Good evening.

The funeral has taken place of a father and his seven-year-old

son, who were killed after being hit by a car in Rhondda Cynon Taf

earlier this month.

43-year-old Stuart Bates and his son, Fraser,

died following the incident in Talbot Green.

An organ donation charity has been set up in their memory and it has

already received thousands of pounds in donations.

New figures show that physical assaults against paramedics

are at a three-year high in Wales.

By the end of September this year, the number of assaults stood at 84 -

already higher than in the whole of 2014.

We now probably feel more comfortable in reporting these

issues, hopefully, that they are now documented and we do it by computer.

We are maybe hopefully having more opportunities to do that.

The director of a campaign group for gay, lesbian,

bisexual and transgender people says the introduction of civil

partnerships a decade ago was an important step

towards wider acceptance.

It's 10 years since the first civil partnership ceremonies

took place in the UK.

Andrew White, from Stonewall Cymru, says it was a key event

in the campaign for LGBT equality.

We forget at our peril, actually, the inheritance rights,

the necessity to have new and different

ways of ensuring your house, of getting a will,

of creating a family.

All those things that have largely changed because of the introduction

of civil partnerships.

This was huge, and it also affected social attitudes.

Fans of a world champion mountain biker and stunt cyclist,

who was paralysed in a crash, are crowd-funding

to help his rehabilitation.

Martyn Ashton, from Port Talbot, is famous worldwide,

with close to 30 million views of his online videos.

Within hours of putting one of his bikes up for sale

to fund his rehab, he was inundated with offers of help,

as Nicola Smith reports.

Backflips, somersaults and gravity defying stunts.

It's moves like this that made Martyn Ashton famous.

When he posted this film online in 2012,

he thought it might get a few thousand views.

It attracted millions.

But one year after making it, a stunt went wrong.

His life was changed forever.

I had an accident and broke my back, just there.

It left me a paraplegic, so I'm paralysed from my waist down.

Not the greatest day, but also I look at it as

one of my luckiest.

I was very injured, but very pleased to still be here.

Two years on, he's adapted to life in a wheelchair.

But funding his rehabilitation, his long-term

fitness, comes at a significant cost.

So, he decided to put this bike up for sale.

Little did he know what would happen next.

I thought I was doing the everyday thing of just

putting my bike on Facebook, "Hey, guys, I'm looking to sell this."

Then I had this amazing response that I am amazed by.

I just think the positivity that comes from

friends and fans on Facebook is something I'm really grateful for.

It seems no one wanted him to sell the bike.

Instead, they offered to crowdfund his rehabilitation

to allow him to carry on challenging himself -

by doing things like this...

This summer, he managed to get back on a mountain bike.

It's already provoked a response.

I've been really amazed since that video came

out, because no one had actually done that before.

I've seen other people sending me videos of them doing it.

Other people in wheelchairs have realised they could get

on a mountain bike.

I'm hoping this year to see if I can get more people out doing it.

Tonight, his supporters raised ?7,000 in one hour.

It seems Martyn Ashton is continuing to inspire people right

across the world, who have been moved by his story.

Rugby, and the Ospreys are the first Welsh Region

in European action today.

They are around 20 minutes into their Champions Cup

match in France.

The latest score is Bordeaux 10-7 Ospreys.

The Scarlets entertain Glasgow later, and in the Challenge Cup

the Dragons face Pau.

Football, and Newport County were at home to

AFC Wimbledon in League Two.

The Exiles let a two-goal lead slip.

The final score at Rodney Parade was 2-2.
