Welcome to Wales Today, our top story: People who live on Aberyswyth | :00:00. | :00:09.
seafront are told to leave their homes. Sea defences are simply | :00:10. | :00:14.
smashed as the storm surge. Elderly people rescued from their | :00:15. | :00:17.
ruined homes taking nothing with them but the clothes they're | :00:18. | :00:23.
wearing. The great storm washes away railway | :00:24. | :00:26.
lines bringing travel disruption to thousands of passengers. | :00:27. | :00:44.
Tonight's other headlines: Last seen taking out the rubbish. Police step | :00:45. | :00:49.
up their search for teenager Nida Ul-Naseer. Now her sister appeals | :00:50. | :00:52.
for help. We just want to tell her that she is | :00:53. | :00:57.
not in trouble. We all love her. We all love you, Nida. Just come home. | :00:58. | :01:02.
Margaret Thatcher's secret meeting with the miners' wives. Declassified | :01:03. | :01:06.
files tell the inside story of the strike. | :01:07. | :01:10.
Good evening. In tonight's sport, on the eve of his first game in charge, | :01:11. | :01:14.
the new man at Cardiff City enjoys a kick about with his players. | :01:15. | :01:27.
Good evening. Wales is still on weather watch tonight after high | :01:28. | :01:29.
tides and strong winds caused disruption across the country. Homes | :01:30. | :01:34.
flooded, trains cancelled, roads closed and sea defences ruined, all | :01:35. | :01:37.
this as high tides brought havoc along the coast. Tonight, people | :01:38. | :01:44.
living along the seafront in Aberystwyth and the Which? Are | :01:45. | :01:50.
advised to leave their homes. Our reporter Abigail Neal is in Cardigan | :01:51. | :01:54.
where houses had to be evacuated earlier today. | :01:55. | :01:59.
I am standing alongside the river here and you may be able to see in | :02:00. | :02:03.
the background the water is just creeping up. We had two hours away | :02:04. | :02:09.
from high tide and people are very nervously waiting here. You can see | :02:10. | :02:13.
some precautionary sandbags they have put in place. They weren't | :02:14. | :02:18.
enough this morning when the highly tide hit just after 9am. The water | :02:19. | :02:23.
gushed along this street. You can see people up ahead clearing out and | :02:24. | :02:30.
assessing the damage. It reached the Pope in the background, flooding 30 | :02:31. | :02:35.
homes. You can see, the floodgates people have put in place. They are | :02:36. | :02:42.
keeping them there because they know the worst is not over. We are being | :02:43. | :02:48.
told tonight that the area of most concern is Aberystwyth and Borth. | :02:49. | :02:53.
People should be evacuated. High tide is expected around 9:20pm and | :02:54. | :03:00.
they are warning that high winds brings substantial risk of more | :03:01. | :03:09.
flooding. Dramatic, damaging and destructive. | :03:10. | :03:13.
The powerful tidal storm in a blistering brought misery to many. | :03:14. | :03:20.
Several hotels were flooded. Neighbours were standing behind the | :03:21. | :03:25.
plate glass window and it's just caved in. Nobody was injured. It | :03:26. | :03:31.
went straight through the building and at the back. We are expecting it | :03:32. | :03:37.
again tonight but this time around there is wind. This morning, there | :03:38. | :03:41.
wasn't. This wind will cause a lot of damage and fortunately. In | :03:42. | :03:45.
Carmarthenshire, this castle was surrounded by a giant moat. At a | :03:46. | :03:52.
high tide the STV water normally reaches that skip. Today it | :03:53. | :03:55.
overturned it and continued through the village. This is about the worst | :03:56. | :04:05.
we have seen for years. You are very lucky the rain water did not come | :04:06. | :04:08.
down the road as well. It meets and makes a huge mess. This time, it is | :04:09. | :04:15.
just the Tidewater. Just after 7am, the first high tide hit the south | :04:16. | :04:19.
west. Desperate attempts to protect property here failed as the flood | :04:20. | :04:27.
defences broke within minutes. This hotel owner says he did not have | :04:28. | :04:30.
enough floodgates to keep the water out. We put the floodgates up that | :04:31. | :04:37.
we were supplied with. We sandbagged this area because a new it was going | :04:38. | :04:41.
to flood. As you can see, we can't stop it. Further north in Barmouth | :04:42. | :04:45.
where severe flood warning was issued, an injured man was rescued | :04:46. | :04:51.
by boat. All morning people had been clearing and assessing the damage. | :04:52. | :04:57.
