older residents in Scotland enjoy access to benefits including free | :18:12. | :18:16.
prescriptions, bus passes and free personal care. | :18:16. | :18:23.
In some cases I think they are life-saving, and what people don't | :18:23. | :18:28.
realise is the emotional aspect of its and the feeling of well-being | :18:28. | :18:34.
and the independence you get, older people especially. | :18:34. | :18:37.
The Scottish Labour leader has raised the prospect of scrapping | :18:37. | :18:41.
some universal benefits if elected as the Scottish First Minister. | :18:41. | :18:45.
There are debates which will take place across the UK, not just in | :18:45. | :18:51.
Scotland and Wales, about the appropriate level of public | :18:51. | :18:56.
provision in this era of austerity. But I do think it is a difficult | :18:56. | :19:01.
message to sell in particular in Scotland and Wales, that have | :19:01. | :19:04.
traditionally savoured a more social democratic approach. | :19:04. | :19:08.
This is the capital city of a country which has become accustomed | :19:08. | :19:12.
to universal benefits. Scottish Labour is banking on being able to | :19:12. | :19:15.
convince the public that that is a luxury Scotland can no longer | :19:15. | :19:20.
afford. But that could be a gift to the SNP and cause a headache for | :19:20. | :19:24.
Welsh Labour. In government, Welsh Labour's at -- was Labour has | :19:24. | :19:27.
allocated more than 100 million this financial year for | :19:27. | :19:31.
concessionary fares for elderly and disabled people, free school | :19:31. | :19:34.
breakfasts and free prescriptions. The Welsh Conservatives have seized | :19:34. | :19:38.
on the move away from universal benefits in Scotland. | :19:38. | :19:43.
I can't see any just a vocation for millionaires being able to access | :19:43. | :19:49.
paracetamol they could buy for 16p at the supermarket, while denying | :19:49. | :19:54.
cancer patient's life ranging drugs which could prolong and improve | :19:54. | :19:58.
their quality of life. There is no social justice in that and it is | :19:58. | :20:01.
morally wrong to defend free prescriptions on a basis. Free | :20:01. | :20:05.
prescriptions keep people out of hospitals, they are part of social | :20:05. | :20:09.
justice and eradicating proper sit -- poverty, clearly something the | :20:09. | :20:13.
Conservatives don't recognise. When money is tight, politicians | :20:13. | :20:17.
need to prioritise, but as Heti Davies demonstrates, there are | :20:17. | :20:20.
risks to taking away benefits people have grown used to. | :20:20. | :20:23.
Wales rugby coach, Rob Howley, says the fortunes of the international | :20:23. | :20:26.
side will not be affected by the regions' poor form in Europe. All | :20:26. | :20:29.
four teams lost this weekend, and now face a uphill task to qualify. | :20:29. | :20:32.
There's a return to the Wales squad for Ospreys fly-half, Dan Biggar, | :20:32. | :20:38.
and for uncapped prop, Aaron Jarvis. Here is Ashleigh Crowter. | :20:38. | :20:45.
It was a winless Welsh weekend. The pattern was set on Sasa -- on | :20:45. | :20:50.
Friday as the Scarlets lost to Leinster. Then the dragon's were | :20:50. | :20:54.
beaten at home by a French side, Bayonne. On Sunday, the Blues | :20:55. | :20:58.
started well with a try from Leigh Halfpenny, but Toulon had the | :20:58. | :21:03.
answers to close a victory at the Arms Park. Finally, the ospreys | :21:03. | :21:08.
drew with Leicester at 70 minutes and then conceded three tries to | :21:08. | :21:13.
hand Leicester a winning bonus point. Collectively, that is one | :21:13. | :21:16.
win from eight matches. It is no secret that the success of the | :21:16. | :21:20.
national team is a key pillar of the Welsh Rugby Union's business | :21:20. | :21:25.
strategy. They believe Wales can still be a winning side even if the | :21:25. | :21:28.
regions are struggling. On the back of 2012, winning the | :21:28. | :21:34.
Grand Slam, yes we lost in Australia, but the national jersey | :21:34. | :21:41.
is important are the players and their care -- and sure they can | :21:41. | :21:48.
come in with that enthusiasm and play it -- confidence. | :21:48. | :21:51.
The only uncapped player in the 35 his tight-head prop, Aaron Jarvis, | :21:51. | :21:59.
who has been understudy to Aron Jones at the ospreys. The fruits of | :21:59. | :22:04.
success were on display at the WI you AGM in Port Talbot yesterday. | :22:04. | :22:09.
Delegates were told that the idea of central contracts could still be | :22:09. | :22:12.
resurrected after initial proposal was pushed back by the regions. | :22:12. | :22:17.
