Good evening.

Preparations are underway to help protect homes and motorists,

as more bad weather is being forecast for the coming days,

this time in South Wales.

There was chaos in parts of North Wales over the weekend,

with homes evacuated and the A55 dual carriageway shut for hours.

The Welsh Government says flood management is a key priority

and it's already invested significantly.

Nick Palit reports.

Sifting through the flood-damaged memories of a lifetime.

This man is having to throw out many of his mother's treasured

photographs after water ravaged these homes in this

village near Bangor.

Unfortunately, householders here know what to do

in these circumstances.

It is the second time this has happened in three years.

We decided to lift the three-piece and the two chairs onto the table.

And then within half an hour, the water was about 18 inches high

throughout the house.

Villagers say that they are nowhere a river but that they are

the victims of flood water running off the nearby A55 dual carriageway.

The local assembly member says that the last time this happened,

the Welsh Government pledged to take action to ensure it

would never happen again.

There is a scheme, it is a 1.5 million scheme, but the Welsh

Government has so far refused to supply the funds necessary

to protect these homes and to protect the A55, of course,

which is a vital artery not only to Northwest Wales

but to Ireland as well.

The Welsh Government say that they have committed almost ?300

million to managing flood risk, which includes significant

investment in North Wales.

They say that they will work with local authorities to see

what additional action can be taken to protect homes.

With water and showery rain forecast, householders in southern

parts of Wales are now on alert.

We are predicting...

We are getting forecasts of a lot of rain on Wednesday,

so with the ground already quite wet because of the rain we have had,

river levels could rise quite quickly, so we are monitoring

the situation quite closely but as I said, it will be mostly

South Wales that will get affected and not North Wales.

Tonight, Natural Resources Wales have one flood warning for part

of the lower Dee Valley and 13 flood alerts across North,

South and West Wales.

Revenge porn victims are often wrongly blamed for bringing

the offences on themselves.

That's according to the charity Revenge Porn Helpline,

which claims some police forces don't take the crime seriously.

It comes as figures show 56 reports have been made to police in Wales

since specific legislation came in in April.

All four Welsh forces said they took allegations seriously and had

dedicated staff to tackle the crime.

A terminally ill mother has made a plea to her son's killers

to tell her where his remains are buried.

Kyle Vaughan from Newbridge, near Caerphilly, vanished

three years ago.

Anna Bailey reports.

Kyle Vaughan's family are spending their third

Christmas without him.

The 24-year-old disappeared in 2012.

A police search quickly turned into a murder investigation.

His body was never found and eight people arrested in connection

with the enquiry were all released without charge.

It is likely to be his mother Mary's last Christmas.

Her liver cancer has progressed and doctors say that she could have

weeks left to live.

I know that somebody has done something to him.

They know what has happened to him.

And I would just like them to come forward and say.

Put themselves in my shoes.

What would they feel like if they were going to die

and their son or daughter was dead and it did not know where they were.

Kyle was last seen at around 11pm on the 30th of December,

three years ago.

His silver Peugeot was found crashed between Risca and Crosskeys

on the A467.

It is not known if he was driving at the time.

Police believe several people know what happened to Kyle.

I would appeal to those individuals that are currently spending time

with families to stop, take a moment and put themselves

in Mary's shoes.

And to think about the next few months that this family are facing.

Detectives have collected nearly 400 statements over the course

of their investigation and are asking for any witnesses

to call Crimestoppers.

For Kyle's family, time is of the essence.

Just come forward and say where Kyle's body is so that she can

at least bury him before she goes.

That is her biggest fear, that she's going to die before

she finds out where Kyle is or what has happened to him.

Operators of Wales' largest shopping

centre say retail sales have been buoyant over the festive season.

More than 1 million shoppers a week have been visiting

the St David's Centre in Cardiff, with retailers saying they're

holding up well against online competition.

This year, we have had a fantastic year.

Sales have been in line with last year as well,

sales and customer visits.

We have had up to 1 million customers a week, spending ?2

million per day, so we are really pleased with that and also

with online competition, our customers have been using click

and collect this year.

A photograph taken in 1927 showing one of the attempts to break

the land speed record at Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire

is to remain in the county.

It shows Signor Foresti - an Italian racing driver -

who crashed his car at 150mph but escaped

with only minor injuries.

The press photograph was sold for ?45 to a volunteer

from the Pendine Museum of Speed until the antiques dealer discovered

where it would be going.

We decided as a business to give the money back to the lady

and donate the picture to the Museum of Speed.

She had made the effort to come and buy it, that was the least

we could do.

And, secretly, I'm quite pleased not to have lost it.

It is a nice, rare thing and I will be glad to go down

to Pendine now and again to have a look at it.

Football, and the Swans managed a scoreless draw

against Crystal Palace at Selhurt Park, securing a third

clean sheet in a row to remain above the bottom three

in the Premiership.

In the National League, Wrexham's promotion bid was dented

by a 2-0 loss to Halifax, while League 2 leaders Plymouth

denied Newport County a point.

Final score, 2-1.

all parts, briefly turning persistent, but easing around dawn.

from the west later.