In Gwynedd, the RNLI saved for people from a flooded farmhouse. Two | :04:58. | :05:02.
more had to be evacuated in Kennedy gym. The river burst its banks | :05:03. | :05:08.
flooding 30 homes in Cardigan. The floodgates will hold for quite some | :05:09. | :05:13.
time to stop they have done a lot of good in if you properties. They have | :05:14. | :05:17.
reduced the amount of water going into a property. I don't think in | :05:18. | :05:21.
these circumstances anything will be one and percent effective. Even | :05:22. | :05:25.
though the floodgates have held, the water has found other ways into the | :05:26. | :05:33.
property such as through vents. This river in Carmarthen was similarly | :05:34. | :05:37.
high. No football matches here today as police cordoned off roads to stop | :05:38. | :05:41.
people getting too close. Prepared sea defences just about managed to | :05:42. | :05:46.
hold back the sea after they were breached last month. But in | :05:47. | :05:50.
Pembrokeshire, the wall and part of the road gave way under the force of | :05:51. | :05:55.
the waves. It is a warning tonight of more high tides to come. We may | :05:56. | :06:00.
not have weathered the storm just yet. | :06:01. | :06:06.
Let me show you again be seen from Cardigan here tonight. You can see | :06:07. | :06:09.
all the flood defences still in place. People are starting to mill | :06:10. | :06:13.
around, looking at that river nervously to see what is coming. We | :06:14. | :06:17.
are being told that Ceredigion Council warning their biggest areas | :06:18. | :06:20.
of concern are Aberystwyth and Borth. They are expecting six foot | :06:21. | :06:26.
waves above sea level termite at high tide. We're going to hear more | :06:27. | :06:29.
from there now. Flooding has also caused chaos for | :06:30. | :06:33.
rail services across Wales. Many services were cancelled this morning | :06:34. | :06:36.
and passengers forced to take buses with huge delays. | :06:37. | :06:47.
A railway line close to the sea. Part of the track washed away today | :06:48. | :06:51.
showing how devastating weather like this can be. The rain in Gwynedd was | :06:52. | :06:57.
stuck after being caught up in the storm. At Cardiff Central passages | :06:58. | :07:01.
were looking for a way home after many lame -- mainline routes were | :07:02. | :07:09.
cancelled this morning. The London Paddington rain is delayed because | :07:10. | :07:12.
of flights between Newport and Cardiff. We have been delayed a lot, | :07:13. | :07:19.
two hours now because the line is off. I started at half past eight | :07:20. | :07:30.
for Manchester, I think we have got two more bus journeys to go. | :07:31. | :07:33.
Services from Newport to Carmarthen were badly affected and replacement | :07:34. | :07:36.
buses were put in place. The disruption didn't stop there. | :07:37. | :07:39.
The Holyhead to Chester lines were also down. As well as Machynlleth to | :07:40. | :07:47.
Pwllheli. We apologise to passengers for the disruption today. Without | :07:48. | :07:51.
these signalling the trains can't go anywhere. The engineers are out | :07:52. | :07:56.
working hard to try to rectify the problem. Trains are back up and | :07:57. | :08:00.
running in Cardiff Central but station managers tell the deep | :08:01. | :08:03.
deception could continue into the weekend as the bad weather is | :08:04. | :08:09.
expected to continue. The advice to passengers is to check before you | :08:10. | :08:11.
travel to avoid delays. But delays were unavoidable today | :08:12. | :08:14.
even when services were back on track, they were very limited. After | :08:15. | :08:17.
a day of travel chaos, passengers hope the situation will improve. | :08:18. | :08:22.
