Good evening. As friends pay tribute tonight to the Welsh servicemen

killed in Afghanistan at the weekend, the Welsh Secretary has

said the helicopter crash which killed them was probably not caused

by hostile action, but a terrible tragedy. Captain Thomas Clarke, from

Cowbridge, and Lance Corporal Oliver Thomas, from Brecon, died along with

three of their colleagues. Caroline Evans reports. Capable and dedicated

is how the commander described them. 26-year-old Lance Corporal Oliver

Thomas and 30-year-old captain Tom Clarke, who was one of the pilots.

Gary Rees, whose son was a close friend, told me the terrible news of

the death of Tom Clarke has not yet sunk in. He was almost like a third

son to us, really. He was such a bright, big, very friendly, outgoing

young chap. Everybody loved him. Together with his son, he was a keen

rugby player. Richard Kilty, who coached him here, says he was a

respectful young man. We are all devastated by the loss of Tom. I

don't think we can take it in. I know all of his family, his wife,

parents, brother, they are devastated. Lance Corporal Oliver

Thomas was part of the Army reserves, which he joined in 2011.

He had previously worked as a researcher for the local MP Roger

Williams. He had done some training abroad, but this was his first

real-time with a full-time army. He was very well valued in Afghanistan

for the work he was doing. Where he was head boy of his school, he is

remembered with affection. It was an elected post by the teaching staff

and students. It reflect all the things that he did for the school,

his sporting events, and he took part in several trips to the

battlefields themselves. The Lynx helicopter went down near the border

with Pakistan. It is the first fatal accident of the Afghan conflict

involving a UK military helicopter. A great loss, especially as we are

nearing the end of our deployment in Afghanistan. It would appear it

wasn't the result of hostile action. But, nevertheless, a huge tragedy

for their families. Their deaths take the number of British personnel

killed in the conflict to 453. The family of a man who took part in

the internet drinking game Neknominate has warned of its

dangers. An inquest has heard that 29-year-old Stephen Brookes died in

February this year, after downing three-quarters of a bottle of vodka

and taking cocaine. Matt Murray reports.

Stephen Brookes died after attending a house party in the Trowbridge area

of Cardiff. Before leaving that party, he took part in the internet

drinking game Neknominate. Today, his family left Cardiff Coroners'

Court devastated by the news that the 29-year-old had consumed vast

amounts of alcohol and drugs before his death, but believe it was the

online drinking game that killed him. He touched everybody's heart.

The drinking had obviously got out of hand and it caused his death. The

young ones need to be aware that drinking can wreck lives. I'm sorry,

I've got to go. Would he still be here if he wasn't playing this game?

Yes, he would. It is a very dangerous game. The inquest heard

from family and friends of Stephen Brookes. They say he attended a

house party. He started drinking heavily at the party and taking

cocaine. It is about 12 hours later that he took part in the Neknominate

game. It is believed he drank three quarters of a bottle of vodka. One

friend said he seemed to empty the bottle in a matter of seconds.

Within the hour, Stephen had died. Pathologist reports revealed that

his alcohol blood level was six times over the drink drive limit.

This year, Neknomination has been an internet drinking craze. It involves

people filming themselves downing a drink, posting a video on social

media sites, then nominating someone to do the same. Today, the coroner

concluded that Stephen Brookes died from acute alcohol poisoning and

cocaine use. In a potential ?300 million deal

broke down earlier this month leaving the future of this oil

refinery and its 400 jobs in jeopardy.

The head of the Electoral Commission in Wales says she is sorry after the

name of a murdered soldier was used to promote a far-right political

party. Britain First will use the description "Remember Lee Rigby" on

ballot papers in Wales for the European elections next month. Kay

Jenkins told Assembly Members it should never have been allowed. The

commission very sincerely apologises for the registration of the

description "remembering Lee Rigby". Our chair has apologised to his

family for the offence caused. Work has begun to mothball Plas

Madoc Leisure centre in Wrexham after the council decided it could

no longer afford to run it. It will be demolished in October, unless a

community group is able to take over the management of the centre. At the

launch of its manifesto, Plaid Cymru said it would secure 150,000 jobs by

staying in the EU. It is also calling on the Welsh government to

target skilled migrants from abroad. Recent polls suggest the

party could lose its only European seat, held by Jill Evans.

Around 40 wild boar are on the loose this evening after they were

released from a farm near Maesteg during a burglary. Six people have

been arrested. Police are still looking for the animals tonight.

They are warning people not to approach them. Snooker, and Ryan

forecast. Some showers around at the moment in parts of the south and

south-east, some heavy showers too. Tomorrow there should be more in the

way of dry weather and some sunshine breaking through as well. Showers

breaking through this evening into the early hours. Otherwise it is a

dry story, with sea fog over the sea into Cardiff Bay. A grey start

tomorrow morning, mist and fog patches lifting. Then the cloud will

break with some sunshine, still this sea fog lingering over the Irish Sea

and the Cardigan Bay coast. Tomorrow mist and fog patches will lift, the

sun will break through. Not dry everywhere, showers likely across

the southern counties of England so they could be heavy and thundery. It

has been the warmest day of the year so far in the UK today, but it will

be much cooler in the north of Scotland tomorrow. For Wales

tomorrow afternoon, many places dry with sunny spells. Pleasantly warm,

17 Celsius in Wrexham with a light breeze. Much cooler on the coast

with the risk of sea fog rolling onshore. Any showers will die away

to leave a dry night, mist and fog patches forming again. Into

Wednesday, mist and fog will lift, some sunshine and some sharp showers

breaking out in the north and north-east, then during the

afternoon some rain will spread from the south-west. Thursday unsettled

with longer spells of rain, heavy downpours in places, then all change

for the end of the week becoming drier and cooler on Friday, but
