Muslims in Cardiff have been urged to know what their children | :00:16. | :00:19.
It comes a week after two young men from | :00:20. | :00:23.
the city appeared in a video urging others to fight in Syria and Iraq. | :00:24. | :00:27.
In an interview with the BBC, the head of Wales' | :00:28. | :00:29.
counter-terrorism unit has denied that police have failed to combat | :00:30. | :00:32.
Filmed in Cardiff and believed to have been posted on the Internet by | :00:33. | :00:52.
Welsh Islamic group now banned in Britain. This footage was published | :00:53. | :01:00.
last year. The organisation was banned by the Home Office because it | :01:01. | :01:05.
suspects that they are a front for an extremist group. The man in the | :01:06. | :01:12.
video is believed to have used this social media account to link himself | :01:13. | :01:19.
with the group before it was banned. These pictures on their Twitter | :01:20. | :01:23.
account appear to show the group talking to students during a | :01:24. | :01:26.
freshers fair at Cardiff University. The authority -- | :01:27. | :01:29.
University said it spoke to the authorities about this. They believe | :01:30. | :01:38.
that this man is also connected to a group -- to another group. In BBC | :01:39. | :01:44.
Wales investigation a few years ago revealed their involvement in trying | :01:45. | :01:49.
to radicalise a young Muslim man. These pictures are also emerged of | :01:50. | :01:55.
another group, banned today. They are believed to have held an event | :01:56. | :02:00.
in Cardiff park earlier this month. Today, the imam at a mosque visited | :02:01. | :02:09.
by Nasser Muthana and Reyaad Khan called on parents to be aware of | :02:10. | :02:35.
what their children are doing. I was talking to on Facebook are the | :02:36. | :02:36.
things? : They listened to in their books? In their lectures @, people | :02:37. | :02:37.
told us how they felt about the situation, including somebody who | :02:38. | :02:38.
knows one of the boys. I can see why he has gone out there. You know the | :02:39. | :02:42.
situation is dangerous, so any brother or any younger brother would | :02:43. | :02:46.
want to go out there and look for his older brother and the fuse OK. | :02:47. | :02:56.
Police in Wales and across the UK tackle radicalisation through a | :02:57. | :03:01.
scheme called Prevent. People work together to share information. Three | :03:02. | :03:13.
men from Cardiff had travelled to Syria to fight. Wales' most serious | :03:14. | :03:32.
-- senior antiterrorism officer says they are doing what they can. Many | :03:33. | :03:45.
people saw this man. They realise the police cannot keep hold of | :03:46. | :03:49.
everybody. But they do what they can. This ISIS propaganda video | :03:50. | :03:52.
emerged last week. The appearance in it of Nasser Muthana and Reyaad Khan | :03:53. | :03:55.
and the disappearance of his younger brother, is a failure on their part. | :03:56. | :03:58.
But it maintains that kind of does not have any radicalisation problem | :03:59. | :03:59.
and these men are in a small minority. | :04:00. | :03:59.
Too many children in Wales are being bullied in school | :04:00. | :04:01.
Research from the schools inspectorate Estyn found that | :04:02. | :04:04.
despite being obliged by law to tackle the issue, bullying is still | :04:05. | :04:07.
Some estimates say, as many as half of all children have suffered at | :04:08. | :04:12.
An articulate boy who was full of love. That was his mother's | :04:13. | :04:30.
description. He took an overdose, unable to bear the bullying. I would | :04:31. | :04:33.
not have expected him to do something like this. He loved life. | :04:34. | :04:40.
According to Estyn today, bullying remains a problem for too many | :04:41. | :04:46.
children. The inspectors find that not enough schools are identifying | :04:47. | :04:50.
and recording incidents effectively. Schools do not always keep the best | :04:51. | :04:55.
records of bullying. They keep records of behavioural incidents but | :04:56. | :04:58.
do little with classify them as bullying. They do not always look at | :04:59. | :05:02.
the patterns of bullying which can inform future practice. The report | :05:03. | :05:09.
points to some good practice. At this primary school in Swansea, they | :05:10. | :05:15.
have tackle the issue. We write our own equality plan so that everybody | :05:16. | :05:18.
knows that we have to respect everybody else. Each class has a | :05:19. | :05:25.
worry box for them to write their worries down if they feel shy about | :05:26. | :05:31.
talking to a teacher. But it is thought that as many as half of our | :05:32. | :05:35.
schoolchildren experienced bullying at some point in their school | :05:36. | :05:40.
lives. Estyn found that even schools with good strategies to address it | :05:41. | :05:44.
do not have a common understanding of how important it is to focus on | :05:45. | :05:47.
groups of pupils more likely to be at risk, such as gay pupils, those | :05:48. | :05:52.
with a disability or those were my -- from a minority ethnic | :05:53. | :06:02.
background. But this mother fears that the finding miss the point and | :06:03. | :06:07.
they need to change the culture of schools with the same zero tolerance | :06:08. | :06:11.
that is applied to racism. The first time it happens, the charge should | :06:12. | :06:15.
be punished. The second time, the parents should be dragged in and | :06:16. | :06:19.
dealt with. The third time, the charge of the excluded and put into | :06:20. | :06:25.
a situation where their behaviour can be dealt with. Estyn has issued | :06:26. | :06:29.
a check list which once all schools to use in tackling performance on | :06:30. | :06:33.
the issue. The government says it is also sending more guidance to | :06:34. | :06:34.
schools. A woman on a Mothering Sunday walk | :06:35. | :06:39.
on a Carmarthenshire beach drowned after being cut off by a fast-moving | :06:40. | :06:42.
tide, an inquest has heard. 68 year old, Susan Hackett, | :06:43. | :06:45.