So high tides and strong winds causing this flooding. It's the next | :08:23. | :08:28.
high tide that we now need to watch. So tonight high tide in Conwy is 19 | :08:29. | :08:31.
minutes past midnight and 12.36pm tomorrow afternoon. In Aberystwyth, | :08:32. | :08:34.
9.17pm this evening and 9.40am in the morning. And Milford Haven, | :08:35. | :08:37.
7.45pm tonight and 8.07am tomorrow morning. | :08:38. | :08:42.
The family of a teenager, missing from her | :08:43. | :08:54.
the family of a teenager missing from her Newport home has made an | :08:55. | :08:59.
emotional appeal for her to come home. 18-year-old Nida Ul-Naseer | :09:00. | :09:01.
hasn't been seen since last Saturday. Her sister Naila Anwar | :09:02. | :09:05.
said, they missed her desperately and stressed she was not in any | :09:06. | :09:09.
trouble. Gwent Police say there had been an argument at home, which | :09:10. | :09:12.
could have upset her. Nick Palit reports. | :09:13. | :09:15.
Accompanied by the Assistant Chief Constable of Gwent, Nida's sister, | :09:16. | :09:18.
Naila, made an appeal on behalf of the family for her to come home. The | :09:19. | :09:24.
18-year-old hasn't been seen since last Saturday night and the family | :09:25. | :09:30.
are desperately worried. We all love you. Just come home. We want to tell | :09:31. | :09:42.
you, if anyone knows about her, tell the police. We are very worried | :09:43. | :09:46.
about, we are all worried about her condition. The most willing thing is | :09:47. | :09:52.
she has missed mums birthday which is not like her. Wearing blue jeans | :09:53. | :09:56.
and a black top she was last seen as she put the bins out. She had | :09:57. | :10:00.
neither her purse nor mobile phone with her. On the front door of the | :10:01. | :10:03.
family home there's a simple message they hope Nida will see. | :10:04. | :10:09.
We believe she may have had a verbal disagreement within the helm. It | :10:10. | :10:13.
could have upset her. It could have led to two leaving. Whilst we are of | :10:14. | :10:18.
course the doing in about lines of enquiry that is no information at | :10:19. | :10:22.
this stage to suggest she was picked up in a vehicle at all. Tomorrow | :10:23. | :10:26.
it'll be week since she went missing here. Despite extensive searches and | :10:27. | :10:31.
house-to-house enquiries please have drawn a blank. They say they are | :10:32. | :10:36.
concerned especially as she does not have her medication for anaemia | :10:37. | :10:39.
which she needs. They say anyone with any information should contact | :10:40. | :10:42.
them. Newly-released government papers | :10:43. | :10:44.
reveal how the prime minister Margaret Thatcher secretly met the | :10:45. | :10:47.
wives of working miners during the strike of 1984 to 1985. The meeting, | :10:48. | :10:54.
in Downing Street, was held at the request of the wife of a south Wales | :10:55. | :10:59.
miner who had defied the strike. Here's our parliamentary | :11:00. | :11:10.
correspondent, David Cornock. We will fight and die in the attempt. | :11:11. | :11:14.
It is a dispute that divided Britain. A defining moment for trade | :11:15. | :11:19.
unions and the government. 21,000 minus walkabout in South Wales in a | :11:20. | :11:24.
strike. It was then a nationalised industry. Documents from the Prime | :11:25. | :11:28.
Minister 's files released today gives an insight into the government | :11:29. | :11:33.
's thinking as a talk on the miners. Buried in the Prime Minister 's | :11:34. | :11:37.
papers, we find propaganda sheets from the South Wales NUM. You don't | :11:38. | :11:42.
need me to imagine Margaret Thatcher 's reaction when she read the | :11:43. | :11:48.
headline, strike breaker is a traitor above a photograph of a | :11:49. | :11:53.
police officer described as black flags. The papers reveal how | :11:54. | :11:56.
