Good evening. A UK Government minister is calling

for the Electoral Commission to face a "full investigation". It follows

its decision to allow a far-right political party to use the name of

the murdered soldier, Lee Rigby, on Welsh ballot papers. The watchdog

has apologised for letting Britain First use the description "Remember

Lee Rigby" on voting slips for next month's European election. Here's

our political reporter, James Williams.

Fusilier Lee Rigby was murdered in broad daylight on the streets of

London. Returning to his barracks last May, the soldier was stabbed to

death by Michael Adebolajo and another man in what the judge called

a barbaric incident as he sentenced both to life in prison. The

anniversary of the crime falls amid the big European elections, and

Welsh voting slips will include an option for the far-right political

party, The headlines: two, alongside its slogan, Tim Mack one. Founded by

former members of the BNP, the party had its slogan and Ashley --

initially confirmed by the Electoral Commission. The chairman of the

Electoral Commission said the slogan should never have been permitted and

went on to say that although it would be used in other elections,

they could not change the ballot papers for next month's European

elections. Before then, The Cabinet Office minister in the Westminster

Government hopes for a full investigation. He made his call in a

letter sent to the Speaker of the House of Commons in which he said he

hopes steps will be taken to prevent such a mistake happening again.

People in Wrexham have gathered to protest against the closure of a

leisure centre. The Plas Madoc Centre is closing tonight and will

be demolished in October unless campaigners can find a way of

reopening it. The council decided to close it, despite local opposition,

to save money. Campaigners want to take it over and run it as a social

enterprise. An island off Pembrokeshire is

celebrating reclaiming its status as an official bird observatory.

Skokholm Island was the first in Britain to be established in 1933.

But the research, and ringing of birds, came to an end in 1976. Now

it's been reopened as an official bird observatory, nearly 40 years

on. Football, and a 10-man Cardiff City

have been hammered 4-0 by fellow strugglers Sunderland at the Stadium

of Light. The result leaves the Bluebirds bottom of the Premier

League, with just two matches remaining. Here's Matt Murray.

If Sunderland fans were daring to dream, it was going to be a

nightmare for the travelling supporters. Cardiff were poor and an

on-form Connor Wickham opened the scoring for the home side. Cardiff

looked Championship-bound when Juan Cala was sent off for this. Trying

to hold back Connor Wickham, even though it looked to have happened

just outside the box. Fabio Borini scored from the spot to make it 2-0.

Cardiff had very few chances, but they nearly pulled one back with a

Peter Whittingham free-kick. But it was well saved by a keeper who had

been a spectator for most of the match. The home side pushed Ole

Gunnar Solskjaer's men to the brink of relegation when the third came.

Sunderland completed the visitors' miserable day four minutes from time

when Wickham netted his second of the day and his fifth goal in three

games. It is one of these places you do not

like to be when you are a manager. Does not matter how you lose the

game, you're disappointed. Especially when it is against a team

like Sunderland. Now we give them a great opportunity and give ourselves

a mountain to climb. But we have to start climbing.

Climbing mountains might be too much to ask for a side which has

struggled with the heights of the Premier League.

Better fortunes for Ryan Giggs in his first match in charge of

Manchester United. He took over as caretaker manager after David Moyes'

sacking in the week and enjoyed a 4-0 win over Nowrwich City on his

managerial debut. In the World Championship Snooker at

the Crucible in Sheffield, two Welsh men have been in action this

afternoon. Dominic Dale is currently 12-4 up over Michael Wasley. That

match continues tomorrow, as does Ryan Day against Judd Trump. Day is

currently trailing by 10-6. Cricket, and Glamorgan have been in

action against Leicestershire in the County Championship. It's the first

day, and when rain stopped play, Leicestershire were 221-4.

After a weekend of bright spells and heavy downpours, and unsettled start

of the week. Sunshine and showers and turning colder by the end of it.

This evening, showers eventually easing to leave many places dry

overnight. Remaining largely cloudy with mist and four patch is

developing by dawn, but the cloud. The temperatures. Overnight lows of

7-9 Celsius. Tomorrow, a misty and Marty start with being able cloud.

Sunny spells and showers fewer than today, although some could be heavy

and slow moving because winds alight. Not much rugby is, feeling

pleasant in the sunshine but Markey for the Irish coast. Highs of 13

Celsius in Pembrokeshire, 15 in Flintshire. It will be cloudy at

times and temperatures in the mid teens on Tuesday. The next couple of

days remain unsettled. Dry spells and scattered showers, but colder