of death by misadventure. A task force has been set up | :06:53. | :06:57.
at Wrexham's Glyndwr University aimed at lifting its suspension | :06:58. | :07:00.
from recruiting overseas students. It follows a Home Office inquiry | :07:01. | :07:03.
into alleged visa fraud. The university said senior staff | :07:04. | :07:07.
were looking to explore and implement solutions to issues | :07:08. | :07:09.

one of Wales' main medal hopes but has been forced to pull out | :07:22. | :07:26.
after an aggravated knee injury. Becky won two gold medals at | :07:27. | :07:30.
the World Championships last year. Meanwhile, it's been confirmed | :07:31. | :07:37.
Olympic Champion Geraint Thomas, has been selected for Team Sky to race | :07:38. | :07:39.

in the British time trial championship last night, finishing | :07:43. | :07:46.
behind Sir Bradley Wiggins. Plenty of rain about today - | :07:47. | :07:53.
will it ease off for the weekend? Mix. Very sharp showers. A Met | :07:54. | :08:12.
Office warning remains in place for further heavy rain at times. If we | :08:13. | :08:15.
look at the map tonight, Tonight, those showers tend to peter | :08:16. | :08:18.
out northwards, generally easing Mist and fog patches forming with | :08:19. | :08:20.
overnight lows between 9C and 13C. The front which brought today's rain | :08:21. | :08:24.
slowly sinks back south Some early mist to start, | :08:25. | :08:27.
variable cloud. A few scattered showers developing | :08:28. | :08:30.
but those showers also across the Midlands and south of England | :08:31. | :08:34.
as that front moves southwards, The best of the weather for northern | :08:35. | :08:38.

across north and mid Wales - sunny spells developing, just a few | :08:48. | :08:54.
showers could linger further south. Again temperatures slightly | :08:55. | :08:57.
lower than of late. Tomorrow night into Sunday, this | :08:58. | :08:59.
front clears away south-eastwards. Showers easing, turning drier | :09:00. | :09:03.
but a bit cooler behind that front. Sunday's drier and brighter, | :09:04. | :09:07.
just one or two isolated showers with some sunny spells especially | :09:08. | :09:10.
in the west and southwest. And though temperatures are | :09:11. | :09:15.
down slightly, still feeling So an improving picture as we head | :09:16. | :09:18.
through the weekend - looking largely fine for Monday and Tuesday | :09:19. | :09:23.
- but early signs of things turning keep up-to-date with the detail on | :09:24. | :09:44.