Margaret Thatcher held at private meeting with the wives of working | :11:57. | :12:01.
miners after receiving a letter from one whose husband defied the | :12:02. | :12:06.
strike. In a draft statement about the meeting, it was never issued, | :12:07. | :12:12.
Margaret Thatcher changed the word sympathy to understanding. She felt | :12:13. | :12:20.
she had a magic touch. Shoot would have wanted to meet them and | :12:21. | :12:30.
believed their determination would have been galvanised a tried to | :12:31. | :12:39.
persuade otherwise. A ministerial committee on Cole met regularly to | :12:40. | :12:42.
plan the government strategy but the Welsh Secretary's request to join it | :12:43. | :12:47.
was refused. He says his priority was to bring new industries to Wales | :12:48. | :12:51.
rather than focus on one in inevitable decline. It was agony for | :12:52. | :13:00.
the people involved. But in terms of impact on Welsh economy and Wales in | :13:01. | :13:08.
general, it has been exaggerated. The government maintained it had | :13:09. | :13:12.
enough coal stockpile to win the strike. Privately, it is less | :13:13. | :13:18.
confident. At one point we see the government is discussing procedures | :13:19. | :13:21.
for calling a state of emergency and that really shows us they were | :13:22. | :13:26.
talking about taking things to another level to try to ensure power | :13:27. | :13:32.
stations remained operational. But the government held its nerve and in | :13:33. | :13:37.
March 1985 the strike ended in defeat for the miners. Pit closures | :13:38. | :13:43.
followed a mother last deep mine in Wales closing six years ago. Back | :13:44. | :13:52.
now to our top story. People living on the seafront in Aberystwyth and | :13:53. | :13:55.
Borth are being advised to leave their homes or stop our reporter is | :13:56. | :14:00.
in Aberystwyth for rest. What is the latest on the evacuation? | :14:01. | :14:06.
Residents are being advised to leave their homes and this evening I have | :14:07. | :14:10.
seen quite a few residents walking along this old Victorian promenade | :14:11. | :14:16.
carrying luggage. They are heeding advice and spending the night at a | :14:17. | :14:20.
school. But there are quite a lot of students living here. They are not | :14:21. | :14:25.
as tempted to go and find safety in the school. Some are tempted to stay | :14:26. | :14:34.
and watch. It is a dangerous ones. We added affecting high tide to hit | :14:35. | :14:38.
at nine o'clock tonight. How much were are we expecting things to | :14:39. | :14:43.
get? We have seen pictures about the damage to those sea defences. | :14:44. | :14:52.
Earlier the high tide hit around nine o'clock this morning and some | :14:53. | :14:55.
of those pictures are terrible. Just further up the seafront is part of | :14:56. | :14:59.
this railing, about six metres of it, has been ripped away from the | :15:00. | :15:02.
promenade and it is lying on the ground. The road is littered with | :15:03. | :15:08.
debris. If anything -- if it is anything like it was this morning, | :15:09. | :15:12.
he waves could be high. I was speaking to a professional | :15:13. | :15:14.
photographer earlier and some of the ways reached as high as the 5-storey | :15:15. | :15:21.
buildings. There is a severe flood warning here and that means there is | :15:22. | :15:25.
a danger to life. It could be very serious. Thank you very much. We | :15:26. | :15:33.
will have more on this after our News at ten. | :15:34. | :15:37.
It's been a landmark week for immigration. Romanians and | :15:38. | :15:38.
Bulgarians have gained unrestricted rights to work across the European | :15:39. | :15:42.
Union. Last night we looked at how our schools and hospitals have been | :15:43. | :15:45.
shaped by a changing population. Tonight our reporter Charlotte | :15:46. | :15:48.