I think this is something we have to return to because the model does | :22:17. | :22:21.
work well in the Nations, it works well in Ireland, the New Zealand | :22:21. | :22:24.
model works well, and I think we can achieve something unique for | :22:24. | :22:28.
ourselves. Players' minds may be more on | :22:28. | :22:32.
cryotherapy than central contracts. Wales fly out to them out arrears | :22:32. | :22:38.
pre-World Cup based in Poland for attend day training camp on Sunday. | :22:38. | :22:40.
Football. The weekend saw Swansea City return | :22:40. | :22:42.
to winning ways with victory over former manager, Roberto Martinez's | :22:42. | :22:45.
Wigan side. The 2-1 result was the Swans' first win in six league | :22:45. | :22:48.
games, taking them back up to 10th. In the Championship, Cardiff City, | :22:48. | :22:52.
in blue, lost top spot with a 3-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest. | :22:52. | :22:54.
They're at home tomorrow night against Watford. Craig Bellamy is | :22:54. | :22:59.
expected back from injury. Newport County will face Cheltenham in the | :22:59. | :23:02.
first round of the FA Cup should they win their replay against Yate | :23:02. | :23:05.
Town tomorrow. Wrexham's win over Southport means they'll face fellow | :23:05. | :23:10.
Conference side, Alfreton Town. Whether you're Olympic Champion or | :23:10. | :23:13.
the best in bowls at a local club, there's often someone giving up | :23:13. | :23:16.
their own time to help people develop a love for sport. We're | :23:16. | :23:19.
looking for nominations, for this year's BBC Wales Sports Personality | :23:19. | :23:21.

Thermals will come in handy by the end of the week. Over the weekend, | :25:11. | :25:14.
though, we enjoyed some lovely weather. Lots of sunshine in | :25:14. | :25:16.
Snowdonia yesterday. This picture is by Ray Davies in the Ogwen | :25:16. | :25:21.
Valley. Aberporth was the sunniest place in the UK yesterday, and | :25:21. | :25:24.
Eglwyswen in Pembrokeshire the warmest, but of course it was all | :25:24. | :25:28.
change today with a blanket of cloud. This picture was taken in | :25:28. | :25:32.
Newgale by Tracy Hughes. Tonight, the cloud stays with us, thick | :25:32. | :25:35.
enough in places for a little rain or drizzle, but not a cold night, | :25:35. | :25:39.
the lowest temperatures 8 to 13 Celsius, but mist and fog will be a | :25:39. | :25:45.
problem. In fact, there is a Met Office warning in force for fog for | :25:45. | :25:48.
tonight and tomorrow morning. So here's the picture for breakfast | :25:48. | :25:53.
time. Grey in the west with low cloud and mist. The worst of the | :25:53. | :25:56.
fog in the north-east, Powys, the Marches, Monmouthshire and Heads of | :25:56. | :26:03.
the Valleys. Visibility 100 to 200 metres, but as low as 50 metres on | :26:03. | :26:06.
higher ground, so take extra care if you're travelling. During the | :26:06. | :26:10.
day, the fog will slowly lift into low cloud with hill fog in the | :26:10. | :26:13.
afternoon, and like today, a bit damp in places with light rain and | :26:13. | :26:17.
drizzle. Cloudy for most, but it may brighten up in parts of the | :26:17. | :26:20.
west. A little sunshine on the Cardigan Bay coast and the Lleyn | :26:20. | :26:23.
Peninsula. Top temperatures around 16 Celsius with a light north- | :26:23. | :26:30.
easterly breeze. In Flintshire tomorrow, another grey day. Misty | :26:30. | :26:33.
with fog lifting onto the Clwydian hills and Halkyn Mountain. | :26:33. | :26:37.
Temperatures in Buckley 13 Celsius, with hardly a breath of wind. | :26:37. | :26:43.
Tomorrow night generally cloudy, with more mist and hill fog forming. | :26:43. | :26:47.
A little light rain or drizzle in places too. Wednesday and Thursday | :26:47. | :26:51.
not much change - mostly cloudy and grey. Mist, hill fog and a few | :26:51. | :26:54.
spots of drizzle. The best chance of sunshine in the south-west. But | :26:54. | :26:58.
on Friday it's all change - Arctic winds will bring a big drop in | :26:58. | :27:01.
temperature. So a cold and breezy end to the week, but at least it | :27:01. | :27:03.
end to the week, but at least it will become much brighter with | :27:03. | :27:04.
sunshine and frost. The headlines: | :27:04. | :27:07.
The editor of BBC Newsnight, the man who dropped its investigation | :27:07. | :27:09.

work till the inquiry into the corporation's handling of the | :27:12. | :27:14.
