been shown with fascination with celebrity as we see here on the | :00:00. | :00:00.
streets. Hello, good evening. The family of a | :00:00. | :00:29.
disabled man, who died after a routine operation, have been told | :00:30. | :00:33.
they can have an inquest - nearly a year after his death. Timothy Cowen | :00:34. | :00:36.
underwent a gall bladder operation last April at Wrexham Maelor | :00:37. | :00:39.
Hospital. Anna Bailey reports. A childhood illness left Tim Cowen | :00:40. | :00:42.
unable to swallow or walk and he had to be fed through a stomach tube. He | :00:43. | :00:46.
went to Wrexham Maelor Hospital for a routine gall bladder operation on | :00:47. | :00:50.
the 23rd April last year, and was discharged on the 25th. A few days | :00:51. | :00:54.
later he was taken into A He died on the 2nd May. The initial death | :00:55. | :00:57.
certificate said Mr Cowen died from pneumonia as a consequence of | :00:58. | :01:00.
cerebral palsy. His family said they weren't aware he had the condition | :01:01. | :01:03.
and requested an independent post-mortem. A review was launched | :01:04. | :01:06.
by Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board, which runs the hospital. Now, nearly | :01:07. | :01:10.
one year on, the final report is ready and an inquest can be held. We | :01:11. | :01:16.
need closure. Timothy was, despite all his personal challenges - they | :01:17. | :01:20.
have been well documented - lived a very full and contented and happy | :01:21. | :01:28.
life. Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board have already apologised for the | :01:29. | :01:41.
delay. Since then, it has met with Mr Cowen's family to discuss their | :01:42. | :01:43.
investigation. Its findings will be made public at the inquest. We could | :01:44. | :01:48.
have had a result by now. We could have had the inquest completed by | :01:49. | :01:50.
now. Any recommendations, which flowed from that, would be in place | :01:51. | :01:54.
by now. But, frankly, it's going to be another six to nine months before | :01:55. | :01:58.
anything positive can come out of Tim's death last May. That just is | :01:59. | :02:03.
unacceptable. Mr Cowen's family say they still have questions about his | :02:04. | :02:16.
death. They hope to gain answers at the inquest, which is expected to | :02:17. | :02:20.
take place in the next few months. A 21-year-old man has died after | :02:21. | :02:24.
falling on Snowdon. The man and a friend had reached the summit | :02:25. | :02:26.
yesterday afternoon, but took a wrong turn down. It's understood | :02:27. | :02:29.
they tried to turn back, when the man fell 500 feet. Very tragic | :02:30. | :02:32.
circumstances when we're surrounded with this very beautiful weather and | :02:33. | :02:35.
so many people enjoying themselves, but a tragedy like this could occur | :02:36. | :02:39.
with so many people in that vicinity. A real tragic event and | :02:40. | :02:46.
obviously our thoughts are with the family. The Archbishop of Wales has | :02:47. | :02:49.
drawn on stories from conflicts in Syria and Rwanda in his Easter | :02:50. | :02:53.
message. Dr Barry Morgan has put forgiveness and solidarity at the | :02:54. | :02:56.
heart of his address, which he says illustrates the meaning of Easter. | :02:57. | :03:03.
The first is from the city of Homs in Syria, where a parish priest | :03:04. | :03:06.
refused to leave that city although it was besieged. And although there | :03:07. | :03:13.
was hunger there, he was under-fire. He said, I've been with the people | :03:14. | :03:17.
in their good times, I have to remain there during the bad times. | :03:18. | :03:25.
He was killed this week. That reminds me of the solidarity of God | :03:26. | :03:28.
in Jesus Christ, whatever people do to him. The Welsh Rugby Union is set | :03:29. | :03:37.
to appoint its first woman board member in its 133-year history. It's | :03:38. | :03:40.
understood to be one of the main recommendations of a review into the | :03:41. | :03:44.
way Welsh Rugby Union is run that started two years ago. Member clubs | :03:45. | :03:47.
will vote on the proposals in October. Football and Cardiff City | :03:48. | :03:50.
missed an opportunity to boost their Premier League survival hopes, they | :03:51. | :03:54.
could only manage a 1-1 draw at home against Stoke. Meanwhile, a Wilfried | :03:55. | :03:56.
Bony penalty in stoppage-time ensured Swansea crept closer to | :03:57. | :03:59.
safety securing a 2-1 win over Newcastle. In the Conference, | :04:00. | :04:02.
Wrexham are 16th in the table after a goalless draw with Chester. Let's | :04:03. | :04:08.
take a look at the weather forecast for Wales, here's Owain Wyn Evans. | :04:09. | :04:13.
Most of us have seen some brightness. Clear spells across the | :04:14. | :04:18.
country. A dry night, because of the clear spells, the temperatures will | :04:19. | :04:21.
fall low. Cloud pushing in from the east, the South West and the | :04:22. | :04:25.
north-west remaining clearer. Over night lows between three and six | :04:26. | :04:29.
Celsius. It will be a cloudy and grey start tomorrow. Some brightness | :04:30. | :04:33.
in the north-west. Then the showers push in from the east. The heaviest | :04:34. | :04:37.
of the showers likely to be concentrated across parts of south | :04:38. | :04:43.
Wales. Temperatures tomorrow 12-15 Celsius. A breezy day across Wales. | :04:44. | :04:47.
As the low pressure moves away on Monday, it will drag this cold front | :04:48. | :04:51.
behind it. It will introduce showers across the country. The story for | :04:52. | :04:55.
this week, sunshine and showers. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. | :04:56. | :05:01.
That's Wales Today. We'll be back at 6.50pm tomorrow evening. Thanks for | :05:02. | :05:02.
watching. Bye. Good evening. The temperature | :05:03. | :05:22.
reached 18 degrees in the sunshine across parts of the Scottish | :05:23. | :05:24. |