Dubenskij has been to Llanelli where a large number of Polish immigrants | :15:49. | :15:54.
came to live searching for work. This woman was born in Poland. She | :15:55. | :16:01.
has called Langley her home for the last five years. She is one of | :16:02. | :16:05.
thousands of migrants from Poland who came to the UK to find a better | :16:06. | :16:12.
life. I finished school in Poland and then my father invited me to | :16:13. | :16:17.
come to the UK to work for their holiday break. When I came I was | :16:18. | :16:20.
working and then I thought, I'm going to stay. It was a better life. | :16:21. | :16:25.
Though the influx hasn't always been this move process. There has only | :16:26. | :16:34.
been one negative in all the time we have had Polish people coming here | :16:35. | :16:37.
and that is streets drinking by single males. Not family people. | :16:38. | :16:47.
Just single males. In 2001 there were 62 people living in | :16:48. | :16:50.
Carmarthenshire born in Poland. In 2011 that increased to more than | :16:51. | :16:57.
2000. A jump of over 3000%. There have been concerns over people | :16:58. | :17:00.
migrating here to claim benefits. But the figures for Carmarthenshire | :17:01. | :17:06.
don't seem to act that up. In May 2004, there were around 22,000 | :17:07. | :17:11.
benefit claimants in the county, nine News later that fell to just | :17:12. | :17:17.
over 19,000. -- nine years later. This weekend the borders open for | :17:18. | :17:26.
people from Romania and Bulgaria. No little bit of language to | :17:27. | :17:30.
communicate, what you want to do. This is the most important thing | :17:31. | :17:36.
when you come. That is it. To be honest, to know where you are going | :17:37. | :17:41.
and to who you are going. She works in the Polish Welsh centre in | :17:42. | :17:44.
Llanelli where she helps other polls find work or stop concerns were | :17:45. | :17:50.
raised that Polish people could take jobs from locals but a decade later | :17:51. | :17:53.
many say the influx has been positive. The amount of money that | :17:54. | :17:58.
has been earned by Polish people are brought into the community has been | :17:59. | :18:01.
quite considerable. They have bought in the shops. But workers have | :18:02. | :18:13.
offered Wales many opportunities. The fate of this talent is just as | :18:14. | :18:16.
important to her as someone who was born here. Tonight's top sport | :18:17. | :18:22.
stories now, here's Claire. Good evening. Cardiff City's new | :18:23. | :18:26.
manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was straight into work today as prepares | :18:27. | :18:31.
for his first game in charge. It's all about the FA Cup this weekend. | :18:32. | :18:35.
The Bluebirds are away to Newcastle tomorrow in the third round, while | :18:36. | :18:38.
Swansea City travel to Manchester United on Sunday. | :18:39. | :18:45.
Getting to know his players. Cardiff City's new man looked at ease this | :18:46. | :18:48.
morning as he enjoyed the kickabout tooling his first training session. | :18:49. | :18:53.
His first test is a trip to Newcastle tomorrow in the FA Cup. | :18:54. | :18:57.
Having observed the team play from the sidelines, he is keen to | :18:58. | :19:00.
implement his philosophy on them as soon as possible. Every time you | :19:01. | :19:05.
train, every time you go out onto the page, no matter if it is a | :19:06. | :19:11.
training session, league cup, the FA Cup or the Premier League, you put | :19:12. | :19:16.
pressure on yourself or stop that pride tells you to go out and do | :19:17. | :19:20.
your best. That is what we have to do. For the players it is time to | :19:21. | :19:25.
concentrate on a new chapter and impress the new boss. It is a new | :19:26. | :19:31.
quest for all of us. A young manager, wanting to achieve things. | :19:32. | :19:35.
He has got belief in himself, the way he plays for all. The way he was | :19:36. | :19:42.
brought up. He knows a lot about the game, obviously. It is a really | :19:43. | :19:48.
exciting time. Kansas City travel to Manchester United hoping to bounce | :19:49. | :19:51.
back from a slump in form. Michael Laudrup has admitted he would like | :19:52. | :19:55.
to add players during the transfer window after a mounting injury | :19:56. | :20:01.
list. Hernandez the latest casualty. Despite more wet weather forecast | :20:02. | :20:05.
over the weekend, Newport County's game against Northampton is set to | :20:06. | :20:08.
go ahead. Their last two matches have been postponed at Rodney Parade | :20:09. | :20:12.
but as things stand the page is playable. Wrexham, who are 15th in | :20:13. | :20:17.
the table, and at home. A welcome Aldershot. | :20:18. | :20:20.
As things settle down at Cardiff City, there's still no sign of any | :20:21. | :20:23.
resolution in Welsh rugby. The four regions are waiting to see the | :20:24. | :20:26.
latest proposals from the Welsh Rugby Union after they confirmed | :20:27. | :20:30.
plans to offer a new agreement for the future of the game here. | :20:31. | :20:33.
Tonight, the Ospreys welcome the Scarlets to the Liberty Stadium, | :20:34. | :20:36.
eight days after beating them in the Boxing Day derby. A little earlier I | :20:37. | :20:42.
spoke to former Wales captain Gwyn Jones and asked with the Scarlets | :20:43. | :20:46.
out for revenge, what kind of battle he was expecting? | :20:47. | :20:51.
It is a Welsh derby over the Christmas period so it is going to | :20:52. | :20:54.
be a battle of the two forward packs a stock we can moan about the | :20:55. | :20:58.
weather but it is always this when the two teams meet. From that point | :20:59. | :21:02.
of view the Scarlets have improved considerably especially in the set | :21:03. | :21:05.
piece so they will be a tougher opposition. Whereas the ospreys have | :21:06. | :21:11.
swatted Welsh packs aside, we're not quite as dominant as they used to | :21:12. | :21:17.
be. I think their parties too strong and Dan Biggar will be controlling | :21:18. | :21:22.
the show. Given the uncertainty of where things will start next | :21:23. | :21:24.
season, these derbies have extra pressure. They want to finish as | :21:25. | :21:31.
high up on the table as possible. We have no idea how Europe will pan out | :21:32. | :21:37.
over the coming months. Teams were 1-2 finish in the top six. Bite | :21:38. | :21:41.
might be one of the criteria to competing in the European criteria | :21:42. | :21:49.
Vostok -- European competition. If there is any deal with a certain | :21:50. | :21:56.
number of Welsh teams available you need to finish as high as possible. | :21:57. | :22:02.
If we had a crystal ball, with the Welsh Rugby Union be saying they are | :22:03. | :22:06.
going to offer the region is new Deal? What kind of deal do you think | :22:07. | :22:09.
the readers want to see on the table? -- the regions wants to see | :22:10. | :22:20.
other table? The regions wants more money on the table. They say they | :22:21. | :22:25.
can't hold onto the star players they have got and they can't compete | :22:26. | :22:31.
with France and England. The union, they may offer a little bit more | :22:32. | :22:36.
money or may restructure the participation agreement to fund | :22:37. | :22:39.
individuals rather than the four regions themselves. It will start | :22:40. | :22:43.
the centrally contracting position in Welsh rugby. However, I think the | :22:44. | :22:49.
WRU are not going to offer significantly extra money. They have | :22:50. | :22:56.
had the stars for years, they have grossly underperformed, why should | :22:57. | :22:59.
they get more money for stars to underperform? Both sides are digging | :23:00. | :23:05.
in and until you read is decided we were not see an end to this | :23:06. | :23:07.
dispute. And you can watch the game live on | :23:08. | :23:11.
S4C tonight with English subtitles. Coverage starts from seven o'clock. | :23:12. | :23:15.
That's it from me, have a lovely weekend. Jamie. | :23:16. | :23:19.
It's a gritty police drama which has already attracted critical acclaim. | :23:20. | :23:22.
After being shown on S4C, the drama Hinterland will air on BBC One Wales | :23:23. | :23:26.
tomorrow night. It includes dialogue in both English and Welsh, the first | :23:27. | :23:29.
time both languages have played a prominent role in a drama series | :23:30. | :23:33.
broadcast by the BBC. Here's Tomos Dafydd. | :23:34. | :23:42.
A dark, criminal world set against the stunning backdrop of West Wales. | :23:43. | :23:51.
This is Hinterland. Keep to the left please sir. Daily conversation in | :23:52. | :23:54.
this part of the country often gets from Welsh to English and back again | :23:55. | :23:57.
and those behind the drama want it to reflect this. I think it is very | :23:58. | :24:03.
brave and play nearing in a way. It is how we live our lives. We don't | :24:04. | :24:08.
live in on the plot society. For me, it does reflect a more honest | :24:09. | :24:13.
picture of what it is like to live in Wales. You do speak Welsh and | :24:14. | :24:18.
English. Known as Y Gwyll in Welsh it focuses on Thomas fires who has | :24:19. | :24:26.
abandoned his life in London. The drama on as for seed proved popular | :24:27. | :24:31.
with more than a quarter of the orders from outside Wales. Whether | :24:32. | :24:35.
drama filmed in Cardigan is moving channels, some of the most dialogue | :24:36. | :24:44.
remains. There are certain characters in this drama who you | :24:45. | :24:51.
would not imagine any -- anything else that Welsh coming out of his | :24:52. | :24:59.
mouth. Hinterland has drawn comparisons with the hit series the | :25:00. | :25:04.
killing. The broadcaster behind the Danish drama has already bought the | :25:05. | :25:09.
Welsh production. It says the rugged mid Wales landscape and the darker | :25:10. | :25:12.
tone of the programme will appeal to a Scandinavian audience. But before | :25:13. | :25:17.
it goes international, viewers will be able to watch the drama unfold | :25:18. | :25:22.
tomorrow night at 9:30pm on BBC One Wales. | :25:23. | :25:24.
The weather has been pretty dramatic. Here's Behnaz with the | :25:25. | :25:25.
forecast. We're not done with Asti weather | :25:26. | :25:34.
just yet. The yellow warning for the wind and rain still in place. We | :25:35. | :25:41.
have the strong winds and the high tide as well. We have the showers | :25:42. | :25:46.
ruling in mixed with hail and thunder. A nastier night to come. | :25:47. | :25:49.
Overnight averages getting down to two Celsius. | :25:50. | :26:00.
If you are worried about flooding, you can call the flood line number | :26:01. | :26:10.
for further information. Tomorrow, the winds will ease. Still | :26:11. | :26:14.
noticeable. We have heavy showers in the morning. Falling snow in higher | :26:15. | :26:21.
levels that easing by the afternoon across parts of mid and north Wales | :26:22. | :26:25.
a stop heavy showers continuing in south-east Wales. It will feel | :26:26. | :26:28.
colder than today but at least we're done with much of the wind and rain. | :26:29. | :26:33.
As we go through tomorrow night, though showers will continue for a | :26:34. | :26:37.
time to stop it could be wintry and higher ground. Overnight, becoming | :26:38. | :26:42.
drive. We will see is clear skies, some mist and fog forming and | :26:43. | :26:51.
temperatures around freezing. The next area of low pressure heading | :26:52. | :26:54.
our way on Sunday, we will be keeping an eye on that. With that | :26:55. | :26:58.
comes the wind and rain but I don't think it'll be as bad as today. | :26:59. | :27:03.
Affecting Northern mostly. For S, it is a dry start. But as we go through | :27:04. | :27:07.
the day rain. Our top story again tonight. Another | :27:08. | :27:15.
massive winter storm has battered the entire west coast of the UK with | :27:16. | :27:20.
winds of up to 90mph. Homes have been flooded and roads closed across | :27:21. | :27:24.
Wales. Tonight, people living along the seafront in Aberystwyth and | :27:25. | :27:27.
Borth are being advised to leave their homes. | :27:28. | :27:34.
I'll have an update for you here after the BBC News at ten. That's | :27:35. | :27:37.
Wales Today. Thank you for watching. From all of us on the programme, | :27:38. | :27:40.
good evening. | :27:41. | :27:41. |
